When driving the vehicle it will randomly begin to stall when driving and power off. once you let you sit it will start right back up kind rough and then drive fine. then couple days later it will do it again. my wife was making a turn when it stalled and almost got t boned. we took it in for the fuel pump recall but no parts have been pushed out for this recall nor have been made. they told.us to just keep driving it even though its asking g for an accident to happen. i asked for a replacement car and was denied and was told i can take it to another dealer but they said the same thing.
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 dodge durango. while driving 50 mph or more, the vehicle stalled intermittently. also, when attempting to start the vehicle, it took approximately thirty minutes for the vehicle to finally start. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 19v813000 (electrical system). the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. the contact called rick hendrick dodge chrysler jeep ram (located at 1468 savannah highway, charleston, sc, 843-352-6931), but they were not able to provide a repair or loaner vehicle. the manufacturer was made aware of the failures and verified what the dealer stated. the approximate failure mileage was 193,000.
Noticed a "tapping" noise coming from engine on right driver side. acceleration of the vehicle was intermittently affected. tapping noise would get louder at idle and vehicle seemed to be increasingly misfiring at times. this issue affected drivability of the vehicle especially in heavy highway traffic. the diagnosed problem: cylinder 3 missfire/seized lifter roller, ultimately leading to camshaft damage. after review/internet searching, apparently this is a common problem in 5.7l hemi engines and attributed to excessive idling. i never had issues with my hemi until moving to virginia and subsequently sitting in traffic for extended periods of time on i-95 (excessive idling). if this is a known issue, why are consumers not made aware and moreover, why has there not been a recall issued to address the problem? this issue seems to span all makes and models of vehicles that use 5.7l hemis, specifically dodge manufactured vehicles.
Transmission cooler is leaking transmission fluid everywhere and the truck lost power on the highway in rush hour traffic the engine started to rev and the truck just slowed to a stop with semi trucks flying past in the middle of the highway
My 2011 dodge durango engine shut off while driving. the first two times it happened exiting the same exit on a right sharp turn at the same part of the turn. the steering wheel locked and i had to force all my weight to turn it and pull off to the shoulder avoiding getting hit from behind and the side. dodge dealer claimed nothing was wrong but wanted to keep car to investigate. i filed a complaint and opened a case number with chrysler corporation. there was a recall with first owner for this happening and it was supposively fixed, i believe the problem was not entirely fixed. i avoided that exit thinking i temporarily took care of the problem. third time my engine shut off while driving was on a left hand turn. no one was behind us so we avoided being rear ended. car was placed in neutral and manually restarted. i called chrysler again using same case number from before but i was told theres nothing that can be done because the warranty expired. 4th and 5th time my engine shut off while driving happened today , first was at a stop in traffic, no turn. i press gas and realized my engine was off while electrical stays on, so my air conditioner and radio weren't effected. and last i turned right into a drive way at work, engine turned off, steering wheel locked. i had to place in park and restart my car. there is a defect with this vehicle that chrysler needs to fix. the first two times happened on a freeway exit. i may not be so lucky next time. this is our family car that my children ride in and chrysler doesnt want to help with problem. i don't mind pitching in to help problem. i tried trading in to dodge but didnt have down payment for new one.
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 dodge durango. the contact stated that while driving at unknown speed, the vehicle stalled without warning. the vehicle was able to restart after multiple attempts. in addition, the contact stated that while driving at approximately 70 mph, the vehicle accelerated independently. the contact mentioned that he was swerving from lane to lane to ignore from hitting another vehicle however, crashed into another vehicle. the air bags deployed. a police report was filed. the contact mentioned that there was no injuries. the vehicle was destroyed. the vehicle was towed to a towing lot. the dealer was not contacted. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 233,000. *dt *dt *tr *dt *tr
My durango hit 130k miles and the rpm where getting to almost 5k before shifting and this would happen on freeway and in town . then a check engine light came on a p306 code is what it was giving me . that's a cylinder number 6 misfire so i had all plugs an new coil on cylinder 6 and put brand new injectors in and it ran good for about 5k miles and it happens again same p306 . i've replaced plugs again and same problem . my durango is a 3.6 i've read a lot on this and was wondering if this is one that has defective l head ? i've put so much money in this suv idk what else it is i cant drive it for to long before its starts the misfire again .
Oil filter adaptor housing recall - when i took this to my local mechanic he states this has been on back order for 6 months. per the internet this affect models from 2011 to 2019. this is causing an oil leak. this can cause the whole engine to seize and is causing oil to leak into the exhaust.
Had the fuel pressure relay recall replaced. is not having starting issues again. all indications are the ticm and in my research this is a nationwide issue. car will spin and not start or start, run poorly and die.
This problem has happened multiple times already not everyday but i would say at least 4-5 times a year. we are driving just normal down the highway and vehicle shuts off we have no steering lose all power have to come to a stop and restart vehicle. the most recent time this has happened luckily we were at a stop light and engine just shut off. we have taken it to a mechanic put his scan tool on it nothing came up. battery is brand new has been tested alternator test good. mechanic suggested computer problem. this is a safety hazard dodge needs to look into.
Vehicle developed a random misfire under load. misfire is intermittent, causing drivability issues. poses as a potential driving hazard when maneuvering around town or on the highway. found out it was common for the cam and lifters to fail and the v8 hemis from 2011-2012 on all platforms.
'engine turned off while driving, no crank, no start, fuse m28 keeps burning over and over,'
Hemi v8 cam & lifters failure doe to design flaw had to also change oil pump doe to metal shavings getting in there costly repair mine happened at 144,000
My vehicle has 69,000 miles on it. it is very well maintained. recently i have experienced when coming to a complete stop the vehicle for whatever reason shuts off. i have to push the ignition button to restart the vehicle and it runs fine. it's scary to think that your vehicle can just shut it's off without any warning. the dealership doesn't have an explanation and there is no recall. however; there are multiple people via the internet that have experienced this same event. i think fodge should be looking into this issue. fuel related..electrical?? lots of questions, but something needs to be done!!! scared for my safety!!
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 dodge durango. the contact stated that the vehicle failed to start in the morning. the contact jumpstarted the vehicle, but the failure recurred the following day. the dealer was not called. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to nhtsa. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the failure mileage was approximately 72,000.
Vehicle developed a misfire and was found to have flattened the cam and lifter in number 2 cyclinder causeing motor damage. vehicle has 107,000 miles on it with oil changes done between 5,000 and 6,000 miles with mobil 1 5w-20 and molar oil filter. vehicle was estimated around $4,000 to repair.
I bought a car from jim peach ford in brewton alabama from a guy named reggie i i want to get my oil change and me and the mechanic noticed that the knocking noise got louder and as i drove it for a few weeks it started to shake very bad took it back to the dealership they said they didn't know what was wrong with it and i would have to buy a furnace engine for $8000
5.7l hemi engine defect: at 105,665 miles the engine has developed a flattened cam along with damaged lifters at number eight cylinder. i suspect that the adjacent lifters and more than one lobe of the cam is damaged. dodge dealership service group is requiring $1000 deposit teradown fee to confirm supect ailment, to be applies to reair, if authorized. range quoted between $2000 and $4000. i have researched and found some cost as high as $4800. research has also shown this defect of the 5.7l hemi engine is not a rare occurence. i requested assistanct from dodge, it was denied. vehicle is in shop. i will have to move if not fixed to avoid storage charges.
When driving at highway speeds and slowing down to stop or exit the road via off ramp or turn, the vehicle will randomly stall causing brakes and steering to become non-responsive. there is no warning prior to vehicle shutting down. it happens suddenly and randomly. it always appears to be when slowing down to exit a road or take a turn. i have to coast the vehicle until it stops and put it into park or neutral to start it again. it works fine until the next time. it has happened six times in the last month.
I am filing a complaint or the people handling the recall reimbursement. i sent it in on sept 7th and now 90 days later, 12 calls, put on hold for 30 mins each, and no one knowing anything. still no answer on my refund. was told on day 88 that they needed something else and now no one can ever answer what it is they need. supposedly the ck is cut but not mailed and it has been like that since nov. i also sent in paper work for my pcm which they were not able to find and i just gave up on that 1500 dollar repair. my pcm has went out several times and its only when something goes out on my car. however i am trying to get the problem solved on getting my refund for the recall first. it has been a nightmare with dodge. never talk to more people that placed you on hold and do not know anything. please help they just give you the run around.
Car began misfiring while driving, and then would not move once stopped and then put back into gear. engine light and fcw indicators came on. initial diagnosis was to replace two sensors. problem returned after replacement. next diagnosis was to replace all 16 spark plugs with boots. still did not solve problem. electrical system was checked to find any leaks, none were found, but a new code originated to re-flash computer. computer was pulled and found to be taking on water and corroding terminals. computer was cleaned and re-sealed to fix problem. but computer is likely to take on more water and corrode again. total repair was over 1600.00 and 20 days in shop. included document does not include initial sensors and plug replacement. mechanic indicated that based on observation, wires connecting to computer had been worked on in the past, likely to address similar problem
The alternator causes my truck to stall at times, and not start at other times, i have gone through two batteries as a result of this. it happened last night while driving, i could tell that it was sluggish, and this morning wouldn't start, then, next thing you know, it starts.
For the past 4 years the car will automatically stop while driving on the freeway and in the street. i have taken the care to the shop and they can not find anything wrong with the car, but the care still stall when driving.
Car has been stalling but then starting right back up for no reason for a couple of years now. not all the time but when i step on the brakes or make a slight turn.
Engine stalling while driving, specially while taking a turn. this cause loss of electrical power in the car including the brakes. this has been hapenning in the last two years causing a big risk of losing my life in a crash. the car dealer autocentro told me that there is no recall for my car in this matter. this makes my car very dangerous and impossible to sell, i need help.
While driving after a 30 minute commute and entering stop and go downtown morning commute traffic, (slow, driving on city streets bumper to bumper traffic) my durango began to smoke from the engine compartment into the cabin. no warning lights came on during the entire experience. all temp gauges showed normal. the car became increasingly hard to drive, feeling transmission slippage. more smoke came from out of all sides of the hood. upon exiting the vehicle and checking the hood, i could see fluid coming out from under the passenger side front engine compartment - towards the front of the car. when i lifted the hood, the engine was fully involved in flames. i dropped the hood closed and ran to the other side of the street. withing 15 minutes the entire front end of the car was burned out, hood and various other parts melted. car had to be totaled by the insurance agency.
Today's date is april 10, 2018. our 2011 dodge durango citadel began stalling and the engine shutting off without warning on february 25, 2018. it happened again on april 8th, 2018 and then again on april 9, 2018. each time it has happened, there is no warning. the first time it happened my wife was making a right hand turn and almost ended up in a head-on collision. the second time it happened, i was making a stop after getting off an exit ramp. and the most recent time, 4/9/18, my wife was driving down a hill and coming to a stop at an intersection. the last two times we have experienced this. the vehicle loses all power, including brakes and power steering, which proves a little challenging if making a turn into traffic. i called chrysler in the us but because i purchased this vehicle used and was not aware that it was originally shipped and titled in canada, the us company proved not to be helpful. ultimately, i am very concerned about this due to the potential for serious consequences. i have owned 4-5 chrysler products (2005 and 2011 dodge durangos, 2003 jeep grand cherokee and 2007 chrysler aspen. this is the first time with an engine issue and more importantly, poor customver service. i have done research on the internet and it could be anything from the tpim control module, the alternator, the fuel pump relay, etc.
The engine is misfiring when driving down the highway. i had the very same issue approximately 6 months ago. i had to have the camshaft and lifters replaced. luckily it was covered under the warranty because the repair costed over $3000. the issue has started again and unfortunately the vehicle is no longer under warranty. i do not have $3000 to get this reoccurring problem fixed.
I have received a recall for the alternator diode thermal fatigue and still have not gotten any response to fix my vehicle. the recall for the brake booster was out september and here it is november and i have not been made aware of this recall. i found the recall on line.
Right @ about 10 miles and hour there is a cluck noise @ the rear of the truck. dodge techs can pin point the cause. it cause some performance issue between 60 and 75. i took the truck in multiple time and they first told me it was the drive shaft. after fixing it the problem still continues. also @120,000 i had a worn camshaft and lifters
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 dodge durango. while at a stop light, the vehicle suddenly shut off. after restarting the engine, the vehicle operated normally. the cause of the failure was not diagnosed. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer and local dealer were not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 134,000.
Fuel relay recall -- no problems before replacement, replaced in dec 2015 and since have had car stall intermittently while driving kids to school 5 times. the three most recent happening at a more frequent basis -- and in last 90 days. i lose total power of the car while driving, it goes into a stall and we have to pull over, let it sit for !10 minutes and it will restart and go. typically it is when i am slowing down and going into a turn or bigger curve on the road. i have taken back to dodge to ask them to fix -- diognostics tells them nothing wrong and they will not replaced the already recalled (and replaced) part as they say they cannot confirm it is the cause. meanwhile, i am driving a car that may stall at anytime even though dealership cannot find on diognostic tests.
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 dodge durango. the contact stated that while driving at 40 mph, the vehicle stalled and the instrument cluster failed. the vehicle was towed to a local dealer dadel and dodge chrysler jeep ram located at 16501 s dixie hwy miami fl 33157 where it was diagnosed that the alternator needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired however the failure recurred. upon leaving the dealer the vehicle stalled and was informed to replace the battery. the vehicle was repaired. however the vehicle stalled again. the vehicle was towed to the same dealer where it was informed that the battery and computer board needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure and opened case # 32410393 but did not offer further assistance. the vehicle failure mileage was 111,000. the vin was not available.
Driving about 1 mile and air conditioner by itself went to a lower speed, kept driving for about another 10 miles and proceeded to get on freeway when did so, drivers seatbealt flashing that was not buckled then all the lights on the dashboard were flashing and the air completely shut off. it was hot so proceeded to row down windows and was not able to, almost like lost power.. got off freeway ( thank god) and got to a stop in a safe place, smelt something burning, turned off car when did so windshield wipers went crazy and then saw smoke coming from engine. waited for aaa in mean time tried to start car back up and wouldn't budge clicking sound (like altenator) trying to start car then it completely shut off, completely dead!!!
Driving home from a family trip 220 miles away my 2011 durango dash lights and gages went haywire flickering on and off, windows would not roll down, ac went out but heat was blowing, loud high pitch sound came from the engine, radio went out, wipers going on full speed and could not turn them off. finally we lost power steering, parked and the car shook bad as we turned it off. went to turn on and nothing it wouldn't start. aaa came out said alternator was toast, replaced that then it said battery was dead,( couldnt even get the vehicle in neutral to tow), so replaced that. was able to drive for about 3 miles and it started all over again but this time a bad smell (burning smell) came from under the passengers seat, battery was making a sound and was extremely hot! i had my 3 little kids in the car with me and this thing could have blown so we had it towed! it has 79000 miles on it, never had an issue, and just had the recall done about 2 weeks prior that supposedly prevents this! the dealership has it now. ive just dumped $700+ and it didnt even fix it! this could have caused a serious accident for my family and others or worse caught on fire with us in it! this was my first dodge and will be my last especially if dodge does nothing to fix this!
When driving my car the alternator failed and started smoking without warning. the car lost all power luckily i was able to cost to safely and get off the road. my problem is i seen a recall for this very issue but my vin was not in the recall. this is completely unacceptable as my failure was exactly what the recall is for. not only did my alternator short out and almost catch fire it fried my pcm. now it sits in the shop and is costing me almost $1500 to fix. how is it ok for them to only recall some cars and mine has the exact same safety recall but my vin is not covered
Electrical charging system light came on while driving and i noticed there was smoke coming out of the hood. pulled into a driveway and opened the hood and the alternator was smoking. i took pictures of this which are on my phone if needed. it took out the battery as well resulting in me having to leave the vehicle there because all systems were out.
Vehicle was parked at work. i got off work came to vehicle entered and started engine after about 1 minute, a buzzing sound came from under the dash, then i began to smell smoke like burning wires or something electrical under the dash. then i saw smoke coming from the engine compartment (under the vehicles front hood). by this time about 1 minute had passed with the engine idling in park. i opened the hood and looked in to see that the alternator was smoking and red hot inside. i tried to turn off the engine, but no response from the ignition button, then crazy electrical things happened with lights dash wipers and etc., then the engine died, and there was not any power or battery everything was dead. i am glad i was not out on the freeway when this happened, or had the family with me. vehicle was towed to auburn transmission and auto repair. ph. (253)737-5913 it is my belief that the alternator went to a dead short and killed the battery so fast, it was amazing to see. i thought there would be some kind of fuseable link to prevent such a thing from occurring. that is a most dangerous design, fire prone.
All gauges radio and lights shut off and engine acted like it was off while accelerating to speed
On july 3 i was driving our vehicle on a country road when the battery light came on shortly after pulling out of the driveway. we had been on vacation and figured the car had sat for 10 days without being driven and just needed a charge. the light indicator came and went before the car started doing weird things: hazard lights, windshield wipers, seatbelt light, etc. the car quickly lost power and everything locked up leaving us stranded on the side of a gravel road. we couldn't even release the keys from the ignition. there was a burning smell and the car had to be towed. the alternator went out, in turn burning up the ems system. this part is on national back order. we have been without a car for over two weeks now. the recall for the alternator was for a smaller amp. ours is a 220amp. they are telling us production of the part may take up to 10-12 more days.
On june 14, 2017 i was driving my 2011 dodge durango home from work and the battery light came on while i was on a busy highway. i exited the highway and pulled into a mall parking lot and suddenly the interior temperature of the car became extremely hot, so hot, i could not stay inside of the vehicle. i started to see and smell smoke, so i turned the vehicle off and opened the hood; as i it opened there was a large amount of smoke and i closed it to snuff out any fires. i had the vehicle towed to my mechanic and was told my alternator had gone bad. the explanation i was giving was: the silicone diodes in the alternator rectifier bridge may experience thermal fatigue due to cyclic loading from the electric hydraulic power steering (ehps) system, eventually resulting in no output, reduced output, or a fully shorted to ground condition. these failure modes vary in their time to failure and warning to the driver. depending on the failure mode and timing, system voltage may drop to critically low levels, disabling systems such as the anti-lock brake system/electronic stability control, engine control module/central body controller, or a total vehicle electrical system shut down (in the event of a short to ground failure mode). i experienced a total system shut down. the alternator not only failed but shorted out my battery, fuses and computer module. i called dodge corporate and only received an apology.... dodge has a recall p60 recall which applies to 160amp alternator. this recall was not applicable to my vehicle because it has a 180 or 220 amp alternator but if it is failing like the 160amp alternator then dodge should be responsible for the defective part.
May 2017 my daughter was driving her 2011 dodge durango with 68k with two kids in the car, the battery light came on and then went completely dead shortly after. we got it to an electrical shop to find the battery was dead and the 180 amp alternator had stopped operating. after some researching i found a recall (p60) and it only applied to 160 amp alternator. i called chrysler (case #31556595) to see if they could help and was denied. we had to pay for the repair which cost me $400.44. i feel this is a safety issue that should be included in the recall.
My battery light came on while driving. i was driving 65 mph down rt 18 north in the colts neck area of nj. within 10 minutes after the battery light came on, my car acted possessed. the steering locked, brakes locked, wipers came on moving slowly, the heat came on, abs brakes light came on, and the park assist came on. luckily there were no cars directly around me and i was able to drift to the shoulder of the road where my car completely shut down and stopped on its own. the 180 amp alternator went and also fried my pcm. i am currently paying over $200 to rent a car. i am being told my bill will be about $2000 to replace the alternator and pcm. this is a very unsafe and a dangerous issue that should be recalled as the 160 amp alternator is already recalled for the same issues. driving at a highway speed and your car suddenly completely shuts down can cause a serious crash. this is the 3rd major issue i've ran into as i also had my battery dying multiple times due to the fuel pump relay recall. also, i lost my brakes suddenly and had to avoid an accident due to the brake booster failure recall. i do not think i will ever buy a dodge again as they do not take responsibility for issues. i feel as though this vehicle isn't safe to drive.
In the past 6 months i have paid over $3500 in repairs on the dodge durango. i was told and had to replace both catalyst converters and all 4 o2 sensors. then the starter went out causing me to replace it. now for the 3rd time in 3 weeks, i had to have my vehicle towed and now it appears the issue may be the alternator. i noticed there was a recall for 2011 dodge durango 3.6l, 160 amp alternators and i am not sure what amp my alternator is but my vehicle appears to have all the same issues as the vehicles that were under the recall, yet my vehicle is not included in the recall? i have been inconvenienced for 3 weeks now having to get rides to and from work and have had to cancel doctor appointments and school meetings due to the fact that both my husband and i need a vehicle and are having to share 1 vehicle with 5 kids. our most recent issue occurred on easter sunday while traveling with all our children, the battery signal appeared on our vehicle began smoking from under the hood. to avoid injury, we have had it towed to the dodge dealership again for review. we have had 2 diagnostic checks going on a 3rd and no one is catching all the repeated issues. we have to replace the catalyst converter 2 times (november 2016 and april 2017), o2 sensors (november 2016), battery (january 2017), starter (april 2017) and now our newest issue has yet to be revealed but it appears it will be the alternator (april 2017). at what point will chrysler take full responsibility for all the issues with the 2011 dodge durango. reimbursement for all we have had to pay for faulty issues with the 2011 dodge durango would be appreciated. all these issues developed after the faulty tipm that we have paid out of pocket for 2x as well.
I was driving in the city on a very busy street when the car made a weird siren noise; then my seatbelt lights went off, my park assist started flashing, my traction control other lights were flashing, the radio flashed off and on, then went out. then my wipers went on, and then i lost power steering, brakes were not working, and the car slowly died. my hazards didn't even work, so i almost caused an accident. my car died in the middle of a very busy street and i had no hazards to warn anyone! a very scary situation to have especially with your 12-year-old daughter in the car.
Very unclear how my durango was not included in the mass recall of alternators that immediately stop working and start to burn. mine did just this, stopping my vehicle in the middle of traffic and almost causing an accident. i also smelled burning and there was smoke coming from the engine. it was towed to a nearby auto shop whereupon the alternator was replaced but the vehicle still did not operate. it was then towed to ganley chrysler dodge and that alternator removed and another put in. the vehicle also incurred costly repairs to the computer (pcm) system failing due to the alternator. i do not feel this is a normal wear and tear issue at 85k miles. i have called chrysler and they refuse to assist, claiming i should not have had it repaired before calling them. the dealership never gave me an indication that i should proceed this way.
This is the 3rd time since august 2016- so 3 to 4 months timeframe- my dodge durango has died on me while driving. this means a complete loss of steering, lights, power, the vehicle is completely dead. this is a safety issue. i can barely make it to the side of the road without crashing. an investigation needs to be opened up regarding this. they have recalls against the alternator but are not honoring them. *tr
Vehicle has had campaign 14v530000 (and all other recalls and powertrain tsb's) performed. while driving on highways and rural roads, engine shuts off abruptly, causing loss of steering assist and only a couple brake actuations before brake assist is lost (occurred before tipm campaign, still shuts off after campaign). typically occurs during coasting or mild braking when preparing to enter a turn (does not matter if right or left turn). no "check engine," alternator, or other warning lights appear on the dash (as they would if the engine stalled) -- it is as if ignition switch were immediately turned off. occasionally when engine shuts off, the instrument cluster gives a forward collision warning disabled warning (but the fcw does not beep, alert, signal, etc. before the engine shuts off, and there was no obstacle to set off or block the fcw). since engine seems to shut off, there are no codes active or stored after the engine shuts off. repeated trips to dealership, and they can not diagnose, or cause the issue to occur. *tr
On no 1, 2016 when i was going at work, i was driving on west park hwy (houston, tx), and suddenly my car stopped working in the middle of the road, all the system has stopped working, and the front car started smoking (burn, & fire). and i survived by the grace of god. i call the towing services so as to move the car from the hwy to my house. and i can't really tell you what exactly happened. but the constancy is, my car is not drivable until now. and my insurance company sent some expert so as to assess the risk, and they told me what happened is the defect of the constructor (chrysler group llc), because there are more than 300 hundred cases of complaints similar with my explanations. and from this day to now, i am traumatized by this incident. it is the reason that i am writing to you so as to solve this hazard or main issue. and actually my car is parked at home (15770 bellaire blvd, #2107, houston, tx77083). my insurance claim number is: state farm: 53-0079-5s5. n.b.: i also attached the towing receipt issued by the towing services.
Safety issue on my 2011 dodge durango. while driving home after work late one night, the durango started acting up like it was possessed. the lights would go on and off, the wipers went on and wouldn't shut off, seats went back and forth while driving!, radio, heat, ac. i was in traffic and finally managed to move over to a secure location out of harms way no sooner did i pull off the side of the road then the dodge completely died. i had to coast down a hill. tried to turn it over and nothing. no lights no radio no nothing. it was dead. had to have it towed to the dealership. the dealer claimed it was the battery, installed a new one and sent me on my way. fast forward to less than 2 weeks later- same problem. driving to drop off my 5 year old and it starts acting up again completely possessed. how is this safe? i made it to work with it going crazy. at lunch, i went to start it and check it out. dead. brand new battery dead. 400 bucks down the drain- when that wasn't the problem. not to mention the 200 bucks to tow. i brought it to a little shop around the corner and they couldn't find the problem and towed it back to the dealer. and there it sits. no one can figure out what is wrong with it over there. it is really pathetic. so now add'l tow charges-$200, no vehicle to get back and forth to work and child's stroke therapists, and had to break down and pay for a rental. what a joke thanks dodge. they are well aware of the tipm issues and refuse to recall any of their vehicles. this is a huge huge safety issue. everything just dies.. the engine the brakes don't work nothing. *tr
