Car will intermittently not start on first attempt. it starts after key is turned to off, waiting for 60 seconds, than a successful start. one incident where the vehicle completely sundown while in operation on a city street. dealership where the vehicle was originally purchased completed the alleged repair. dealership said it was battery, efficient cold cranking amps. battery replaced. eight hundred dollars later. the problem still exists. the times that starting failed the vehicle was always parked for thirty minutes or more. the problem began in april. the vehicle is in excellent shape. 118k miles. vehicle has been maintained according to chrysler guidelines. purchased new.
Engine cradle has rotted through and cracked. after searching the internet, this is very common problem with chrysler pacificas (model years 2004-2008). contacted chrysler, and they advised that there are no recalls and will not assist further.
I am having issues with my vehicle gears, when i put it in park it will not come out of park. i understand there is an open recall for this issue, however my make and model is not affected by it and am disturbed to think that i am not covered under the recall.
Takata recall since november my car has randomly been stalling while i'm driving leaving me with no power steering or brakes. i have constantly taken it to get checked and no one can seem to find a problem with my engine or anything else. when i did some research i found out that previous model years had the same problem and were recalled.
Car stalls randomly while driving with no warning or engine codes to repair leaving you with no power steering or brakes. this same problem was recalled on the 2005 and 2006 models with f44 safety recall, but not on the 2007 and 2008. happened 5 times in the last 3 weeks.
2nd time in 6 months a control sensor to engine seems to short out while driving cutting off power to engine while driving leaving me with power and no acceleration and power steering as all engine, oil, traction dash lights come on and car is rendered dead and must pull over by coasting dangerously to side of highway. twice chrysler has put my life in jeopardy by car suddenly dying while driving at high speeds.
The vehicle shuts off while driving. hard to steer and have to come to a complete stop in order to restart.
Catalytic converter are bad. i had to replace both converts 3 times.if you research this several people has had the same problem motor mounts, i have replaced then 3 times. ignition coils have been replaced several times. the same 1. the chrysler pacifica is garbage. it was garbage then, it's garbage now. chrysler has many problems with there cars and they are never recalled of fixed . all chrysler do is stop making that car.

When u driving the car and come to a stop sign or stop light the car turns completely off and no lights are anything comes on to show that there is a problem. it starts back up but when u go to the next light it cranks back off again. it has not cranked off when u driving a distance yet, but when make a complete stop at a light or stop sign it cranks off again. this has happened at least 50 times since june 22nd. i've tested the battery and the alternator and they are fine but the problem is still happening.
Takata recall at 60 mph the vehicle starts to shake. brand new tires balaced properly, new caliper, and wheel aligjnment. electrical light on dash keeps coming on and can not exceed 40 mph and vehicle ahuts off sometimes leaving no steerimg or breaks
This vehicle has had one major issue with the fuel system. when the fuel gauge gets to half way, the gauge drops to e and does not want to accept gas. it acts like it's full and you can barely put any gas in. when this happens the vehicle acts like it's out of gas even when it's not causing me to run out of gas while driving down the interstate and sometimes the car won't even start when it drops below half way.also, my odometer reads gascap like there's a leak but it's a brand new gas cap. i've read days worth of information on the world wide web and this is the most common issue but noone has done anything about it. it is not fair to the consumer. i know i will never buy another chrysler and i will warn others not to also. not only that but my seatbelts do not work anymore, two of them anyway. my kids have to sit in the far back to buckle up. i bought this vehicle used. i've had the fuel pumps replaced, the vapor canister and vapor filter replaced, gas cap, ect. nothing repairs the issue. i know now why the previous owner gave it up, if i didn't have to pay a down payment, i would have already let it go back.
When turning to the right or the left i can hear a rubbing type noise. i took it into the two different dealers on two separate occasions complaining of the noise, but the dealers could not duplicate the problem. when i turn i hear a rubbing noise and now when i reverse there is a loud grinding/rubbing noise similar to the noise that i get when turning. the noise generally occurs first thing in the morning after i have started my car and reverse it. if my car has been sitting for a while it will do the noise then too! i'm unsure what is causing the noise and since the dealers can't duplicate it they have not done anything either. i'm quite concerned as to what can be causing these noises and i do believe that they are linked! i noticed another pacifica owner had the same problem as i did so now i know it's not just my car.
Purchased this car used in february 2008. shortly thereafter i noticed a knock in the front when turning wheel at low speeds (ie, backing up). also felt slight vibration on acceleration. dealer unable to find anything until june 2009. miles 38733. front tie rod was broken and replaced by dealer. this did not resolve the knock or the vibration on acceleration. knock continued and got worse. at 61000, the car was again brought in for the knocking. at first look, the mechanic did not see a problem. i explained that at extreme turn of wheel at low speeds, there is a distinct knock in front. after his further inspection, i was advised by service center that the car has two (2) broken motor mounts and this could be the source of the knock and vibration. was taken to dodge dealer where purchased to confirm broken motor mounts. parts were replaced under extended warranty. still did not resolve the knock.
We purchased this vehicle used, and from day one we noticed the transmission banged into gear. after numerous trips to the dealer and them unable to find the problem, i asked them to check the motor mounts. they discovered a broken mount, the repair cost me $440, this occurred at 46151 mi. now at approx 74000 mi 2 more engine mounts have failed the bill this time will be $723. we do not drive aggressively or abuse this vehicle, after an online search this seems to be a defect in the chrysler pacifica line of cars. with the engine shifting in the engine compartment it will be only a matter of time before a fuel line, brake line or other vital line or hose will be compromised causing a fire or loss of vehicle control. i feel a recall should be issued and the defective part replaced and those who already replaced the defective part reimbursed.
