My car caught on fire from the hood area (i have photos) and air bags never deployed . i took my car in and the air bags were replaced but never deployed and car is a total lost due to fire.

Takata recall i'm handicap, trying to get airbags replaced, keep getting run around, dealers no help, finally one dealer says parts are on order , but still no results, have been over 1 year, i'm still recieving recall letters in mail, frustrated, need vehicle fixed,

Takata recall...........dodge still hasn't replaced the affected air bag

Takata recall i took the durango to orange coast dodge in costa mesa to fix the recall. they inserted a diagnostic device that showed that the air bag system was off line. no warning light was showing on the dash. when starting the vehicle the airbag light and the restraint system indicators on the dash light up for a few seconds then go off. the dealer ran a diagnostics and found that the airbag system was not initialized and that the warning light does not come on because the vehicle computer cannot connect to the system. he said its as if the system is not installed. the service associate said that he's seen this before and doesn't know for sure how it happens - maybe a voltage spike or battery issue. they performed the recall, initialized the system, tested and say everything works. cost me $155. how will i know for sure that my airbags are online if the indicators don't show me? i had a front end collision in the vehicle in 2015 and the airbags did not deploy - see attached photo. after the collision the transfer case motor was stuck in 4 wheel drive mode even though the switch is in awd position. at no time have i seen any indicator on the dash that shows the air bags or restraint system not working.

Takata recall. i took my vehicle in to have this recall fixed and was told it was repaired. then i received another notice and was informed by the dealership they would contact me when they had the parts. i was never contacted and moved but still have the same number. now i receive all this information about the danger and this vehicle is my wife and children's primary source of transportation. i fear for their lives while driving this vehicle, especially after watching the video. also during the same time frame of this recall, my electronics on the vehicle began acting erratically. they still do occasionally but we have to drive it nonetheless. the instrument cluster will go dead with no lights or gauges working, the a.c. will blow heat only or stop, the alarm goes off on its on, etc. all this while it is still running and drivable but you don't know how fast! right now it's acting somewhat normal. i really feel i was wronged in buying this vehicle! the date i listed was the first time it happened but it has happened several times after that up to last month.

Takata recall i almost got into a really bad accident yesterday with my family in the car ( my daughter was in the passenger seat). all i could think about was the airbag going off and killing my child due to metal fragments deploying from the airbag. we should not have to worry about these kind of things. we have enough to worry about in the road with crazy drivers as it is. it seems like the parts are never going to come in to fix our air bags. i want a car i can drive safely with my family until my airbag gets fixed. i think it is takatas duty to everyone to make them feel safe.

Car stalls at stop light. no reason. car started shifting into all wheel drive by itself. i could hear it shifting as i opened driver door, and car was not on. did not know what the noise was. car sounded like it was grinding the gears when moved into drive. towed to shop. transmission guy could not figure out why it changed all by itself. cargo lamp is one if i open rear hatch. it will only go off if i close the hatch twice. now airbag light is on, since new battery was replaced.

The car stalls alot whenever you're at a light or going slow speeds. will turn off and needs to be turned on. the ignition locks and the key wont turn when trying to turn the car on. the airbag light is constantly blinking when the driver seat belt is not on. when the seatbelt is on, the airbag light is permanently on. this morning the front passenger tire area make a loud clunk when i turned left. shortly after as i was going about 35 mph it felt as if i had a flat tire so i pulled over. turns out the entire ball joint had broken and the front passenger tire had fallen to the side.

Customer care is unable to have repairs done because there is no dealership on island maui. said if i pay cost to get car to honolulu then they would be able to open a new file on my car. having an older recalled vehicle in a humid hot environment makes our situation much more dangerous then most with defected airbags. i would like to have them do a buy back. 3 grandchildren in carseats and a my legally blind husband. a long with my 12 year old son and self only have this vehicle. airbag light comes on frequently indicating a possible death trap scenario. dodge does not care by my dismissed claim file . i am on fixed social security income and will never have funds to transport car inter island or trust in a mechanic whose work on the vehicle will not be guaranteed. please investigate and see if a buyback or replacement seems necessary to protect our lives.my contact number is [xxx]. i don't think they have a basis to erase my filing until i have financial ability to pay surrounding costs for replacing or repairing this vehicle at their cost. Takata inflators-i have repeatedly contacted the local dealership about the recall & i have been told each time the parts to correct the problem are on backorder & they have no time estimate for the parts to be available. my 1st call to the dealer was 6/22/2015 & i was told it would be 3-4 weeks for the parts to arrive. i called again on 7/24 & was told the parts were still on backorder & there was no time estimate for parts availability. i called again today & still the same message. 6 months seems a bit long to wait for a recall item.

For many months dodge has known about the potential for the airbag to deploy spontaneously. (i called them then when i first heard about the problem on the news) i finally received a recall notice a couple weeks ago and it advised me of the potential problem but that they will not have the parts to fix it for an indefinite amount of time. i have heard reports that it could be 2 years before it may be fixed. i feel that this is a ridiculous length of time to secure the safety of my family. is it possible to expedite this repair or to make my car a part of the new decision against chrysler to buy back the car? there wasn't a specific incident that prompted my complaint. thank you. *tr
