Passenger side sliding door makes loud buzzing noise when locking or unlocking the doors. i have researched the issue and it appears other people have had the same issue with this make and model.
The sliding door makes a buzzing sound upon locking the door. the vehicle was stationary.
Automatic second row passenger doors and or locks are sealed shut. the doors cannot be opened or closed and are sealed completely and totally shut. there is no manual over ride system to manually open and close the doors or to manually unlock the doors to open them. these are the doors that children use to get in and out of the vehicle as these are the seats that children, toddlers, and babies ride in. these doors are completely and totally sealed shut and cannot be opened manually. they may or may not be locked and cannot be unlocked manually either. the auto mechanic cannot get inside of these door panels to find out what is wrong even after stowing the seats as there is also no way to get the door panels off from the inside of the car while the doors are sealed shut. you have to open the doors to get the door panels off to look inside of the doors to see what is wrong. but, you cannot do this because the doors are sealed shut. faulty and defective design and engineering! serious safety issue for children! mechanic cannot get any information from dodge about how to fix problem. doors have been sealed shut for 6 months. cannot get in or out of either door in second row. no manual override of any kind to use doors as manual doors. automatic door design and automatic lock design are defective and present a serious safety issue. dodge not telling dealers or mechanics how to fix this either. it is a mystery and dodge is not sharing information to get it fixed.
Loud buzzing noise on sliding door unlocking mechanism rear passenger
Driver's side sliding door stuck locked shut. cant even manually unlock
Right passenger sliding door is stuck in locked position. unable to open or unlock the door, and there is no manual override. this creates a safety issue due to inability to get my young child out. this problem occurred out of nowhere, one day it worked and the next it wasn't. the vehicle was stationary. the van only has 36 thousand miles on it.
First incident was in august 2017.i had service done because the driver's side sliding door stopped working and did not open. second incident - this august 2019 the same door stopped working and does not open. third incident - now my passenger side sliding door does not open either. both sliding doors currently do not open. they are locked with no manual way to unlock or open. these doors are faulty and a serious safety concern. i have to small children that in the event of an emergency, are not able to escape. dodge service centers aren't able to provide courtesy vehicles during the repair, which according to my experience, would take approximately 3-4 days to repair the faulty sliding door. there are several complaints regarding these sliding doors. if the same issue keeps happening with these doors, then the problem is not with the users. the issue is in the mechanism of these sliding doors.
Passenger rear sliding door makes extremely loud buzzing noise when any doors lock or unlock. there had been no damage done to the vehicle and this came completely random. very disappointed in dodge! i walked out hit unlock on the key fob while vehicle was stationary in my driveway. heard buszzzzzzz super loud got nervous couldn't figure out the noise. i figured it out when i turned the ignition and the doors then locked and the noise happened again. has now happened everytime since then and it's extremely loud.
The liftgate will not open. somedays it will open by push button or by the fob, but when it stops working it will be weeks before it starts to work again. the liftgate wont open manually which can be a safety hazard if there was a. emergency. the car is parked when this happens.
The passenger door is stuck locked. tried using fob states unlock door.
The sliding door on passenger side will not unlock. this is a safety issue as having children in there car seat and can't open the door to get them out. i have read many complaints on the car gurus site with the same problem. many say dodge is aware of the problem but has not issued a recall, but will repair it for $$$$. i was in a store parking lot when this happened and could not get the door to unlock to get my grandson out. the door still will not unlock.
When hitting the unlock button on either door, the right back sliding door makes a loud buzzing noise. it makes this noise any time we hit unlock.
2c4rdgcg8gr[xxx] 2016 dodge grand caravan with >28,000 original miles. vin # 2c4rdgcg8gr[xxx] 1st ' a few weeks ago the original key fob began not always unlocking the doors or starting the car. i had a new battery put in key fob but the problems continued. i had aaa test my car battery and it was good. 2nd - cluster lights began randomly flashing and dinging a few weeks ago after the key fob problems began. this last week or two the digital speedometer also began spinning upward and downward at a high rate of speed, randomly. these problems have progressively worsened becoming more frequent and with more systems flashing. one red light has even appeared under the green letter n, for neutral. no name and no symbol, just a red light. on wednesday the 21st, i had my battery tested again and the alternator tested at auto zone and o'reilly's, both said they are good. i had the original fob plus another new fob programmed to the car on wednesday, aug. 21, 2019 at courtesy dodge in mesa, az. the next day, thursday, 1 fob started the car and took us to walmart without incident. however, the fob would not open any door nor start the vehicle when we were ready to leave the store. finally called my son-in-law and he brought the other fob. neither fob would do anything for quite awhile, then finally 1 worked. i'm quadriplegic so having an unreliable vehicle and being stranded away from home in 114 degree heat is extremely dangerous. on friday we took the dodge to auto zone, they again said my car battery was fine. on saturday the 24th napa and auto zone checked for codes on the dodge. came up with u110a. today, sunday, aug 25, 2019 neither fob worked again. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tt
A few months ago the passenger side rear sliding door on my 2016 dodge grand caravan stopped operating with my children in the vehicle. the door is stuck in lock position and i am unable to open the door at all. today the other sliding door (driver side rear sliding door) stopped working, locking my 4 month old, 2 year old and 4 year old in the rear of the van. we were able to climb over the middle console in the front seat to get the children out. if this was an emergency situation, all of our lives could've been in danger due to the doors not opening. i've researched it and it seems to be a very common problem among dodge/chrysler vans in the last 10 years.
Drivers side sliding door does not unlock. causing vehicle door not to open on command. was told it has faulty actuator. to manually unlock it is extremely difficult for small children. could become hazard in an emergency.
Owned dodge grand caravan rt 2016 one year sliding door on driver side stopped working from one day to next. then driving down hill from freeway, brakes made a loud screeching sound and the whole van was shaking i thought i was gonna loose control i replace new brakes and drum its better but still shaky going down hill. after month of owning the car i could fill a lil misfire when i give a lil gas but just thought its an rt has power. well recently my van been in the shop twice for the same problem check engine light came on shows its miss firing (ignition coils) and sparkplugs needed to be replaced. well we replace all spark plugs and 1 ignition coil because the other coils were still good. things were good and drove around for 3 weeks then check engine light comes again. code still shows ignition coil need to be replace. this time replace all 6 ignition coil, guess what i just picked up my van today and 10 min of driving back home check engine light comes on again. took it back to the mechanic it still miss firing ignition coils. i about ready to throw this van away. this van is only 3 years old how could it possibly have this much problems. in addition when i turn on my signal light on to go right or left my wipers will go off too.
Both the driver side and passenger side rear power sliding doors will not open manually or via the power buttons on the key. the driver side rear door did stopped opening at 38k miles and the passenger side rear door stopped working at 46k. this is a safety issue as we have children in carseats, and we cannot open the doors to remove them.
2016 grand caravan r/t - driver side sliding door lock is stuck. it responds to nothing. pressing the dome panel button does nothing. trying to lock/unlock with the driver's lock button or the remote does nothing. the door lock switch moves, but has a "mushy" feel and never seems to engage or disengage. i've tried pushing the door open (out and back) with as much force as it seems i can without breaking something. nothing. the door is effectively locked shut and the lock mechanism seems to have failed. to me, this is a big safety concern.
3 year old van, purchased new, less than 100k miles, transmisdon died & car is out of warranty. no help from dodge or dealership.
Ret'd from a week long trip into my driveway, ready to unload clothes, etc. driver side sliding door would not activate, nor could i open it manually. tried, tried, tried - both manually and with key fob & with button above dash, to no avail. in early am left military facility lodging in indiana - no prob. took to local hertrich dealer pocomoke city, md. indicated 'actuator' at a cost of over $700. decided to check recall possibility as a true safety problem if my great grand children were inside. started copying all the 2019 complaints only to find out that out of 222 complaints the large majority are related to this problem. surely dodge should put out a recall. sudden, unexpected, had bought 2016 dodge as used car w/remaining warranty. had to fix passenger side door while still under warranty because of a growling sound in mid 2017. hertrich dodge can provide those details. yes, i want this covered, after seeing all the complaints just in 2019. will inform my dodge dealer re this complaint & await a recall surely! car has over 79k miles. at 81, don't need someone killed or injured on my watch because they cannot exit in an emergency! 7/2/19 - am lvg lodging fine; home in driveway it occurred.
Passenger side sliding door lock is stuck in the locked position. it will not unlock with the key fob or by manually unlocking. it has worked fine for the 2 and 1/2 years we have had the vehicle and then it suddenly stopped working.
Drivers side sliding door is stuck in locked position and cannot open door manually or with key fob or any other buttons that would normally open door. cannot manually unlock door and when i try to open it it says you have to unlock first but cannot. *dt*jb
Driver's side sliding door would not open manually, with the key fob button, or with either button inside the vehicle. door was also stuck in "lock" position and could not be unlocked manually, with key fob, or with interior buttons.
When the car is in park, ignition on or off, the driver's side sliding door is locked and closed and will not open using the keyfob, the door button on the ceiling console, the door button on the door wall, the inside or outside door handles. the lock will not manually lock or unlock. you cannot exit the van on that side.
Driver's side rear sliding door stuck shut and locked. will not unlock. will not open. just pulled in the driveway and went to grab laundry from the backseat and the door will not open
Stationary in driveway, drivers side rear door unable to open manually or electronically. brought to dealership where purchased and left it to the tune of $296 labor for diagnosing. not fixed that would be another $600 for parts plus labor. needs to be recalled, dangerous if in a accident.
The actuators in both sliding doors have failed. the driver's side sliding door will not unlock and cannot be opened. the passenger side sliding door cannot be locked. this is a safety issue. we need to exit the car when needed and not worry about whether the doors will operate. likewise, we need to have confidence that our car is locked and that no one can enter while we're in it or while it's parked. the repair for this problem is over $2000.00. i have come to learn that this is a known problem to dodge and yet they have not taken care of it! they should recall these vans and provide a fix. *dt consumer had the vehicle repaired.*jb
Drivers side sliding door won't open or unlock, manually or with fob or ceiling button.
My passenger side sliding door stopped working. i tried opening it manually and with the key off and dome switch, but not doing anything. even with vehicle in start and also parked.
Driver side sliding door is stuck in the lock position. it wont unlock with the remote, button inside or manually. keeps showing error messafe if you try to open it that the door needs to be unkocked but will not unlock. very unsafe since minivans are for family's and bow in the case of emergency i cant open that door. especially since the vehical has less than 60k miles on it.
Left sliding door will not open from inside or outside the vehicle. passengers on that side would be trapped in the vehicle in an emergency. it will not open with key fob or manually, from inside or outside.
Sliding door behind driver locked will not unlock. googled problem many vehicles with same problem. i use these as school bus and cannot use it now.reading about problem dodges fix is a 1100.00 dollar fix.
I have a 2016 dodge grand caravan and every time i unlock the door or lock it it makes this loud buzzing noise, the door works fine it opens and close. but when using the unlock button from the key everyone can hear the load buzzing noise took the car to dealer and they stated the problem was a faulty door lock actuator. they want $650.00 dollars to fix the problem.
Rear driver side sliding door has completely stopped operating. will not open either manually or electrically. it is as if it is permanently locked. passengers on that side cannot exit the vehicle that side, making it a serious safety hazard.
Both sliding doors will not open - jammed in locked position. cannot manually or electronic open. this is very dangerous as i cannot get my grandkids out of the van in an emergency. also unable to use the van if there are more than 2 adults. there was no incident that caused this. worked one day...next day didn't work. happened within a couple weeks of each other (the doors)
Drivers side sliding door locked and cannot be unlocked with power controls or manually. googled and found many people have the same problem.
All of a sudden the passenger side is only blowing heat no cold air.
While in my driveway (vehicle was stationary), i attempted to open the driver side sliding door. the door was not working manually or electronically. dashboard screen said unlock door to operate, but the door is stuck in lock.
Approximately 1 week ago my rear driver sliding door became stuck. upon searching online for a fix i found what appeared to be hundreds, if not thousands of people with the same problem. i attempted every thing we could think of. trying to open or unlock the door via manually, via key fob, and via interior buttons. nothing will open this door. it is stuck and cannot become opened or unlocked. my daughter has a disability and sits on this side. this is a serious safety issue that dodge needs to address. does my daughter have to die by being trapped in the van before dodge does something? this isn't a new problem and is affect multiple dodge vehicles.
The vehicle would not start. and as a result i had to have it towed to rick hartman in aberdeen, wa. when the vehicle arrived it still would not start and so it just sat there. the next day, they attempted to start it which it did. but no codes came up. my attempts to get help from dodge have come up a zero. they opened a case for me and stated that someone named amber would get ahold of me in 1-2 days. that did not happen. no loaner was offered. and it is still sitting there a week and a half later with no action.
Passenger side rear power sliding door is locked shut. it will not unlock manually or via key or interior unlocking button. there is no way to open this door. this is a safety concern; if anything were to happen to require this door to be used as an emergency exit, there would be no way to get the passengers out of the vehicle.
The passenger side sliding door automatically locked while i was driving as it should. however once the lock engaged, it would not unlock and the door became inoperable from both the inside and the outside. this is incredibly dangerous, because if there was an emergency i or first responders could not quickly get to my son, especially if the other door were to fail in the same way.
The rear driver side sliding door will not open. one day it just stopped working. this car was not even 1 year old when this happened only 40,000 miles on the car. i have came to the conclusion this is a common problem among dodge caravan but this is a huge safety issue. most people that purchase a minivan have young children and having a door that doesn't open poses a serious risk in an emergency. i have read many post with people having the same issue and hopefully they will file a complaint as well.
The driver side sliding door faults to locked position. cannot manually override lock with the any action. the leaves passengers in the rear trapped in an emergency situation. this is the case if the vehicle is stationary, in motion, in the city, on a highway, turning, and any other situation. it is always locked. the car has 50,000 miles.
When the car was at approximately 20,000 miles, the driver side sliding back door stopped opening. it appeared to be stuck between lock and unlock. it is unable to be unlocked with any amount of force, which rendered it unopenable from both the inside and outside of the car. it is a safety hazard which would prevent emergency services from getting to the passenger in the event of a crash or rollover. it renders a main exit useless in the event of an emergency.
Driver side sliding door remains locked shut. unable to open
My 2016 dodge caravan was parked in my driveway overnight. in the morning, the driver side sliding door wouldn't unlock neither manually or with the key fob.
Been for repair twice in 3 months first time sliding door on drivers side would not unlock .second time sliding door on passenger side won't lock . i feel these are safety issues
Driver side door stopped working will not open. this is unsafe for passengers insde the vehicle.
Takata recall - our problem is that the sliding side doors will not open. one played out about 6 months ago and the other played out a week ago. i've took it to be checked out at auto zone and none of the fuzzes were blown out. by it being considered a new vehicle the side doors shouldn't be having any problems!
