On my way to work i stopped and put $15 dolalrs in the tank i was just below a half tank now. i drove roughly 5-10miles and when i was driving around 30mph the oil can light came on and then my steering got tight and brakes got tight. it was like they went out. my car engine then shut off and i coasted to the shoulder the best i could. this almost caused a large accident. i tried starting the car immediately after it made noise but would not start a couple minutes later i started it and the car started fine.

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 chrysler 300. the contact stated that the vehicle intermittently stalled without warning. the contact coasted the vehicle to the side of the road, depressed the brake pedal, and restarted the vehicle. in addition, warsaw chrysler dodge jeep ram (2777 n detroit st, warsaw, in 46582, (574) 306-0489) replaced the fuel tank, but the failure continued. the vehicle was taken back to the dealer due to a potential electronic communication failure. the contact did not authorize the dealer to diagnose the vehicle. the vehicle was not repaired. the vin was not available. the manufacturer was contacted. the approximate failure mileage was 114,397.

My vehicle suddenly shuts down after a short period of driving it has stopped several times in the middle of traffic and needless to say i was berated and once even threatened as several other vehicles could not pass this could cause an accident or someones life

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 chrysler 300. while driving at a low speed, the contact noticed smoke under the hood on the driver's side of the vehicle. the contact also mentioned that the temperature gauge increased as the vehicle started to overheat. the contact pulled the vehicle over to the side of the road and, upon opening the hood, noticed fluid leaking from the engine compartment. also, when it rained, water entered the vehicle through the roof. on several occasions, while driving 45 mph, all the doors shook as if they would open. the dealer (economic auto sales, 2715 martin luther king jr pkwy, des moines, ia 50314, 515-279-0325) informed the contact that they could not assist because the vehicle was purchased 'as is'. the vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic for diagnostic testing or repairs. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 71,000.

While driving down the interstate, all of a sudden out of nowhere, i noticed that my coolant indicator lever had not moved. a few miles later, it started running rough so i pulled over immediately and then it started smoking so bad i thought it would catch fire! i didn't even want to open the hood because i was so afraid! thankfully for a fdot officer who did open it and stayed with me in pouring rain until a tow truck came! at the dealership, they told me that the timing belt broke not giving me any warning whatsoever and resulted in my engine failure. they stated i needed to replace the entire engine at a cost of over $7000!!! i could have been killed how this all happened! no warning! no way to have known there was an issue or that the car was overheating! chrysler should be ashamed!

A week ago i was driving and my car stalled out and dash lights came on and the steering wheel locked up and all i could do was to let it come to a stop after trying to steer it failed. car would not start at all, it only made a slight noise when trying to turn the ignition switch, but went totally dead. had it towed home and checked out by a mechanic. was told that my spark plugs were burned out and the oil pump failed, thenhad spark plugs replaced, thats when it started and stopped for good. that's when i was told about the oil pump and he tried turning the front part of the motor it would not turn, he then told me i need a motor. i've taken good care of my car and have proof. i've seen many complaints about this happening to the chrysler 300's. i'm lucky that i didn't get hurt or in a bad wreck. is chrysler going to help their customers with this problem or wait till someone is seriously injured or killed. i'm just on social security and can't afford to have it repaired or replaced. i bought this car brand new, now i'm stranded and can't afford to buy a car. they need to help their customers. i was driving the car and was about to get onto the freeway. i also been having coolant leaking and car ran hot several times, couldn't find where the coolant leak was, had to check every other day and add more coolant. no coolant was on the ground under the car. became hard to start and had me stranded on the side of the road and freeway several times and had to wait for it to cool off before checking and adding more coolant, and waited awhile longer before starting it to drive home. chr chrysler need to buy this car back. it's been taken care of, looks new, has no dents and no rust, inside is clean, no damage, only little wear. i'm the only owner.

Power loss after re-feeling car turned off

I was on my way to work one morning and just out of the blue i hear this loud rattling noise coming from the engine. upon farther inspection the rattling noise was coming from the oil pan area under the car. did some research and found out that the rod bearings might have been defective coming from the factory.

When sitting in park and car running it surges up and down. when in drive and sitting at a red light, stop sign or anything that u have to stop for a longer period of time, meaning seconds, the car will hesitate and shut off or stall. it does it all the time, any time. you have to put the car in park, turn the key to the off position and restart if you don't do it that way it will start and shut off immediately. i just bought the car on 9/22/2017 and it has happened everyday since. i've learned that if i put the car in neutral while sitting for just a few seconds it will not shut off.

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 chrysler 300. after the vehicle was driven for a few hours and parked, it failed to restart. the vehicle was towed to orlando chrysler jeep dodge in orlando, fl where it was diagnosed that the valve seat dropped, which caused the vehicle to overheat. there were no warning indicators prior to the failure. the contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired. the contact stated that the failure occurred once before. the manufacturer was notified. the failure mileage was 149,000.

Came home from work parked my car. ten fifteen min later i tried to go to the store, car started & died would not restart. half an hour later i got it started, but it make a crunching noise & ran with a miss fire. i limped it to my mechanic, the car was blowing oil smoke out the tailpipes like i had overfilled it. my mechanic found that the valve seat on # 6 cylinder had dropped ruining both plug, cylinder head & piston. after he told me what had happened i started researching this, looks like any 5.7 hemi & other motors made before 2009 can be effected. i've tried talking to chrysler about this issue & when the hear my car was not @ a dealer i was stonewalled.

Tl* the contact owned a 2006 chrysler 300. while driving 70 mph, the vehicle failed to accelerate when the accelerator pedal was depressed. the contact pulled the vehicle over and a loud abnormal noise came from the fuel tank area. the vehicle caught fire underneath the hood and undercarriage. there were no warning indicators illuminated. the fire department extinguished the fire. a police report was filed. the vehicle was totaled and towed to a junkyard. the manufacturer inspected the vehicle and cut a piece of wire from the fuse box; however, they were not able to assist. the dealer was not contacted. the failure mileage was 180,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 chrysler 300. while driving 6 mph and slowing down, the vehicle stalled without warning. the vehicle was towed to the contact's house. several independent mechanics inspected the vehicle and diagnosed that the engine had completely failed and needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. a dealer was not contacted. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 81,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 chrysler 300. the contact stated that the vehicle stalled, but did not completely lose power. the check engine, battery, and electronic throttle control warning indicators illuminated. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where the failure could not be replicated. the warning indicators were reset. the failure recurred the next morning. the manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to nhtsa. the failure mileage was approximately 75,000.

Mileage 44398, first start of the day (cold start) idles all over the place and stalls at times when in reverse, coming to stops. if i place in neutral or slightly press gas pedal it will stay running. when driving if i need to hit the gas pedal to pass or speed up the car just does not react and will not accelerate, like it wants to shut off until i let off the pedal. no lights on, no codes. at times when it has stalled it restarts and surges up and down. sometimes the car drives perfect, then out of nowhere the problem is back. now one thing i have noticed is when i fill the tank above half way it seems to be fine, but once it gets to half way mark and below is when i notice this problem and it stays until about the empty mark not sure why that is, either the tank, pump, filter not really sure but definitely can be a dangerous condition if not addressed. if ever one day i was to need the power to be there for some reason the car just falls on its face when the pedal is applied.

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 chrysler 300. the contact stated that the throttle body control warning indicator (red lightning bolt icon) illuminated. the vehicle went into limp mode several times and there was a drastic reduction in power and speed. also, the vehicle stalled numerous times without warning. brooks chrysler dodge jeep ram (3200 college ave, jackson, al 36545, (251) 246-7224) was notified, but the contact was unable to safely drive the vehicle to the dealer for diagnostic testing and repair. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was not available.

Engine stalls while driving with out any warning .outvof no where engine cuts off on low speed and high speed on the fwy its pretty dangers mechanics cant figure it out. whats the problem. i dont feel safe driving my car anymore. first time that the car stalled was 2 months aho while i was driving on the fwy. then it happened again. when i was crossing the intersection at a low speed so car stopped in the middle of intersection!

Vehicle just stopped running, engine quit for no reason at all. in traffic, lost power steering and brakes when motor quit. pulled over to side and engine started fine then quit again. after third or fourth time it started and ran fine the rest of the way home.

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 chrysler 300. while driving various speeds, an unspecified part became loose underneath the vehicle. upon applying the brakes, the vehicle shook and the front driver and passenger side wheels seemed unstable. in addition, the check engine indicator remained illuminated. james ceranti motors inc (3064 us-82, greenville, mississippi 38703, (662) 332-7231) replaced the struts and the ball joints in an attempt to stabilize the vehicle, but the failure recurred. an independent mechanic was made aware of the failures and stated that the shaking of the vehicle was a result of faulty inner and outer tie rods. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. the failure mileage was approximately 119,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 chrysler 300. while driving 2 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. after filling up the fuel tank, the vehicle stalled on numerous occasions. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the issue. the failure mileage was 230,000.

The engine just stall out with no warning while driving, it mostly do it after filling the gas tank to the half full mark, once it get close to the red mark , the engine run normal. and when its at a complete stop the engine also stall out.

Engine stalls after fuel fill up.

Tl* takata recall. the contact owns a 2006 chrysler 300. the contact stated that the service engine warning indicator illuminated randomly several times without warning. the dealer was notified, but was not diagnosed. an independent mechanic diagnosed that a coil spring failed near the top of the motor. in addition, the dealer repaired the vehicle per a recall for nhtsa campaign number: 15v313000 (air bags). for nhtsa campaign number: 16v352000 (air bags), the parts had not been supplied from the manufacturer. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was not available. vin tool confirms parts not available.

2006 chrysler 300c srt8 6.1l stalls. once normal idle temperature reaches 200 degrees, the car starts to rev up and down and eventually turns off. no codes. replaced both camshaft and crankshaft sensor. this is annoying and dangerous because sometimes the car accelerates while on gear!! or completely dies while driving. i had a minor (small bump) accident at a gas station. idle started to fluctuate and at one point, the car jumped a bit, i hit the brakes but i came into minor contact with the car in from of us. helps us to get this resolved.

The car will randomly shut off for no reason, sometimes while its parked idling and other times at highway speed. i've had two different dealers try and fix without success. i've spent over a $1000 dollars in "repairs" and still have the same problem.

The engine shuts off while i'm driving and in reverse. i can restart it with no problem as long as i immediately step on the gas peddle. i have to shift into neutral to keep the engine running while at a stop light & back to drive. when i turn the key i do not hear the fuel pump like i used too! i've had repairs costing$509.96 and still have the same problem! i think my fuel pump is not working correctly or about to stop working! is there a recall for the fuel pump?

The throttle light comes on the ln at an intersection the car dies.start back up then idles very hard.gotten it checked out&there was oil on top the intake gaskets..i've done regularly mantience on the car so the shouldn't be able.now the car is just sitting in the drive way until i can afford a motor...ive looked on google&there are millions of people with the exact same problem so obviously its not the customer...ive called chrysler to see if the would reimburse me my money if i gotten a new one put in&basically they said no to a problem that is there fought

After work i was driving home as usuall down a very busy main road with alot of traffic and light controlled intersections. i was about 25 min away from home when i was beginnign to make a lane change and excellerate over to the right lane. as i began to get over without a warning or notice my power steering went out and i was unable to turn my wheel without excessive force. as i continued to cost into the other lane and grab ahold of the steering i realized not only did this shut off but the engine did as well. i guided the car to the safest place i could (still in the middle of the intersection and put the car in park. hundreds of cars drove by honking and swearing at me leaving me stuck in my vehicle as it was to unsafe to get out. after about 15 min of that streess a helpful older man helped push me to a safer part of the street until my boyfriend could get to me and have the car towed home. after a week and a half and close to 500 later i was called with the news that a cylindar collapsed causing my engine to fail. it would be a 7,000-9,000 repair at the least. the problem with this is that i still owe 13000 on this vehicle and it barely blue books at 10000. so why would i pay the money when i have never had an issue with this vehicle in the 3 years of owning it and had no warning or way to prevent it. i always took my car to a dealer to be maintenced and never missed an oil change so how could this be happening to me. now i am stuck with a car in front of my house that doesnt work and had to purchase another vehicle in the mean time while i am dealing with trying to make chrylser responsible for this horrible situation. i have done massive research on this issue and learned that this year is already known for this issue and found over 200 compaints with people just like me who this happened to. please help me to get this repair covered or my car purchased back.

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 chrysler 300. while driving and turning left or right at unknown speeds, the engine seized. the vehicle's gear was placed in the park position, but would not restart. the vehicle was taken to a dealer, but the failure could not be duplicated. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified. the approximate failure mileage was 132,000.

I drive a 2006 300c hemi w/60k miles.i bought this car from a friend. this car has been in this city since 2006. mid day temps 105'. i was running errands in town. i had stopped at 7 different locations, turned the vehicle off and a few minutes later returned to the car and continued with my errands. i was in the car sitting at a 4 lane intersection waiting for my turn and i looked down at the dash and the oil can light came on, then traffic started to move and i couldn't, my car had stalled. i turned off the a/c unit, the radio and put it in park. i tried 6 or so times to get the car to start but it wouldn't .i engaged my flashers while other drivers were honking and driving around me.i left it in traffic and got to the sidewalk out of danger. i was calling for help when a motorist pulled up behind my car and asked whats wrong. i told him it just died, sitting still waiting for our turn to go thru the intersection. he got in the car that had been sitting there for about 5 minutes and it started right up and he drove it to a safe parking lot. i parked the car in my garage and there it sits. i am afraid to get stranded in traffic again. i did some research on the web and found that chrysler announced on feb 13, 2014 chrysler extends lifetime warranty on 2006, 5.7 and 6.1 hemi fuel tanks. apparently, no one has died yet so it does not quality for a recall but this is a known problem. i would like to know how i can qualify for this warranty?

I first noticed surging at idle when in gear, this grew into stalling during stops and now is stalling/stumbling while driving. i've had multiple times where the car would completely stall while moving and had high potential for danger. i have no engine light and no engine codes. this car is an srt8 and driven very seldom, especially now. it's actually parked now due to this issue. the maintenance has always been meticulous and mechanics have come up dry with trying to figure this out.

Car was in the shop at the event time. i got called because my chrysler 300 2006 would not move from park position. will cost $435.95 to replace the gear assembly. this happened while in their care. called chrysler headquarters and will not make it good on their end. even as many 300's of 2006 have had this problem my vin along with theirs is not listed yet they are all over the internet. 48000 miles about one owner me.
