Tl* the contact owns a 2008 chrysler sebring. the contact stated that the vehicle stalled. the vehicle also erroneously accelerated while the brake pedal was depressed. the vehicle was towed to the dealer for diagnosis however, the technician was unable to diagnose the failure but rebooted the electrical system as a precaution. the failure recurred intermittently. the contact referenced nhtsa campaign number: 08v152000 (electrical system) and was advised by the manufacturer was that the vin was not included in the recall. the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 55,000. *tr

While driving the check engine light came on and the engine stalled. when tested the engine code came back as electrical short. the dealership where i purchased the car did not fix the problem but cleared the engine code. a few weeks later the check engine light came back on. while traveling at 50 mph, and coming to a stop, the engine stopped running and the brakes failed to stop the car. after going thru a red light another car broadsided my car. *tr

When i am driving and it is raining or has rained or if the car is wet there is an issue with the car skipping/ stalling out when you accelerate. this only occurs when the car is wet. it has cut completely off at an intersections before. this usually happens with speeds less than 40 mph or you can hear and feel it pulling/ when driving at higher speeds. i thought it was the spark plugs going bad and had them replaced that they did not fix the problem. this is dangerous because you are not able to determine when it will stall out/skip. i have taken it to the dealership on numerous occasions and they could not determine what the problem could be. or state no problem found. this has gone one for two years. *tr

Went out to car to go to the store unlocked my car with my remote and horn started sounding for no reason. tried to press unlock/lock with remote horn still sounding. at that point i got back in my car tried shutting the doors and starting the vehicle alarm still sounding. after about 10 minutes i kept messing with the remote trying to shut off the horn finally the horn stopped. after a huge embarrassment and several by-standers trying to assist me in shutting the horn off i had to leave my car unlocked while i went into the grocery store. quickly raced through the store got what i needed went back out to my vehicle started the engine horn continuously went off as i drove home. this is continually happening to me as i drive my car. i feel that this is a safety issue that chrysler needs to repair free of charge. *tr

After i received work done on the electrical-recall, my car keeps on stalling. this can be very scary and has almost caused several accidents. my car should not be shutting off while driving. i did not have this problem until after the recall was fixed on my car. this needs to be fixed before someone gets hurt. *tr

My instrumental cluster lights went out so i can not see anything at night. my speed control/cruise control is no longer functioning. *tr

The car will stall..with little to no notice. it makes you loose control of the whole car. the electronic throttle control light which will come on sometime and never go off unless you stop the car and restart. *tr

Bought certified used 2008 chrysler sebring convertible 7/11 with 18,000 miles. fall, 2011 radio stuck on one am channel regardless of selecting am, fm, or sirius. dealer offered to sell me new radio. after radio not used for a week, started to function okay again. july, 2012 headlight on message and alarm upon opening door, daytime, no key in ignition, no headlights on, interior dash display lights on but dim like for nighttime. 12/12 interior lights would not shutoff automatically when i exited car, switch not in on position. ongoing: auto brightness display on radio does not work. top down on key fob does not work. winter, 2013 stalled twice at red lights, also had clunking noise when turning. dealer said steering rack was worn and leaking and had to be replaced (35,000 miles) and was not under warranty. dealer also cleaned throttle plate and fuel injectors for stalling problem. even after this service car continued to stall, sometimes catching itself and speeding up which causes car to surge forward. as of today, 8/17/13 car has 40,050 miles on it and i wonder what's next. *tr

On september 30, 2010, i purchased a 2008 chrysler sebring from a dealership in plymouth, wi. the car had 19,204 miles on it. the car also had bridgestone turanza tires. i took my car into tires plus for an oil change at 22,700 miles on the dash. i was told by the technician that i needed new tires, because my tires had 3/32 of tread on them. on january 28, 2011, there was a recall on the car so gandrud installed a auto trans shift lever interlock spring.they also checked tire pressure and set tire pressure. a about a month later, i started having trouble with getting my key out of the ignition switch. having to wiggle the steering column to get it out. i took the car back to gandrud to have them check it and they told me nothing was wrong with it. on may 11, 2011, i took my car in for another oil change and tire rotation. gandrud told me i had 4/32 tread on the tires at 30,026 miles. on june 24, 2011, i took it back to gandrud for another oil change at 33,572 miles on the dash and was told i had 4/32 of tire tread left on the tires. it was not two months later, i moved to milwaukee, wi. on august 18, 2011, amato hyundai was running a special for $12.00 an oil change. i went got an oil change and the technician there told me i needed to get new tires for the car. he stated at this time i had less than 2/32 of tread on my tire. i got a quote from the service guy, decided i can beat that price.set-up an appointment with tires plus for four tires an alignment. unfortunately, i did not make it to get my new tires on the car. on september 03, 2011, i was involved in a car accident on the freeway. i was traveling in far left lane, maneuvering to the middle lane when my steering wheel and my tires were no longer functioning together. i almost lost my life that day, but god so fit for me to live to tell about it. it was the most shocking day of my life. i thank god i am here to make a complaint. these dealerships can't continue to scam us this way. it's not worth our life. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2008 chrysler sebring. the contact stated that while driving at 50 mph, the vehicle stalled. the contact also stated that the vehicle failed to start intermittently. the vehicle was taken to the dealer who replaced the spark plugs. the vehicle was also taken to a private mechanic who replaced the alternator two times and the battery but the failure recurred. the failure was reported to the manufacturer. the contact referenced nhtsa campaign id number 08v152000 (electrical system: electrical), however, the vin was not included. the failure mileage was 45,000. the current mileage was 60,000.

A throttle control warning light appears on the dash off and on at intermittent times the car loses power and dies without warning. it has died on the highway several times so far, but will restart after a few minutes. it seems to happen when the fuel is less than half way full more than any other time and/or when traveling uphill. rpm dial on the car jumps erratically just before the throttle warning light appears. problem has not occurred while traveling at less than 45 mph. afraid that the problem will cause an accident, if it happens when another vehicle is traveling behind me. *tr

Took my 2008 chrysler sebring to have recall part trans shift interlock spring replaced. when i arrived to pick up the vehicle the battery was dead. the service dept including the manager said the battery must have gone dead while they were replacing the recalled part. all service people including the manager did not even want to jump the vehicle so that we could bring it home. the vehicle had never had a dead battery before this. ever since the part was replaced the battery keeps going dead. battery was replaced about 3 months ago and still have the same problem. we get no assistance from the local dealership except for them to say they are not responsible. *tr

I was traveling back to los angeles,ca from sedona, az. it had been raining off/on all day. sometimes lightly and often times very heavy with wake water coming off of other cars and trucks on a very busy ca highway. my windshield wipers completely stopped working during heavy downpour twice. had to crawl off the freeway while unable to see because of no wipers. had to wait at least 15 minutes before they would work again after the first failure. was able to travel using the delayed intermittent sequence until rain got too heavy. when switched to faster wiping after ten minutes wipers stopped again. luckily again i was able to crawl to the side of the road, and i waited for the rain to stop. i have not had this happen before and i have driven long and short distances in the rain. another issue is i have had on three different occasions over the last year and 1/2, the car shut off/stall while waiting at red lights, and once while the car was moving it started to stall. at no time did the engine malfunction light,or electrical light come on or stay on. i was told by chrysler technicians/mechanics that unless the light stays on they can't diagnose the problem. otherwise the failure had to be duplicated, i.e, have to occur in the presence of the technicians. well you know how that goes. i understand that my car was not part the 08v152000 recall, but this situation is dangerous. please help.

Car would not start. no crank no nothing. online it states part recalled, but chrysler said recall doesn't affect my car... even though i drive a 2008 chrysler sebring recall doesn't affect me???? doesn't affect me but part doesn't work on my car. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2008 chrysler sebring. while driving various speeds with the accelerator pedal depressed, the vehicle jerked forward and the electronic throttle failure warning indicator illuminated. the contact heard a grinding sound coming from the front of the vehicle. the rear brakes would not operate correctly. there was corrosion in the trunk and around the rear driver side and passenger side doors. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the vehicle was diagnosed with needing the alternator replaced and the rear brakes needed adjustment. the electronic throttle issue was not diagnosed or repaired. the contact had the alternator replaced and the brakes adjusted. the contact mentioned that the throttle issue has persisted. the manufacturer was made aware of the failures. the failure mileage was 40,000.

chrysler sebring 2008 however, i am having problem with the electronic throttle control light which will come on sometime and never go off unless you stop the car and restart. when electronic throttle control light is on you cannot break to stop the car, or speed up. it make you loose control of the whole car increasing the potentiality of accident if you was driving at any speed above 25 mph. i went to chrysler dealerships, but they do not know what is going on with the car or could cause that failure, `and have no idea how to fix it. i do not know if this problem is related to the power train. the problem happened to me already more than 30 times. *tr

Car has 50,000 miles on it. this has been a problem for years. the ignition switch sticks when car is started and you have to manually turn it back to on so starter will disengage. when i heard of recall recently on other models i was surprised this car hadn't been included. *tr

We have a 08 chrysler sebring it was taken to nissan about 2 months ago we were told it was the battery charged 75. for a diag fee. the car itself dies when at a stop sign or red lite it will suddenly rev up the motor and just turn off. it started to stall and not turn on the battery was having to be charged over and over. finally we changed the starter and bought a new battery that was 2 months ago.now it is doing the same thing the battery is dying we have just taken it in to get recharged just to find out if it is the alternator. the recall that was done on the sebring for the tire pressure monitor does not include our car. i don't see how the same vehicle the same year is doing the exact same problems does not get included in the recall. *tr

Electrical problems include power seat inoperable; cig lighter/electric port inoperable; random alarm sounding; power top shows top with trunk inoperable.

Cab wires to battery caught on fire with family riding in vehicle part was order and replace two months later causing the alternator going out tire pressure light cuts off and on and engine light cuts off and on dealer told me it was still under factory warranty took it to the chrysler dealer told them about the four recalls i found on the car and the dealer is saying the vin number doesn't match but my car is have all the descriptions of all four recalls. *tr

My 2008 chrysler sebring was brought back to the dealer for a week to have my instrument cluster display repair because it is 1/4 tank off and the car run out of gas twice in the highway because it is still showing a 1/4 tank left .the last incident happen yesterday 3/21/09 . the car just stop while cruising and the fuel gage still show a 1/4 tank left. i have to pull over and luckily ii didn't get into an accident and loose control of my car when it run out odf gas. *tr

I purchased a 2008 chrysler sebring in august 2007, from darcars brand new, at the time of purchase chrysler was aware of the recall 6months prior and made no attempt to inform me. my car is currently at the dealership being serviced. i took the car in because suddenly the car begin to make a horrible noise, that i described to the customer service representative as a noisy fan belt, that whinnied while driving, but noisiest while in park, odilimg at the stop light. i took the car in and they pretended not to have a clue, and begin to inquire about oil changes and other suggested maintenance, i showed the writer and mechanic my most current maintenance receipt printout along with the previous dates, so they backed away from the indirect accusations that it was possibly my fault. the power steering pump is defected, the pulley froze, and the alternator. the car has only been used to transport my children to and from school and social events, and my transportation to and from work, grocery stores and things of that nature. my mileage is 31,418. they are behaving as if they don't have a clue, but after looking into several recall links, i am appalled that they knowingly sold me a lemon at regular price, with no discount. i have supporting documents. i only received on recall notice, but being the driver and experiencing the problems, there should have been recalls for recall id 07v473000, and recall dated for april 2, 2008 sebring electrical system;wiring recall id 35950. also the recall titled engine and engine cooling;cooling system radiator id#55084. the alternator is an electrical operating piece, it also tie into the recall titled "tire pressure monitor, because one of the consequences include stalling, and battery corrosion, and stopping without notice, which is also caused by a defected alternator. i drive two school age children, two grandchildren, 1month, and 13months old. chrysler put us all in danger knowingly. but still to date acts as if they do not have a clue. *tr

On 01/30/09 my 2008 chrysler sebring engine light came on and the car started shaking and loosing power. was able to drive to dealer the next day and the dealer replace one spark plug and ignition coil. then few days later on 2/3/09 the same engine light malfunction indicator came on again and the car started rough and vibrating, return to car dealers for a second diagnostic and the dealer found that the car pcm was faulty. dealer replaced defective pcm. *tr
