We have classified the 10 complaints from 2006 Chrysler Pacifica about EXTERIOR LIGHTING into the following categories.
Car is stalling while driving and fuel pump and system have had to be replaced twice! head lights and turning signals are have to be replaced often as well!
Low beam headlights flicker when vehicle is running and after a few minutes go out. this makes it very difficult to drive at night as the headlights will go completely out. tested with vehicle stationary and in motion on a state maintained lettered roadway.
As i was driving all of a sudden the dashboard and headlights started flickering and the warning icons dinged on. this has continued to occur and the mechanic can not determine the cause of the problem. *tr
Vehicles low beam headlights have gone out multiple times while driving. after replacing them multiple time they have now quit working completely. previous model years have had the same issue and have had a recall. i think that this is a serious safety issue and should be addressed, regardless of age or mileage. this is obviously a manufacturing defect. *tr
Was driving in the rain and my low beams shut off. the highbeams continued to work as well as my marker lights, and flood lights. i replaced both bulbs and still had no low beams. everything else works except them. did research on the internet to learn the 2005 models had a similar issue and there was a recall but the 2006 models are not covered even though it is the same issue. *tt
Sporadically the abs & brake warning lights come on the dashboard lights come on and the radio cuts out. the main issue is that when all of this happens the headlights also flicker and go out. when driving at night the headlights are very distracting to myself as well as other vehicles on the road. once i was driving at night and my headlights completely went out for a few seconds. the dealer can't figure out what is causing the issue and there is no specific reason that causes it to happen. *tr
the headlights (low beam only) just stopped working. no warning at all. checked bulbs and they are fine. i am not getting power to the low beam lights. the high beams work fine along with the signals, horn, flashers, etc.. i know chrysler has a recall on the 2005 models, and can't understand why the 2006 are not included!! it's the same problem. *tr
Drivers side headlamp worked intermittantly and then lost power. there is no power leading to the low beam headlamp assy. 2005 models had a recall for this exact problem, but chrysler tells me that my 2006 shows no recalls per my vin. this is very dangerous that my headlights can fail while driving and cause a crash. also replacing bulbs will not help this situation because the problem is in the integrated power module (fuse box). so you cannot even drive your car home if this problem happens to you on the road. very dangerous and a horrible design by chrysler. *tr
I have a 2006 chrysler pacifica with 65000 miles. exterior headlights and interior dash lights begin to flicker while driving. also, abs & brake lights are flickering on and off. this occurs several times daily..especially in the mornings when headlights are in use. i fear headlights will go out permanently and will cause a crash. have seen several complaints from other consumers.. why has there not been a recall . replaced several sensors will not results. *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2006 chrysler pacifica. the contact stated that the headlights failed to operate normally. the dealer has not diagnosed the failure. the contact is aware of the safety risk since the headlights could shut off while driving and crash could occur. the current mileage was 56,000 and the failure mileage was 55,000.
on march 5, 2012 i was required to pay $95.00 for a full diagnostic to satisfy [xxx] ([xxx] corporate office). the service was rendered by capital chrysler 200 waterfield ridge place, garner nc 27529. the service rep [xxx] and service manager [xxx] informed me that the catalytic converter replacement looked used due to the rust on it and was causing other mechanical failures in my vehicle but would not confirm this in writing. i do not have an extra $1000.25 sitting around to pay for a part that chrysler is well aware of it being defective or used. chrysler settled a lawsuit in 2005-6 with the u. s. environmental protection agency for the defective catalytic converter. in closing, as a resolution to this matter i would like all repairs related to this matter replaced at no expense to me by a certified chrysler dealership of my choosing. after viewing the information on the following websites; http://www.daimlerchryslervehicleproblems.com, http://www.epa.gov/compliance/resources/cases/civil/caa/daimlerchrysler-fcsht.html, and http://www.lemonaidcars.com/secretwarranties.html i am even more educated and convinced that my 02 oxygen sensors and catalytic converter were defective initially when i purchased my vehicle and that it was replaced with a used and/or defective by [xxx] chrysler dealership. listed below are additional issues i have experienced with my car since owning it: 1.second replacement of catalytic converter and 02 oxygen sensors 2.head lights and tail light going out faster than any other car i have owned. 3.humming engine noise, less engine power than it initially had, 4.frequent replacement of the battery 3 times in5 years. is that normal? 5.sticky gas pedal, it is very hard to push down at times information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr
My vehicle has back-up lights that do not provide any illumination what-so-ever. there has been no accidents as of yet but several near misses. you cannot tell if someone or something is directly behind the vehicle while in reverse. *jb
Tl*the contact owns a 2006 chrysler pacifica. the contact stated that the vehicle would not accelerate properly while driving 60 mph. she took the vehicle to the dealer and they replaced the sensors. the contact also noticed that the vehicle was using excessive fuel at low mileages and she smelled a strong odor of gasoline coming from the vehicle. she took the vehicle back to the dealer and they stated that the wires in the electrical system were damaged. the repair would cost $3,000; however, the dealer could not diagnose the failure pertaining to the fuel system. the vehicle has not been repaired. weeks later, the driver side head lamp failed, reducing all visibility. several months later, the vehicle would vibrate abnormally and was taken back to the dealer. the technician replaced another sensor. days later, the contact noticed that the accelerator pedal would become stuck in a fixated position, but the dealer could not duplicate the failure. lastly, while driving approximately 5 mph, the vehicle stalled without any warning. she took the vehicle to the dealer, but they could not diagnose the failure. she is in the process of notifying the manufacturer. the failure mileage was 200 and current mileage was 32,000.
Incident #1: 3 days after purchasing the vehicle, i noticed there was something wrong with my brakes. i took it in and was told that my rotors needed to be replaced (the vehicle had 30 miles on it when i bought it). i was told all the rotors were warped. incident #2: approximately 4 weeks after purchasing, my left headlight went out. not a major problem, but still an inconvenience...especially when car is brand new. incident #3: i was making a right hand turn out of the parking lot when vehicle stalled on me. my steering wheel locked up and i glided across 2 lanes of the road (amazingly without hurting myself or others). no warning at all. vehicle started back up just find...but very scary. took it into the service and was told that my computer needed to be "flashed" incident #4: abs light came on out of nowhere and i felt a "fluttering" of the brake pedal when pressing the brake. i was told the sensors needed to be replaced and they were. incident #5: received my vehicle back from repair on incident #4 on tuesday, vehicle is back in the shop today (2 days later). fluttering from the brake pedal again. unsure what the outcome is...still in service. fortunately, none of these incidents have caused me, my family, or others any injury or harm but each of these incidents (besides the headlight) could have resulted in serious injuries or resulted in deaths. *nm
