Takata recall. based on an original e-mail i sent nhtsa on 3/6/17, as suggested, i am "filing a complaint" i received a safety recall notice (s43 / nhtsa 16v-352) for the airbag in my 2006 dodge charger sometime in the late summer / early fall of 2016. since that time i have called the local chrysler (port jeff chrysler jeep dodge) dealership on at least 4 occasions to schedule the airbag replacement. the first 2 calls were made sometime late summer / early fall 2016, a third call was made on dec 2, 2016, and a 4th call was made on feb 17, 2017. during this last phone conversation (feb 17) the dealership service representative told me "we have no idea when we are getting the parts". in the "important safety recall" notice i received it states "if your dealer fails or is unable to remedy this defect without charge and within a reasonable time, you may submit a written complaint to the administrator, nhtsa...." i am familiar with the extensive takata airbag recall. but is the delay i am experiencing at the local dealership at an acceptable level. i will add that i am the car's original owner and that i did not purchase the car from the above mentioned dealership, as the local dodge dealership where the car was purchased was closed by chrysler several years back. since that closing i have taken my car to port jeff chrysler for numerous services as well as recalls, and have been very happy with their timely service. i am just concerned that one of the more critical safety features in a vehicle is taking so long to correct. please advise if this is an acceptable time frame for the recall to be corrected. ps: an entry for the "when did this happen" field below is required. i posted aug 15, 2016 as an on or about date in which, to the best of my recollection, is when i received the recall notice
While traveling on us 33 west bound in marysville ohio, just in front of exit honda parkway around 6 am, traffic came to a stop, as i was slowing down, estimating around 50 mph (70 speed limit), the car behind me crashed into the the rear of my car, after collision i responded by trying to steer my car to left, but hit the car in front of me. all three cars involved in the crash were totaled. the rear impact shattered the rear window and significant damage occurred to the rear of my car and also the front from the forward collision. the vehicle's airbags did not deploy, i hit my head on the steering wheel, and suffered from a diagnosed concussion as well as a severe strain to my neck. one year ago, i had taken my vehicle to a dodge dealer to get the airbag replaced due to a recall. considering this, i reached out to dodge and they assigned a case number to the incident. it has now been four weeks, since i have contracted them, and dodge is yet to respond to my issue. i have called several times each week, following up on the case but has not contacted me our provided me with any information. dodge has claimed to have attempted to reach out to me, but cited an issue with having wrong number, even as i have confirmed / verified my contact information every time i have contacted them.

Takata recall i received notification of safety recall s43 july 23rd and to date dealer still has no parts. this does not seem to me to be acceptable when possible injury may occur. and i do not understand why both sides were not done last year when the drivers side recall came up. chrysler corp. should care more for their customers safety. i sure hope we do not experience a problem before recall gets done..it could be costly.
Takata recall parts still not available from july 2016 and we can't use the front passenger seat since then. i need to be able to fully use all seats in this car to drive with entire family.

Takata recall - i never received a notification that i had a recall on my airbags - i will be looking into this shortly -- also, and more importantly, my engine stalls after i refuel -- there is no recall on this issue but apparently it happens a lot as i did see that there was an inquiry into this -- this just started to happen to my car in the last 2 years and so therefore it is out of warranty.
I have been driving while there has been no parts made available for my vehicle. i have stern concerns about driving my vehicle and a possibility the air bag can rupture and i can be hit with pieces of metal.
