I parked my car at home. in the morning when i pressed the start switch to start the car crank, and it does not start. i wait a minute press the start switch again and the car keeps cranking no stopping until i move my gear from park to reverse. i remove the switch and i add my car key and try again with car key. after 3 times the car starts. i know there's a recall or lawsuit for this issue. i want my car fixed with no cost for me. i maintain my car in good shape and urge to get this done. this started this week 12/17/18

My durango had been repaired per recall r09, and now the vehicle is doing the same thing as it was before the repair, which is have failed starts, and the engine shutting down while driving ( very dangerous especially on the freeway).

Regarding safety recall r09 / nhtsa 15v-115 fuel pump relay - 2012-2013 dodge durango & jeep grand cherokee this recall was performed on my vehicle a few months ago, the other week the fix failed several times starting the car and once while the car was in motion. i took it back in to the dealer to get the fix redone, in the two days since the redo the car has already not started several times and stopped supplying power to the fuel pump while the car was in motion once. so in short, the fix for the original safety issue does not work and is even worse than before the fix. searching online several other people also have had the fix fail on them as well.

3 years after having my fuel pump relay recall performed on my 2012 durango crew the same exact symptoms are happening. stalling out while driving and the car will try to crank but not fully turn over. put the durango in the shop and it's the same problem again the fuel pump relay and we have to pay out of pocket for the repair. this part should not be failing again after a 30,000 mile 3year difference on a 70,000 mile car. what ever parts they used for recall are faulty and eventually fail. i should not have to have my fuel pump relay changed again on this car. dodge needs to take responsibility and fix the issue the first time and not put burden on their customers of their defects. i'm putting this out there for anyone having the same issue after their recall was fixed. complain! so we aren't responsible for dodge mistakes.

I've have an ongoing problem with the check engine light and feeling like the truck is going to stahl. can't remote start my truck because of this problem. i've taken it to get repaired several times for the same issue and still have not fixed the problem. i just got my truck back on 10/25/19 and didn't drive it until monday 10/18/19 and check engine light came back on and feeling like it's going to stahl. i want my truck to be repaired already.

Car not starting acts like not getting any fuel or may start and die like not getting enough fuel. auto headlights will shut off while driving or may not come on at all

The fuel pump relay harness wire that connects to the tipm box is causing problems with the vehicle to start. the added wire makes the other connections heat up and that has made a hole in the fuse box already and the fuel pump harness connection wire is burning up.

The battery gets drain out without warning it happens once or twice a month lately it's happening more often, my truck won't start even if the day before was running battery was check and it's fine. check engine light it's on now once the truck didn't want to turn on. took it to a mechanic and he said it was a relay issue. brakes are in the recall vin check list along one other recall. the lights inside turn on and off as well as if there is a short going on while in driving mode it feels like the truck is loosing power even though it has gas. i'm afraid to drive it.

External fuel pump relay installed as part of recall r09 has failed 2 years after replacement. the vehicle refused to start numerous times before finally completely non starting on 9.30.17 while at my home.

My dodge durango stopped working one week ago. at that time i looked online to find the alternator recall but that they would be notifying people at a later date. for a week they had my car and replaced the alternator knowing dodge had bad alternators and made me purchase a battery. my car again died the same day after my partner left the lot. after it was again towed for the second time they found that my car was now under the recall even though i had already told them there was an issue with my car. the website states there is no solution to the problem and now i am stuck with a broken car with my car value dropping significantly. dodge needs to refund me the money i have already spent plus mileage and gas communiting to and from viera to titusville florida driving my partner to work and picking my son up from school and going back and forth and emotional distress. this company should be ashamed of themselves. i am now stuck with a rental car and left in the dark as to what is happening to my car. in a separate incident i paid out almost 1,000 to go out to my car at the dealership to find it did not work. at that time the man walked inside and came back out with a piece for the fuel relay recall. i again want to know why this dodge dealership continues to charge me and play me for a fool. dodge should be embarrassed. how does someone now check for recalls before operating on a vehicle?

Check engine light on. test ran. detector-evaporative system issue. detector valve faulty. leak coming from gas cap and esim correction. replaced esim seal and gas cap. there was a recall for similar issue.

This vehicle has a lot of electrical issues. the push start doesn't always work and stalls out. the car has also lost power while i was driving luckily it kick back on before something serious happened. it also tends to shift gears very hard at times.

We had a recall fixed on the fuel pump relay and since then the vehicle stalls while driving.didn't do that before the work

Motor shuts off traveling down the road (happened 3 times since 2016). twice on a curve 30 - 40 mph & once down a straight away 60mph (scary). got on your web sight nhtsa recall # 19v-813. - manufacturer recall # v62. we have stopped driving the vehicle. called dodge gave me case # 74962415. talked to a [xxx] at dodge said he could not loan me a vehicle. ask him to let me speak to his superior...he said no. talked to bobilya dodge (local dealer). no help with this recall until they figure out a remedy. My dodge durando 2012 have to many problems my car stop withn is running several times a take to dealer the change the fuel pump and the nex day have enegine ligth take back to dealer now the said is catalyst , and arent but my car 2012 i believe is not to old to have to many problems i believe it's all factory default.

Engine stalled and car shut off. once from a stop while trying to accelerate and another time while trying to stop. in both instances an accident was nearly avoided. my wife on 9/13 was turning across traffic and the car died and she was almost t-boned. on 9/14 i almost rear ended a car as i was slowing to a stop and lost all power. wipers will come on randomly on dry, sunny days (while parked or in motion). car jerks forward intermittently when starting (using remote start or while in the car). occasionally the car continues to turn over but never actually starts. i have taken this to the dealer 7-8 times and they've never heard of these problems. no error codes recorded. never able to be reproduced when at the dealer. contacted another dodge dealer and they have never heard of these issues either. took to an independent mechanic and he immediately recognized this as a potential tipm issue. the fuel relay recall was implemented in summer of 2015 which was supposed to resolve these issue. however, all of these problems continue to intermittently occur - with the stalling (and near accidents) just occurring for the first time this past week. spoke with dodge yesterday explaining the situation and both dealers didn't want to sell me a new tipm because they weren't sure it would fix the problem and reiterated that the fuel relay recall would fix these issues. when i stated that i am still having the issues they didn't have an answer but were willing to take my car in on trade. we currently have 93000 miles but this started shortly after we purchased the durango; with well under 40000 miles. we were still under warranty when this started but no fault was ever found when at the dealer.

The engine regularly will not start when i push the button. it stalls over and over. sometimes leaving us stranded. this has been happening since at least 2016 and i have had all recalls repaired. the matter has never resolved! now i have been informed that the initial recall replacement part was faulty and dodge currently does not have a fix.

Check engine light on. test ran. detector-evaporative system issue. detector valve faulty. leak coming from gas cap and esim correction. replaced esim seal and gas cap. there was a recall for similar issue. another recall warranted?

The fuel pump is not working it is not getting gas unable to turn on car. the car was stationary.

While driving on the highway the car's engine shut down. i placed the car in neutral and restarted the engine with no difficulty. days later the car was parked and would not start. the engine turned normally but it seems like the fuel is not reaching the engine. it almost seems like a flooded engine. i researched it online and it seems to be an known issue with this car. the tipm (totally intergrated power module) seems to be the issue.

08-10-15 i called the dealership where i bought my vehicle, cowboy chrysler 409-385-3796 about the notice i received about two safety recalls r09 fuel pump relay and p36 sun visor wiring. i was told the dealership had gotten in 15 of the parts and used all 15 to repair vehicles. i was told i would be put on a list and called when more parts came in to the dealership. 08-21-15 i called the dealership again and was told they had gotten in 18 of the parts and i am third on the list to be called when more parts come in. can you help me get the necessary repair parts delivered to this dealership?

There has been numerous safety recalls on this year vehicle. we have taken it to our dealership numerous times only to be brushed off by saying the recall parts are not available yet. however while driving the car with all kids inside, the vehicle completely shuts off while traveling at approx. 35-45 miles per hour. now this is a safety concern and the vehicle will not start.

The fuel relay was recalled on my car (nhtsa # 15v-115); i was trying to drive and the car would not function. i took it to a dodge mechanic who stated that the problem was the internal fuel relay pump that failed. this is part of the tipm. the part that failed was part of the recall. prestige dodge stated that they would not fix the part, as the specific recalled part (part of the tipm) failed but there is no replacement. i called dodge customer care (case number 27223921) and was informed that i could either pay for full repair (as they would not cover the tipm replacement) or "drive with a faulty part"--those last were the dodge rep "katelyn's" exact words. i would not need the new tipm unless the fuel pump (which was recalled) failed--i was willing to take only the internal fuel pump, but dodge refuses to provide this part. at this point, dodge and prestige dodge is requesting that i pay out of pocket for a part failure caused, and acknowledged, but dodge. i am requesting assistance to make dodge uphold their part of the nhtsa recall and fix my car. there is a fix (replace the tipm), but they feel they shouldn't pay for it. the part has already failed, and they need to resolve the issue.

The local dodge dealership plaza dodge inverness florida has not been able to repair my vehicle. recalled for a fuel pump relay switch which could malfunction causing my vehicle to "stall while driving and cause a crash without warning". they tell me it could "easily be 6 months before they get the parts". this is unacceptable, this is a danger to my family and all the other vehicles on the road! recall was received in june 2015. that is too long for this to wait.

For the past week our vehicle has been having trouble turning on some times the engine is going but the vehicle is not on. today my husband was driving down the freeway going 65-70 mph when the engine turned completely off with no warning he was on the fast lane so he had to safely go to the right lane to a safe place before the vehicle lost anymore speed and cause an major accident. he tried turning it on and did with trouble and was able to move it out of the freeway. i called the dealership and they are stating it will take 1- 12 months to get the part for the recall for a permanent fix or we would have to pay for a temp. fix. what can we do?

R09/nhtsa 14v-115 parts not available until sept - notice states that fuel pump could fail and car will stall. i drive kids around all day and do not need the added stress of wondering if my car is going to fail in the middle of traffic. its ridiculous to expect people to wait 6 months to get a vehicle fixed. this is the third recall on the vehicle for parts failing - in my opinion that speaks volumes toward the quality of vehicle dodge provides, not to mention the poor service of not getting the right parts out to fix a potentially dangerous problem. seriously....why send out notices if there are no plans to fix an issue for 6 months. i'll never buy another dodge, this is my first and last - i've owned chevrolet all my life and never had this many problems. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 dodge durango. the contact stated that it took several attempts to start the vehicle. the vehicle would not start until after the fuel pump relay fuse was disconnected and reconnected. the failure recurred on several occasions. while driving approximately 10 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. the vehicle was not taken to the dealer. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 15v115000 (electrical system); however, the part needed to do the repair was unavailable. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 85,000.

Driving normally for about an hour. made 10 minute stop. came out and car would not fire. cranked for 20 seconds twice and nothing. waited 5 minutes and it started. went to pull out into traffic and it stalled. cranked again, nothing. then started. it happened again 2 days later. took to dealer and they said it was a faulty tipm and not covered by warranty. *tr

I received recall notice r09 originally in mid march 2015. i called michigan city chrysler dodge jeep 219-872-8600 700 e. us 20, michigan city, in 46360 to schedule the repair. they notified me that the parts were not available and put me on a "paper" call list. today august 13, 2015 i received my second recall notice on r09. i called michigan city chrysler dodge jeep 219-872-8600 700 e. us 20, michigan city, in 46360 again to schedule the repair and received the same answer as in march. it has been 5 months now from the original notice and it is clear this dealership has no intention of making the recall repairs within a reasonable time.

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 dodge durango. the contact stated that the vehicle would not start because it was not receiving fuel from the relay. the vehicle was taken to a dodge dealer where it was confirmed that the vin was included in a recall; however, the part was unavailable. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 15v115000 (electrical system). the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 60,000.

Our dodge durango 2012 was purchased in january 2015 from rick keefer dodge chrysler jeep ram in yulee, florida. two weeks later the engine light lights up and the engine is sputtering. returned the car to dealer whom repaired vehicle and said it was the oxygen sensor and replaced. again the engine light came on and the engine ran rough. returned the car to dealer whom repaired and said they replaced the converter. soon again the engine light came on. found fuel cap 'popped off' a few times, engine light goes out then on again. returned to dealer whom replaced fuel cap. there was also an oil leak fixed. again the engine light came on and off and the engine would run rough. smoke would pour out the tailpipe, engine sputtering, drove back from mountains. returned car to dealer. they replaced powertrain control module and oxygen sensor (again). and again, late june 2015, engine light comes on and engine sputtering. dealer takes car. dealer tells us they are going to 'go through it' and drive vehicle entire time. we receive rental car. dealer calls after week and said vehicle is ready for pickup but they are awaiting a converter and are going to replace oxygen sensor also. vehicle mileage logged; vehicle was never 'driven'. rental car time was used up. returned car to dealer when part was in. dealer replaced converter but not o2 sensor?? they said it didn't need it. drove car about 10 miles and got out. a very strong smell of burning plastic is coming from car. dealer not returning call. will be returning to dealer monday july20, 2015. still driving with strong plastic burn smell. lifted hood. wiring harness above heater line and converter(manifold) is burning. entire right side of engine is unbearable hot. silver metal box in front of fuse panel is so hot it burns to the touch. car reads normal temps? most problems on blog occur in hot summer months. coincidence?

Most times when i go to start the truck it will not start. if it does start it dies immediately. when i try to start it again, the starter seems to get stuck, so i turn the key off and have to try it again. eventually it will start and run normal. just this morning, i went to move the vehicle, and it had no power. once i hooked up the jumper cables i could hear a humming noise, which i assume would be the fuel pump, as i have read many complaints online about it not turning off due to the tipm. after i started it and let it run for a while i shut it off and could still here the fuel pump. i should not have to pull the fuse so that my battery will not die due to a defective part. i just got this truck a little over 2 months ago and have had the starting problem since i've got it. now i got this fuel pump issue. i should not have to pay for something that chrysler is aware of and, at this point, has chose not to do anything about. *tr

Drove the vehicle into the dealer for an oil change and was told the external fuel pump relay harness needed to be replaced. when asked what would happen if it wasn't replaced they told me the car would not start. i find this very odd that i was able to drive the vehicle in. then doing an investigation found that this same module was a recalled item in the 2011 version of my vehicle. would like to find out if this recall needs to be expanded to include the 2012 year model durango. *tr

Vehicle fails to start properly. upon starting, vehicle gets stuck in turnover mode. vehicle starts and shuts off within seconds. vehicle is difficult to start. vehicle is not included in recent recall of fuel pump relay. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 dodge durango. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign numbers: 14v635000 (engine and engine cooling, fuel system, diesel) and 14v115000 (equipment, tires); however, the parts to do the repairs were unavailable. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. the manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. the contact had not experienced a failure.

When try to start car. the starter hung up and wouldn't start. starter kept turning over but would not start. like vehicle was not getting any fuel to engine. has done this 7 times since dec 2014. *tr

Dodge has issued a recall on the tipm system for the 2011 dodge durango's. although i am having the same issues they are stating that my car is not under the recall as it is only for 2011 durango's. my suv is having the same exact problem but dodge is refusing to fix it and will not provide any assistance. *tr

The car hesitates to turn on and the battery has been changed, the fuel pump remains running when the car is turned off. *tr

I initially brought my vehicle to be serviced on 11/4/14 for failure to start & stalling while in park or reverse. i talked with an attendant who said they had no idea what the problem was & it would be $300+ to investigate, i opted for a lower cost option, a replacement start button ($20). i suspect now, since they were busy & i was inquiring about other recall fixes (cost to them) this was a way to get me out of the shop quickly. skip forward a few weeks, the problem persisted. from 12/2/14-1/9/14, i left multiple messages for service to schedule an appt. my messages were never returned. the problem got progressively worse, & by christmas the car failed to start all together. to continue with our family plans for vacation, we had to rent a car ($480); there were also a few days just after the new year where a rental was required so we could function ($280). i finally resorted to simply having the car towed ($100) to the dealership for repairs on 1/10/14 in hopes i could finally get a return call. it still took 2 more days (1/12/15) before someone responded. this time, i was quoted a price of only $114 to determine the problem. i spoke to the service lead on 1/14/15 who gave a diagnosis of tipm and starter replacement, plus 3 hrs labor cost (approx $1550). i mentioned the recall on the tipm, but was informed that my vehicle produced in nov 2011 fell just outside the jul 2011 window. i pointed out it was clearly the same issue, but was advised my best route was to deal with corporate. i contacted the corporate office on 1/15/15 with no success at getting chrysler to do the right thing for their longtime, repeat customer (this is my 5th and last chrysler). after 2+ grueling mths & nearly $2500 later, i finally have a car that starts on the first attempt...hopefully (no guarantees, right). i have yet to hear back from a supervisor at corporate. *tr

In my 2012 dodge durango it was determined that there is a problem with the total integrated power module which is affecting the way the engine starts and gets fuel to the fuel pump. the repair cost is $1213.71. it is my understanding that there are hundreds of documented cases regarding this issue in the chrysler line and nothing has been done to correct the problem. it is unfortunate that chrysler is awaiting a tragedy to take place before they do what is right for the customer and fix the problem that has been reported. i understand that a class-action lawsuit has been filed to address this issue. i just want to go on record in the event that something detrimental happens to me or my family because of this recognized and publicly documented part failure. *tr

On oct 3, 2014, this issue first occurred with my dodge durango. it took several attempts of the vehicle "turning over" for it to actually start. then on oct 10, my vehicle spontaneously stopped in traffic. then it took several attempts to get it restarted. i had my codes and battery tested, no issues were detected. this problem starting the vehicle has been going on several times a day since oct 3. attempts to contact chrysler have been a dead end. i feel like i've been getting the runaround. a recall should have been issued long before now as i have seen several other dodge durango owners who have or are currently having these issues. *tr

My 2012 dodge durango would not start, the engine would turn over but not start. after 5 attempts it started and i drove it to the dealership and after test i was told that the tipm had an open circuit. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 dodge durango. while turning the ignition key to start the vehicle, the contact heard a clicking noise and the engine would not start. the contact was able to start the engine after several attempts. in addition, while stopped at a red light, the vehicle suddenly stalled. the vehicle was towed to the dealer who diagnosed that the wiring for the fuel pump relay inside the totally integrated power module needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 38,000.

At about 54k/56k miles the airbag and check engine light began to go on and off. when i got it checked they did not report anything outside of air is system but that was covered in the diagnostic. then the car would make sudden jumps for no reason, airbag and engine and brakelights repeadedly came on and off. while attending my nephew funeral i got it checked since i would be on the road for no less than 4 hrs. i later found out there was a break recall once i got that fixed (16 dec) the dash was flashing everything airbags, brakes, engine. once i parked the car the nest day it would not come on. a jump did not work. had it towed and told it was the fuel pump system for a car just a little over two years old and that chrysler was only paying for 2011 durangos for this issue. so i am paying in less than a week over $800 for an item clearly thats an issue and was told i should have gotten an extended warranty to avoid not paying factory defected equipment. dissappointed as i always buy american but chyrsler just lost a customer and gained negative advertisement. *js

Was driving down the road on the way to the garage as the vehicle had been having difficulty starting on 4 or 5 occasions over the previous days. as i was driving down the road the vehicle shut off, no gas nothing. i was able to coast the vehicle to a safe place and eventually it started back up again. took the vehicle the dealership on 9-8-2014 and was advised that it was the relay from the tipm to the fuel pump. i have since learned that there was a recall on 2011 models for this same thing; but my suv is a 2012 model. i wanted to file the complaint as this is a dangerous situation and clearly it is happening in models other than the 2011. the repairs were almost $300.00 for a problem that it seems like other models are having just as the 2011 durangos. *tr

Durango cranks and doesn't turn over or starts and then stalls after short distance. local dealer has repaired fuel pump. recall presently only includes 2011's and should be extended to all effected years. *tr
