The gear shift is stuck in park and there was no warning on the display no check engine light.
Car was stuck in park, cannot shift into gear from parking at all. the car was stationary in park, went to shift from park to drive and could not. there is a recall for this but not for my vin number. please help get this fixed. thank you

The shift controller is stuck in park. this is not a new issue for the manufacturer. the mechanic ordered part which should have been here 3 weeks ago and now they say nov/dec. the warranty co tried to get the part and it came back saying january 2019. so, everyone's request is going to dealership and they are given a bogus date. another car (chrysler) has been sitting for a month due to the same problem. this is ridiculous. the car should be recalled because you cannot move it. it is a problem with getting it towed as well. something is seriously wrong that these parts are not being recalled after being witness to the number of people this has happened to. its a disgrace!
Recently bought this car took it to the shop because the car was cutting off on its own whether parked or in drive which is very dangerous. had it checked out and it came up with a code for crankshaft position sensor, got that changed the code went away but the car still turns off on its own and no codes show up. crankshaft has now been changed 2 times&& the electrical things were checked just to be safe!&& a few days ago i was driving maybe about 35mph & the car decelerated on its own and i couldn't accelerate had to turn the car off then back on.
I have contacted dodge after my magnum nearly killed me (literally). they told me to 'pay for my repairs and keep my receipt in case of a recall'. this is a huge safety issue and it needs attention. my gas pedal literally broke off while i was driving and was stuck wide open. by that i mean it broke off completely from the assembly that holds the pedal to the actual car itself! then, after i contacted them to bring it in to a shop, the shifter would not shift out of drive, and when i got it out of drive, it will not move from park!! i have done a lot of research and this is a common problem in this year of magnum!!! it is going to kill someone!!! thank god i was at home so no one else would have been harmed and i was able to think quickly! i literally almost crashed into two very large cement silo's! they refuse to repair this issue!!! it shouldn't matter how many miles (it has 157k which is pretty low for that year) i have never had a gas pedal break off nor have i ever heard of this before i started my search!!

I am the second owner. the car is used very little. the first time i filled it up , not over fill the car started stalling out. it is an issue when all the power steering is not working and it stalls at low speed. the second time it did it i spent over 700.00 dollars to check everything out. car has 69000 miles. it's still stalling after i fill up. i called and my car is not covered under a feb.19,2014 recall. same problem that started the recall. owners are having the same problems. happens at low speed and when turning after a fill-up. i will not let my wife drive this car, too dangerous.
The ignition switch is no good iam parked on city street.
Takata recall. when i had the first recall they replaced the air bag and when they did now the turn signals will not turn off by themselves and the steering wheel makes a popping noise when driving down the road and making a turn.i have no idea what they did when they replaced the drivers side air bag but that is the trouble i am having with my magnum now and you want me to let them do it again. they need to repair the first mistake first but it is my only way around and no dealer will loan out.
I believe my cars has a problem with the gas tank. on friday september 11 2015, we drove the car and it had gas at the time, suddenly the car just turned off on the street. on my gas meter or gage is always reading it on empty when it has fuel. it's also smelling like gasoline now. we bought the car from a used car dealer and it's still being financed. how can i know if it's a manufacture problem, i did some research and it happened to say that this gas problem happens to the dodge magnum 2005-2006, if it's a manufacture problem do i call the dodge dealer and will it be fixed by them. i have two children, i can't drive a vehicle that is not safe. what options do i have. the vehicle also has an air bag recall, which the dealer has not fixed because they don't have the parts it's been over 3 weeks since we received the safety recall notice by mail.
A driver suddenly stopped in front of while i was moving resulting of me hitting her in the back. front of my car is totaled. the shock was violent but the airbag never deployed. thank god i was not greatly hurt. *tr
After filling up with fuel the car has a tendency to stall at intersections or stop and turns. also will surge or loose power at highway speeds. usually only last for 0-15 miles or so and then goes away until next fill up. i believe this fault is due to a fuel tank issue, that when filled causes fuel to be shut off to engine. possibility for being rear ended are very great with this kind of problem. especially in high traffic areas.
Transmission shift interlock lever locked in park. cannot be shifted uunder any conditon. failure disables vehicle and cannot be overridden.
My car was doing fine until i went to back up and it wouldn't come out of park. i had never had it happen before. i couldn't get it out of park. no warning lights and no noise just wouldn't come out of park. the shifter needed to be replaced. a shifter assembly needed replaced
I have a complaint against the city of montgomery,al, the county of montgomery, al, the state of al etc.. i been having problems with my mail running 6 to 20 days not delivered. now i'm having problems with my car. honestly i don't trust the dealer and there service department when it comes to my safety. furthermore i made a complaint with the department of justice when it came to my privacy which pertains to a gps system i feel was attached by alabama government officials because of the current complaints i have against them. i took my car in on 04/30/09 at 1:00 pm for repair at the brewbaker service department. i was told by ronnie a service representative that i would get my car back that day after a part came in. i checked on my car everyday up to know 05/04/09. ronnie still up till this day is stating he is waiting on a part. i seriously think something is wrong. it don't take 5 days to repair a car or wait on a part for minor service which ronnie said would take an hour to repair. more importantly my car has been sitting at this shop for 5 days for minor repair and i question the safety of the car being that i have a complaint against alabama government officials and the fact my privacy is being invaded. please look into my complaint and just consider this a predetermination if i have problems with this car 2005 dodge magnum in the future. the company's info is brewbaker motors chrysler dodge etc dealer, 300 eastern bypass, montgomery, al 36117 (334)279-0174. *tr
Dodge magnum 2005 stalls when put in reverse. problem continues occasionally.
When my wife depressed the accelerator in reverse, the pedal went to the floorboard with no engine reaction. approxiamtely 3-4 seconds later, the car violently took off backwards, ramming another car in our driveway. this action was repeatable for months and it was documented by the insurance adjuster as a major mechanical malfunction. dodge did not address that there was a problem and every time said there are no problems. we have found others with the same problem on the internet. this cost our insurance compnay several thousand dollars. also, the factory tires had very premature tire wear. i had to replace them at 18,000 miles. dodge did replace suspension parts under warranty prior to the premature tire wear. again, dodge said there was no problems with the car attributable to the tire wear.
