After filling up with fuel the vehicle stalls about 3 or 4 times. i looked this issue up and there was a recall, but it was vin specific. i refueled on 7 january 2015, and was turning onto a busy highway, the car stalled while i was turning, i placed it in neutral and restarted it. about 1/2 mile down the road it again stalled, i lost power steering, and once again had to put it in neutral. the automobile stalled one more time and then resumed normal operation. i am afraid that this will happen when i am accessing an interstate where the consequences will be much worse. *tr
Always after fueling car will stall. at idle, or starting to drive off, or at stop sign or light or going down street or freeway. not always easy to get restarted either. after 1,2,miles or so wont do it anymore, until next fill time. *tr
2006 chrysler 300. consumer writes in regards to vehicle stalled in oncoming traffic and gas line factory malfunction. *smd
After i filled up my gas tank and left the gas station, when i came to a complete stop my car shut off. when i restarted it, my rpms raised tremendously and my gears started shifting automatically and when i came to another stop my car shut off again. i only been having the car 3 weeks and i noticed that it always happens after a fill-up for a few hours here and there. once my gas needle moves a little bit below full, the car runs perfectly fine! *js
Car engine stalls after refueling. this has been happening for a year. i just found the nhtsa study on the problem. *tr
After filling car with fuel car starts bucking and stalls. restarts and bucks and stalls a few more times then runs fine until next time we fill up. we cannot fill the fuel tank up or take a serious chance of having car stall in traffic. i have asked chrysler if there was a recall or fix for this and was told by service manger that he was not aware. they suggested that i need fuel tank unit $1,158.00. i have read that many people are having same problems and only fix is to pay for a new gas tank as this is only fix. chrysler should fix this for no charge as it is part of the emission system. i'm terrified to have my son in the car that we'll be hurt or killed by this flaw in the fuel tank. i hope we can get some help to get this repaired. thanks. *tr
After i fill my tank the vehicle will stall over and over. this has happened many times. *tr
The car was filled up with fuel and no more than 2-5 miles from the gas station while driving the engine cut off with no warning while in traffic. was able to restart the engine and continue on and within a mile it stalled out again in traffic. this time the car would not start. the car was pushed to the side of the road. the oil pressure light was also coming on so did not want to push the car and cause further damage. after 45 mins i restarted the car fine and was able to drive 1 mile before it stalled out at a stop sign. again no warning and the car lost all power and you were unable to stop the car easily or turn the wheel since all power was lost. the oil pressure light did come on again but did not occur until after the car engine cut off and all power was lost. this time i checked the oil and the level was fine but i still added an extra quart of oil. then within 5 mins i was able to start the car and drive it the rest of the way ...
Filled up tank at local gas station.. after starting, the engine stalled out at the gas station. restarted the engine and headed home, which is one block from the station. pulled into driveway and the engine stalled again. momentum carried me under the carport. restarted engine 5 more times. each time it stalled out. had to find alternate transportation for out of town trip. cannot safely drive this vehicle with this continued issue. 300c. *tr
Car stalls after refueling. *tr
Filled gas tank at station. drove .25 mile and vehicle stalled while accelerating from a stop light. stalled 3 more times within the next mile. i parked car and shut it off. restarted 30 minutes later and drove about 1.5 miles and it stalled again while pulling into a parking lot. no problems until i filled up at a different gas station 5 days later. it stalled again after pulling out of the station. it always starts right up. *tr
I bought the 2006 chrysler 300c new in 2007 and it worked fine until mid 2013. one day after getting off the freeway i pulled into a gas station and filled the car with gas. in about 1-2 minutes after leaving the station the car bucked then stalled. it took several attempts to get it started. this situation has happened over and over again. it came to a head this week when i went to the gas station filled the tank and soon after leaving it stalled in traffic -i restarted it after almost causing an accident got going and it stalled again. i restarted with great difficulty and entered the on ramp----as i was building speed it stalled for the third time in less than 5 minutes and this time i was so close to an accident. now i have been to two dealerships and replaced numerous parts including the canister, some oil temp/pressure sensor, cleaned injectors, replaced plugs, a coil and too many to mention. the people at the dealership look at me like i am smoking crack ever time i complain. it wasn't until yesterday that i looked on the internet to find there are ...
Multiple times the car has stalled, bucked and/or cut off on me after refueling. the symptoms were intermittent now they occur more frequent. this problems has caused the car to be unsafe to drive as the car can stall or cut power (acceleration) at random. *tr
Filled up gas tank and as i was pulling out off gas station car shut off. i turned the car off and on again and it started, drove apx fifty feet and car shut off again, luckily i had already pulled over to the side of the road. towed the car to the shop, was told the gas needed to burn off a little. worked but had three more incident since then. apparent the fuel tank when filled up expand and fuel get into the engine. can't afford to fix the problem, been lay off going on three years now. *tr
I was driving back home from atlanta and i stopped to fill up in macon. as i drove up the entrance ramp to i-75 the car stalled leaving me partially on the hi-way. a semi narrowly avoided rear ending me. after a few seconds the car started and i drove away. this is the 3rd time this has happened. a mechanic told me this is common on this type of car and the only fix is a new gas tank, which is very expensive. *tr
