Door ajar lights keep coming on, interior lights stay on, indicator tells me that the door is ajar and to shift transmission into park...should i do that?while driving ? beeping constantly, my wife very nervous while driving not knowing what to do. interior lights on at night and won't go out.
I keep getting a door ajar warning even when the door is completely shut. therefore my lights stay on extra and my auto door locks wont lock, and i have a child in the rear seat so the child could open the door if i don't manually lock them...not safe!. upon searching, the door sensor needs to be replaced which is no easy task. ford should replace for no fee.
Door ajar waring on dash appears with doors fully closed and keeps interior lights on for an extended period of time so that the car battery becomes drained. took to dealer and was quoted $500 for the repair. outrageous!

After drivers door is closed and car is started it still shows drivers door as open and interior lights won't go off and alarm sounds. this is a major safety issue when trying to back up or drive at night when interior lights won't go off.
Second time door ajar indicator came on in 1 year, drivers door and driver passenger door had to be replaced to the amount of $ 650.00. when this happens the inside light stays on, which in turn drains the battery. obviously this happens a lot because there are self help videos to disable the mechanisms. i am inquiring as to being reimbursed for the above amount. i believe there is a problem due to the fact that the mechanism went bad on the same side. repairs were made at timbrook ford rr3 box 3280 keyser,wv 26726 p#304-788-7900 this happened sept.2015 & sept 2016.
The door ajar alarm/light stays on all the time even when the door is shut securely, in motion and not. sometimes when you park the car it stays on and the interior lights will not shut off or they shut off and kick back on at random. reading some complaints and sounds like a common problem, even to the extent of having it kill their battery and some have had it fixed at shop just to have the same thing happen again. ford needs to be responsible and have a recall for this problem.

Driver's side door keeps sounding the door ajar warning even when the door is firmly closed. no amount of open/closing seems to clear the warning and therefore the warning chimes occur every time the car reaches a stop in traffic. false warnings are dangerous and doors will not lock while car is on.
Door latch sensor - drivers side door latch sensor is faulty. randomly indicates door is open, unlocks all doors while car is being driven. randomly unlocks vehicle while parked as well as turns lights on - thus draining battery and may leave driver stranded.

Light comes on saying driver door is open, come to a stop starts dinging shift to park. car cant be locked at times, and will not lock while driving. ligts will stay on running down the battery if you dont turn them off inside the vehicle. this will be the second time taking to dealership, ford customer care has been involved in both instances, cost to repair is over $600.
The rear left door ajar warning keeps coming on even when the door is closed. the warning will pop on while the car is in motion. the lights also pop on when there is no key in the ignition and the car is parked in the driveway. i have already had to replace my battery due to this issue.
Door ajar sensor failure: 2012 ford edge left rear passenger "door ajar" sensor fails to indicate when door is shut/locked indicating it may still be open/unlocked. the sensor failure affects the following: - alarm/intrusion detection: security system does not set properly and will activate randomly if set. attempting to set alarm results in three abnormal horn blasts indicating a door is ajar. in this state, alarm will sound randomly which is highly disruptive to neighbors. it is unsure whether this model can lock without security system enabled, forcing the vehicle to be left unlocked. - electric / battery: dome lights, and other dash indicators do not secure manually and cause severe battery drainage. expensive battery replacements. - safety: small children in car seats, unsure if doors are properly secured, doubt and peace of mind in ford. the issue was discovered approximately august 2016. vehicle was parked. at first the door could be opened and re-shut with force and sensor would self correct, but ultimately it would fail altogether. this is a known issue. ford, where is the recall!?
The door latch on car says door is not closed. the lights stay on and the alarms sound. the door won't lock either. you have to close the door several times before it goes off. several vehicles that are ford have done this.
The car maintains a "door ajar" message (in reference to the driver door). the dashboard indicator light, cabin lights remain on while driving and i cannot engage the door lock on any door while in the vehicle. in addition, a warning sound continues to chime while i drive telling me the door is ajar. the door is in fact closed and i cannot get the dashboard indicator and sound to turn off while driving.
The door ajar alarm stays on regardless of if the door is closed or not. only the driver's front door seems to be affected. sometimes repeatedly closing the door (15+ times) will finally make the alarm go off.

Drivers door saying door ajar and not closing. lights in car and signal for door ajar not going off when closed. problem with door latch. had to have ford dealer fix latch. it seems like every ford vechile has been recalled expect the 2012 ford edge. this needs to be investigated because it seems like all the doors are not completely closed as the door locks are not going completely down and appear like they can open at any time.

I had to have my driver's side door latch replaced because no matter how hard or soft i shut the door it would indicate the door was open and would ding while driving.
Vehicle has rolled off in park and did damage to vehicle the first time. this was when it crossed the highway and landed in creek.when i had it repaired i was told it probably happened with previous owner because it had an aftermarket front bumper on it. i was sitting in vehicle a few weeks later and it rolled in the parking lot and i had to shove emergency brake down. found a recall that looks like what happened to my vehicle but the claim is that my vin was not affected, but matches the description.

My driver side door ajar light would stay on after closing my door, whether parked or in motion. i would have to close it 5-10, sometimes more times, to get the light to go off. even if i slammed the door sometimes the light still wouldn't go off, and the warning signal would chime as i drove. i bought the car used from a honda dealer, and the salesman told me it was likely just a sensor issue, so i ignored it for a month or so before taking it in to a ford dealership when i thought i could afford to have it repaired. they did diagnostics on it and told me it wasn't just the sensor, that the door was actually open because the latch wasn't closing properly. they told me if i got in a wreck my door could fly open, so i let them repair it. they replaced the entire lock assembly on the driver side. i have attached my invoice for record of the repairs made and the cost.
The driver side door latch assembly has went bad and it is a problem that ford refuses to address. it keep the light on in the cabin of the car and the door doesn't lock appropriately for safety.
My vehicle is a 2012 ford edge and has approx 43,000 miles on it . the door ajar warning illuminates on the dash even though i have clearly slammed the door shut. it leaves the dome lights on the car which is dangerous at night while backing out of the driveway as it obscures you vision, and while driving it illuminates a yellow warning to shift the car into park and has a consistent ''dinging'' noise that is very distracting if you are driving less than 30mph. these warnings happen both while in park and when in motion driving less than 30 mph.
Driver door sensor intermittentlyy goes out. door will close properly and will start driving and sometimes the switch activates while i am driving even on the freeway. the door is clearly shut (at least i think it is). other issue is if the door sensor is saying door is open, the auto door locks when you go over 10 mph does not work.
I been having problems for the past year on the driver and pasanger door ajar .. no matter how hard i slam the doors . lights still on , and ajar symbols on . is not really safe not more because the door doesn't lock . cause of that defect . they won't lock . and it's bad because i can't really do my duties , knowing is open and somebody might just break in . is really so annouying ., this issues . i try ford dealer to work on that they just says it warranty won't cover no more . that i have to paid from my own pocket . which is really a factory problem . please help resolve this issue . i been seeing a lot of you tube videos with the same problem
The drivers side of the car blows extremely hot no matter the temp setting. this has been happing for over a year now off and on. it started last winter when the passenger side blew icy cold no matter the temperature setting. my driver side door always shows ajar therefore my kicks will not engage while driving . this malfunctioned 2 years ago
