Tl*- the contact stated that while driving her 2000 dodge dakota (139000 failure mileage) at 50 mph in the light rain, she attempted to go around a slightly sharp curve, but the curve turned out to be sharper than expected. when the contacts applied the brakes heavily the wheels locked, and the contact skidded, hitting the embankment. after the crash, in the process of exiting the vehicle, the contact noticed that the seat belt belt did not tighten to secure the occupant in the seat. as a result, she hit her head on the windshield. *ak

Tl*the contact owns a 2000 dodge dakota. the drivers side seat belt buckle assembly has failed. the dealer/manufacturer will not replace the assembly free of charge. the current mileage is 93,000 and failure mileage was 52,000.

Vehicle struck a tree stump and none of the airbags deployed. the driver's side front seat belt released, throwing driver into the window. please provide any further information.

The sliding seat belt clip on the rear middle seat of the 2000 dodge dakota extended cab loses tension on very short trips (i.e., 3 miles or more). this loss of tension has rendered the seat unsafe for transporting children and adults because the seat belt does not stay snug against a person's body and lacks a tensioning device. the problem has been reported to the manufacturer on numerous occasions and despite multiple demonstrations of the defective condition, the manufacturer adheres to the claim that the seat belt operates according to specifications or the rear middle seat is not made for transporting children even though an average adult would not fit for lack of leg and shoulder room. nevertheless, despite the uncomfortable position, my husband has traveled in that seat and the seat belt still comes loose. the manufacturer claims that the seat belt will operate if positioned at a precise angle which is virtually impossible to duplicate under normal use. on one occasion, while turning, my daughter's car seat flipped because the seatbelt was loose.*jb

My wife hit a car that turned in front of her (t-bone)at 35 mph. airbags failed to deploy and the rear seatbelts failed to lock up and restrain back seat passenger.
