We have classified the 2 complaints from 2007 Ford Explorer about EQUIPMENT into the following categories.
I have a 2007 for explorer. while i was driving on the interstate the vehicle went from 65 mph to 20 mph. i took the vehicle to the ford dealer who advised that the transmission went out. that this is a know issue with the explorer from 2002 to 2008. i contacted six other independent transmission shops who also advised that this is a know issue for ford explorers year 2002 to 2008. i then contacted ford customer relationship center 800-392-3673 who advised that even though its a know issue with ford that only dealer repair reports count towards a recall with nhtsa not independent transmission company's repair of the problem. i explained to them that i had a two year old in the vehicle with me not only my life was in danger but a child also. the response from fords customer service group was regardless no one got hurt. *tr
I have a problem with my 2007 ford explorer ? dual automatic climate control does not work properly: in auto mode (during cooling process) very cold air blows into my face through panel vents and warm air through the vents in footwell. no flow direction change, no recirculation at all. and i hear clicking noise from behind the dash panel. warm air blows down in every mode (face, face-feet, windshield-feet) that i chose. i learned from internet it's a blend door actuator problem and it's been in place since 1995 for explorer model. our local ford dealer says my ac is ok - no failures shown by scanner device. but i know there is the problem - the scanner shows only the actuator motor move but not the door move. motor may be ok and the gear may be stripped. they just don't want to fix it. i know it?s a safety problem also because some time the blend door will break completely and my windows will be frozen in winter. *tr
My 2007 ford explorer caught fire after repeated complaints to my local dealer of a fuel smell on 9 -10-07 with only 12,000 miles on it ,it burnt to the ground the fire investigator said it was a fuel problem that started on top of the motor now what do i do? i am lucky not to be hurt or worse. *tr
The computer system got out of control. the cd player was jumping between cd's and also the automatic stirrup got stuck and could not get down when doors are open. i took the car to the dealer but they have not been able to repair it yet. *jb
