My oil light would blink on and off when i was stopped at a red light. the car only has 102,000 miles on it and the engine started to knock really loud. i have taken it to a garage to see about getting it fixed but will need a new engine. with what i still owe on the car and the price of these engines (they are hard to find because so many people have needed to replace them) it is not even worth getting fixed at this point. *tr

Purchased a 2000 dodge intrepid from dadeland dodge in miami, fl. the car is qualified for the lemon law 3 months after purchase, but unaware of such a law and never filed. now it is too late. it is now i decided to take action since the engine blew on 04/12/03. my brother in law was driving and the engine just stopped without warning. i called for a tow truck to be taken to the dealer. the car has about 65,000 miles, and the extended warranty should have covered the repairs; however, the dealer declined. i ended up paying $2,714.87 to get the engine rebuilt. in addition, i also don't have a car for 2 months, and disputed with the dealer and extended warranty company during that span. *la

Premature engine failure on a dodge intrepid 2000 the only 56,000 miles
On feb 17,2006,my kids was going out of town after about 55 miles out of town. my daughter heard a sound under the hood, the oil light came on she pulled over on interstate 10 . then she tried to start it up again and it wouldn't start. the tow truck came after about an hour. took it to the shop and we was told the engine had locked up (blew). it only have about 71,000 miles, bought at about 18,300 miles paid cash. i was told it is hard to find a used motor and it will cost from 2,500-3,000 to fix it and a new motor will cost 4-6,000 dollars. we can't afford that we have 2 kids in college and 2 kids to graduate next year and plus 2 smaller kids,on a fixed income and my husband is disabled. someone needs to do something about this problem because i have read a lot of complaints tonight. i would have never known this many people was having the same problem i am having. this is a shame. please do something. thank you *jb
