Problems with 1999 Ford Expedition AIR BAGS

Automobile info: vin-[xxx] , odometer- 189,143 my wife was in an accident after leaving a doctor appointment where she past out due the pain from the medical procedure. the vehicle struck a power pole head on at 40 miles per hour and the drivers airbag did not deploy. the police officer who was dispatched to the scene and others made comments that the air bags should of deployed. my wife received a bump on her forehead and a severe headache from hitting her head on the steering wheel. she was wearing her seatbelt. the vehicle has been totaled by my insurance company and is sitting at a salvage yard. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

Tl*the contact owned a 1999 ford expedition eddie bauer. while driving 57 mph, a vehicle pulled out in front of the contact's vehicle and caused a crash. the air bags failed to deploy. the contact and passenger sustained injuries. the vehicle was destroyed and a police report was filed. the failure and current mileages were 125,418 updated 10/15/08 *bf updated 10/20/08. *jb

After taking my expedition for service for an inoperable horn, the service department indicated that the air bag was defective. *nm

I was traveling 46 mph i fell asleep hitting a steel traffic pole head on, when my passenger side air bag deployed but my drivers side did not. my car burst into flames i was pulled out of my vehicle at that time my vehicle was 190 degrees. now i have seizures daily,broken ribs, broken disc in my back, and unable to work or drive due to my injuries. *nm

The air bag sensor controls the height of the vehicle. the sensor is malfunctioning and the vehicle's rear is dropping, and will not lift. also, transmission has been replaced four times, and the engine was replaced three times. *bf *nm

Both driver and passenger airbags failed to deploy in headon collision with another ford expedition. one vehicle was traveling at approx 70mph the other at 40 mph. both vehicles were totalled. *ak

Defective fuel line shut off - defective air bag - both did not deploy

We were involved in a two-vehicle crash with major damage to the front of our suv. my husband was driving and i was a passenger in the front. neither of our airbags deployed. we were both wearing our seat/shoulder belts. when we collided, my seatbelt did not _x0013_catch_x0014_, and i hit the dashboard. i was transported to russellville hospital by ambulance. i suffered bruising to my chin and both shins. following our accident, a russellville police officer (along with a member of our fire department) went back to my vehicle and jerked on the seatbelt to try to get it to catch and he could not. i am continuing to have pain in my jaw and my back. my husband told the body shop manager at long lewis ford of muscle shoals, al about our airbags not deploying and my seatbelt not working properly. the faulty seatbelt has been removed from our vehicle and is in my possession. *ak

During front collision air bags did not deploy. during repairs mechanic said sensor moved, but air bags still didn't deploy. *ak *ml

There was a passenger in vehicle going 70mph. driver lost control, vehicle crossed over several lanes, and flipped over 4 times. landed on wheels & hit guardrail & flipped again. landed on right side & skidded 92 feet. upon impact with guardrail, air bags failed to deploy. child 2 1/2mos. in rear facing seat was thrown from seat as vehicle flipped. police report indicated hyroplaned on water on highway. pictures showing front right tire blown & possible rear. firestone tires on vehicle that was totaled. occupants suffered minor injuries & treated at emergency room. child seat cosco model #0273310 dom 06 oct 97. *ak

While driving the air bag light intermittently comes on. dealer has treid to remedy this problem several times. *ak

Had a front end collision and neither air bag deployed. consumer sustained some injuries. *ak
