I have an 2006 dodge megacab with only 40,000 miles since we hit 34,000 miles the turn signals work intermittently or not at all. recently my wife was on the freeway and activated the right turn signal indicator and the left blinker came on she was nearly hit by a fast approaching driver from behind. i contacted chrysler corp. and filed a complaint a rep called me and stated they would by happy to cover the cost of the part if it was deemed defective by and authorized tech i would however have to cover the service fees. i explained to her that our current financial situation would not allow this and in essence this was a defective part and the manufacturer should stand behind their product she gave me the impression that they were not concerned this was an issue or even a safety issue. i stated that the repercussions of such short sightedness could be fatal for some unfortunate chrysler product owners if this is not addressed immediately as i have noticed a growing number of online forum complaints regarding this very issue. all we ask is that this issue be addressed as a recall issue and repairs be completed satisfying customer requests to ensure a safer driving experience. here is my ref #1974126 in deference to my complaint to chrysler corp. *tr

When u turn the signals on they go the opposite way or completely go off it causes the break lights to go out as well this is a major safety issue and can result in a crash this should have been recalled along time ago why haven't you done anything i my self feel this is a major safety issue it gives everyone a false direction and results "wreck" i have had multiple incidents with this it happens frequently i have replaced bulbs and it is not the problem the problem is in the factory screw up. *tr

When driving trying to change lanes i tried to signal right and my left turn signal came on then the turn signals were alternating back and forth. this has been happening on and off for quite a few years it will start working again then later break again. *tr

I activated my left turn signal but noticed that my right turn signal indicator light was blinking. this problem nearly caused an accident. the problem occurs approximately 90% of the time (when using turn signal). also, my wipers have begun malfunctioning (turn signal and wiper switch located together on steering column). i do not know how to correct the problem (vehicle out of warranty). *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 1500. the contact stated that the vehicle would start without being placed into gear. the failure recurred on several occasions. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 14v795000 (electrical system); however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. the manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. the approximate failure mileage was 50,000.

Electric window control buttons on all doors(driver, passenger, and both back doors became glitchy. sometimes they worked sometimes they did not. unable to roll up or roll down. then hours or days later they would randomly work again, and then randomly stop working. *tr

This first started a few years after i got the truck which i bought new. occasionally when i would turn on my left turn signal, the right or both would come on. this would also make my windshield wipers not function correctly. dealer replaced the multi function switch. same thing happened 3 more times over the next few years. now its happening again. i have narrowly avoided 2 accidents because of this happening. next, the heater/ac only works through the defrost vents. in the summer when using ac the windshield starts to freeze on the inside. causing visibility issues. also when using heat or ac the tachometer bounces around not reading correctly. all these electrical problems concern me. just waiting for the truck to catch fire going down the road!! dodge has not been much of a help. $300 a piece for multi function switch. $800 to fix the heater. and they can't figure our the tachometer. i have sent videos of the tachometer messing up, complained about the milking function switch. but nothing. all these problems definitely affect the safety. please help. lots of other people have the same problems. *tr

Turn signals began to randomly blink on either side (or both sides) regardless which directional signal was being used. code reader at dealership showed problem with tipm. *tr

Driver side low beam head light does not work. bulb replaced, continued to not be operational. took to chrysler/dodge deal, who connected a 'code' reader which indicated the problem was the tipm. tipm was not replaced due to cost & the vehicle was out of warranty due to mileage. *tr

Over the life of the vehicle to date 4 - 5 times the engine electrical system has shut down when the vehicle struck a large pothole, jarring the truck. the engine shut down and after putting the truck in neutral, i am able to start the engine again. the dealer has not been able to find any reason for this failure. after recent publicity concerning other vehicle shut downs resulting in the air bag system being disabled, i am concerned over the safety of the vehicle. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 1500. while idling at a stop sign, the abs light illuminated on the instrument panel. while driving approximately 70 mph, the abs light illuminated again. the speedometer then failed and the speed was not visible. most recently, the emergency parking brake light and abs light illuminated again and the speedometer completely failed. the contact went to autozone; however, there were no error codes for the failure. the dealer and manufacturer have not been notified, but the contact wanted to get in touch with the manufacturer's headquarters. the current mileage was 41,952 and failure mileage was approximately 41,500.

In cold dry weather the ignition system shorts causing the horn lights and chimes to activate. the dealer has witnessed this three times, but said that chrysler has no history of this happening and has no fix for the problem. the truck has been back to the dealer numerous times, several inhouse fixes were tried, but the problem still exists. a representative from chrysler customer assistance told me that the problem is an act of nature and chrysler in not responsible, but he refused to give me the statement in writing. the problem started about 3 weeks after i got the truck in january 2006. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 1500. the contact stated that when activating the right turn signal, the left turn signal would illuminate or the windshield wipers would activate abnormally. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the multi-function switch was replaced. the failure recurred. the vehicle was not further repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 20,000 and the current mileage was approximately 50,000.

06 dodge ram turn signal indicates different direction than intended when making turns. had several close calls in 08 before realizing what was wrong. wipers also malfunction ninety % of the time. have not repaired these problems just use a lot of rainx but not my turn signals. *tr

Check gauges light comes on very often. taken to dealer can not find problem & it still is happening. *jb

All of the gaugo haywire, periodically. the ck doesn't want to start periodically. it even died while driving.*ak

I have a 2006 dodge ram 1500 4x4 st. the problem is static electricity in the ignition switch which chrysler engineer have acknowledged that their is a problem and the problem is when the weather is dry and i go to start my vehicle the surge of the static electricity in the air sets of my horn, my chimes, my interior lights, my cargo lights and my open door lights. the horn blare for up to 3 to 4 minutes and the rest takes an hour or more to reset themselves or i have to disconnect the battery to get them to stop. the dealer ship gave me a can of static guard to spray on my seats to keep this from happening. at night when this happens, i have to cut off my instrument panel lights in order to drive because of the interior lights staying on. i have tried the lemon law etc. dave weinberger a spokesman with chrysler has not kept me abreast of what is going on. i want my truck fixed or replace with another. my family has allergies and the spraying of this static guard is not helping their conditions either! again chrysler is the ones who told me that they knew of the problem and are dragging their feet to fix it. *tr
