Electric problem causes the vehicle to loose all engine power while driving down the road

While driving to work on monday morning at 60mph the truck shut down lost all power and can't be restarted almost crashed ..have replaced all the major suspect to find out along with 1000s of others the anti theif device or the wcm is the problem and we as consumers should not have to cover the cost or head aches of getting this resolved.there are more than enough complaints to issue a recall so people can get there trucks bck on the road..

While driving down the road all of a sudden i hear my horn start to honk. i few seconds later some of my warning lights started to light up and i decided to pull over to the side of the road and stop the car. after i did this i opened the hood and saw smoke coming out of the engine compartment on the drivers side. i assume this might be the integrated power module. after this happened i am unable to start the vehicle or place it in drive. it is totally undriveable.

Driving down the highway and power goes out. no air, no radio, engine will not start.

There has been multiple complaints filed with the 2007 dodge nitro with various electrical errors. this vehicle is unpredictable and unsafe. imagine driving down the road with your two toddlers and the vehicle stalls. next your horn starts honking out of control, the automatic door locks begin to uncontrollably lock and unlock. you have to open doors at the perfect time to get out of your vehicle. that's not all! then your windows start to roll down by themselves. oh and don't forget the crazy adventure you'll endure when you drive your vehicle at night and then your headlights turn off by themself! you never know what kind of day you're about to have when you get into this demon car. if you like to live life on the edge i have the perfect vehicle in mind for you! it sounds like multiple nitros were effected by the same issue, but we would rather sweep the issue under the rug instead of actually accepting responsibility for these death traps. i am appalled that this vehicle hasn't been recalled. maybe something will be done when enough people die related to the malfunctions.

When it rain truck shuts off no powere engine has to replace fuse to statr agian

Alarm problem. horn sounds at random times for no reason. it goes off in a erratic pattern and i had to remove the horn fuses to silence it. because it goes off so much, it is draining my battery. i replaced the battery 7 months ago (november of 2018) but its now draining rapidly. i've been unable to start my vehicle twice in the last few days. it has not yet died while in motion. also i have a lift gate ajar fault and had to turn off my interior auto lights so i can drive at night without them on. however the lights do flicker on and off constantly, even with the auto light feature off. when i use my turn signal to go right, my interior lights always come on until the blinker is off.

On 3/21/18 i was driving through a major intersection when the battery dash light came on in my truck. i found this to be odd since i had just had a brand-new battery installed on in my truck on 1/8/18, then the following events occurred in rapid succession: all of the dash warning lights came on, the a/c which was on at the time and blowing very cold air, began blowing hot air, i attempted to roll down the electric powered windows and they would not work; the windshield wipers came on without prompting. i quickly decided to turn around and go back home since i was a short distance away. i decided to take a route through a residential neighborhood since i was unsure what would happen next and thought it would be best not to be on a major roadway if anything further occurred. i made a left into the residential neighborhood and noticed my truck was moving very sluggish and making a weird noise. i was approaching a stop sign up ahead; however, before i could apply the brakes my truck just cut off. i quickly put the gear in park and attempted to turn on my hazard light for oncoming traffic to go around me but i realized at this point my truck had absolutely no power. a gentleman on a bicycle stopped to assist me and we decided it would be best if he pushed my truck around the corner i was stalled at, to keep from obstructing oncoming traffic. he instructed me to put the truck in neutral but i was unable to do so, i could not turn the car on nor could i move it out of park gear. the street i was stopped on is a major road for entering and exiting the neighborhood that i was attempting to pass through to get home. the street i was on is a major road for entering and exiting the neighborhood that i was attempting to pass through to get home. i called aaa and had my truck towed home; its still sitting broken.

Electrical problem when pressing unlock button my doors lock instead. my plug outlet no longer works. when rolling down driver window down. passenger window will roll down and up also. my gas cap light has stayed and and gas cap has been replaced.shift solenoid

Everything falling apart on this car. now the horn goes off when its off, on the freeway or just at a stop light, the other thing, when i fill up the gas tank the gas shoots back up.

Tipm module defect that causes safety issue when locks do not lock or unlock electrically. vehicle no longer has control over locks and doors do not function properly. rear hatch can not be opened to release passenger in an accident and doors do not automatically lock when vehicle reaches speed safety issue with doors and passengers opening while driving.

Tipm module is not working properly for windshield washer pump. washer no longer works to clean window and causes safety issue for driver vision of the road. seems to be issues with this vehicles tipm module mine was replaced by dealer in 2010 for wiper not working safety issue. now washer pump and door locks are not working on this tipm module. both issue occurred same day with this tipm.

Electrical problems, while driving on public streets, horn, windshield washer, door locks go on at their will, never know when they will go on and even with the key off they still continue to honk spray water and locks go up and down. air conditioner/heat fan goes on and off at will

Our problems started where the vehicle would lock or unlock itself at random times while parked armed and unoccupied. the lights headlights would come on and the alarm would sound. then the horn started going off by itself for no reason again vehicle unoccupied, usually in the middle of the night, now when you drive it the horn has gone off a few times. the other day my wife was driving it and she was in the left turning lane and the engine stalled, she had to put it in park and restart it, very annoying and dangerous.

Timp failure, apparently many people are experiencing the same issue with this timp requiring replacement due to multiple electrical failures. i am unable to unlock my vehicle.

When i got my ride the horn was unhooked. so i reconnected it and now the horn honks itself and my auto up window switch isn't working.

Horn not working or going on by itself same problem on other dodge plymouth vehicles 2007 thru2010 problem is tipm relay and fuse box the cost to replaced the box about 500 dodge knows about the problem i dont know way they dont recall this vehicles.

I just got a used 2007 dodge nitro in oct. 2016. i had it 2 months i notice that every so often i had trouble with the power door locks not working. then at 3 months i go take my child to school, and all of a sudden my horn goes off, the windshield wipers start going off and spitting out fluid, everything in the vehicle starts going crazy and then i'm in the middle of a very sharp curve when the vehicle cuts off and will not start back. i was able to get pulled over safe but it could have been very differently because i was in a curve on a major road and school time right at the school. had to have the vehicle towed and was told that the totally integrated power module (tipm) went out and would have to be replaced at $1000. now i see so many other people with the same problem. it is not right that chrysler never put out a recall on this or that nothing was ever done about it. i paid almost $2000 for an extended warranty but they will not replace the part either because they say it's just a fuse box. please something needs to be done or someone is going to get killed if not already.

When parked, the 3 passenger doors and hatch will lock but not unlock. the only door that works properly (most of the time) is the drivers door. can't use the key alone to unlock doors because there is no keyhole except the drivers door.

Electronic window switch keeps going out, and the tipm light keeps comiing on. when i driving down the street the tipm light stays on didn't know what that was, i thouhgt it meant my tires, so i purchased new tires, still comes on and now my window want roll up because of this module

Truck hesitating to start on & off - consulted with chrysler jeep mechanic who i showed him a video of what i captured when my truck wouldn't start right away, advised me that it didn't sound or look like the ignition, that it possibly was the "external fuel pump relay and harness". truck was left at dealer for several days to allow them time to properly diagnose what may have been going on. because of the quoted price [$435], i suggested to her that i would have my personal mechanic repair it and would like to purchase the actual harness kit which only cost $32.92. part could not be purchased because it was flagged as an "recall". natasha checked w/mike to confirm this info, drop off date was set - asked her - there will be no charge, correct, since this is an recall part? she said no, there wouldn't, that's correct. service tech kenney handed me a invoice for $415 stating there was a charge - which i totally disagreed. once natasha arrived, we discussed this matter in total disagreement since i was under the understanding this was a "recall" part and wasn't expecting to pay as previously discussed. later that day before returning to pick my truck up, i contacted the dodge headquarters & spoke with caitlin. she stated because my truck didn't have any recalls on it, this part did not qualify & if it did, i would've been contacted. i told her i totally disagreed since i only found out during our discussion there was a recall on my truck for the gas tank - and i still have not been contact by mail or phone for that issue. chrysler dealer services dodge & jeep vehicles & this is the only place i can get this part which has been considered a faulty/defective recall part and because i don't own a chrysler, my truck doesn't qualify, but i'm forced to pay for a recalled part?

My truck honks randomly been dealing wih it for 1-2 years.. it honks when its off or when im driving its very scary as a female having to drive it like this. i had tipm replaced and still having issued i removed the fuse for horn but afte a year my battery started to die and i hear a sound coming from fuse box(tipm) not sure whats the problem but i have read many people have been having issues... recall for safety,.

Battery dies overnight when car is idle. it starts with a jump start and is fine during the day. i found the problem is that the dash board lights are coming on at night draining the battery. i also hear ticking & weird noises from the fuel box under the hood. a/c does not work, horn does not work & i am washer fluid does not come out when trying to clean windows! hazard lights flash & the alarm goes off for no apparent reason. took it to a dealer who said he received about 15 different codes when running diagnostics & that the dealer needs to flash the pcm.

No more than 200 ft from my driveway my 2007 dodge nitro horn just went off by itself for 15-20 minutes unable to go in gear or turn off truck after removing the battery cables it still ran on its own with no battery cables connected or key in ignition. not will not crank at all or turn on but all lights, radio, and windows work. happened chrismas day and now without transportation for me and my wife as it gets colder everyday. i need some serious help fast, i have been searching online and many causes that seem to be prevalent are the skreem or sentry key remote entry module or wireless control module on my model of vehicle and year of 2007 can this be fixed.what a great way to spend christmas stranded in a paring lot, if you can assist with help i would be apprecieated more than you know.

Electrical involving the engine shutting down and the system going haywire and offline putting you at risk, alarm, horn, wipers, instrument cluster and engine running by itself. the vehicle will not start and will not crank over as part of the tipm making it unable to start. there is a recall for 2007 dodge nitro pertaining to this issue that many are unaware of, like me if you are not the original owner, not safe at all could leave you stranded as i was left stranded christmas day and now without transportation. i really hope they can resolve this issue at the dealer

The car with lock and unlock doors by itself and flash lights on and off, causing the vehicle to be inoperable when this happens during driving and when parking. we were already told the controlmodule needs replacing but because this is not a 4x4 it is not covered in the recall. then the brakes stop but not fully and will cause a slide backwards if not held down while in motion, on an incline, on street or ramp. the throttle light and the antilock brake light comes on while driving, while turning, on streetand highway, causing the car to stall in traffic, while moving we have almost been rear eneded a couple of times. we see several recalls that would relate to our problem but all have been identified for the 4x4.

I have a 2007 dodge nitro with milage at 48,545. i have had a few incidents where i have been driving my car and while turning into a parking space my car has turned off on me out of no where also my stearing wheels locks up on me, thankfully this has not happened while i have been on freeway or on street driving at regular driving speeds otherwise you would have been hearing from my attorney. also we dont get much rain in california, however during the rainy season i dont know from where but there is water getting into my car on d, leaving puddles of water in my car. another issue is that my alarm goes off at all times of the day by itself. also i do regular oil changes as needed on my car,in between oil chnages i notice my oil goes down substantually bout 3 to 4 quarts, and there is no leak in my car. the bottom line here is that the vehcile i purchaed is a lemon.

During the summer or winter time the remote control don't work. also the front planel show me some blinker lights when i use the directional light. the remote control issues in very unsafety because this car have just a door with the key access. if you have some emergency inside or fire, you can't open the doors. if you have children this issue will be a potential fatality because the others door are locked to access from outside. please put attention in issue because i read more electrical problems in other websites in the same way. for this reason i started this petition.

Original driver side master power window switch melted and stopped functioning. oem chrysler replacement purchased and installed at owner's expense. two weeks later the replacement switch caught fire. damage was only to the switch and wiring harness. no recall or service alert?
