Takata recall. my car is fine but i have been waiting 7 months for recall parts to replace my airbag inflator. r37/nhtsa 15v-444. fiat chrylser america's recall assistance center (18008531403) is just an answering service with no actual information about availability of parts and about limits to how many parts a dealer can order. but the representative mark from the recall assistance center says parts are available to be ordered. my local dealer, nyle maxwell supercenter, says that fiat chrysler only allows them to order 10 at a time, and the 10 parts they have on hand are already scheduled to be used for other people's vehicles. there's no way to find out why fiat chrysler only allows them to order 10 at a time, and nyle maxwell supercenter claims there's no way to special order the part that i need, despite the fact that the part is available.

Takata recall (s43 - 16v-352, july 1, 2016) - "the front passenger airbag inflator housing may rupture while deploying during a crash. the potential for such ruptures may occur in some of the subject airbag inflators after several years of exposure to persistent conditions of high absolute humidity and/or heat aging. in the event of a front passenger airbag inflator rupture, metal fragment(s) could pass through the airbag cushion material, which may result in additional injury or death to vehicle occupants." i own a 2010 dodge challenger and am still waiting to have this recall fixed. there was a similar recall on this vehicle july 14, 2015 (r37 / 15v-444) -"the driver airbag inflator housing in your vehicle may rupture, due to excessive internal pressure, during normal airbag deployment events. this condition is more likely to occur if your vehicle has been exposed to high levels of absolute humidity for extended periods of time. the inflator could rupture with metal fragments striking the vehicle occupants potentially resulting in serious injury or death." an inflator rupture may result in metal fragments striking the vehicle occupants resulting in serious injury or death. this is my only vehicle that i use to transport my teenager and toddler. i am at risk every day when i am driving my vehicle. knowing that this serious problem exists and cannot be fixed is extremely unsettling. how many more injuries and deaths is it going to take before action is taken??? *tr

I had a takata driver side airbag recalled and replaced. several months ago, perhaps a year, i received via mail a recall notice for the passenger airbag; however, there were no available parts to fix it. i haven't received any further information. i'm wondering what the status is? how do i get this repaired etc. should i have the airbag disabled? will anyone even perform that service?

I was going down i-81 north at 11:30 pm temp was 43 and dry i had the cruise set at 70 mph and the car was shaking real bad it started jumping and then the car revved to 5000 rpm and stopped pulling i put the car in neutral and coasted to try to get off the highway was able to get to the gardrail at the 124.7 mm and sit there the car would not sit in park it would roll backwards so i applied the parking brake until wrecker arrived ,i have gotten my car assessed at berglund dodge in roanoke va the problem was the pinion nut has backed off and because of the rate of speed the pinion yoke has been destroyed .it is going to be a 650.00 repair i called dodge and the warranty ran out on my car on june 22,2015 this car only has 31,152 miles on it and thought they may fix the problem because there has been several recalls about the pinion nuts backing off the car hasn't been driven because of the shortage of the air bags not available to be replaced and i'm somewhat scared to drive it and the thoughts of being hit on the side of the highway was some uneasy.

I received a letter of recall for a part in the air bag. the recall letter said that the bag could explode or have metal fragments fly out if moisture gets in the airbag. this could cause serious injury or death. i called about my recall and the recall center told me that they would have the part by october to fix my airbag. i called october 12 and they told me they didn't know when they were going to get the part. i don't want to drive my car all around if it can explode at any time and i could be seriously injured or die.

I was sold this car from a dealership with an open recall for the wireless ignition, it was not brought to my attention and i only found out about it due to me trying to get help for the other recall for the airbag. i have basically been told my life does not matter, i am expected to continue to drive this car until further notice even though it has 2 serious safety recalls that has already caused death and serious injury.
