Tl* the contact owns a 2011 dodge grand caravan. the contact stated that the battery failed without warning. in addition, the windows rolled down and the locks locked and unlocked independently. the vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the tipm module failed. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 75,000.

Fuel pump wouldn't disengage causing me to keep taking out fuse which burned my thumbs. won't start at all now. shut off two times while driving on street almost causing accidents both times

Van would not start diffucult to start van would crank, happened to many times we have had several instance that required and tow as the vehicle would not start.i'm just research to internet the problem i'm just read similar complain and problem ,regards the van same my situation the tipm module defect ., i went to local mechanic just take a look the problem the mechanic said battery need to changes the key fod need the change and reset commputer,i'm spent around $800,00 dollar for everything and couples and months smell thing happened the van not start diffucult to start,i call a local dealership , i speak to service assosiates i told that if any recall tipm module but the guy said none , i'm afraid to drive the van stranded againt anytime just park to my parking lot couple week i don't have money to fix around$1200,00 the worst thing i'm still monthly payments to my van for nothing

For 1 month the vehicle was difficult to start. it would crank just fine, but the engine would not 'ignite' (especially when cold.) the vehicle would finally start after 5-10 long attempts (turning the engine over and over and then turning the key to the off position before trying again.) this difficult startup issue lasted for 4 weeks. at that point the vehicle began to stall after running for 10 - 20 minutes (sometimes while driving.) finally, after parking the vehicle one evening, the fuel pump continued to run after the engine was shut off and the key was removed. it wasn't noticed right away, so by morning the battery was completely dead. all my research indicated the fuel relay is faulty. but the relay is built into the tipm and there is no easy fix. this seems to be happening on all 2011 chrysler/dodge vehicles and there is even a recall on the dodge durango for the issue. this faulty tipm needs to be recalled and replaced. my local dealership has suggested that i get the relay 'fixed" using the fix mentioned in the durango recall. the service adviser suggested it would be around $400 (no guarantee) and that it would be reimbursed if the recall was extended to my make of vehicle at some point in the future. i'm worried that they are going to make it worse and wreck the tipm, which is a part that costs over $1000 (and hard to find.) i hope to update this complaint after the vehicle is 'fixed.' *js

our van would not start. the key was stuck in the ignition, so i had the van jumped, then towed to the dealer who said that the battery connectors were loose and that was the issue with the non-start. we get the van back and exactly one week later, the van will not start again. this time i check the battery cables, they are good, so i try to jump the van. this time nothing happens, so i have it towed. the tow truck driver having remembered me from last week says he thinks its a bad battery and his shop can install a new battery no problem. so i take his word. we get to their shop but they find that the battery is not the issue. their diagnostic shows that the win module needs to be reset and potentially the entire system needed to be flashed. so they get the van running again, i drive it home. the next day, dead. i try to jump it again, nothing again; however, i am now armed with potent information. so i have the van towed to the dealer again. they remember me too now. i tell them what was found from the diagnostic ran from the shop. thus far they are saying that everything is testing fine but they are not sure what is draining the battery. i feel they are totally unaware of the tipm failure that is currently under investigation. i will alert them of this, but i am not very hopeful as the part is apparently on a national back order. good thing i have a huffy. *tr

I was driving to go pick up my wife and i was on a back two lane road when my van just shut off. i put it in neutral and it took a couple of times to restart but eventually did. since then my vehicle has had a few issues with starting. i have had a mechanic look at it but he sees nothing wrong. it also happened to my wife while traveling down the road. she was at a traffic light when it just turned green. she put her foot on the accelerator and it stopped in heavy traffic. she was with my youngest son and he was scared to death. we keep having to have road side assistance to come jump start it. today january 17, 2015 the man come out to jump start it and it is completely dead. we used to hear this sound like air coming from the rear driver side tire but nothing now. he said to me it may be a fuel pump. *tr

For over a year have attempted to have recall p25/ nhtsa 14v-234 remediated at local dealer spot dodge in pleasentville nj. each time there is an excuse and the promise of a call when the recall can be completed. to date have never received a call.

On thanksgiving morning 2014, me and my family went out to go to visit family for thanksgiving dinner, but the vehicle would not start. it would crank and crank, but never come close to turning over. the gas tank was full, the battery was fine, but clearly it wasn't getting gas. we obviously couldn't go anywhere. after using our other vehicle, we managed to make it to dinner (though obviously late). the next day, i had the car towed in, and several days later when the dealership finally had the time to analyze what was wrong, i was notified of the tipm problem. so far, it's been nearly a week and there is still no further news on when we can get it fixed. i've been told there are only 300 tipm's in the country and that they are unsure when they can get the part. thus far, i've been told that it would be covered by my extended warranty, and that the part is "approximately" $700 and labor would be "about" $200, so i don't yet know what it'll cost. i do know that it will cost me $50 for the warranty deductible. while that is not a large amount, the more troubling issue is that i'm now paying for the loan and insurance on a vehicle that i cannot use for reasons that were entirely out of my control and for a period of time that is unknown. *js

Vehicle will not start and will stop while driving. three different batteries have been drained to the point of going bad. dodge service center has identified the problem as a faulty tipm (totally integrated power module). *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 dodge grand caravan. after numerous attempts, the vehicle was able to start. the failure occurred on numerous occasions. additionally, the contact stated that the totally integrated power module (tipm) failed intermittently, but the specifics of the failure were not available. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was notified. the failure mileage was 78,000.

After being told by the dealer our van wouldn't start due to the alternator, we decided to have the alternator looked at. the other mechanic found nothing to be wrong with the alternator. the dealer also said we needed our fuel pump replaced. we have had other vehicles that needed fuel pumps replaced and when the fuel pump went out we were not able to drive it at all. my husband was at an appointment and after turning off van he heard something running. the sound was tracked to the fuel pump. so the dealer wasted our time and money all the time trying to have us replace parts that would not have corrected the problem. after calling and trying to get a fuel pump regulator we discovered the fuel pump regulator is built into the tipm. we have a faulty tipm. i wish dodge would get off their butt and issue a recall already. the only way a can shut the fuel pump off is to unhook the battery. *tr

The problems began with the vehicle not starting on the first attempt. sometimes it takes several attempts to turn over. the windshield wipers come on for no reason and won't shut off for a while. sometimes the fuel pump continues to run even when the car is turned off. the battery had been drained completely and needed replacement shortly after purchase. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 dodge grand caravan. the contact stated that there was an abnormal burning odor in the vehicle. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 14v234000 (electrical system) however the part to do the repair was not available. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for recall repair. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 86,499. parts distribution disconnect.

Our 2011 dodge grand caravan started having major electrical issues, where the vehicle would run, but the blinkers, the dash lights, heater/ac, radio, and bluetooth would all not work at once. the win module had to be replaced. as soon as that was done, the vehicle would not start. then, shortly afterwards, when the vehicle was parked in our enclosed garage we noticed a phantom noise coming from the vehicle. after investigation we were able to determine that the vehicle had not turned all the way off, but was in fact still running and producing carbon monoxide. we tried turning it on and off again several times to see if it would turn all of the way off, to no avail. let me be clear. our vehicle was turned off. it was in an enclosed garage with the usual amount of ventilation, i.e. very little. like most homes, we have bedrooms both above the garage, as well as one next to it. so, being unable to make our car safe to park in the garage, we had back it out into the driveway, where it ran until the battery died. then, my husband, drove the car twice to the repair shops and both times the odometer stopped working, the gas pedal would not work, all dashboard lights came on, he could not accelerate, and the power steering went out. the second time it died on a main road, and had to be towed. *tr

Bases on what i found with my local mechanic and online my van a faulty tipm. dodge currently has a recall out for other vehicle with a bad tipm but claims my van in not affected by it. my van has hard starts or it will start the stall. it takes about 8-10 times before it will start and stay running. also my fuel pump will stay running even after i take the key out. if i do not remove the fuel pump fuse the pump will until the battery dies. *tr

My van will try to start but it just keeps trying to turn over. i have to manually turn the key back off and wait, it usually takes about 3 times for it to actually start. it makes the clicking noise like its a starter or battery but both have been checked and are fine. *tr

2011 dodge grand caravan 3.6l - problems begin around september with issues cranking the vehicle. the engine would turn over but it was having trouble picking up the fuel. after several attempts the van would start and run fine in the beginning. the issue progressively got worse and more complex. on several occasion while driving, the vehicle lost fuel pressure and stalled momentarily , then picked up fuel again. in november the fuel pump begin not shutting off after the ignition had been switched off and other times it would not pump at all. around the first of january the vehicle stranded us on vacation for 7 hours only to crank once we jumped the van with another vehicle. after that the only way i could start the vehicle in the morning is by jumping it with another vehicle. this week, thinking that there was a short in the fuel pump i replaced it ($300.00 parts only) and the problem continued. the fuel pump fuse (m25) was not blown but there was no power on it. i bypassed the fuel pump fuse with the rear power accessory fuse (m7) and the pump came on with the ignition switch. while the fuse is bypassed the vehicle starts and runs fine. after researching the problem online it appears that i may have a common problem with the tipm. hoping for a recall to help with this costly issue. *tr

The charge light came on. shut the engine off. restarted engine and the charger light, traction control lights came on. tried driving and the engine would not shift out of 1st gear. took the van to the dodge dealer and they told me the alternator needed to be replaced. *tr

In august 2014 our dodge grand caravan (2011) began having problems starting up immediately. this continued and progressively got worse as time went on. we were forced to try and coax the van to start by turning the ignition back and forth from accy (accessory) to start repeatedly, at times for up to 30-45 minutes before it would start. we experienced the van's engine shutting off for no reason at stoplights and in the middle of driving. at one point, the fuel pump would not turn off even though the van was off and the key removed from the ignition. we were forced to disconnect the battery every time we got out of the vehicle so as not to cause possible overheating of the fuel pump. once the fuel pump stopped running we were unable to start the van at all, leaving my stranded in my vehicle until i could be picked up. because this is our only vehicle we were forced to get the tipm replaced which cost $1114.68. *tr

Trouble starting vehicle, draining battery, fuel pump continuously running after vehicle is shut off and key is removed from ignition. i have looked up complaints online and hundreds of other owners have experienced the same problem for faulty tipm.

After arriving home from a 5 mile trip, after about 15 minutes of driving, pulled in driveway, turned off vehicle, saw smoke coming from button on ac unit which controls the speed of airflow for the ac. the smoke increased, smelled of chemicals and was clearly an electrical fire burning through ac knob. fire department was called. dash removed. fire was recreated by fireman twice. ac fuses were disconnected from battery by fireman. van was towed by aaa to dodge dealership for further inspection/repair. rental car was provided by dodge and covered for 5 days. today is the 5th day and dodge is still working on car. *tr

In my 2011 dodge grand caravan, while turning the key to the on position to start the car the key gets stuck in the starting/on position making the car not turn over but make noise as if im trying to start the car, while its already started & it's not. i physically have to turn the key back to the off position because it won't snap back by itself. & keep trying again until it will finally start. also while driving the car, it will shut off with no warning causing loss of power steering, leaving me to force the car to a safe zone to put the car in park and try to turn the car on. while googling this problem i see there's a problem with the wind modular/detent ring/igniton switch being recalled in 2008-2010 models. i took it to dodge dealership service department explained the problem and they ran a diagnosis, and they cleaned out the ignition switch and updated the system, and told me to remove my car key from my key chain and then told me nothing was wrong with the car. everyday since then the problem seems to be getting worst. and naturally i'm outside of my 36,000 limited warranty by 2 months by date and 10 miles over. (p.s) this seems to be the same problem that i seen in the news that gm originally knew about this problem since 2001 and my car is a 2011 and here it is 2014 with over 31 crashes and 13 deaths over faulty ignition switches and gm still continues to put not only my family lives at risk but many others. *js

Recall rear quarter vent window switch was disconnected by dealership due to safety recall. the dealership told us that the needed repair part is only coming in slowly now...(march 27, 2015) and that we will be noticed. we have not been able to use the rear windows from july 8, 2014....am getting very frustrated... *tr

On july 8, 2014 we had the van oil changed with dealership. was told after the service that they disconnected the rear quarter vent window switch due to safety recall. the parts are finally coming in very slowly and we were told today by the dealership that they will notify us (we are on the list). we have not been able to use the rear windows since july....over 8 months ago!!!.... getting very frustrated...have been on hold with chrysler now for 38 minutes!!... *tr

Driving on highway at 70 mph. charging light came on. tested at parts store and problem identified as alternator. only aftermarket available was a mopar and cost $400. fell this is a design flaw as the car is only 3 years old with 60k miles. *js

This started in july of 2014. we noticed that at first the wipers would stop randomly and after shutting them off they would not go to their home place. this appeared very random and did not alarm us. but what did was the vehicle would randomly not start. it would crank but not turn over. we would turn the key back off then try and start again and it would be fine. however for the last 2 weeks this has increasingly worsened. the vehicle will take up to 15 minutes to start. it will sometimes start and die, then not start for several minutes. after having a local shop check this issue out they have determined that the totally integrated power module is faulty and will need to be replaced to resolve this issue. at a cost of $505 for the part and several more hundred dollars for the labor this has been an extremely costly fix. *tr

The car stalled and steering became very difficult while driving on thruway... i was able to get car to side of road and it started back up but it was pretty scary event - i had my three daughters 2, 4 & 6 years old in the car at the time. this has happened before ... i took it into the dealer 6 weeks ago and was informed that the tipm is defective and that they are on back order - no eta on repair. i quick internet search reveals quite a few people with similar caravan problems... *tr

I have a 2011 dodge grand caravan with about 52,000 miles on it. on day the radio just went off and then turned back on. it did this multiple times before we sent it in to the shop. then one day it would not start. it would turn over but would not fire until i tried it 6 to 10 times and then it would start. we took it in to the dealer for a misfire in cylinder #2 ( recall on left head) but it started all the time for them, until i went to leave, and then no start. the tech was able to duplicate it and said we would trouble shoot it. a week later they called and said it is more then likely the tipm causing the problem and the part is backorder nationally and would cost me $1037 plus tax for the parts and labor. if it is back ordered then there is a big problem and chrysler knows about it. i hope they issue a recall soon so i can get my money back. *tr

Safety recall p25/nhtsa 14v-234 on the rear quarter vent window switch. dealer offered to disconnect until part comes in. i declined, i have since called 3 other times to see if the part is in, but the part is never in. *tr
