Tl*the contact owns a 1999 ford expedition. the vehicle has a 2009 evenflo discovery child restraint seat, model 3021899 (na). the seat was manufactured on january 30, 2009. the child was properly secured in the infant only child restraint seat. the contact observed that the top portion of the harness retainer clip, used to secure the harness straps, failed without warning. there were no injuries. the child restraint seat was installed using the latch system. the restraint seat was replaced due to the safety issues. the manufacturer was notified of the malfunction. the vin, mileages, and purchase date were unknown.
