Problems with 2010 Ford Escape FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

On average, the 2010 Ford Escape starts to “feel” problems with the FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM and its various aspects after 61 712 miles.

Recently reported FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM problems on 2010 Ford Escape

Fuel leaking entire fuel system needs to be replaced fuel neck broke.

Fuel inlet light fuel filler neck defective causing a gas leak can not pump gas

Fuel pump cracked (part #pfs534) in 2010 ford escape hybrid 2.5l engine similar to recall on other ford escapes with 3.0l engine. cracked fuel pump caused vapor leak engine light. vehicle would still operate but strong fuel smell was coming from the fuel tank area and within the vehicle. i was surprised that the recall only impacted 3.0l engine fuel pump and not other ford escapes, especially when it seems like they are having the same problem and likely have a very similar part.

While driving in a variety of circumstances, (in town at stoplight and accelerating on highway) my 2010 ford escape will just shut off. no warning, just dies. i have been to 4 mechanics including one at a ford dealer just today. no codes show, so every time i am basically told that they "can't duplicate issue" and i am sent on my way with no remedy for what is a very dangerous malfunction. i just called ford and started a case number to see what they will do. judging from other comments i have read on internet, i am not hopeful. i cannot understand why a recall wasn't issued and how i am just learning about the scope of the problem now-after spending $20k on this vehicle.

Replace evaporative emissions

According to your vin search, my particular vehicle was not a part of the 5 recalls on the year, make and model of my vehicle. now with that said, 1 recall that is listed, i am having a fuel leak just as it is described but again my vin is not listed for that recall and it should. everytime i fill up with gas, and the gas handle clicks to inform that the tank is full, the gas starts to leak very badly from up underneath and this happens everytime.

The vehicle flex fuel system is horrible and the vehicle shuts off for no apparent reason. we have have had the vehicle inspected and reviewed by mechanics, who come back with one issue, the flex fuel set up. so we ordered and replaced the flex fuel pipe 2 times now. the engine light still continues to pop back on after a couple of days go by. the car shutting off while driving is a safety issue. this vehicle was purchased for my 16 year old daughter from a dealership less than a year ago. i am scared to death she will crash when the vehicle shuts off on the interstate. the 2011 recall ford issued covered the same type of issue, which in my opinion should be expanded. my daughter just called and stated that the car shut off 5 times in the course of a mile. luckily, she was local.

When the vehicle comes to a stop whether it be a stop sign or red light, the rpm's over rev higher at the time of leaving from a stop when gas is given to vehicle. after the vehicle gets back up to speed the rpm's drop back to a normal range.

My engine locked oil leaking battery dies air bag light comes on suv shakes rear windshield whippers drain battery constant jumps and road side assistance.

The "check fuel fill inlet" came on a couple of miles after filling gas and stayed on. after a few more miles, the engine light came on and stayed on ever since. i have had the same problem 4 months ago, but my mechanic said it is a malfunction in the computer so we replaced the computer. but the problem came back. i have looked online for solutions and it seems many other ford escape users have had the same problem.

Fuel leak between the tank and end of the fuel filler. vehicle is parked and leaking. i noticed it because you can see the fuel on the floor and strong fuel odor even in the driveway not to mention if you have it in your garage.
