We have classified the 115 complaints from 2006 Dodge Dakota about AIR BAGS into the following categories.
my driver and passenger airbags are on the recall list. the only service company to replace the airbags/inflators on the island of maui is jim falk chrylser dodge jeep ram, at 221 puunene ave, kahului, hi 96732 on maui (808 280-1774). it took over a year and a lot of complaining until the manager, aaron serrao, saw to it that my driver airbags were fixed last year. now with the passenger airbags/inflators on the recall list, i don't want to have to wait another year until the parts arrive. is there anyway you can have the repair parts sent to jim falk auto for my repair? when i talk to them, they tell me they have no idea when the parts will come in and that i should just continue to call every few months. this is exactly what they told me in 2014 when i was trying to get my driver side airbag corrected. now i need the passenger side corrected. this is a safety hazard and i don't not want to further jeopardize my family's safety. also, i had side airbags installed prior to purchase, will these need repair, too?

1)pulled out of a food lion parking lot and hit a pot hole and broke the main spline in the transmission. 2) the truck now shuts off as you're going 70 mph and when you crank it back up. the engine light stays on but the rev limiter is kicking in at 2000 rpms until you stop again and shut the motor off, wait 10 seconds and crank it back up. some times its fine, most of the time it's not. now the paint is flaking off the top of the truck for no reasons. i've never abused this truck and the only "off roading" it's done was driving in my yard. please help. *tr
1.drivers airbag light comes on when driver. 2.when making a u-turn i hear a loud clunking noise around the tire area. 3.the emergency release brake cable snapped off the release handle. 4.nhtsa just sent me an email regarding a recall on my 2006 dodge dakota quad "left tire rod assembly". I was involved in a crash where i was traveling at 45 mph and pushed my brake pedal to stop as i was approaching an intersection. the driver's side front brake locked up and there was approximately a 50-60 ft skid mark only from that wheel reducing the speed from 45 mph to approximately 35 mph during the skid while the other 3 wheels failed to brake. the failure of the anti lock braking system, which was an uneven distribution of braking pressure, caused my truck to fail to stop in time. the distance was well within normal braking distance for the speed. and until now, i had never had a similar problem. the brakes, caliper, and rotors had been replaced in september of this 2012 with new parts. they had been installed correctly and i have documentation to prove that. during the crash, the airbags failed to deploy. the accident was one where my dodge dakota rear ended another vehicle. no injuries had occurred, however the truck sustained approximately $5000.00 worth of damage to the front end and is considered totaled due to the cost of repairs vs the value of the truck. the mileage on the vehicle is approximately 206,500 miles and all maintenance was current and preventive maintenance (as required when under warranty to 100,000 miles) work was completed at both a dealership or an authorized auto repair shop. after the 100,000, work was completed by an authorized repair shop or routine maintenance was performed by myself, owner, who is experienced in auto repair/maintenance procedures utilizing oem / oem approved replacement parts. according to the nhtsa item # 10016024 there had been a recall due to and ecu failure for vehicles produced just before mine was. i do not know how to tell if my ecu is the replacement one or should have been included in the recall, but wasn't. photographs of the skid marks and damage are available upon request and i have truck at my home. *tr

Engine was replaced prior to purchase truck was sold as new engine replacement was not disclosed, continuing transmission problems, replaced transmission at 8800 miles, vehicle shut off while in motion on freeway, multiple exhaust leaks, hub fan replaced. when a problem repeats itself the dealership claims it to be "normal". dealer principle unwilling to address issues. i continue to hear noises and have transmission issues. dealership will not do any work on the vehicle unless i go when its convient for the "technician" to duplicate the issue. dealership lied about engine being recalled as an explanation for the replacement of the engine when in fact there were no recalls relating to the engine. dealership claims all repairs are normal when in the manuel it only states maintenance is required at high mileage not replacement before 10k.*cn
