Problems with 1999 Ford F-150 SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC

Consumer stateed that the wheel locks up while braking also,the brake pedal, drum, rotors and pads were failed and replaced. *yh

When applying brakes it caused vehicle to vibrate, vehicle been in dealer shop for repairs on two occasions,and problem still reoccurring. . *ak one wheel locked up while traveling. transmission and shifter vibrates under rough road codition. the steeting and the vehicle in general were not secure. *yh

I have been to the ford dealer numerous times for these problems and this last time their engineer that came in has noted the problem i have. they consider this normal and acceptable as it is. for being a new truck it should have to be in the shop for all the problems it's had. i have all the service reports if needed. i pray that these problems can be resolved. you may contact me at home if any questions (505-875-1288) thank you for your time

I have had problems with the absbrakes on this vehicle 5 times the dealership told that there is nothing wrong but the front brake do not work still this truck is not safe to drive.the tranmission sounds like it if about bust in half every time you shift it from first.they said it shifts fine.iam a certified drive train mechanic it dont shift fine.i will be consulting an attorney about persueing a lemon law claim.

Noise in the engine due to worn idler pulley, belt and alternator. *mjs

My braking problem has occurred on several occasions. the first was 2/26/2000, also 3/1/2000, 7/13/2000,12/6/2000, 2/2/2001, 4/19/2001,. the problem seems to be the brakes pulsate when braking. but mostly they lock up, and also they will sometimes not work for a second or two then they will lock up. this has occured on numerous occasions, almost resulting in accidents.any help will be appreciated. dale f. ziegelhofer.*ak

Master cylinder had to be replaced after going out twice/abs light stayed on constantly. dealer fixed brakes twice. also, rear brake line failed, and consumer had no brakes. had to use emergency brakes. also, when truck was six months old rear axle broke. *ak

When brakes were applied at highway speeds in a panic stop vehicle experienced extended stopping distance. dealer was not able to duplicate the problem.*ak

For normal braking anti lock brakes will stop, but for panic braking they will not stop and they lock up intermittently, the computer shows no codes so the dealer is unsure how or what to repair.*et

While traveling at 50 - 60 mph consumer was forced to slam on the brakes because the car infront had stopped. while putting on brakes abs locked up, and consumer rear ended vehicle that was in front. upon impact, air bags did not deploy. *ak

When putting on brakes pedal it would go have way to floor before truck would stop. *ak

Truck was unstable with cause unknown by dealership. owner has taken vehicle in for corrective action several times, however nothing has changed. vehicle vibrates excessively when at idle with rpm gauge fluctuating up/down. *ak consumer states that the engine runs rough, oil level dropped and there was a clicking noise in which the dealer replaced the fan blade and fan clutch. rear brakes experienced grinding, dealer applied a silencer to the front and rear brake pads. consumer has experienced several problems with the a/c and heater, problems still exists. vehicle uses a lot of gas, idles rough and experiences small hesitation upon acceleration. vehicle kicks into gear. vehicle drifts to the right, while driving at higher speeds, vehicle and steering wheel vibrate. driver side rear view mirror rattles when closing door, when everything is closed there is an outside noise, dealer resealed the windshield. when turning on the lights, the clock and a/c are delayed. there is a whining noise when turning steering wheel. window control buttons stick at times, dealer replaced the window switch. *slc

Brakes began to grab, a tsb was issued stating the brake shoes needed to be replaced, after this repair the brakes still did not perform correctly and the dealer cannot remedy the problem. *slc

Front brake rotors needed to be replaced 4 times which caused braking system to pulsate, and resulted in extended stopping distance. dealer could not determine the cause of the problem. *ak *ml

Dt: the brakes lines under the hood rusted, and they blew out. took very good care of the vehicle. it just let go, and there were no brakes, used the emergency brake to stop the vehicle. this happened on july 25,2005. there was no warning, they were steel lines . they blew out right beside the box that controlled the anti-lock brakes. the vehicle was at the dealers , and they said it was due to corrosion. also, they also say they needed to replace all the brake lines.*ak

When driving at any speed and applying the brakes, abs system kicks in which causes the vehicle to skid. also, both sides of the exhaust manifold engine bolts are loose, and there is a leakage which causes fumes to enter vehicle. *ak *ml

The consumer state's while driving at 50 mph, another vehicle pulled out in front of the consumer vehicle and the consumer apply the brake's, and the consumer driver side air bag and the passager side air bag deploy and the consumer never hit the other vehicle.

Sometimes when i first go down the driveway in the morn. my brakes will lock up and there will be no abs. then they will lock up for about a mile or so at each stop sign then after that they are ok.

While driving about 20 mph, stepped on brake pedal to stop vehicle, but the brakes locked up, causing the bed of vehicle to bounce. also, at times heard a loud noise from tires. *ak

The modular for abs brakes was defective. anti-lock brakes work, abs light comes on at various times and will not stay on very long, in shop 10 to 12 times, they do not know how to fix the problem.. *ak *mjs
