I purchased this ford f150 1999 about seven years ago. i have noticed from the first time i drove it, when i first start it up i hear a series of dings (like ones you would hear for seat belt not fastened), but the seat belts are fastened. my radio sometimes has power and works, other times it has no power to come on. sometimes my odometer is on and i can read my mileage, most of the time its off. sometimes when the blower fan is being used it does not go of when the ignition key is turned off and removed, the only way to stop this problem is to disconnect the battery. i have heard on occasions, a clicking sound behind the dashboard area, again the only way to make this problem stop was to disconnect the battery connections. i fear it may lead to, or cause a fire somehow. most of the time i can leave my truck parked, and start it up the next day, sometimes after sitting over night the battery is mysteriously drained dead the next morning. i have been diligent to make sure i have left nothing on that could in any way drain the battery. i fear these are manufacturer problems, do i have any options to get these issues repaired? *tr

My f150 p.u. has a stress crack in the curve of the door by the window. the latch is not tight enough, so the door is hard to shut. my windshield wipers turn on by themselves, the odometer light goes on & off, the seat belts do not recoil & the "door ajar" light gets stuck, eventhough all doors are reshut. engine sometimes runs rough eventhough has just had 60,000 mile check. the ford dealership wants to charge me for new part to fix odometer light $300+plus labor, $58 for door part+labor. haven't talked to them about "rough running", i'm sure they'll want more $$ to fix it too.*ak
Digital odometer light turns on & off. door ajar light, dome light, and automatic door locks go on & off also. electrical problems may be the "gem module." seat belts do not retract getting cut/damaged from door latch when door is closed, they have been replaced once already. ford engineers were notified nearly six months ago but no reply. *la

Seat belts do not retract quickly and completely when released, a weak retraction spring and the upper plastic locater yoke and the cloth seat exert too much friction. both seat belts were replaced, however failed after one use, driver side was replaced again and failed, there is a recall, 00v348, however this is for 2001 models. *slc

We are unable to safely install child safety seats in the back of this truck.we have been told the safest place to hook up a carseat is in the front seat with the air bag turned off.this is not possible as we have two children.the problem is however,is the fact that carseats cannot be put in the backseat properly and within safety guidelines.
