Recently reported ENGINE problems on 2015 Chrysler 200

Stop at a 3 way stop started to pull out and throttle went completely dead, no response and in front of on coming vehicles , finally came back and was able to clear just in time. next morning, same issue but this time when it came back it would not run but lurch and spit and sputter. both stop engine and check engine cams on. towed to dealer and could not find anything wrong, but i insisted it was a safety related issue. the dealer keep it for another day and heard nothing, then i received a call the third day that it had been test drove and did not make it out of the dealers lot. so i am concern on the safety of the brand new vehicle with hardly any miles and issues right out the gate. i am seeing other related issues of the same nature on the net all huge safety related with throttle response. i am hopeful that it does not turn into someone losing the life over something known. *tr

When i put my car in drive it bucks, hesitate and pulls off terribly rough, i have took car back to dealer 3 times and they can't seem to find anything wrong, i went to chicago which is about 3 hrs from my home. i parked went shopping for about 2hrs. came back hit locks nothing happened, walked closer to car hit locks nothing happened, tried trunk nothing for about 20 min i'm locked out of my car, the car seemed to have lost power.after standing there trying to locks finally it powered on the car had a bad ride at take off i heard noises under hood i continue to drive after the second stop i came back to car no problem it opened,i'm not happy with this car from day one it has been something this is the worst car i have ever had,on;y had the car for 7months, it was thrown together not manufactured for perfection. this car has a problem with stalling and not wanting to pull off it just sits there then it jumps in gear the take off is very slow. i really need my car i hope there is something that can be done about this, i had a blow out on my front driver side tire hit a small hole on highway the tire instantly burst i was about 300miles from home the tires seem to have been dry rotten. the power lost just happened on 09/19/2015. the other happened stating 03/15.

Driving down highway car just shuts off and are stuck in middle of road, car wont restart and have to wait 15min then it will restart. you can not push car off road. have contacted chrysler after 4 times to dealer ship for same problem and have been told can't duplicate or don't know what is wrong with it. chrysler has opened up 2 cases and still no resolution. they declined to buyout the vehicle or replacement. i get same story, bring it in for service and we are sorry. no you will be sorry when my wife and kids are injured in this defective car. there has been numerous time of broken down on road and having dump truck or 18 wheelers dodging my car to avoid accidents. they have replaced computer, transmission parts and sensors. i truly believe it will never be fixed. need to get the word out and chrysler needs to be held responsible. i urge everyone to avoid these cars, unsafe and accident waiting to happen and dealership and chrysler does not care!!!

Driving down the highway, the vehicle engine light came on and said engine too hot. the vehicle temp went back down at the stop light. taking car in for repairs this week, everytime vehicle goes more than 50 the light comes on. have to drive slowly. this is a car that is fairly new....6 months. *tr

An unexpected surge from the engine and drivetrain occurs occasionally with no accelerator pedal application - most often while slowing down around corners. the first time this happened was within a day of buying the car. it startled me and have since approach corners much more cautiously. the unexpected surge has happened approximately six times since late-january to varying degrees of power. i finally have time to take it in tomorrow, 8 april 2015. *tr

This car been major problems with transmission jerking.car has shut off while driving several times.visbilty is 0 at times due to climate controls not being fixed properly, has been in shop for 36 days for climate control, matter still existed and said to be fix , but still major issues.rattling in door on passenger side.car has stop rinning at all, said to be due to low oil, but not the case, has done it again and oil was done 1,000 miles prior to be done.chrysler can not duplicate the jerking tho they claim. has failed to answer lawyers back or 2 letters sent due to it being a lemon and no repsonse from manufacturer

Vehicle engine cylinder walls suffered from excessive scoring during the time it was manufactured. the car constantly stalls, shakes, and jerks when driving and during idle periods. this vehicle is very unsafe to drive, due to the fact that control over the vehicle is limited because of theconstant shaking and rumbling of the steering wheel while driving. while i was driving the chrysler car on the highway, the vehicle almost shut off completely, subsequently putting me and my newborn baby at risk of a fatal accident. the vehicle has also been diagnosed with many other issues with the power train components of the engine. one morning in my garage, the 200 would not crank when pressing the push button ignition and after this, the manual transmission would not shift the vehicle into neutral in order for the car to be towed. this vehicle was purchased brand new in 2015, and chrysler has failed to fix or acknowledge these issues.

While driving on i95 at 60 mph in the center lane, the car completely lost power. near the 216 on ramp to i95n. only because i was an experienced driver was i able to recognize what was happening and safely get over and off on to the soft shoulder of the road and avoid a fatal accident. car still said "run" and i had to get out on shoulder and walk far away from car to disengage the key fob and then return to the car and turn it off. after turning off and leaving off for 5+ min, attempted to restart. tow truck had to be called. after 4 days at dealer, they are still unable to identify the problem. all we have been told is they are unable to get the 4 coils to fire at the same time. this is serious and dangerous problem! *tr

I purchased this vehicle from the dealer four months ago. in that time i have had some unpleasant experiences. at first it was little things, such as not being able to start the car, or the keyfob didn't work correctly. although those were nagging they were easily dealt with. last week i was driving down the street doing about 40mph, and the cars display started throwing error messages, such as service transmission. the car felt like it had stalled and i had no power to the gas, brake or steering wheel. luckily i was not on the highway when this happened or the likelihood of me getting in an accident would be very high, being that this was in the evening. so, i am stuck in the middle of the road with a car that still has accessory power, but i was not able to shift the car into park, or drive. i was able to shut the car off and restart it fine, but again couldn't shift. after about 20 minutes the car shifted into gear, and i was able to drive it, albeit very slowly since the engine would not rev past 2000 rpms. i checked for any service bulletins and see this has been an issue for several people. there was not a fix associated with this. i brought the car in to your service department, and they were not able to recreate the issue. so, now i am stuck with a brand new car with roughly 2200 miles that i'm afraid to drive. if/when this happens again i hope i'm not on the highway or any road actually as the chance of an accident is very high. i don't feel safe. i have never had something like this happen to me, so i honestly don't know how to proceed. *tr

While driving to work on the highway at approximately 45 mph, the vehicle suddenly stopped accelerating. the engine did not die, but i was unable to accelerate or maintain speed, the vehicle just suddenly started slowing down. while this was occurring, the "d" on the dash was flashing, as were the lights on the gear shift knob. i originally attempted to shift the vehicle into neutral, but it had no impact on the vehicle at all. i moved toward the side of the road and brought the vehicle to a stop, shut it down and restarted. it started back up without a problem. i scheduled the vehicle to go into the dealer on the first available date. the dealer claimed it was a "software update" issue. it has happened twice since, but i have so far not been able to return to the dealer due to work constraints. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 chrysler 200. the contact stated that while reversing at approximately 5 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. after several attempts, the vehicle was able to restart and the engine is warming please wait to start warning light illuminated. the failure recurred on several occasions. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that there was a misfire with the engine coil. the vehicle was repaired however, the failure persisted. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 3,000.

I'm driving a friend to the store and the car just stalls out like its out of gas on the attempted restart it had sound exactly like it is out of gas,i then call roadside assistance for a tow and they send a service that was not equip to tow this car since it has stopped,we could not get it in neutral to load it on the flat bed.the driver then suggest that i call a service with dollies to put under each wheel since the car is an all wheel drive model, after another tow truck was car with the right equipment, it is then towed to the nearest chrysler dealer not to where i had purchased the vehicle, chryslers roadside would only tow it 14 miles, my dealership was 6 miles over the limit, after 2days i was told nothing was wrong with the car and that i could come get it,well on the way home it stalled again in the same manner this time i after a little wait it started, and a block from my home it stalled again!!,i then called my dealership they were very good,a lot better than chrysler's roadside assistance and a lot better than the other dealership in terms of realizing. that there was a serious problem at first they thought it was the ecu but that was last week it apparently was not and now it is going on 2weeks since i've been without my car, they did supply me with a loan car but they are still scratching their heads as to why my car keeps stalling i think i may have a lemon.... *tr

As i pulled out onto the highway, my car began to stall, it would not pull forward. it made a noise like the transmission is going out. so, i came to a complete stop and started on my route again. this has happened several times. the last time was 2/21/2015 at just over 5100 miles. my car would not change gears, so i had to come to a complete stop and turn the car off and restart the car in order for the gears to change. i have also noticed that the floor board on the drive side passenger floor is wet. i have no idea where the water is coming from.

Tl*the contact owns a 2015 chrysler 200 c. the contact stated that while driving at approximately 30 mph, the vehicle stalled. the vehicle was able to restart after several attempts. the vehicle was towed to a dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 3,500.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 chrysler 200. while driving 70 mph, the vehicle lost power completely. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the issue. the failure mileage was 8,900.

This incident has happened on two separate occasions. while driving on the highway at speeds around 60 to 70 mph, my car will suddenly stall, and i am unable to accelerate. my electronic dash display would begin blinking, and i have no power to the pedal at all. on both occasions, i was in fact able to pull of to the side of the road to avoid any kind of car accident, however the second incident nearly caused a crash because the traffic volumes at the time were quite heavy. i was nearly rear ended due to my sudden deceleration. after the second incident, i decided to take the car in for service. as of today (3 days in the shop) i have not heard a reason as to why this is occurring. i have had the car for roughly 4 months, and this stalling has happened twice. i am worried that it will eventually lead to an accident on the road. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 chrysler 200. while driving approximately 65 to 70 mph when the vehicle was slowed down to approximately 50 mph, the vehicle decelerated independently without warning. the failure recurred numerous. the vehicle was taken to the dealer. the contact stated that the dealer was aware of the issue, but the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 3,000.

I have been trying to get my car fixed for a year. the dealer mac haik in georgetown tx has said that they cannot replicate the problem. my car hesitates when i step on the gas and when it is put into gear it lunges. this is particularly annoying when the car first starts. i have told them over and over and they just say that their transmission man is out on leave. this is a beautiful car that i absolutely hate because of how it drives. i contacted chrysler and they said it has to go through the dealer. i am frustrated and very aggravated. if this is the american import of the year, we are in dire straits. this is an unsafe car! this was not the car that i demoed and when i said something to the salesperson, he and the service person said that the car had to adjust to the way i drive.

I purchased my car in sept. 2014. the car that i test drove was nothing like the car i got. when i mentioned the difference to the sales person, he stated that they were the same and that the car had to adjust to the way i drove. i took the car back to the dealer because they forgot to do service work on the car previously and the service manager stated that the car would feel better after 250 miles. i informed him that the car had 500 miles and he stated that it should "feel smoother soon." i took the car back up to mack haik dodge in georgetown tx, where i purchased it and a manager told me that he would like to make things right and i should look for something that i liked and they would help me. the sales person that was going to "help" me was someone that i met at another dealership who told me that his wife had the same car and that half of them came out with problems and the other half was fine. he stated that i probably got one with problems. he stated that they were either great of had issues. i am now going to a different dealership to try and have the recall fixed. the recall is for the problem that i have been telling them for a year. at one point they told me that they could not fix anything because their transmission guy was out on sick leave. my car has been dangerous since i bought it. it hesitates when stepping on the accelerator on the highway. when the car starts out, it lunges forward and feels like a bucking horse. i was embarrassed to put people in my car. i worked with a government agency that transported children and felt terrified to place a child in my car. mack haik has been absolutely horrible. their solution for my problem was to purchase another car with a $200.00 dollar more payment. i've been so frustrated that i considered a lemon law attorney. i contacted chrysler and they said the dealer had to correct the problem. can you help?

2015 chrysler 200 rented from enterprise rac in dallas, tx. 2.4l four-cylinder/9-speed automatic transmission. vehicle traveling at steady 55-60 mph on a controlled-access toll road. i began accelerating to approx. 65 mph to pass a vehicle ahead, triggering a downshift. i then determined traffic conditions were not favorable to pass, so i reduced pressure on the accelerator pedal to slow down; however, the vehicle continued to accelerate in passing gear for several seconds after i removed my foot from the accelerator pedal before slowing. i was able to duplicate this situation several times at speeds between 55-75 mph, and each time it took the car between 4-7 seconds after removing my foot from the accelerator for the vehicle to stop accelerating and begin to slow.

I purchased my car brand new in june 2014. in mid august 2014 on interstate 110. after coming to a complete stop my car shut off, as if it had stalled. i attempted to restart it and it jerked wildly and would not start. after a few more attempts it eventually started only to shut off again on interstate 105w. i was traveling approximately 70mph in lane 1 when the vehicle lost power and the panel instructed me to shift into park. the driver panel displayed ?service transmission? and the check engine light was on. the service technician indicated that the computer needed to be ?relearned? and provided documentation of several corrupted codes that were fixed. two days later i experienced the same exact problem. they determined that i had an issue with my transmission valve body. after i got my car back i noticed that the transition between gears is very rough. furthermore the gear shifting seems delayed, as the gears are often very inconsistent with the driving speed. finally i notice that as i brake or lower my speed the gears do not adjusting accordingly. i have noticed that this is mostly a problem when i brake to a speed lower than about 25mph. in these instances, unless i come to a complete stop, the vehicle will not drop below 3rd gear. i reported this problem and received a entirely new transmission. now, about 6,000 miles later i am experiencing the same shifting issues. *tr

Coming down expressway at about 65 mph. suddenly warning indicated potential transmission failure and car was losing power. pulled off highway and shut engine down. restarted and warning was cleared except for check engine light. took car to dealer and wiring harness was replaced and computer reset. on april 7th, 2015 in heavy traffic car lost engine power and began to stall i was able to get car (barely into turnaround lane before engine stalled out. mileage on car was around 9500 miles. warning again related to transmission failure and all transmission indicator lights were illuminated. car locked up and could not be moved as wheels would not turn. car towed to jim riehls in warren, mi. dangerous situation as auto completely locked up in heavy traffic. police demanded immediate movement and called a tow truck and stood by until truck arrived. *tr

I have a 2015 chrysler 200s, my car has stalled on 3 occasions while driving, each at different speeds. on two of the incidents, the car shut off, i was able to coast safely to the side of the road and place the car back into park. once in park i was able to restart the engine and proceed with driving. on july 8, 2014 the car stalled and totally shut down. the car was locked and would not do anything. i attempted to place the car in park however the control knob (center console on these cars) to do so was locked and would not move. the engine was shut down however all electrical systems were still active within the car. several service messages cycled through the display on the vehicle; therefore i contacted chrysler roadside assistance. roadside assistance arrived and my car was towed to the nearest chrysler dealer (not the dealer i bought it from). once at the dealer i was informed that my car would not be able to be looked at because they were too busy. therefore my car remained on the lot, all electrical systems were still running throughout the entire night (approximately 12-15 hours) before it was looked at. in that time the battery had died, once it was jumped it started and it was able to be pulled into a service bay. after 2 days in the service dept i was informed they could not recreate the issue that caused the car to totally shut down and lock up while driving. they "road tested" the car 102 miles as instructed by chrysler however no codes were active in regards to the incident on july 8, 2014. they have now returned my car to me without this major safety issue being addressed. the final verdict from the dealer was, we cannot recreate the stalling and shutdown therefore we will be returning the car to you. the car was bought brand new and i have had it 3 weeks. *tr
