Problems with 1995 Dodge Neon AIR BAGS

2005 dodge neon. consumer writes in regards to unreliable steering wheel horn circuit. *smd the consumer stated the horn sometimes to failed to honk. when he attempted to replace the steering wheel clock spring, he discovered there was no ground circuit; it was only a three wire device.

My niece and i were driving down the road and the airbags just deployed for no reason, busted my windshield, my 2 side windows, and tore my dash up real good. *tr

Both front air bags deployed when vehicle struck a pothole in the road. three occupants were in the vehicle at the time of the incident. both front seat occupants were slightly injured as a result of the air bag deployment. the passenger in the rear seat, a 7 month pregnant female, was not injured. car veered of the road and hit curb on undercarriage of vehicle after airbag deployment. the contact with the curb caused some damage, but the vehicle is still drivable. *jb

Consumer's vehicle hit a deer while driving about 60 mph. upon impact, air bags failed to deploy. vehicle was totalled. driver was not injured. *ak

After hitting a minor bump in the road front air bags deployed. dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem. *ak

While driving at 45 mph driver fell sleep and vehicle collided with a barrier. upon impact, air bags did not deploy . no injuries reported. vehicle was towed to the dealer for inspection, and dealer was not able to duplicate or resolve the problem. *ak

While turning into a service station for fuel all of the air bags deployed for no apparent reason. consumer was slightly injured on the hand by the deployed drivers side air bag.*ak

While turning into a gasoline service station, inadvertent deployment of all air bags occurred. the consumer's hands were slightly injured from the air bags deploying. *ak

The clockspring is not working. the airbag light is on, the horn doesn't work, and the cruise control doesn't work.*ak

Vehicle was involved in a frontal collision in which the passenger's air bag deployed into rear passenger seat. dealer and manufacturer were not notified at this time.*ak consumer stated both airbags did deplot, and the passengers airbag ejected out of the dashboard.*jb

While driving at 40mph consumer was involved in a frontal collision and none of the airbags deployed. consumer susatained injuries.*ak

While driving 45 mph rearended another vehicle and passenger's side airbag did not deploy. passenger was injured, and vehicle totaled. please add vin. *ak

While traveling approximately 20 to 25 mph vehicle hit a bump and both frontal air bags deployed unexpectedly, shattering windshield. vehicle has not been examined by dealership to determine cause of the problem. please provide any additional information / attachments. *ak

First and second degree burns, due to a fire caused by the air bag on the passenager side which ignited the sheep skin seat cover.

Consumer was traveling on highway and another vehicle veered into her vehicle, and it was totaled. driver's side airbag deployed. father of the consumer was concerned abouth the color of debris that came from airbag. blue coloring burned consumer's shirt. consumer suffered minor injuries. *ak

The car was totalled in a front end collision with the rear of a large cadillac. the airbags did not deploy. we estimate the speed at impact to be about 20 to 25 miles per hour. the front end of our neon appeared to be severely damaged (crumpled hood; destroyed radiator; etc . . .). the manufacturer claims that "damage to the front of your vehicle was not sufficient to cause the deployment of this life saving device." this seems ludicrous to us, particularly since we purchased the vehicle with the specific intent of providing important additional safety protections for our daughter. please let us know if you have recieved similar information from others and what if any actions has been or may be take to hold the manufacturer accountable.*ak

While driving in a school zone, traveling 15mph, another vehicle in front stopped suddenly and was rearended. upon impact, neither airbag deployed. *ak *ml

When the transmission failed the dealer told me i ran it out of fluid/ i was 2 mo. / 2000 miles from factory warranty and they would not help pay for any of the $1350 they wanted me to pay/ had it towed to an independant mechanich which told me that the back of the transmission had a large hole blown out of the back of it, couldnt keep transmission fluid in it that way. found a used one with 2,000 mi. charged $800. this car has been nothing but trouble since day one. i will never buy another dodge, ever!! the dealers try to rob you blind and the co. doesn't know you once they have gotten their money. paid 10,500 for this car 2 years ago and have been paying ever since.

While driving at 35 to 40 mph rear ended another vehicle, and driver's side/passenger's side air bags didn't deploy. *ak

Pe97042; oversensitive air bag deployment; while driving the vehicle at 70 mph, a piece of cement hit the undercarriage of the vehicle, causing both air bags to deploy. driver was able to avoid a crash. also, both side windows shattered, and the windshield cracked when the air bags deployed. the incident has been reported to the manufacturer. *ak *slc
