Tl* the contact owns a 2009 dodge ram 1500. the contact stated that the heater, defroster, and air conditioner malfunctioned. in addition, the transmission failed while the vehicle was turning into a driveway. the vehicle was towed to butte's mile high chrysler jeep dodge ram (3883 harrison ave, butte, mt 59701,(406) 565-4410) and repaired under warranty. the contact had to pay for a loaner vehicle because they exceeded the mileage limitation due to the distance from their home to the dealer. the contact also stated that the headlight switch did not activate the headlights; therefore, the contact had to use the high beams. the contact repaired the headlights themselves. the heater and air conditioner were not under warranty and were repaired by the contact, but the failure recurred. the manufacturer stated that there were no recalls on the vehicle. the failure mileage was 76,000.

I received safety recall notice n08/nhtsa 13v-038, rear axle pinion nut notice about 6-8 months ago. i had not heard anything for about 4 months, so i called the number given, 1-800-853-1403, to ask if anything was being done about the recall and was told to wait and i would receive another notice to get the truck repaired. it has been at least 2 months since then, and i have still not received anything. i have been afraid to take my truck any distance, especially on the interstate highways, because the recall said it could cause an accident. please do something to get this problem resolved. *tr

On my 2009 dodge ram 1500 quad-cab 4x4, at 43,000 miles, while changing the oil and oil filter, the drain plug nut on the inside of the oil pan broke loose from the welds. i was lucky, in that this did not occur until i was putting the oil drain plug back in. i was able to hold tension on the nut and tighten the drain plug completely. i contacted the dealership and they ordered the pan. it took a month to get the replacement oil pan. i scheduled it with the dealership for the replacement. due to the fine engineering, the front axle had to be removed in order to replace the oil pan. the dealership had the vehicle for 3 days before they could complete the replacement. it was covered by the lifetime drive train warranty on the truck. *tr

While driving at highway speed, the rear differential pinion gear broke which locked up the rear differential and the truck skidded out of control to a dead stop. after the truck stopped due to the differential locking up, it would not move and had to drug onto a flatbed and taken to the dealership for repair. it took 23 days for the dealership to obtain the necessary parts and make the repairs to the vehicle. they replaced the complete rear differential. parts numbers: #68034651-aa / shaft drive #68002298-ac / axle rear #68003055-ab / lubricant #4318060-ab / lubricant description on work order: replaced the whole diff. in a complete unit with all parts and preassembled. the repairs were completed, and the truck was picked up on 10/15/2010. mileage on the vehicle when the incident occurred: 30,564 miles. work done at: ewald chrysler jeep dodge, llc 6319 s 108th st, franklin, wi 53132 414-427-2000. *tr

While driving at 75 mph on interstate i noticed a whine which i assumed was from the grooved pavement. i then noticed it would come and go by slightly pressing on the accelerator. after a few minutes it started to get louder. i pulled to the shoulder of the highway at which point there was a loud bang and the rear wheels completely locked up. it was towed to the nearest dealer. i am waiting for the complete rear axle and driveshaft to be replaced. the rear pinion gear nut had unscrewed and the differential gears had self destructed and driveshaft fell off. there may also be damage to the transmission. it seems dodge trucks have a history of this happening. i was on the way to tow a travel trailer. this could have happened at high speeds towing a trailer in heavy holiday traffic and people could have been injured or killed. *tr

Had issue with clunking noise from rear end approximately 1 year after purchasing vehicle. took truck into the dealership and was told by the service advisor that the pinion nut was loose and the rear driveshaft could have separated at any time. it is now 3 years later and i am receiving a recall notice for this same rear axle pinion nut. i called the dealership to have it corrected and chrysler does not have the parts required to remedy a permanent fix. the safety recall form from chrysler also states that parts are not available to correct. i can't believe that this was not addressed way back in 2009 when it was supposedly corrected and that chrysler would let me drive a vehicle that had a known defect. *tr

2010 dodge 1500 ram with less than 9000 miles sudden dangerous deceleration and abs,4wheel drive service and esp lights alarming while driving at freeway speeds. frightening! truck seeming to cut out and applying the brakes without any input from driver. could easily result in loss of control. speedometer also swinging across from 0 to 65mph constantly during events. *tr

While normal driving the vehicle doesn't seem to idle right. at times the engine will rev a little then lets off, then back up and so on. also under normal acceleration the rpms will climb about 100 then stop going up then bump up 100 then stop again and so on until accelerator is pushed harder. during first drive in the morning vehicle will accelerate then suddenly the rpms will drop to about 1000 then a slip second later the truck will kick back in. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2009 dodge ram 1500. the contact received a recall notification for nhtsa campaign number: 13v038000 (power train). the contact stated that the vehicle was repaired three times according to the recall, but the failure was not remedied. the failure occurred four times. the dealer stated that the actuator recirculation door needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was notified. the approximate failure mileage was 25,000.

Terrible vibration or shaking right at 70mph and up. have complained about it to dealer from right after purchase. recall on pinion nut has not fixed the problem. pavement and tires make no difference. dealer claims they cant drive it at 70 mph. or more.its illegal.

Defect(s): cruise control is intermittent and random. apparently influenced by humidity and rain events. also involved is the random shifting of the electronic transmission as indicated by the information center readings during the cruise control event(s). the problem has not be duplicated by the manufacturer and/or their authorized repair facilities after three (3) attempts it is electrical in nature thus no repair has been accomplished to date. litigation is pending but they are demanding an additional repair attempt under the ga lemon law i am urging my attorney to proceed under the magnuson-moss warranty act.*tr

Truck has left me stranded multiple times by completely losing power electrical and engine. dealer claims to have "replaced" computer but chrysler corp confirms dealer just "reflashed" computer. multiple recalls have occurred and truck was brought into dealer but i know the old parts remain in place! i cannot trust this dealer to do anything they claim to do, proven by comparing the written work order with the records at chysler corporate. we are afraid to drive this vehicle, my wife will not step foot on it and as i am an amputee every time i get stranded(3 times so far) i cannot walk to get help. so i am at the mercy of available cell phone signal or just pray. the dealer had continually stalled us on repairing these problems up until the warranty ran out and then all of a sudden they figured out the "actual" problem and could now fix it for a few thousand!! dollars. please help us- we have been fighting for some kind of justice for 6 years! truck has only 24000 total, actual scary miles on it. paid cash of approx $50,000 and are so hurt and disgusted with our purchase but most outraged by the treatment and lack of normal human concern for our safety or our lives for that matter. last remark from dealer owner to us: "not my problem tough s..t" this vehicle should become chryslet corps problem and we want the timely return of our money asap please please please . this is a nightmare and has caused us both serious health issues

The rear end locked up. *tr

Truck was in park then vehicle left park and went into reverse with no one inside at the time, went up hill with speed and crashed into neighbors car. dodge says no recalls were reported. *tr

At about 100 miles on vehicle noticed a low squeal sound from engine or transmission? at present there are 15000 miles on vehicle and the squeal has gotten a little worst. the noise begins after about one or two minutes of starting, and is continually squealing while vehicle is running. the dealer ship ran test and said it was normal. i drove another 2009 1500 ram and the noise was not there, or in another 1500 ram from another dealership. dealership refuses to go any further with the problem, quote: we can't figure where the noise is coming from, so it must be normal. *tr
