The vehicle intermittently would not start one day. replaced the battery and all connectors inspected. the vehicle will drive for a day or two then end up with another dead battery. the main problem is when the last time the battery died it turned off the engine while i was in an intersection and was almost in an accident because of it.

The switch on my cruise control went out on my 2015 crossroad dodge journey only 39000 miles on it
My ac will unsync itself and when i hit sync it unsync again. also if i turn it off it will turn it back on. i dont know what is going on but i see that i am not the only one. i am scared been happening for months
I have been having problems with the power windows. there is a clicking sound when attempting to roll the window down. it rolls down sometimes. after that's been going on for a few weeks, my car cut off. i received a jump through my insurance. today, my car got jumped and cut off twice. the mechanic said it was the alternator. i went online and i found that other people have had the same issues with dodge, chrysler, and fiat. each time my car didn't restart, it was after i parked and came back to it. today, it's being towed.
For the past few weeks my car loses power and turns off while driving and i have to wait 5 min to try and start it again
Car shuts off while driving at any speed. it shits off while parked or stopped at a stoplight. the car will not turn back on. sometimes it take about 30 minutes and it will restart but will only run for about 5-10 minutes. when trying to start the car, we press the brake and then the start button and the car violently jerks as it tries to start, but will not turn over. it has happened since we bought the car march 2019 but the dealership wont take the car back or trade it for something else.
Ac unit comes on and will not shut off this happens every time i am driving within 10 to 20 minutes of the car being on. i will push the ac button to shut it off and it turns back on again. i do this about 20 to 40 times in one day if not for the time of my drive.
There was a bunch of long lines on the screen and the key fob wasn't detected even though the key was in the car. this happened as the car wouldn't crank up. the car wouldn't register that it was in park. it reflected that it was in batter save mode. the a/c cuts on by itself. even after cutting it off a few times. the issue with the a/c was happening with both front and rear units. the rear would blow out a lot of hot air and it wouldn't sync. the issue with the key fob just happened today (9/13/19)
Takata recall i was driving down the road when my airbag light came on in my 2015 dodge journey worried my airbag may deploy as i'm driving.
Takata recall: when trying to adjust the climate control to "sync the passengers" and turn off the rear controls, within seconds the computer is turning the vehicle's "sync" off and turning on the rear control. as i was trying to adjust the temperature it will keep turning the controls off of sync and turn the rear controls back on. it happens whether i'm sitting i'm idle or driving, there have been no conditions that affect the way its working.
I tried to start my car and it would not start we tried to push the start button twice and put it in neutral press the brake it wouldn't start we tried pressing the button five times resetting it it wouldn't start we tried disconnecting the battery to reset the computer is still wouldn't start the car was parked. it won't turn over. when looking on the internet several other people have complained about this same issue.
Tl* the contact owns a 2015 dodge journey. the contact stated that the vehicle made an abnormal rattling sound while being operated. also, the vehicle leaked oil, there was a hole in the transmission, and the check engine warning indicator and brake lights illuminated. the vehicle was taken to sierra chrysler dodge (1305 mountain ave, monrovia, ca 91016) where it was diagnosed that a new alternator was needed. the alternator was not repaired; however, the timing belt and oil leak were repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failures and offered to compensate the contact for the repairs. the failure mileage was 78,000.
I have just paid to have my grandson's dodge journey repaired. the dealer said there was a recall on this problem but not for our vin number. he could not start the vehicle and there were multiple flashing lights. they found water in the abs unit, wire shortage going to the starter, they installed 68194693af replaced the abs hya unit and module at a cost of $577.50. the total cost to service the car to make it start was $1218.55. i consider this to be a safety hazard for a college student that depends on a safe car. the vehicle started cutting out on the interstate with the car going 65-70 mph. he pulled into his drive and turned the ignition off, lights started flashing and he could not restart the vehicle. it was towed to the dealership by aaa and was there for 4 weeks. it was picked up today 4/03/2019. the date it happened is an estimate.
Repeated system low voltage issues, vehicle stalls while driving - does not matter the speed - it has done it at 50 - 60 miles a hour rendering power brakes and steering useless. stalls at red lights or stop signs while moving or still. it is worse during cold and rainy conditions. vehicle will eventually start back up after about 20 minutes of being stranded. yesterday during pouring down rain and cold it stalled at a busy intersection repeated attempts to start unsuccessful finally after about 20 minutes of blocking traffic in the intersection it finally started and i was able to move out of the intersection. error codes read p0562 system voltage low and p0335 crankshaft position sensor a circuit. there is a recall on 2016 dodge journey for the crankshaft camshaft sensor wire harness but not the 2015. best i can tell the internet is riddled with numerous dodge journey's with these symptoms! someone needs to investigate this issue and fix it for us! the expense that consumers are encountering is unacceptable especially since they are not resolving the issues. this is a safety hazard and the liability that dodge will have should consumers continue to be hurt because this continued issue will be bad should class action law suit come because of this.
Vehicle has 39,392 miles. no check engine light or warning. total of 5 intstances in 3 weeks, car will stop running without warning, while driving & operating the vehicle. the car will lose all power, steering, breaks & all control. each time the vehicle has been operating & on the road, driving, between 25-45 miles per hour. 3 out of the 5 times, it has happened after a brief stop at a stop sign or traffic lights. the last instance the vehicle stalled in the middle if a busy intersection for nearly 6 minutes, nearly causing multiple accidents. takes multiple attempts to get car to restart & will shake & make audible cranking noise while trying to restart for 30-45 seconds.
2015 dodge journey purchased new car wont start cant move gear shifter to nuteral or any other gear seems to be a bad problem with them i've checked google for solutions and apparently this is a real problem for this car as many complaints as i've read i've tryed everything i can to solve this problem
'takata recall' every winter my dodge journeys 'service awd, abs light, and traction light' will come on when the sensor gets cold and wet. it shifts out of awd completely. this has been an issue every single winter. it is recalled on 2012-2015 models but for some odd reason my 2015 model is not included in that recall. very frustrating.
Everytime it rains the car floods on either the passenger side or driver side. this is caused electrical malfunctions and lights to flicker. may lead to early corrosion and frame instability.

Key fob should not go out so soon. car do not start. i changed battery. it will unlock and lock doors but do not start. i called dodge 8004236343 and they told me that i can start it with the key but there is no where to put the key other than the door. then they asked me to put the key fob to the push start on the opposite side of where i insert the emergency key and press to start and that did not work. they walked me through step by step and it still does not work. plus my car shakes while driving.
I have a 2015 dodge journey that has had major problems with it. before the car was even a year old it was taking into the shop for transmission problems. the car completely shut off on me while driving in the middle of a busy intersection while i was turning left. the car would not restart and had to be towed to the dealership. at that point, the service was escalated to a higher department and a high level repair person was brought in. less than 15,000 miles later, the car began heavily shaking every time it was driven. the find was that there was a missing bolt in the tie rod. the service man said there was no reasonable excuse that could explain how this would even occur. today, the car is in the shop for the second time in three days. initially for the batter light coming on while driving. i was told there was a loose wire and some corrosion on the batter but that it was repaired. less than 24 hours later then light came on again while driving this time with the warning on the panel that read battery saving mode. i immediately returned the car to the shop. waited all day yesterday only to be given the same explanation that was previously given. upon further probing i discover the car had never even been re inspected. the car continues to be in the shop has has been undrivable for 4 days now. i have a 6 year old sone who is transported in the vehicle daily. i'm beginning to fear for his safety in the car given its history and will no longer place him in harms way by driving in this car. the unbelievable serious problems that have occurred with this vehicle are alarming. especially, given the fact that there is no clear explanation as to why the issues are arising. these are not normal wear and tear complications. these are serious manufacturing issues.

The abs warning light is illuminated, but there is no trouble codes. there has been a recall alert, about the electronic stability of such i found online.

Dodge recall r61 well i have a 2015 dodge journey and i was having torque converter problems in which the dealer covered but while they were in there they also discovered there was an engine wiring harness in which water leaked on from a manufacturer made hole which had a screw that got lose and corroded my wires which controlled the abs dash components lights referencing to recall # r61.. i'm sure that this vehicle and maybe others have been affected outside of which they claim. i'm not understanding why my car wasn't recalled on this matter?! when the problem is identical to recall r61 ... please someone help me.. it's really ashamed that only some cars are getting fixed and others are out $2000 and more because of dates i which i know not about but problems are identical.. i feel this is vital for investigation for the safety and well being of dodge customers. i'm just glad i caught this problem before anything serious happened as they claim could while my kids was in the vehicle. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻😭😭😭😭😭😭 pls help get to the bottom of this.

Car suddenly turned off while in motion causing wheel and rim damage as well as back number damage. replaced battery after check engine light came on at which time the vehicle operated fine the previous day and had been sitting overnight(diagnosed by auto zone), replaced on 6-jul-18. today 18-jul-18 absolutely no lights or power to the vehicle. i have tried jumps and car is still inoperable. it gets so hot in here that the interior surfaces are melting and chipping off.
The vehicle will lose power while driving down the road and simultaneously the traction control light activates followed by the car launching forward and the service awd and abs lights activating. the vehicle was taken to a chrysler garage which duplicated the problem and saw the faults in the computer. however the garage was unable to formulate a solution. they stated they checked all the connections and ran the vehicle approximately 160 miles without any additional occurrences and released the vehicle without any further repair. 4 days later and approximately 150 miles the problem recurred in a parking lot while backing up with the lights activating in the same sequence.
Purchased vehicle in april of 2015, transmission pump went out on it in july 2016 while on vacation moving through the entrance gaits at where we were staying. was fixed under warranty on vacation. dealership did not even give us a loaner while waiting. the following april 2017, it happened again while driving to work only they had replace entire transmission. now my vehicle jerks when switching gears and stalls randomly when i come to a stop. i am at 76k miles. this new transmission is still under warrenty since it has not been a year. this car is a lemon!!! i will be getting rid of it soon. i was hoping to keep it after i paid it off, but i don't think it will last for me to see it get paid off! i have also had a seat track fixed and the radio and navigation replaced, as well as the wiring harness for the steering wheel and cruise control. all during warrenty thankfully. makes me angry because i do not want to start over on a loan and i will not be able to buy at the same interest rate.

While driving down the highway, my alternator went out. the battery light came on and all of the lights started flashing. i managed to exit the freeway and get to a safe point. i am reporting this because i see that there was a recall on 2011 - 2014 models. the very same thing happened to my vehicle.
An unknown issue is completely draining the battery. thus, rendering the truck inoperable. the auto door locks would not work and the vehicle would not start. the first occurrence took place roughly two months ago. the service department at darcars temple hills, md, tried to convince me that i left my truck running. this time, same exact issue took place.
On several occasions, my journey has just shut down while in motion. this has happened to me and my husband. lights go off, engine will not start, cannot push the brake to initialize startup. online i have found many others with the same problem. some believe that it is related to the key fab. the electronics key is not being recognized and shutting down the car. i took it to dodge dealer and of course they could not duplicate problem or get a code. however, the danger of this is unacceptable!! i have two boys under the age of four! will a death have to occur to investigate this!?

Air conditioner randomly turns on. upon acceleration and or starting or stopping car. at a stop sign or light.
Battery light came on followed by check engine light. then received a message saying battery saver mode. car function such as remote start and radio were not working. my battery was completely dead and replaced it with a new one. 4 days later, same problems occured. this time car shut off while driving. this was very scary and extremely dangerous. i have been having so many problems with this car ever since my factory warranty expired.
One week after purchasing vehicle, navigation system had errors. when attempting to find route, received two error messages. "can't unlock maps" and "detailed maps are required for routing. no detailed maps found on this unit." took vehicle to the dealership (still under warranty) and they performed software upgrade and said it was now working. went to leave dealership, started vehicle, and error messages returned. dealership said they'd now have to order new radio as this was a common problem. also told the dealership about message that appeared on dash that said "key has left vehicle" - even though i had the key fob on my person, was sitting in the driver's seat, and my engine was running. also received an error message about the fuel cap and the low fuel icon stayed on for two days after filling with fuel. readjusted the fuel cap twice and icon still remained and then disappeared after two days on it's own. dealership said they'd look at it if it happens again. possibly related to the computer system issue.
When in motion going at variety speeds the car stalls mid movement and power steering stops. it has happened at stops as well as in motion.
June 2017: ignition failure, total component replacement; july 2017, september 2017; july 2018: camshaft position sensor failure resulting in engine stall, full electrical system failure and total vehicle shutdown at highway speeds (60+mph) forced to coast vehicle to a stop; beginning july 2017 intermittent and ongoing: unresponsive transmission resulting in delayed or not changing of gears, elevated rpm readings while mph stays stuck (i.e. 4500+ rpms but vehicle will not accelerate past 40mph), extremely deceased average miles per gallon with no significant change to driving habits or miles driven (i.e. previous average appox 19.9 mpg, current read 13.2 with); vehicle out of service 55 days for repairs in the last calendar year
Drivers head rest deployment . sitting in vehicle at a standstill in parking lot. stepped on brake to start engine and drivers head rest deployed, hitting driver in back of head and forcing head into steering wheel. no major injury, other than headache and bruise on forehead. the vehicle has never been involved in rear accident. gathered car fax information to prove no damage. mileage approx 39,000. i purchased the vehicle from reputable dealer (enterprise car sales - san antonio) on december 28, 2016. current driver has not been involved in rear-end collisions, bumps or damage to rear of vehicle. dealer claims not responsible for vehicle. original factory warranty expired at 36,000 miles. local dodge dealership claimed not covered and not a factory defect. insurance company claims not a covered damage, so not responsible. this should be considered a safety hazard. tried to reset headrest, but will not go back into place. currently have it held together with a leather belt. concerns whether the passenger headrest will deploy without warning. i feel the manufacturer should replace the headrest at no charge to the vehicle owner.
While my husband was driving home from work on 3/14/17, he stopped to help a fellow officer that was stranded, he got out of the vehicle and was helping the other officer he smelled smoke and looked back and saw that it was our car on fire. the fire occurred in the front drivers side door panel, he was able to drive the vehicle home,after he thought the fire was out. the next day he drove the car to the auto shop,while on the way there the fire restarted,he was able to make it to the body shop. the vehicle sat at the dealer ship for 13 or 14 days before we finally got the okay from chrysler to fix it. the mecahanical part was fixed, however the sever smell from the smoke,burnt rubber,and plastic was not. we did take the vehicle back,and the dealership did do everything they could to get the smell out, the smell is still there. this is the only vehicle we have.so we have had no choice, but to drive it. my boys both have severe asthma and allergies, so riding in a car with a constant odor of smoke and burnt stuff is extremely unhealthy. my husband has also had a cough from the smoke inhailation that occurred, he is currently coughing stuff up outta his lungs. i have made at least 20-25 phone calls to chrysler, and have not received one back, we have not even received the report from the fire inspector that they sent. i would really just like to get some answers and know my rights. any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
Navigation system defective. unit stopped working less than year after purchasing new. dealer stated entire unit needs to be replaced. researched issue online and the defect is reported repeatedly by owners of 2015 dodge journeys. defect appears to be systemic but a recall has not been issued by dodge and they refuse to cover once basic warranty (3yr / 36,000 mi) expires.
Have a 2015 journey. suspension has been replaced, cooling system replaced, and now transmission replaced. seat belts keep not working right with lights coming on. air conditioning will not shut off on it's own. have had it to the dealer for at least 11 weeks so far this year at 5 different times. still having problems with the steering wheel vibration over 50 miles, air conditioner not shutting off and vehicle hesitates a lot. gears do not shift correctly from park to reverse. *tr
I have had this car 5 times in two months to the dealership for the same thing. something has been killing the battery. the dealer has not been able to find what is wrong outside of replacing the new battery. it is at yucca valley chrysler center in yucca valley ca 92284 760-228-1818. this could be an safety issue if the car stops in traffic and will not start.
I loose control of the windows most of the time. i had the main window control switch replaced, and the problem still did not go away, please help.
I purchased my vehicle in november 2015, just two weeks ago while stopped at a light my vehicle just turned off . when trying to restart my vehicle jolted then turned on, i took to the dealership they stated all it needed was a software update and it would fix it and that it would never happen again. while 4 days later it happened again this time the vehicle was in motion we were turning a corner and bam the car turns off again almost getting slammed by another vehicle. i had to help my.husband pull the wheel to turn, the steering wheel locked braked didn't work or accelerator. i opened a case with chrysler and they say they can't do anything for me. i really need help.with this some please help this is a unsafe vehicle
