One january 23, 2018, the rear window of my legally-parked 2011 ford escape hybrid limited suddenly spontaneously exploded. thousands of glass fragments went all over, narrowly missing a human and a dog, but there were no apparent injuries. the car was not moving at the time, but was legally parked and totally stationary.
