My family's ford expedition had a goodrich long trail t/a tire disintegrate due to ply separation. we did not hit anything and the tire was properly inflated. this happened at 10:30 pm on a 70 mph highway. *tr

While traveling on the freeway at about 70mph when i heard a loud "popping" noise from under the hood. discovered one the spark plugs had been "ejected" from the cylinder head. the coil that sits above the spark plug had been broken as well. i was able to replace the spark plug and tighten it down enough to seal the cylinder and get the vehicle to a shop. the shop replaced all 8 spark plugs and the broken coil. the vehicle is a 2001 ford expedition xlt with a 4.8 liter triton v8 engine. *tr

Since purchase i have traveled 80000 miles and have replaced the rotors 3 times and the pads 4 times on the front. the most current time the vehicle shakes so bad when i apply the brake that i have to alter my driving while stopping to avoid colliding with other vehicles. i have purchased the high heat rotors and ceramic pads to have the best possible parts on the vehicle and it still eats them up too often. *jb

Vehicle was left outside during several rainy days. upon starting vehicle, wipers, fans would not work. radio would not operate. when vehicle was left in auxiliary position, the vehicle would start itself without turning the key. if the car was left running and in park, the vehicle would try to start while running. this has happened several times, during wet rainy weather. the vehicle, a 2001 ford expedition was taken to the dealership and problem explained. by this time the area affected had dried out and vehicle returned to normal operating systems. the dealer said it could not be diagnosed until it occurred again. *nm

Dt: contact states the windshield is leaking, causing the computer in the fuse panel to short out. the stereo, windshield wipers, and the air conditioner come on when the vehicle was not in use. windshield was replaced. warranty expired , and electronic panel had not been replaced. ford manufacturer has been contacted.*ak

This is the second spark plug in less than 4 months that has blown out of the cylinder head out of our 2001ford expedition. please investigate this problem as it is occurring to many people. it is definitely a flaw in design and is costing people too much money to continue to fix. ford has been no help. as the last time, while driving the spark plug just blows through the cylinder head on a vehicle that has been impeccably maintained.*ak

We own a 2001 expedition the tires on this vehicle are the same tires recalled p275/60r17. i went to greenville to pick up my son on the way home i felt the vehicle shaking and did'nt know what was happening. i started slowing down and we hear a bang noise i pulled over into the emergency lane and checked my tires the back right side hade a large bare spot on the tire showing the separation and wires of the tire. my son who just had surgeryon his foot had to change the tire. no-one was hurt. i know the lord was truely looking out for us because from what i have heard people have been killed from these tires separating. i called ben satcher where we bought the vehicle from and the service manager said my particular vehicle didn't have the right serial number for the recalled tires and they won't do anything for us. i think if we were killed they'd have a bigger problem on their hands. but the purpose of writing this is to let you know i think more tires were effected than continental tires is considering. can someone please let me know what i should do next because i believe others will continue to have these type of problems and they just don't know how to get help either. i think there needs to be another investigation of these tires. i have seen the complaints posted and they seem to have been reported after the orginial recall has expired and we should not be penalized for this problem happening after your expiration date of helping people. if a tire is bad it's seems to me you should not be able to put a cap on that. *ak

Blower motor (inside dash) stopped working. dealer was puzzled by this falilure at 31.406 miles. blower motor was just replaced under warranty. on 4/14/04, (33,500 miles) air conditioning was blowing even without the key in the ignition. radio. clock and winshield wipers stopped working. apparent cause: water leak. this should be covered by first incident, since the problem is in the same area, and it occured in an interval of 10 months and only 2,000 miles. apparently it is not covered.*ak

Consumer states at 15mph the spare tire located under the vehicle fell onto the ground and could have cause an accident. cause unknown. dealer notified.*jbthe tire carrier was replaced. consumer stated that the abs light intermittently illuminates. technician found that the front sensor wiggles and there was damage to the rotor due to it being frozen on the hub. all were replaced. *jg

After normal tire failure the supplied car jack would not support the vehical weight and also would not raise the vehical before the device failed to the proper hight for tire replacement resulting in the jack failing and collapsing which resulted in the left rear of the vehical to fall to the ground when the old tire had already been removed. *ak
