The light to get airbag serviced keeps coming on and going off. it has started stalling randomly while driving or coming to a stop. noticed that it didn't do it as bad once car was warmed up, but then it dropped power while we were in traffic on a bridge overpass and we had to limp it home. looked up the warning light meanings and it said we should not drive it as it will either lose power without warning and have to be limped or it will accelerate and we would have no way to stop it. so i have a car that cannot be driven and i had seen that there were recalls for similar problems however, when i put my vin number in, it said there were no unrepaired recalls for this vin number.*dt consumer's husband and son-in-law repaired the vehicle.*jb
I am continuing to have a several transmission problems with the car since i bought it i was not aware of the issues that these vehicles had with transmission i have been to the chrysler dealership more than once . not only do they provide the word customer service that i have ever had but they told me that the car just needs to be updated like an iphone which is not something i've ever heard of . today it would not shift into the correct gear and almost had me hit somebody in rear-end them it is very unsafe and has happened more than once. i need help.
The car runs really rough, loud noise, loss of power and vehicle shuts down. idles rough and jumps when placed in gear or accelerating. the vehicle stops and i unable move car even if the gear shift is placed in neutral. the vehicle stop when in motion.
Warning light air bag has been on won't turn off, vehicle was stationary. vehicle loses power driving, vehicle stalls out when backing in reverse.
These past few days my car has been stalling out with no warning. all of these times i have been driving in traffic. the car stalls and message will appear to something upon put your foot on the brake and put in park. once you do that the car will try to restart itself. my car eventually restarts but has still yet restarted on the first try. there is no check engine light on or any other warning codes( no warning codes before nor after the stalling). this is a big safety issue chrysler needs to look into and address.
When driving it shuts off, a very serious and dangerous problem
While driving with cruise control engaged going down a steep hill the vehicle accelerated and would not down shift. i had to stomp the break to get the vehicle to slow down. cruise control would not disengage from steering column. cruise control was set at 60 mph and speed increased to 75 mph.
Vehicle speed control. i've reported this before and chrysler insists our vehicle does not have this problem nor it is included in the recall. problem always occurs while speed control is on and going downhill. the rpm's will increase significantly in an apparent attempt to slow down the vehicle by shifting down to way too low of a gear. often rpm's will race near 5000+ and the scariest part is when you apply the brakes the speed control does not release. i have been the one driving when this has happened on half a dozen or more times. recently my wife was driving alone and experienced this problem and didn't know what to do when she quickly approached a slow moving vehicle and the speed control would not release. she has bladder issues and pee'd her pants, literally. luckily she has been in the vehicle before when this has happened and she thought quickly to move the vehicle into neutral and applied the brake which released the cruise control and allowed her to get her composure back. it was a close and scary call for her. again, we have reported this several times and there is a recall for this exact problem and chrylser says our car does not have the problem and is not included in the recall, which is a simple software upgrade which they have and doesn't cost them much for the dealership to apply. the last time this happened was just a few weeks ago saturday late afternoon may 18, 2019.
While driving the instrument cluster went out. speedometer and all electronics and displays went out. i had to pull over on the highway and turn off the car and back on and the display went back on. the check engine light came on and when i took it to the dealer they said the codes that came up are inconclusive. this is the 4th time this has happened and it seems to only happen during warm or hot weather. this is very concerning while driving. searching various forms, it seems this is an issue other chrysler drivers have experienced.
Looks like when i speed up gears feels to heavy like gears not changing when is supposed to, feel like doesn't release last gear
Since i have had my car the service airbag system has came on several times i got it fixed once before, i have had to replace the throttle control body, and thermostat, also it's saying d1-d9 when i drive. it's so many problems and i've only had the car two years
The car engine keeps on stalling while it is in motion. the car suddenly stops while i am driving it. there are no warning lights, visual cues or sounds to indicate any problem. as a result, the car's power steering becomes inoperable. the speed of the car varies at the time of each incident. each time this incident has happened, the car has become disabled in the middle of the street. there have been 5 incidents this past month. so far, the car has been able to restart after putting the car in park and after a couple of attempts of pushing the start button along with stepping on the brakes. it usually takes a couple of minutes. during that time, my car is in the middle of the street and in traffic. i have had my children in the car during some of these incidents. it is an extreme safety risk.
While driving with cruise control engaged going down a steeper grade on i-81 the vehicle accelerates and will not down shift. i have to stomp the brake or cancel cruise control to get the vehicle to slow down. cruise control would not disengage from steering column. cruise control was set at 65 mph and speed increased to ~75 mph. this happens at this same point on the highway every time i go thru there. scary!!!!
Takata recall i have had my chrysler 2015 200 for 3 years and since i've had my car it has always had an issue with accelerating on its on. it accelerates when you tap the breaks and it will accelerate on its on taking it off cruise control as well. so last week my car was being driven on the highway and the car was put on cruise control going about 60-65 mph then once the brake was tapped to slow down the car began to lock up and accelerate up to 90 mph. then after the car picked up speed the whole car locked up steering wheel would not turn or anything and the car ended up hitting a wall. the state of what cause the issue is unknown, however i think this issue should be taken further for an investigation.

Vehicle is trying to stall out while driving and in sitting position.always happens right after i re-fuel. it starts jerking, sometimes it is a slight jerk but today it jerked very hard that it really scared me. also when starting the vehicle it struggles to start up. it will continue to not drive right for a little bit of time and then it goes back to driving fine until i re-fuel again. it started about a month ago and has never stopped since then. i have looked up recalls for this issue and it shows i don't have one. this really needs to be checked out and become a recall
Vehicle abruptly stalls and will not shift while driving. the speed of the vehicle will increase while on cruise control.
My car is sometimes trying to stall out on the highway and rural roads, it looses a good bit of its power. it also makes jerking movements when my foot is steady holding the gas at an even level. kinda like it would if you were tapping the gas and letting off the gas very quickly.

Takata recall, my chrysler 200 2015 is having issues where it seems like it's stuck in neutral and doesn't want to accelerate. my car started rumbling pretty intensely i don't even have 80,000 miles on my car and it says my vin number doesn't match any recalls but everything i've looked up it sounds the same recall the other chrysler 200 2015 cars had as well. how do i go about getting this fixed?? i was on the freeway and it happened randomly when i went to switch lanes.
I replaced the transmission axle harness back iin 2016 when i got the car. but not all of a sudden the abs sensor keeps going out and it comes on and off after replacing it. i replaced it the car was fine then boom its back on. the car speeds up when i just be going 10 miles an hour and i have to slam on my brakes to keep it from going out of control. i almost had two accidents with this issue. and the dealership keeps telling me that recall was fixed but i dont believe it was. my car keeps trying to speed up with me just even pulling off from a parking spot. its a chrysler 200 s 2015 . i think this car is horrible and i am stuck with this lemon

While driving on the interstate the check engine light came on with a message to service transmission. i merged off of the interstate and stopped at a red light and when the light turned green and i tried to accelerate the car wouldn't move and the rpms would just go up. eventually the car started moving slowly at high rpms with several cars behind me and i pulled over and had to get my car towed.
My car reves up the rpms when im accelerating and it feels as though the transmission is slipping.
Car would occasionally shift very rough between 2 of the gears, not exactly sure which ones. vehicle intermittently through itself into neutral while driving. the above incidents were intermittent until the following incident occurred. before leaving for the day, attempted to start vehicle. parking brake light began to flash and message displayed various service warnings. vehicle would not start or go into gear. removed battery cable to attempt a reset of whatever the underlying issue is. waited some time and reconnected battery cable, no effect. after trying for some time the vehicle started normally. after this incident the once intermittent issues began to occur frequently. very rough shifting, far beyond what should be considered normal. car began to throw itself into neutral when reversing or driving on public roads normally. loud unnatural, (sounds like its having a very hard time completing the normal mechanical motion) clunk can be heard much louder then what it should be. after this continued while trying to complete a normal workday commute the vehicle went into and stayed in 2nd or 3rd gear(based on speed threshold). began to research recalls, a major recall for these exact issues was issued and the dealer listed one of them as complete based on 'inspection' instead of replacing a major component with the issue, the transaxel assembly. all of the issues occurring coincide with this and one other recall. the other recall was listed as 'repaired'. either the recalls were not completed or the repairs and inspection are not sufficient.

I've had problems with the air conditioning it won't turn on after the heater is on the next day it won't turn on and when the car needs a oil change the engine light will turn on and then the car start acting funny it will just turn off in the st and it won't turn back on and i can't take it off parking to make the car and then when it does turn on the speed won't work it won't go over 15 mph but i can hear the engine and the meters go up.

After vehicle has been driven for a while, the check engine light, traction control, abs and airbag light comes on and the vehicle loses driving function momentarily and the gas pedal does not move the car for a few seconds. then i have to press the gas pedal down heavily to get the car to travel at a low speed. the transmission doesn't shift properly and this normally last for a while then stops. a code reader says 'high speed can communication bus' i took it to the dealership and they said that they could not simulate the issue so they couldn't do anything. it normally happens when it is very cold or below freezing outside. also when it is a hot day the vehicle unlocks it's own doors, starts itself, pops the trunk on it's own when i am nowhere around and the key fob is nowhere near which is dangerous and can cause my car or my belongings to be stolen.
I made a complaint about this exact issue last summer (2017) regarding my vehicle speeding up on its own and the cruise control getting stuck and being difficult to disengage. i wanted chrysler to buy the vehicle back because i was concerned for my safety but my claim was denied. now i have been told by this organization (nhtsa) that some 2015 chrysler 200 vehicles are being recalled for this exact issue that i previously complained about. i contacted chrysler and assuming i would be able to get it repaired. i was by two separate chrysler employees that my vin is not included in the recall. even though i previously complained about the exact same problem, they said i would have to go have my car checked and pay for any repairs on my own. i will be making another formal complaint and requesting again that chrysler buy back this car because its is beyond ridiculous that i would have to pay for repairs that they admit need to be done on some of the vehicles. if its a software issue, it seems to me that all of the cars would need the repair since they all have the same software. see also odi 10984831. *dsy updated 9/25/18*jb
A couple months after i purchased my chrysler 200 i began to have many problems with it such as electrical problems and speed control problems. the main ' in the chrysler wou a couple months after i purchased my chrysler 200 i began to have many problems with it such as electrical problems and speed control problems. the main dash in the chrysler will constantly flashing all of its lights and tell me that my parking brake needs serviced and that my transmission needs serviced. i have gone into the dealership where i purchased the car and have been told that nothing is wrong with the car it just needs a software update but that never solves any of my problems. the car tries to stall out every day in the middle of driving and while it's trying to stall out tends to jump and accelerate on its own. on june 6, 2018 my chrysler 200 was involved in a collision. this collision took place in akron ohio do to the car jumping, accelerating and eventually stalling out and locking up the car, so i was unable to break or steer. the car ended up rear ending another vehicle due to myself not being able to control the locked up car. i have been into the dealership that i bought the car from multiple times urging them to fix the problem. and every time i go in they say that there is not a problem it just needs a software update. i have never gotten proper maintenance that needs done on this ca i have been into the dealership that i bought the car from multiple times urging them to fix the problem. and every time i go in they see that there is not a problem it just needs a software update. none of the software update have fixed any problem that i have had with this car. and because of that my car was in an accident because of a problem with chrysler that i had no control over.

The car keeps stalling whenever i try to turn the car on. i've checked the battery the alternator and starter and they were all good. also the airbag light indicator keeps turning on and off and the check engine light spontaneously turns on and turns off . also when going down hill with foot on break the rpm accelerators, also one headlight keeps going out but turns back on

Takata recall when i drive my car (especially on the highway when accelerating) it seems to not want to shift into gear. it makes a weird sound like it's trying but it doesn't shift until i hit about 62 mph. one time i was driving and stopped at a red light and when i tried accelerating my gear went all the way into the red and i had to pull over shut my car off and completely restart it. also sometimes when i brake, it seems like it accelerates first and then slows down. i've tried having someone look at it but it just so happens it didn't do it when someone test drove it. it does it 9/10 times for me though. i received a letter about a recall but i can't find it which is the only reason i had looked into this situation more. it seemed like many cars of my make model and year were doing exactly what i had been trying to explain to the body shop however when i put my vin in to check, it said my car had zero open recalls. i still wanted to make a report just in case it had been missed.
Last year had the car in do to the transmission the shop reprogrammed the computer. last week while driving the car was going 55 and seemed like it quit moving then the motor rpms kept going up. finally we put the car in neutral and stopped it. restarted it and it sounded very rough at first then settled down. was able to drive home 5 minutes away. next day couldn't start the car. towed it to the dealer and they said the motor is shot. there was a recall on it for something that i never was informed about.
I have a file with a complete timeline with the incidents upon request. i am now beginning to really loose any faith in the chrysler product and the corporate office. still under power train warranty. but this last recall has thrown me over the edge of considering new company. i had an appointment with local dealership chrysler for the safety recall that is still open. they couldn't get me in for 3 weeks. i make appointment bc my car keeps loosing ot power and dies or almost dies/.my car lost all of its power while i was driving down the freeway at a constant moving pace with other cars. my car looses all power and i cant even steer the steering wheel and i work into the middle lane. where freight liner almost hits me in the [xxx] end and swerves to miss me and overcorrects and winds up almost going over the bridge with a concrete wall saving him from ending up on the lower freeway. once we got through the shock of what just happened. i try to get car to start. it wont even kick over and i cant get it ot if neutral. i call chrysler corporate bc if i could have gotten the recall fixed sooner this would have been prevented. they tow to chrysler and we wait 2 more weeks while they get to the car. meanwhile i am having to pay everyday for a rental car. which was over $500 and i am a single divorced parent of 2 children. 1 child recently passed from a rare disease at age 7 and my only son just started college in conway and i am so proud and want to support him in this move. at the end of 2 weeks i go to pick up the car and i am billed for 300 for a new battery and diagnostic test. i ask about the safety recall & why is was not done when that is the xavcrt reason we made the appointment? they overlooked that and needed to go do that. this whole experience cost me more than $1000. with time i had to leave work and all their calls to the chrysler . parts of this document have been redacted to protect personally identifiable ...
The car stalls when pressing the gas. once it finally catches it's a hard jerk in the car. have taken to have inspected but service station says it's fine.

Recall # s55 nhtsa 16v529 my car mil light came on last night 04/20/2018 while on the freeway doing 70 miles, stating the transmission needs to be serviced. once i got of the freeway turning right on the street the car acted as if it didn't want to go, driving at a very slow speed around 40 miles. when i came to the light to stop the car seemed as if it was going to cut off, idled low and when the light turned green for me to go the car was still a the driving speed of no more than 40 miles. once i got to my destination, i informed my fianc of the issue i was having. we went back outside after reading the cars manual around 10-15 minuets after. he started the car and the transmission message was gone but the mil light was still on. he placed the car in drive and moved it forward and then in reverse to back it up. the light was still on but he told me that based on that the transmission didn't seem to have any issues. the next morning on 04/21/2018 , i tried to auto start my car, got in the car and on the dash read disabled so the car didn't auto start. this is the first time i have ever experienced that other than when the car is low on fuel you can't auto start the car and my car had a full tank of gas when i tried starting it this morning. so when i started the car manually it no longer showed the mil light and while driving on the street and freeway back home it seemed to be driving and shifting fine. i have noticed that my car on multiple occasions, while driving has a delayed time when shifting to pick up speed and this is after the car has been running for a while and i've been driving for some distance. then once it shifts it gives a jerk then it picks up speed.

Takata recall: my car had a recall on it for the transaxle wire harness. i took it in to get fixed and my car has been stalling out. it had loss of motive power. it seems to be getting worse every day and the recall was suppose to fix it. it has almost caused a few accidents. i will hit the gas to go and my car will not move then when i take my food off the car it jults and speeds off. this happens when i stop at a stop sign also a stop light. there are no issues when i'm driving on a highway. it is only if i have to stop or go. i also have issues if i start my car and don't let it sit for s few minutes. if i start my car and go to back out it will feel like someone is hitting my break and letting go. like it won't accelerate right.

I've experienced air bag service warnings along with service parking brake warnings and service and. at one point i was on cruise control goj g 65 mph when all of a sudden all the warnings came on at once and my car shifted itself into neatral and then loss power for a second. luckily no one was behind me. i never received a notice of this recall but when i looked it up there was in fact a recall.
Tl* the contact owns a 2015 chrysler 200. the contact stated that the vehicle hesitated at any rate of speed and the oil was low. there was no oil leak present. david dodge chrysler jeep (1801 us-202, glen mills, pa 19342, (610) 358-5300) was contacted the vehicle was not repaired; however, the dealer mentioned that they serviced the vehicle under a warranty. specific diagnostic information was not disclosed. in addition, the rear shocks were replaced twice. the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 14v392000 (suspension), although the vehicle exhibited the same symptoms listed in the recall campaign. the manufacturer was notified of the failures. the failure mileage was not available. *tt consumer stated oil was low, vehicle stalled and dealer did something to the module power train. also, two front end alignments and had to replace 6 tires as well as airbag light stays on. jumper harnest under the seat needs to be replaced.*jb
On multiple occasions i have been driving down the road and my car shifts very hard and has made grinding noises. not only that but ever since i have bought it, it shifts like a rubber band being pulled back and makes you lunge forward. i believe i have taken it in 3 times now and with no resolution. the first time i took it in they had a service rep ride with me to see what i was feeling. he personally said that it wasn't shifting correctly and so they kept it. when i picked it up they informed me they did not find anything wrong with it but re-programmed it. as i left the dealership it shifted worse than before. i then called and complained and they said it was normal, on my way back home it was consistently shifting rough. i finally just pulled over shut the car off and started it up again. after doing so it shifted smoother but worse than it did before. on a separate occasion i was driving down the highway at a speed of 70 mph set on cruise when i tried to disengage the cruise control function and it would not disengage! i was going from a highway to a speed limit change and could not get it. luckily i have read about this happening and shifted it into neutral and i was able to disengage it after that.
Forward collision warning (fcw) with mitigation system did not work at a speed of 15 miles per hour. a vehicle in front of my vehicle stopped abruptly in the middle of the road and i attempted to apply the brakes but it was to late and i hit the rear of the vehicle in front of me. my vehicle which was traveling at 15 miles per hour gave no forward collision warning nor did it attempt to apply the brakes. it is my understanding that the system was made for this type of occurrence and the safety feature should have worked. the front of my vehicle sustained $6500 in damage from a minor 15 mph accident that should have been avoided or lessened with the technology package that i purchased as an add on to the vehicle.
As i'm driving down the road the engine shuts off and steering wheel locks and brake light comes on and i have to slowly stops and wait there to start the car sometimes i have to jump the car in order to start and then its ok for some time.
