My gas pedal sticks. when i turn on my car to back out of a parking spot the pedal will not move unless i push down hard on it. to avoid hitting cars backing out or parking lots you have to use force on the pedal to move the car and it jerks forward fast with no control other than to hold your foot over the brake at the same time so you do not accelerate into a vehicle.
The drivers seat quit working and all controls on the stearing wheel quit working and could not shut turn signals off.
The gas pedal sticks on this vehicle when trying to accelerate. when the car does finally start moving forward it "jerks" forward rapidly. this has occurred when pulling out of park & also when trying to pull out into traffic. from researching it on the internet it seems to be a common issue related to the throttle body.
Motor mounts replaced, tie rods replaced, control arms replaced all done in the last month !! why doesn't chrysler have a recall out on this issues since it's known for it! oh did i mention the gas pedal gets stuck all the time! other thing is my check engine light keeps coming on and off...it's been diagnosed as the fuel pump....really at this point i'm tired of putting money into the car. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 chrysler pacifica. the contact stated while driving in reverse out of a residential garage, the accelerator became stuck without warning. the vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 118,000. the current mileage was 119,500.
I had the brakes repaired in 2012; the next month the abs light came on and the sensor was replaced. ten months later, the sensor light came on again. i was told it was insignificant, that the brakes are fine. in the fall of 2013, i had the car towed to a shop because it tried to accelerate while i was pressing the brakes. i spent over $800.00 having a bunch of codes cleared with the transmission and other things. the engine light was off for a few days but came back on. there was an error that read gas cap. i replaced the gas cap but the engine light remains on. in march 2014 the brake light came on, i was told that i needed to replace the calibers but later was told that i didn't. i had someone else to check and they said that i needed new front brakes. i had those replaced. on 4/7/2014, i was leaving the parking garage at the doctor's office and the gas pedal was stuck. lucky for me it was on a downhill slope and i was able to stop at the stop sign and put the car in park and press the accelerator to unstick it. today, april 13, 2014 the brake light is back on and there is a noise in the frontend. i love my car but it just does not feel safe to drive. *js
The auto shop that repaired our car said these problems were not from the accident, we fixed the speed control, now it still saying we are going 50 and were going 30, the sway bar is not from the wreck either, this car has trouble too much air is out too, it's been money, money thank you. *tr
Gas pedal sticks when accelerating from stop position. gas tank gauge drops from 90 gals to 30 in a matter of seconds. body paint is bubbling. any recalls or warranties on these issues? *tr
Our chrysler pacifica gas pedal sticks when you try to accelerate. *js
Driving down my residential street, slowed down slightly to turn into drive then slowly accelerated into and gas pedal sticks---had to slam on brakes to stop from hitting side of garage. this is the third incident i have had in which i am in the middle of driving and the gas pedal has stuck! *js
Cruise control was engaged at 70mph. all of a sudden, rpms jumped to 4000 and speed started to increase out of control. tapped the brake to disengage and did not work. pulled over and prepared to turn off the engine, hit the "cancel" button a couple of times for the cruise control. cruise finally disengaged and rpms dropped to normal range. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 chrysler pacifica. the contact stated that the accelerator pedal would intermittently become stuck in a partially depressed position. in order to release the pedal form that position, the contact had to apply more pressure to the pedal. the vehicle would surge forward or backward when this occurred. the contact took the vehicle to the dealer and the inside portion of the throttle was scraped out in order to remedy the failure. the dealer stated that the metal plate on the throttle got stuck and the remedy was a temporary fix. the vin was not available. the failure mileage was 63,000 and the current mileage was 74,000.
Ive had this car for just over one year. i have replaced 2 motor mounts, 6 months apart. the electric cooling fan motor bearing went bad and you cant replace just the motor, you have to replace both motors, both fans and the shroud ( ridiculous ). my check engine light is on and says fuel cap on dash but i replaced the cap and now as i'm looking on this site i know its probably the gas tank lines cracked. ive also got the sticky gas pedal, transmission bangs into 2nd randomly. my conclusion after reading about so many problems that many people are having with this vehicle is that there should be recalls. i mean jesus were talking about fire hazards and a sticking accelerator potentially causing an accident. nothing but problems with this car at such low miles. never again chrysler. *tr

Gas pedal sticks/jams. have to stomp on gas pedal to unstick which causes the car to speed forward or backward. *tr
2006 chrysler pacifica gas pedal sticks, when accelerating from a stop position. it happens a least 3 times a day. the vehicle was taken to the chrysler service department, and they could not find a problem. chrysler needs to be proactive before this gas pedal sticking causes a major ordeal for chrysler and consumers. also, the lifter noise complaints is also a common problem and nhtsa needs to research this defect more closely. i just had this repaired. *tr
Throttle sticks or will not move for first 1/4" of travel. when the pedal finally becomes unstuck, this causes rapid acceleration in stop and go traffic. *tr
While driving my chrysler pacific 2006 i notice that the gas pedal sticks when pushing down on the gas pedal making the car take off fast. i took the car to the dealer darcars and jeep chrysler of new carrollton md and they told me that the equip line to the gas tank was broke i inform them that i did not know how that could have happen when know one has ever work on my car. the manager was not caring at all i told him that i felt that this was a safety issue and he was not concern with the safety of my well being. i have also called the chrysler headquarter and inform them about my issue with the gas pedal. this could lead to me pushing on the gas pedal to hard and possibly running into the back of someone and our something else happening. mr. mike bayat who is the director of that dealership did not even go out to take a look at the problem he just to his tech work and i felt that the tech was the one who could have broken the line. i felt that i was taken advantage of because i am a women, i know that they make there money on how many repairs they do. my warranty cover this part and i felt that the person that was working on my car was trying to get over on me. another tech was there and he felt that the tech who had work on my car should have replace it under the warranty. this part is cover under the i have warranty and the manager could care less about my safety. i left there with the gas pedal still sticking and no concerns from the dealership. *tr
Accelerator pedal sticks after lifting. i have to exert extra pressure on the pedal to get the car to speed up. sometimes from a stop it sticks and the car lurches forward or reverse depending on the gear selected. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 chrysler pacifica. the contact stated the accelerator pedal went from intermittently feeling stiff to becoming intermittently stuck in the open throttle position. the contact took the vehicle to the dealer three times and was told that the accelerator pedal was working fine. on the most recent failure, the vehicle was towed to the dealer and the dealer advised the contact that the accelerator was broken and the vehicle could not be driven. the contact spoke with the manufacturer and was told that the vehicle cannot be repaired because the part for the vehicle was no longer being produced. the contact stated that the manufacturer had the vehicle for approximately thirty days before informing the contact that the vehicle could not be repaired. the failure mileage was 46,000 and the current mileage was 52,000.
I was driving down the road and my cruise control wouldn't dis-engage when i pressed the cancel button on the steering wheel. i tried it again and when i hit cancel it sped up!!. i was lucky that i was able to hit the brakes to make the cruise shut off other wise i could have caused a major accident. *tr

My wife has a 2006 chrysler pacifica and as of yesterday 2/22/2010 the accelerator pedal has stuck in the up position 3 times while she has been driving and 1 time while i was driving the vehicle on 2/21/10. the pedal sticks up so that it can not be pushed down. we have had to turn the vehicle off and restart before we can easily push the pedal down. i am concerned that a time may come where we are pulling out in traffic and the pedal sticks potentially causing our vehicle to not accelerate and causing an accident. *tr

on march 5, 2012 i was required to pay $95.00 for a full diagnostic to satisfy [xxx] ([xxx] corporate office). the service was rendered by capital chrysler 200 waterfield ridge place, garner nc 27529. the service rep [xxx] and service manager [xxx] informed me that the catalytic converter replacement looked used due to the rust on it and was causing other mechanical failures in my vehicle but would not confirm this in writing. i do not have an extra $1000.25 sitting around to pay for a part that chrysler is well aware of it being defective or used. chrysler settled a lawsuit in 2005-6 with the u. s. environmental protection agency for the defective catalytic converter. in closing, as a resolution to this matter i would like all repairs related to this matter replaced at no expense to me by a certified chrysler dealership of my choosing. after viewing the information on the following websites; http://www.daimlerchryslervehicleproblems.com, http://www.epa.gov/compliance/resources/cases/civil/caa/daimlerchrysler-fcsht.html, and http://www.lemonaidcars.com/secretwarranties.html i am even more educated and convinced that my 02 oxygen sensors and catalytic converter were defective initially when i purchased my vehicle and that it was replaced with a used and/or defective by [xxx] chrysler dealership. listed below are additional issues i have experienced with my car since owning it: 1.second replacement of catalytic converter and 02 oxygen sensors 2.head lights and tail light going out faster than any other car i have owned. 3.humming engine noise, less engine power than it initially had, 4.frequent replacement of the battery 3 times in5 years. is that normal? 5.sticky gas pedal, it is very hard to push down at times information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr
