Problems with 1999 Ford Expedition VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

Intermittently when accelerating vehicle will stall and die without warning.*ak

Backed into a light pole in a parkinglot. engine started to "rev" while still in reverse. with my foot still on the brake, i shifted from reverse to drive. at that time, the car accelerated forward at a high rate of speed, hitting a car and going through a storefront wall. i had my foot on the brake the entire time (pictures show the tire marks the entire way). wheels continued to accelerate after car was stopped by debri, burning holes in the carpet of the store. hard to say what the cause was at this time. lawyer refers to it as "sudden acceleration syndrome" but this was related to hitting the pole. *ak

Consumer was driving at 65 mph , went to apply brakes to slow down ,but they did not work properly. instead, vehicle began to rev passed 5000 rpms. consumer had to put it in neutral . dealer could duplicate defect. but replaced throttle control mechanism , however, could not guarantee that it will solve defect.*ak

The heater hose dripped antifreeze on to a coil causing damage. yh

When stepping on the gas from a complete stop the car loses power and neraly stalls. once when accelerating on an on-ramp the car nearly stalled and once when starting from a complete stop the car did stall. the dealer cannot duplicate this problem and seems unwilling to try too hard. they said that they spoke with ford and ford said that there were no other complaints like this. it has happened to both drivers of the vehicle. and it has happened approx. 25 times. it has been in the service dept. at the dealer four times and still not fixed!*ak

While turning vehicle on there was stalling. consumer cut the vehicle off to restart, and engine revved. vehicle was driven straight to the shop after the first episode, and it stalled all the way there. *ak

Consumer experiencing problem with vehicle accelerating at high speed while driving on highway. vehicle was taken to dealer, and consumer was informed of a piece of plastic that broke off, which caused throttle to remain wide open. *ak
