Problems with 2001 Dodge Dakota STRUCTURE

Clear coat coming off truck been garage kept since new. estimate on repaint $4500.00

Takata recall this trucks frame just broke. it's a clean break and looks to be right on a weld. the truck was in motion i thought i hit a big bump. it also ruptured the gas tank. we called chrysler cooperation and they said to have a local dealer look at it. they did and told us it wasn't under warranty, which we already knew. i was shocked they didn't want to help and consider recalling the other trucks from the time and place this one was made to check their frames. i tried to send pictures but it won't let me on here this is my second attempt. i feel strongly that this is a major issue that someone from the highway safety department should at least look at. please get a hold of me so i can send you a picture of this broken frame so you can make your determination. thank you for your time. and this truck was in motion when the frame broke i thought i'd hit a big pothole *js

Where should i start my 2001 dodge dakota quad cab as with most complaints i also have had the same problems as other owners of this truck i have had to replace both leaf springs on the rear end both snapped at the same spot for no reason .have had to replace heater core ac core driverside door lock sometimes works also replaced passenger side complete hub assembly,now going to have to replace driver side,abs system now failing after replacing rear brake shoes on truck the control module for the abs system stays running after turning truck off have to unplug wiring. if toyota can recall there vehicles for safety reasons then so should american manufacturing and the government should make them. but us government doesn't want to upset company's and make them lose more money i for one plan to place a law suit against them for there neglect against defective parts on these trucks and cars i plan to use this web site and others as my bases for law suit with this many complaints there has to be a problem. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2001 dodge dakota. the contact stated that the engine began shutting off and the check engine light illuminated. the dealer replaced the fuel pump. the door hinges began coming apart on the driver side door, and the middle of the door also began to rip. the dealer would not assist with the repairs until after the warranty expired. the contact welded the door in place; however, it has begun to come apart again and will not remain locked. the window on the driver side door has also come off track. the contact had to add glue to secure the window in place. in april of 2008, the contact received a recall notice related to the emission park shift interlock. the recall repair has not been performed. the contact has photos. the recall number was unknown. the approximate failure mileage was 10,000 and current mileage was 71,997. updated 05/28/08 *bf the hydraulic pump was loosing pressure and the radiator overflow hose was replaced. updated 05/27/08

Cab and bed of vehicle collide whenever driven over a hill or bump in the road. dealer has been contatced. please provide further details.*ak

Water has leaked into the vehicle driver and passenger side floors on 5 separate occasions. the vehicle has been serviced for the water leaks on 29 aug. 01 and 10 oct. 01; however, on 7 dec. 01, the water leaked again causing the vehicles entire electrical system to fail while the vehicle was in motion. this defect creates a possible dangerous hazard. provided the vehicle is traveling at speeds of 65mph on a highway with precipitation, the loss of headlights and hazard lights could result in a vehicle crash or road hazard. could i please be notified if there are any other similar complaints or concerns on this.
