Our dodge magnum has flickering headlights as well as dash lights also flicker. we our currently unable to drive the vehicle safety at night. dodge says it could be 2 potential problems, first try replacing the light switch which has been done. the problem still exist, next to replace the fcm [front control module]. the fcm is on back order with no release date avaliable. ok so they said to replace the pcm which includes the fcm which is also not avaliable. the lighs only flicker when the vehicle is running and at night. makes no difference when turning or speed. we have contacted multiple dealers an all have the same response. the dealers sugested we try a junk yard for a use fcm, but how can we be sure that solves the problem. the problem started around january 2018. we purchased the car new 2005. we feel this is a major safety issue that needs to be address asap. please help us

I have not had a complete failure. waiting on that to happen. i purchased a brand new 2005 dodge magnum sxt with v6, automatic transmission in 2005 from a dealership. it had approximately 36 miles on it. i have not had the pulling to the right everyone else had, but it does make a funny scrubbing sound while driving as if the tire was rubbing against the car on the right rear passenger side and several other problems that are common. i have depressed the brake and felt vibrations from pedal on several occasions. the car doesn't seem to be able to stop completely. i even got out to look, thinking i hit something. a few months ago, the power outlet located inside the astray stopped working. it blew a fuse, i replaced it. then, two weeks ago, the power outlet in the console stopped working. just two days ago, the battery went dead for the second time in three months. i replaced the battery again. now all the sudden the ac/heater stopped working. you can hear it trying to come on, but the fan motor doesn't seem to be coming on. we've noticed that the headlights seem to surge at night. i will be taking our car in to the dealership, along with copies of complaints from other consumers. *tr
While driving ~40mph when it was completely dark outside, without any indication or warning, my headlights briefly dimmed for ~5 seconds and then i had no lights whatsoever. needless to say, this could have easily proved to be fatal. fortunately i am ok. thus, i am taking this opportunity to file a report. i haven't had the opportunity to take my vehicle to the dealer yet but intend to. *tr

Head lights cover distorted diminishes lighting when driving at night, turn signal stick don't turn off when turning,
On my 2005 dodge magnum whenever the vehicle has been sitting for several hours, upon start up and operation, all interior lights and instrument panel begin to flicker/pulsate. headlights and taillights do the same. for my headlights it causes them to turn off, and then i have to flip the switch to get them on again. this is a everyday problem and is very unsafe at night. vehicle has been to the dealer twice and they could not locate the source of the problem. *tr
Magnum rt, has veered to the right since purchased in august 2004. back rear light full of condensation, appeared to be a leak. dealer ordered a part, and i'm still awaiting notification, a month later. sun roof was uneven, concerned it may result in future leaks. was told this was not abnormal, and shouldn't be a problem. rear driver side window did not work at times. works for the dealer. *ak
Headlights and dash lights make substantial flicker/pulse while driving after the vehicle sits for several hours (all day at work or overnight). the flicker/pulse is noticeable enough that two vehicles i was following have pulled over to let me pass and i get many strange looks from other drivers. vehicle was examined at selling dealer on 2/15/05, work order states "vehicle appears to be operating within design spec's at this time." this safety defect still exists. also, tires flat spot after same time as stated above. for the first 3-4 miles, at speeds greater than 45 mph, tires make thumping noise and car shakes. shaking is felt through seat and steering wheel. after 3-4 miles, thump and shake gradually disappear. tire dealer has not answered questions regarding replacement through continental after one visit and later phone call. *nm
