Had issue with 2013 dodge dart cranking . it took several attempts before the car would crank up.
My car is currently drivable however i recently found out that i need the oil pressure monitor replaced along with the wiring in the steering system due to oil damage from the oil pressure monitor being broken. the radio and rear view camera also need to be replaced. these are too many issues for a fairly new vehicle. apparently there have been numerous changes complaints about this vehicle but i'm continuously being told that there are no recalls despite ongoing issues with the vehicle that have to deal with manufacturing issues. the radio started malfunctioning over a year ago. the windshield wipers/oil pressure switch issues have only been happening approximately 2 months. the rear view mirror stopped working today. the car has also has issues stall no, not starting, and cutting off while the car is stopped for about a year now.
Service transmission message on dash after about 50 miles of driving normal. won't shift into second gear until 4200 rpm drops to 1000 rpm then shifts into third gear early at 2400 rpm when turned vehicle off and try to turn back on it says autostick not available. clear all codes works fine. it's been at the dealership 4 times with no diagnosis. they have done the transmission control module recall twice. every time it has happened there has been about a month in between. tends to happen after about driving 50 miles normally.
While vehicle was in motion and i proceeded to make a right hand turn the vehicle stalled out causing me to shift the gear into park before starting the vehicle back up. but as i tried starting the vehicle it hesitated to start and i had to wait a moment maybe three to seven minutes before i was able to get the vehicle started again only to have it stall out again while making another right hand turn. i also noticed the interior lights flashing on the dash as well as a blinking check engine light appearing.
The windshield wipers on my car are stuck in the on position causing them to run constantly, even though the lever is set to the off position. this happened while driving my vehicle after i used the left turn signal.
Vehicle needs to be approved for recall concerning (multifunction switch) which is the windshield wiper controller as its communicating cables are too fragile to work under regular turning signal usage as cable within component gets pulled by it's own regular motion at usage. this causes the cables within the switch to get cut and broken making it to break completely. because the part is not being produced by mopar the part is not found as dodge dealers make you wait in line next to 400 other dodge driver owners in order to get the part (when they start producing the part) which there has been no confirmation of being produced by mopar.
While driving on the interstate, my car caught fire. i noticed my battery light come on about 1 mile from my exit and less than a minute later fluid sprayed onto my windshield from under my hood. i immediately pulled off to the side of the interstate and as soon as i stopped, smoke started pouring out from under my hood. i walked away from the car and called 911 at that point. during the 911 call there was only smoke coming out from the engine bay area. right near the end of the call i started to see plastic that was on fire dripping below the car onto the grass. the fire department arrived less than 5 minutes later and the entire engine bay was in flames, 10-20 feet high. the fire melted all the plastics and most of the metal outside of the frame and engine. even the steel hood was melted away and gone. my car had a long history of electrical issues dating back a little over a year from the time of the fire. during that time, the electrical issues encountered included the dash becoming completely unresponsive and no electronics working, the dash screen rebooting while driving, the car cutting off while driving, the speedometer and tachometer not working, and more. during the trips to the dealership, they replaced the pcm, bcm (three times), and the battery. at one point, chrysler engineering was involved and they were unable to determine what was wrong and said the car looked like it was struck by lightning. enough parts were finally replaced to fix the car, temporarily, before more issues. a couple months before the fire i tried to get chrysler to buy the car back because of the electrical issues but it was denied. after the fire, chrysler and keffer both denied any fault on their part. yet, i have a third party fire report showing the fire was electrical and started in the area of the bcm, pcm and battery. all the prior faulted parts.
2013 dodge dart with 2 liter motor auto transmission. the car won't start. on the shifter all letters on gear indicator shows red (p,r,n,d) engine light on. car will. it start in any gear. this is the third shifter assembly i had to purchase to fix the problem . vehical was stationary when it wouldn't start , when it was running the gear indicator light went red car shifted hard. also wouldn't indicat what gear it was in on the dash. now car won't start at all.
While backing out of my driveway the became stuck in neutral and won't turn off
Car gets to about 190 degrees and the service transmission message appears and the check engine light comes on and car goes into limp mode and will not come out of first gear. once car is shut off it will not turn on for about 45 minutes to an hour even after disconnecting the battery. after 45 minutes to an hour car will start and go about 15 miles and then back into limp mode and will not come out of first gear again. this is very hassardist
Vehicle "bucking" between 1500 and 2000 rpm. problem multiple people are experiencing. seems to be either clogged fuel filters, fuel pump, spark plugs, or ignition coils with the last two being the primary. continuous issue for over a year. took to dodge. said it was fixed, but problem continued. they would no longer look into issue because vehicle hit 100,000 miles.
I pulled into my driveyes way and placed the car on park. to my surprise, the car kept moving and stayed on drive. the vehicle will not allow me to remove the key, so in order to save the battery, i had to unplug it. no matter how many times i try to change the gear from drive to park, it stays on drive.
Passenger sun visor breaks loose from headliner after prolonged vibration from road
Bluetooth don't work. $600 to fix at 45,000 miles. now my prdn lights up all red. will clear only when i turn car off and back on. took car to auto zone and its not giving any codes
My dodge dart it keep clicking while parked in engine off!
My 2013 1.4l turbo dart was in service within the last 2 weeks. was informed that my slave cylinder, master cylinder and brake booster needed to be replaced and was under recall. ended up in an accident on the freeway because my abs failed and my car slid. i was informed that it does have to do with the brake booster. was told by dodge parts were on order, i call and they have no record and that there are no recalls for my vehicle. when it was inspected was informed the three above parts needed to be replaced and they said it was all recall parts. of course no forms or documentation was given at the appointment.
Each dealership that i contact to try and make an appointment to fix the recall problem they do not have the part for it and i think that they should order the part and call me when it comes in. i have been waiting for almost a year.
This car should be a total recall!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This car is 3 years old and we have had to replace the body control module (bcm), and transmission control module (tcm). the check engine light is still on and dodge is still trying to find out what is wrong with it. before replacing the body control module the car wasn't starting so the battery was replaced, it turns out the bcm was staying on and drawing power form the battery while the car was off. we were constantly having to jump the car to get it started. after that the transmission started acting funny it would shift hard, shift into low gears while driving on the freeway. also when first started or stopped at a traffic intersections the vehicle would shift into 4th gear on its own unless in sport mode and done manually. this makes it accelerate very slowly which is dangerous especially when pulling out into an intersection. after replacing the tcm the issue with the transmission is still occurring, it is currently being looked and the cause is still unknown.
My car is messing up the gears the lights turn red the car would not start left me stranded also when i put my car in drive the cart shifts hard back and forth i took it to aamco they said it the motor mount the rear one i do buy the part had it replaced and now the car is leaving me stranded it was parked
After lengthy oil consumption tests on car by the dealer, i was told it burns 1 quart of oil every 1000 miles and i would have to add oil at that rate. also told this was "acceptable" by chrysler. no low oil light comes on, even when the engine totally failed and i had to have it towed to the dealership. currently have 25000 miles after 2.5 years owned.
I am writing to complain about the length of time that it took for my vehicle. it stated clearly in the recall letter i received that the service would take 1 hour. maybe a little longer. when i made the appt. i was told the parts were in stock. i dropped off my car the next morning, and was told 3 hours if i wanted to wait. i called them 2 days later and was told parts needed to be ordered, and it would be 2 weeks until they (the dealership) could get them. after the 2 weeks, with no update from them, i got a call saying the parts didnt take, they would have to order them again. this happened one more time. all in all my car was in the shop for a month for a 1 hour treatment. on top of that my vehicle, which i am afraid to drive in, was returned to me filthy and with a broken seat. after over 30 days in a dealership and it couldnt even be detailed or cleaned?? maybe an oil change? i have complained to dodge and they are sweeping it under the rug just as the dealership has done.
The car has been having several electrical problems. fuel gauge will not register a full tank of gas after been filled right away. volume controls will increase and decrease on their own sporadically. buttons on the steering wheel stop functioning off and on. also, lately we have been having issue with car shaking and stuttering while driving. have taken it to dealership 2 times in the last week. will be visiting again this week.
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 dodge dart. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 15v542000 (power train) however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time to do the recall repair. while driving at various speeds, the gear shift malfunctioned. the dealer stated that the transmission fluid was not due to be changed; however, the owners manual indicated that the transmission fluid needed to be changed at 50,000 miles. the vehicle was not repaired and the transmission fluid was not changed. the failure mileage was approximately 52,000. the manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. vin tool confirms parts not available. updated 04/21/2016*lj the consumer stated there was an odor inside the vehicle, after driving for a while. updated 04/28/16. *jb
While driving on a highway going about 75 mph my 2013 dodge dart acted up out of nowhere. the car suddenly decreased in speed my entire dashboard lit up, the check engine light and the throttle control light stayed on. luckily i was very close to an exit and put my flashers on and exited to get to safety. this car has been acting up with day one and continues to impress me with the # of repairs done. there is also something that has baffled about 5 mechanics and is still doing. the clutch keeps on sticking and the car can not be put into gear. many mechanics and dealerships can not figure out how to fix or what is wrong. i will never buy a chrystler brand again and definitely not recommend.
The manual transmission does not allow you to shift into certain gears after starting the car. this can occur for a while after the initial ignition, often not allowing the vehicle to move through intersections safely. i sometimes cannot shift into 1st gear after stopping at a stoplight, and sometimes cannot shift into second gear, if i am able to get it into 1st gear. occasionally, if i leave the transmission in 1st gear or reverse when parked, and i start the vehicle, even though the clutch pedal is fully depressed, the transmission is engaged, and causes the vehicle to move on ignition. applying the brakes makes stalls the vehicle. i occasionally have to pump the brakes, and/or clutch pedal several times in order to allow the transmission to change gears properly. i have read several posts on forums indicating that it is due to a defective master and/or slave cylinder. dodge has acknowledged the issue by extending the length of the warranty on this part, but i believe that this should be a safety recall. it's very frightening when you are trying to move out of an intersection, and there is oncoming traffic, and you cannot get the car into the next gear. this started happening about a year ago, and seems to be increasing in occurrence.
When tire pressure is low, driver information center instructs user to "inflate tires to 0 (zero) psi" this occurs any time one or more tire loses enough pressure to trigger the tire pressure monitor.
Owner of a 2013 dodge dart rally , 1.4l multi-air turbo engine. first case was the dangerous hesitation with the transmission. vehicle lost all forward momentum. the engine was still running but all functions of the transmission were gone. the vehicle was towed. *bf *cn
When driving down the road, the car started stuttering and making a whooshing/whistling sound. keep loosing power to the car. when i would try to speed up, it would make it worse, and would make the check engine light start blinking. i ran the code, that came back as code p1eca. i believe this is part of the power train recall, though my car is not on the recall list, i believe it needs to be. this problem came out of nowhere with regular maintenance, and everything i have tried to fix it has not worked.
Dodge dart 2013 on august 2015 after the first flood in clarendon county by the clarendon landfield there was a deep hold in the pavement that wasn't notable because it was after 8:30 pm vehicle sustained damage to the front tires struts or shocks, been making a sound whenever turning the tires every since that incident took place. i've tried several times to contact the county but got no response. i was always put on hold for an hour or more so i just stop trying. i was driving at the time of the incident on a highway near the clarendon county landfield. on 9/07/2013 my car gear shift linkage came apart with no warning almost had an accident because with the link being broken i cannot drive my car can't shift to any other gear.
The cluster that houses the speedometer is wrong. currently the speedometer even reads 20mph even though the car is not even running. it is hard to tell how fast i am going without reliable speedometer information.
When getting into my car in the morning or after work (any time the car has been sitting for a while), the clutch pedal goes straight to the floor and doesn't come back up. i cannot put my car into gear or even start the car. i have to pump the clutch pedal for a few minutes until i have a little pressure to even start my car. my car stalled out twice from this when entering a parking garage and i almost hit another car because of this. after driving the car for 2-3 miles the clutch seems to come back to normal pressure and i can shift fine at that point.
2013 dodge dart bought new from dealer. june 17, 2015 while traveling through a parking lot a approximately 20mph axle broke pulling it from transmission. cv knuckle/joint, tie-rod all broke. wheel and tire turned at a 90 degree angle from car. left a divot in concrete where everything hit ground. visual estimate by dealer was $6,500. nothing was hit, no curb, no pot hole, speed bump, or any other object. police report states there was nothing in the area to hit. no other damage to vehicle, such as impact from other objects. service manager at dealership car was taken to said there was so much damage he couldn't tell what broke first. chrysler legal special investigations team inspected vehicle. 3 weeks later they sent me a report saying it was not a mechanical defect and my extended warranty would not repair. they insist i file with my insurance carrier. a vehicle that is 18 months old with only 39,000 miles should not fall apart like that if it doesn't strike anything. i've requested copy of report chrysler used to make their decision.
Right now i have issues with my evap system, transmission and engine. with the evap system i am not sure what is going on with it and i have replaced the gas cap as the system stated and i still have the issue. the engine issue now is that the car is very hesitant than from before. especially in first gear. i have to rev the engine to get going sometimes. i almost was involved in an accident. now the clutch goes to the floor with little resistance or sticks to the floor when i am on the road for a while or when it has been sitting for a while. i have had this car for a year and few months and it just gets worse. i really believe that this car is unsafe.
Engine light came on while driving noticed a failure in power when stepping on the gas felt no go with the turbo. stopped to have vehicle checked at advance auto diagnostic indicator stated turbo failure. vehicle had not reached 36000 miles.
I have had multiple issues with my dodge dart. it started back in november 2014 when the car wouldn't start and it said service transmission, i had it towed and they dealership said it was an update issue. the second time the service transmission light came one i took it back to the dealership where they said that the update didn't take, hours later told me it was all set to go, went to pick it up and the car wouldn't start, dealer kept it over night, called next day and told me that they couldn't recreate issue and i needed to pick the car up unfixed! couple days later the service transmission light came back, took car back in they replaced the tcm. they car still shifts horrile, the car starts shifting gears while at a complete stop, and most recently the car has started not knowing what gear its in and just shifts to neutral, which is pretty dangerous while driving!!!! dealer cannot find anything wrong with it....over all i hate driving the car because i don't feel safe at all and i feel like i have no place to turn with the dealer i am working with as they cannot find the problem.
My dodge dart limited 2013 turbo 1.4 cylinder has so many problems when we bought it in may/2013, couple months after the squeaking noise, and driver's side electric windows not working, after one year the car is in the shop for 15 days for engine oil leak, and now is again in the shop for 5 months and no solution for transmission problems. the technician said is working but they not sure if it is a computer software or transmission defect. i want to know if someone can help me and or provide me with information . this car does not reach any star. thanks..
Car sounds like struts and shocks are already going out. car lunges forward sometimes when stopped. it changes rom auto transmission to manual transmission on its own which causes the car to stall service people just look at you like your a idiot when you complain about issues and the loud popping noise is horrible.
My car keeps saying service transmission and i have a recall on my car for 3 years with no fix. the recall is a r42 my car can shift into natural at any time while i am driving how safe is that to drive also tcm controller board was replaced and since that my turbo went out my cars temperature on the coolant goes up to 215 degrees. when starting my car and when i driving in traffic is when the temperature goes up
I have a new dodge dart that for the past month have been fighting with arrigo dodge service dept regards to my concerns with issues. my calls went unanswered and was given the blow off. this past friday my ac quit working was when i took the car in they were forced to address my concerns... when i asked for a rental i was refused... *js
On 5/16 2014 while at the bank my son-in-law noticed a bulge in the left front tire. it is an obvious separation of materials 2 calls to kumho 800445 8646 ext [xxx] has not generated a return call. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr
I went and attempted to start the car. car would not start. it was like the clutch would not engage. released the clutch and re-engaged, and it started. during shifts, it didnt want to go into 3 or 6th gears. it was like the clutch is not engaging once again. took the car back to where i purchased it, performance dodge, and they told me that chrysler knows of the issue but chrysler star will not fix it. i asked how can they know that the clutch has issues, but they are not going to fix it. the employee informed me that they all are like this. chrysler knows of the clutch issues due to all the complaints, but they still risk the lives of the individuals who purchased the vehicle by not replacing the clutch. i have also had issues with my windows not rolling up or down and the radio keeps resetting itself. they do updates, but it does not fix the radio issue. the last time i took it for the update, the update wouldnt even load to fix the issue. how can a company know of issues but refuse to fix them?
My check engine light comes on frequently. i have called the dealer to have it checked, but by they time i get an appointment, the light has gone off. this is quite annoying because i want to make sure my car is running well without defect.
When attempting to start my dart, the clutch pedal will have no tension in it. the pedal will go straight down to the floor with no effort and will stick down. i have to use my foot to pull it back up. the car will also not go into gear when this occurs. you have to either turn the car off or let it stall, then pump the clutch 10-20 times in order to get the tension needed. sometimes this doesn't help at all and you have no choice but to attempt to drive it. this is extremely unsafe! fca knows there is an issue, they've extended the warranty to 60,000, but my car having 83,xxx miles they don't care. first extended service corporation who i purchased an "extended service agreement" through doesn't care either. i asked to speak with a supervisor and the representative flat out told me "no" and hung up. i've been having this problem for well over a year. we've contacted the dealership and others around and they said it wouldn't be covered under warranty. this is a safety concern, how is it not a recall?!?
I purchased my 2013 dodge dart on august 9, 2013 from federico chrysler dodge jeep in wood river il. within 4 mos on december 11, 2013, i had my car in the shop because my middle console was inop. after checking it they determined the console needed replacing. two months later on february 11, 2014 i had my car in a second time for middle console. this time they installed an integrated stack. then, 9 mos later on november 21, 2014 a third time i had my car in again for middle console not operating properly. this was my first contact to dodge about this issue and was assigned a customer care manager. i asked if my car would be considered for lemon law and was told chrysler was intersted in buying my car back and was given a mopar warranty in deductible of $100 and at time car had over 34,000 and warranty expires at 60,000. then just this past april 2nd of 2015 i had my car in shop at cassens and sons in edwardsville, il again because middle console was not operating properly. they downloaded an update per star. i was responsible for $100 deductible. i then went on a trip to new orleans, la and while on my trip the middle console was not operating properly. i contacted chrysler again was assigned a case manager and was told that they would get to the bottom of the issue. so, i took my car in on april 29th the soonest i could get it in and after 8 hours at service was called and told that star couldn't figure out why it was happening and since they couldn't duplicate problem not to replace any new parts. after hearing this news i was called and john customer care manager told me that chrysler wouldn't iniatate the lemon law that i would to do so.
The horn fails to honk quickly and reliably when the steering wheel horn switch is pressed. to explain what this is like, when you want to "double tap" the horn to signify to a friend in a parking lot, or as often happens when i'm driving to signal to another driver a "double quick honk" of concern. if the horn sounds, its either a single short blast or extra long blast. the cause of this, is that the horn switch goes to one dbus controller that must cycle through the inputs, once this first controller sees the horn switch active *it* then sends a signal on to another control module, this one too operates on a databus/scan type system, and so has to cycle through its inputs until it happens upon the "horn switch active" signal, and then the second module activates the horn relay to send current to the horn. because both databuss scans are so slow, it either misses the horn press initially, or when it picks up on the horn switch press, it fails to see the switch has been released for until the 1st module has cycled back to the input, .. and again the same happens with the 2nd module. in three cases now, its caused road rage, when the other driver though i was "laying on" the horn, when all i attempted was a double tap, because they were encroaching on my lane as i was passing and wanted to make sure they didn't hit me. the horn is an instrument for warning, and its obvious when someone attempts to piss someone else off by holding down on the horn switch .. where a double tap is usually taken as a cautionary alert, and for the horn not to function reliably every time and with the speed that a human can press the horn switch, is an absolute failure on dodge's part to have a safety device operating properly. this happens every day, all the time, and i'm told by others, that its like this now across all of dodge's fleet, this is a design flaw and should be repaired!
