Tl* the contact owns a 2005 dodge ram 1500. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign numbers: 15v313000 (air bags) and 14v796000 (power train); however, the parts needed to perform the repair were unavailable. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. the manufacturer was not notified of the issue. the contact had not experienced a failure related to the recalls. in addition, the steering wheel vibrated when making a left turn. the vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to duplicate the failure. while driving at low speeds, the vehicle stalled. once restarted, the vehicle would resume normal operation. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 12,000.....updated 10-27-15 *bf .

Dt*: the contact stated while driving 55 mph the vehicle hit another vehicle from behind and the frontal air bags did not deploy. the vehicle sustained frontal damage and a police report was filed at the scene. the passengers were wearing seatbelts and two passengers sustained minor injuries. the vehicle was driven home. the dealership and manufacturer were not alerted.

Dt: the consumer's son was driving when vehicle swerved to miss a deer and it tipped over into a ditch while driving 30 mph. upon impact, the air bag did not deploy. the vehicle would not shut off until it was put into park. the consumer drove the vehicle back home. later it was taken to a body shop, which did not have diagnostic equipment. they said that there was hardly any transmission fluid. oil leaked through transmission tube under the hood. the manufacturer stated that air bags will deploy when driving forward. he told them that according to the vehicles computers it did not show it had been in an accident. the frame was dented, and there was an injury. *ak
