Purchased the car aug, 2014. previous owner also had same issues. has been in shop several times, unable to pinpoint cause/remedy situation. seat controls do not work, remote keyfobs do not work, interior lights, head lamps, no electrical function present unless key is in ignition, in the "on" position. when shutting off the car, all lights on the dashboard light up and the only way to shut them off is to push on and then off the hazard lights. this will cause all electrical to go out, including the head lamps and all interior lights. if you do not turn them off by using the hazard lights, it will kill the battery. we have replaced the fuses in for the seats several times. they work for a bit and then blow out again. the mechanics have gone as far as to replace the wiring assembly and still no remedy. i don't know how there is not a recall on this vehicle.
The headlights intermittently would not work and then stopped working completely. i believe this is due to the wiring harness issue that was recall on many other 05 pacificas under 05v066000. my vin does not pull up that it was affected in this recall, but i have this and another issue that i submitted a complaint for that should be covered under the recall. the chrysler company said even though it appears to be the same issue in the recall, since my vin does not show to be apart of that recall, they will not do anything to help fix the costly issue. i do not know where else to go for help. i submitted a complaint through chrysler and they said they would not help unless there was a recall expansion that eventually included my vin, but not to count on it. i told chrysler that just because this vin was missed in the investigation that it was the right thing to do for them to fix it.. i was told they could not and would not help. thank you.. *tr

While turning into the bank parking lot at 10mph the car just stalled. i was unable to brake or steer out the way. when gas gauge reads empty i am unable to fill the tank with gas as it begins to spill back out. gas gauge reads 1/2 full when it is really empty? miles to empty sensor incorrect therefore i have no idea when i need gas. driver side exterior headlamp seems dimmer than the other lamp. after repairing the entire front end(suspension) still sounds like the front end is going to fall apart when driving on ohio roads. felt it was necessary to document as i do not feel safe in this car. *tr

I have previously reported a problem with the 2005 chrysler pacifica stalling when turning. the problem has progressively worsened. this month alone, (december 2011) the car has stalled 5 times. i am afraid to drive the car for fear that i will crash when it stalls. there are so many chrysler pacifica owners that are reporting the same problem. along with the stalling issue, the gas pedal sticks and needs to be pushed rather hard. a third problem i have encountered this year is the headlamps "burning out". i have replaced the front left headlamp three this year. i am familiar with the handling instructions for headlamps. i am greatly distressed by these problems, especially the stalling. i have children that i drive around in this car. please do something about chrysler's failure to fix this problem. *tr

2005 chrysler pacifica. consumer states problems with vehicle headlamps *tgw
Since i purchased my vehicle the front low beam lights have went out numerous times while driving at night. i have had them replaced on several occasions and the problem persists. recently i have had problems with my battery and was told by pepboys auto shop that something is draining the battery and its possibility is the exterior lighting/headlamps. even though i continue to replace the headlamps they keep going out and my battery is being drained. after 2 batteries in 3 years i had the alternator checked and it was in good condition. i was told to look up a recall list where i found exterior lighting 05v066000 and i called. i also have had a fuel pump problem that seems to exist and no one can figure out way. after getting it fixed by the chrysler dealership twice my vehicle will not pass smog because of another leak. i also found out that there are complaints of some similar issues fuel pump/powertrain control module software 06v432000 and i called. please put these to issues on the recall list so that auto owners will be safe on the road and california's air will not be polluted by the fumes. *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2005 chrysler pacifica. while driving approximately 30 mph, the driver side headlight stopped functioning. the bulb had been replaced five times. also, while driving, the vehicle jerked forward and the transmission would slip into gears. the vehicle had not been inspected or repaired. the failure mileage was approximately 54,000 and the current mileage was 86,584.
2005 chrysler pacifica. right headlight will quit with no warning, then will come back on its own accord. dealer checked for previous reports of problem and found none. mechanic said the harness comes loose and must be reseated. no easy task since it is under the breather tube and difficult to get to. also, left rear turn signal will quit working then come back on. wiring harness seems to be intact so other option would be bulbs (2). however, if they are bad, why does the signal restore itself? dealer had no answer for that mystery either. problem started mid-summer 2008 and has continued intermittently ever since. *tr
My 2005 chrysler pacifica has a defective headlight harness but is not covered under the recall because of the vin #. i contacted chrysler but they said oh well, take to dealership and pay for the repairs. i only get 7volts of power to the left headlight and the right i have 10.5volts- barely enough to light the right headlight. even though my vin # is not on the list to be recalled, it appears chrysler did not fix this problem in the later vin # pacifica's. chrysler needs to fess up that this is an engineering snapfu that is dangerous to us since the headlight will only fail, and that is at night when safety is a big issue. *tr
Headlight bulbs keep burning out. at least 6 times since 2007. the first time both lamps were replaced even though only one had gone out, the rest of the times they were replace individually and every time sylvania bulbs were used. i feel this constitutes a safety problem and not normal maintenance. also the drivers door lock mechanism broke in dec. 2009 where the door would not latch close and had to be tied shut the take it for repair. i feel this is also a serious safety failure. *tr
I currently have a 2005 chrysler pacifica touring fwd that was purchased on june 28,2008. since the time of purchase i have had to replace my driver's side headlight bulb 3 times. i have placed a call to the dealer i purchased the car from and also chrysler's customer service. they tell me that my vin number does not appear on any recalls that they have. i however, do not understand and have never had a vehicle that has needed a headlight replaced those many times in one year. *tr

Headlights and dash lights alternate erratically from bright to dim at lower engine speeds. sometimes almost off then very bright. have had it several times to dealer and only replaced headlight switch after i was informed was normal operation on the first two visits. very annoying at stop lights at night. some times think will go out all together. *tr

Several problems with replacing headlights annually about three months apart since ownership 10/06, problem with engine light repeatedly coming on - was advised by certified mechanic it's the fuel tank, very expensive to replace or fix. *tr
I purchased a 2005 pacifica touring with awd in the summer of 2006. three times my car has had difficulties when there was a dusting of snow blowing over the road. the 1st incident was on jan. 24 2007, the front end of my vehicle started to lose control and finally i went into a spin. i was in the left lane of a 2 lane road heading south. my car spun in front of the vehicle in the right lane, through the ditch, and finally ended up in the trees on the other side of the ditch. i suffered only minor injuries-neck sprain, but i took out a highway sign and a tree. damages to my car totaled over $11,000, i got it back from the body shop 1 month after the accident. the 2nd time i was by myself, the 3rd time i had my 1 year old daughter in the back seat, both times i wasn't driving fast, the second time it kept swaying even after slowing down to 30 mph. this has caused me a lot of concern so my husband started having to drive me to work during the winter months. now we are planning to sell the pacifica because of the poor gas mileage. i don't feel comfortable selling this vehicle without reassurance that there's nothing wrong with it. recently the front end has started to make noise every once in a while also. it makes a low thudding sound that makes my ears feel like they're going to pop. my husband tried putting the car in neutral and turning the ignition off, but it still kept making the noise. it first started about 2 months ago and i've heard it three times, we've also had problems with the blinkers failing to turn off.
Dt*: the contact stated a recall letter was received for the headlights, #05v066000, and the vehicle was taken to the dealership. the vehicle was at the dealership for two days, but the parts were not available therefore the vehicle was taken back by the owner. seven months later, a second dealership was contacted to perform the recall repair. upon inspection; the dealership determined the recall work had not been done. when contacting the manufacturer it was stated the previous dealership reported the work had been done and a second repair would not be authorized. the vehicle does not have the problem associated with the recall.
Dt: the contact stated turning left into a drive or a private lot that has an incline the vehicle stalls. the vehicle restarts each time. the dealership installed a co-pilot and determined the fuel pump was losing power. the fuel pump was replaced. the problem continued and the dealership was unable to determine the problem.*ak the left turn signal failed, the abs light illuminated, which resulted in the replacement of the wheel speed sensor, the left real tail light and battery were replaced. updated 08/14/06. *jb
2005 chrysler pacifica: brake light failure. the brake lamp switch failed and needed replacement 3 times. this seemed unusually high in a 2 year period.*ak
The left headlight would come on and off on its own. this causes poor visibility while driving at night. driver took vehicle to the dealer for inspection, and mechanic determined that the connector needed to be replaced. *ak
