The dash on my truck is cracked into small pieces that are very dangerous. the pieces are sharp because they are broke into little triangles. the pointed ends will injure or kill someone during a crash! also the airbag light is on and i can't get it repaired because the dash has to be removed and it is in little pieces. this means that because of this dash i don't have an airbag! i called dodge(along with everyone else) and they pretty much told me they didn't care. i asked them if my truck was safe to drive and he said "no". *tr
I am the original owner of this ram 2500.. i have contacted local dealer about two years ago and followed up.. but they are full of excuses. they keep telling me "when we get the word from dodge we will call you.. they air bad issue really scares me since i cannot turn the [xxx] thing off when i drive it and some else's carelessness is what will blind...me. also, i see the track bar made need to be replaced... sort of important since it affect steering. how do you light a fire under these people.. car sales are booming.they go the money... they hope i go way... honda friends of mine have had their bags replaced a long time ago.... whom do i contact to get this done??? The dash board cracked when a new air bag inflater was in stalled and continues to crack. i am concerned that this might cause the air bag not to deploy properly. i complained to the dealer but they refused to fix the problem
Multiple breaks in the vent portion of the dash cover with missing pieces and the main dash component is completely cracked through on the passenger side. with the ventilation system on, pieces of plastic and deteriorated insulation blows freely in the cab of the truck. with the dash continuing to crack and break apart pieces of plastic have dropped below the dash and could potentially could expose and cause wiring problems with the electrical system. the cracked dash is a danger to the eyes of anyone riding in the vehicle with the ventilation system circulating condition air. i fear that the dash will act as shrapnel in the event of air bag deployment. ...updated 07/30/15 *bf
Takata infiltrators well the government wants to force replacement of air bag, but doses not require the vehicle manufacture to provide replace parts for the anti- lock brakes. this pick-up has need a new anti lock brake control module for years, but oem replacement parts are not available, but air bags are. a excellent example of how bureaucracy's really care about your safety.
Since i purchased this vehicle in 2012, the dash board has been so severely cracked that there are sharp edges exposed. the previous owner had a carpet dash cover on the dash. directly above the passenger airbag the lip of the dash is cracked from the airbag all the way to the windshield. i am afraid of that cracked piece being projected by the airbag during an accident and injuring a passenger. all of the cracks are straight lines, most running front to back. this indicates that it was inferior plastic or manufacturing process that caused the plastic to crack this direction, or that the dash is not properly supported underneath. plastic cracks from sun damage tend to be "spider web" type of cracks....updated 09/22/15 *bf updated 12/11/2015*js
The dash has cracked into multiple razor sharp spintered sections. in the event of a frontal crash, with air bags deployed, its possible these spintered sections will cause severe facial and bodily trauma to any passengers in the vehicle. *tr

All dodge ram from 2000-2005 have dash problems. they break and fall apart. they cost around $1500-1800 to get them replaced. they don't tell you when you buy it. so why does the nhtsa not do anything about it. if you have wreck and the airbags deploy, there are sharp edges in between you and the bags. they will cut your face, arms, or worse kill you. is it going to take innocent people getting murdered by dodge's negligence for somebody to do something. they are defective. make dodge recall the dash and install a new safer one. i do not want people to be killed, including myself and family. *kb
I own a 2003 dodge ram 2500 pick-up. sitting at a stop light and the dashboard popped and cracked right in front of me. i know this doesn't sound like a safety recall issue but if you look at it this way it does. the vehicle is equipped with a passenger side airbag. when the dashboard cracks and falls apart it leaves jagged edges which may be sent into the passengers face in the event of a front end collision with airbag deployment. *tr

My complaint refers to nhtsa-safety recall number: r26/nhtsa15v-312; recall date: may 29,2015.involving the takata airbag inflators: my vehicle was named: 2003 dodge ram 2500 with a cummins diesel by the manufacturer, chrysler, dba ""fca- us -llc pobx 218008, auburn hills michigan. one week later,i notified my local dodge dealer: (huntington new york jeep, chrysler, dodge, ram located at 1220 east jericho turnpike, huntington, new york 11743, phone: 1-866-525-7118. i called the dealership today and their reply was, "the part to correct this is still not in". this is a very serious health & safety issue. it has been 8 months since my recall notice. i want your agency to determine if chrysler has put a plan in place to deliver the parts to the dealers and what is the specific timeline and provide the public with the name, job title, address & phone number of the persons at chrysler who are being held accountable for this remedy, yet to be performed.
