This car was rented to me by enterprise leasing company in the chicagoland area. as i was in the process of making a left turn (west bound) onto a residential street, i had the passenger side front tire break away from the chassis causing me to lose control of the vehicle and hit two parked car. after the collision, i inspected the car and found the passenger-side front tire broken off and positioned 90 degrees (perpendicular) to the car in the wheel well. the hubcap side of the tire was facing backward, relative to the car, broken off from the lower control arm with the frame of the vehicle resting on the street. *cn
My car jerks and/or hesitates while driving. from a complete stop position my car has sputtered without going any place. i would have to turn off my vehicle in the middle of the road and turn it back on so i can get it to go. i have a rattling sound coming from the engine compartment and you can hear it clearly coming from the passenger side with the windows down. a brand new car and it has a lot of tranny issues. the 9 speed automatic is the worst design with major flaws. chrysler doesn't do anything unless it throws a code. 15 times in the repair shop and it is still there with the same issue that no tech can figure out. please someone do something about this. the buyback program they offer is a sham don't believe them.
I was stopped at stop sign when i took foot off brake pedal to accelerate it couldn't get traction with back tiers it felt like the back right tire locked up and it jerked back and forth until i took foot off accelerator. i stopped but couldn't see anything wrong. this happened on 8-28-15. on 8-29-15 was in a drive thru and when car is in park and i put in drive it makes a clicking sound from engine and car jerks somewhat with my foot on the brake. i have noticed that when i accelerate it hesitates to go. i am very concerned about this problem because i am almost scared to drive it because of the hesitation to go, and could cause a wreck if the tire thing happens again.
I financed the chrysler 200 2015, used on 7/13/15. around august 28th, 2015 i was driving and my car stalled while in motion in a busy intersection. a message appeared on dashboard: "engine warming wait to start", the knob and break locked i could not move the vehicle. the message on the dashboard then changed to: "shift to p." after pressing the push to start button on and off i got the car moving and decided to head to the dealer cautiously, on the way to the dealer it happened another 3 times and i was able to get it to move again and get it in the dealership. they had it in for a few days and told me they fixed the problem. an hour into driving after i left the dealership the car stalled again this time it was dark out and i was on a highway (luckily right lane) the car would not turn back on this time it was completely locked. i exited the vehicle and sat on the side of the highway waiting for a tow truck. (police were called too). this problem was blamed on the r24 recall, a month later i got the car back with the part that had to be replaced and everything seemed fine. the car stalled again on 4/20/2016, same message on dashboard this time it was while moving and making a turn and i almost got hit head on by another vehicle. they took the car in again, said nothing was wrong this time, happened again in june,2016 they said again nothing was wrong. it happened again, the end of sept,2016 and i got a recall notice for the s55 recall which can cause stalling. they kept the car in dealership said they had to wait for part from chrysler. they told me it was fixed and on 11/6/2016 i picked up the car and it stalled about 100ft away from the dealership. they took it back in, and now they said again that it is fixed and for me to pick it up. i am terrified, it is an unsafe, unpredictable vehicle. please investigate chrysler for the sake of safety. help me.
My car just turned off on me and when i tried to start it back it kept making a clicking sound . the dash then said engine warming please wait. so sfter about 10 minutes it finally turned on. later that day it turned off agaun while sitting at a stop sign and yook about another 5 minutes to cine on
On 8/17/15, i barely made around the corner from my work when i came to a stop at a stop sign and my car just shut off. took a few times pressing the button to get it started again but finally started again and made it home safely. next morning i drove to the end of my street and stopped at a stop sign and again my car shut off and this time took 5 minutes to get it started again.....i was told to bring my car in to be checked by dealership on 8/20 asked if they would supply me a loaner car until the problem is resolved and they told me no because i didn't purchase an extended warranty. since when do i need to purchase an extended warranty for a car that has a manufactured warranty still on??? i purchased the car in may 2015 and it has barely 7000 miles on it....i feel unsafe driving my car home today as i made safely to work however i worry that it may shut off again when i am in an intersection or a highway.
On a busy four lane avenue, my car just stopped. would not restart. had to call police and they blocked traffic moved off of highway. could have been a very serious accident. i have taken the car to the dealer twice complaining that the engine light kept coming on.
I typed in a complaint for the 15th and 17th but put the wrong vin number.

The transmission jerks and while driving it seems to pause then every time i slow down it accelerates. the wipers make a loud noise. the low tire icon came on when i checked tires the right amount of air was in each tire but icon would not go off. i put over the amount of air in front tires and icon still will not go off. the temp gauge will not work until i reach the speed of 55 then it slowly works. this car scares me i feel my life is at risk. i have already had 4 or 5 recalls and transmission work on it. the radio technology looses signal frequently and it has started using more gas than when i first got it. i have been so afraid of this car i feel i am playing a death game every time i drive it. i live in wv and our roads are curvy and mostly 2 lanes. can i get another safer car without being penalized this has been on going since i bought it
Smoke started coming out of the front window defroster air vent while driving. the air conditioner was on a low setting at the time and set on defrost.
Had a doctor's appt. leaving home 2min. into drive car didn't go over 5mi. stopped car ran throw gears until i felt it catch ,brakes fade sitting at a light , car speeds up going down hill ,smell of burning wires 6/28/2015 .
Leaving for work in the am, started my 2015 chrysler 200, reversed out of my driveway, made it to the corner of my cul de sac and the engine completely shut off. there was a message in the display including the words "trans," and "emergency park." the entire electrical system shut down and the emergency brake engaged. i could not put the car in park because the gear system was locked up. when the tow truck arrived he had a hard time with it because the emergency brake would not release, and the wheels would not roll. i couldn't move this car if i wanted to. i couldn't open the trunk, lock the doors, use flashers, nothing... anything electrical was out of commission. my local chrysler dealership had the car for two days, said they "performed many software upgrades" and "test drove it extensively" and that it was fixed. 20 minutes after i picked it up, i was driving in the center lane of a 3-lane highway, with my 4 year old and 1 year old in the car, and the engine shut down and the car's power and electrical system shut down also. luckily, i was able to coast into a parking lot. i had the car towed back to the dealer again. the manager of the dealership said if it happens again, i can replace the car or they will buy it back. i am terrified to drive this car again. i was lucky the first time, barely lucky the second time, who knows what situation i might be in if i agree to let this happen again? i cannot put my children in this car again. this vehicle is a substantial safety risk, and also poses additional risks to other drivers on the road around it. since everything shuts off when this happens, if i were to get into a crash as a result of it, the airbags likely would not deploy, adding to the risk of injury. i do not feel comfortable in a chrysler 200, i no longer want this vehicle.
Car turn off while driving , happen now 3x. (7/21,7/30 ,8/2)
While driving we experienced the vehicle had stopped and we were just coasting for a few blocks. the engine stopped running. some messages popped up and afterwards, when we tried to restart the vehicle, it would not turn on. this is the 2nd time this has happened. good thing we were not going fast or in traffic or i don't know what would of happened. we towed the vehicle, again, to the dealership where they too saw that the vehicle was not turning on. the vehicle just made a noise like it wanted to turn on but just couldn't. everything else was working, radio, windows, etc.
Car has stalled out on multiple random times. first happened to my boyfriend when he was driving in town, he told me about it and i assumed he maybe did something to cause the problem. the second time it has happened was when i was in the car and my boyfriend was driving it again and it stalled out again in the middle of the intersection with no traffic around. since then, it has done it three times in town in 25mph speed limits zones.around the same time this was happening, i had received the recall letter and set up an appointment and just had to wait till that day. i notified the shop the day of my appointment and told them the problem and they assumed that the new recall fix would hopefully and maybe fix the problem. since then, it has stalled out four times, and three of the times happened in the same day. the first stall out was in town again and right away i called the dealership shop to schedule an appointment again and there soonest availability was about a month away so i had no control over that. it wasn't until the next day that it happened 3 times throughout the day and 2 of those times were within a 10 minute window and this time it was on the highway. i was lucky enough at the stalling times that there was little to no traffic around me in town and on the highway, where i was able to pull over to the side safely, shut the car off and turn it back on. the dealership has the car still, they have driven it themselves for a couple days and it did not happen to them once and they cannot find an issue so they were forced to give me my car back. the problem with this issue is the stalling problem happens at random times& in different speed zone areas. very scary thought to have when driving on the road with heavy traffic, trucks, semi's, etc. behind you and not knowing if your car is going to stall or not that day or very much to that minute you are driving.
Today, i was pulling out of a walmart parking lot on to a busy road where cars go about 50-55mph. i had my 15 yr old daughter in the car with me. i started to pull out into the road and all of a sudden, my car went from driving, to feeling like the transmission slipped in to neutral. it was one of the most scary situations as cars were coming at me, and all i could do is coast over to the side of the road. this is a brand new car, with just over 3,000 miles on it. i have only had it about 6 weeks. my husband is a disabled military war veteran. we had to save and save to purchase this car. we needed something reliable. we have teenagers who also drive. now we are all terrified to drive this car; it could be deadly if we were on the highway or a busy road and the car does this again. i took it for a test drive in our neighborhood again tonight, and the same thing happened. i'm taking the car to the dealer in the morning. i hate the feeling that this car is dangerous; what a horrible thing to happen when purchasing a new car.
At the time of incident, the car was 11 months old. i was driving at 50 mph when the engine stalled and would not start again. it shook and sputtered continuously when attempting to start. i had the vehicle towed to the nearest dealership. it was returned to me after one day of repairs. i drove six miles and parked at a shopping center. when attempting to leave the shopping center parking lot, the vehicle once again refused to start, even though i was told it had been repaired. i had it towed again. the vehicle underwent repairs and testing for an entire week before being returned to me yet again. i have driven the vehicle since then with no apparent issues, but the problem i encountered must be prevented before it occurs. it was life-threatening, and it would be even more so had i been driving at freeway speeds or parked in dangerous surroundings.
When i'm driving my car it puts itself in neutral. either from reverse to drive, at a stop sign, accelerating on highway. it's not a current issue it does it when it wants and its not safe but every dealership tells me there is "nothing" wrong with my car i've been fighting with dealerships since i bought the car of the show room floor, and the problem still isn't fixed and with a baby on the way i refuse to put our child in it with how unsafe it is.
The placement of the shift paddles (sport shift model chrysler 200s) has caused two near accidents for me. these paddles (+ and -) are located on the back of the steering wheel on both the right and left sides, just above the control buttons on the back for the sound system. while driving east bound on 16 mile road, i thought i was changing the channel of my radio station, instead i hit the paddle, this stopped my acceleration and my vehicle slowed down, i tried to accelerate again, instead the rpms went up. i did not know how to adjust and was in the left (fast) lane where i had to pull off into the 'michigan left' lane, i then turned off the car and restarted it again. this happened again on hall road approximately two weeks later, fortunately i was slowing down anyway to turn on to a street. i believe most of the functions in this car are ergonomically wrong. the 'dial' to park, neutral, reverse, drive is just a few inches away from the air flow dial. i have looked behind the car to be sure there were no pedestrians / vehicles and while my head was turned, my hand turned the dial for air flow instead of the dial for reverse. the emergency parking brake is a small pull button just a few inches away as well. i have had a passenger try to pull it as they asked what it was . . .

Today i decided to file a complaint but this has happened to me on at least four different occassions. 1. i pull out of my garage 2. driving approx 25ft out of my garage i place my vehicle in park 3 after being in park for less then a minute 4 i put my car in drive 5 is where the problem comes in the park break engages it self with no assistant from me! 6 causing me to have to disengage it when this should not be happening
My vehicle stall on i-95 and when trying to go over 45mph, it won't go over 45mph, the vehicle overheats , check engine light is one, fcw is on and throttle service light also came on. engine rev high when trying to go over a certain speed. vehicle sometimes doesn't start. vehicle is giving engine problem. smoke is coming out, very very very loud whining noise when in drive going over 35mph
We were at a stop sign when we heard a noise and felt a jolt. we got out of the car to observe what had happened and discovered that the ball joint was not properly installed from the factory. the pinch bolt was installed but the head of the ball joint never passed completely through. when it came apart, it came apart with such force that it jerked the axel out and caused some minor body damage. the right front tire was flipped out and turned. the front end of the car was resting on the fender. as stated on the repair invoice...."lower ball joint separated from knuckle, doesn't appear to be fully installed. replaced right front lower arm, knuckle, axel, splash shield. relearn power steering and four wheel alignment". we were on our way to a week long vacation and had to spend it in a dealership and enterprise rental car agency. vehicle was not repaired when we had to leave and come home. i have videos and photos. spoke to chrysler care who seemed willing to work with us. i advised that my daughter was terrified to drive this car again. we had only had it 2 weeks. this was her first new car purchase. she is a full time nursing student and works a full time job. we asked that chrysler just replace the vehicle with one of equal value and was told by the buyback department that they were refusing to do that and that this was covered under the warranty. the vehicle is still sitting at a chrysler dealer in myrtle beach sc. it has been there over a month. chrysler has refused to assist us. i have spoken to an attorney and was advised that i would need to sue chrysler corp. and the dealership. this vehicle passed 2 inspections at the dealer with faulty assembley. i have copies of all phone conversations, the time and name of who i spoke with along with a copy of the invoice. thank you in advance for your assistance!
The engine has locked up three different occasions all within july-august of 2015. you get no warning as to when the motor will lock up. chrysler is not compasionate what so ever. there are 2 more recalls on my car one of which has no available parts. its a high risk safety concern. the front right axle sounds like its going to fall off. i dont feel safe at all driving this car. its a safety hazard for me aswell as other drivers. i asked for them if my car qualified i was told yes but never received the email and so i asked again now they say no. the 2015 chrysler 200 is a lemon that should be taken off the highway!!!
Driving down the road and the car stalled. tried to restart but wouldn't turn over. finally got it started again and got home. was towed to dealership. i was just called and they said i had a wire that was not connected right. i looked on line and there seems to be a lot of complaints about this car stalling while driving. these is very dangerous.
Friday: while wife was driving the car suddenly vibrated and stalled. the vehicle indicated it was still running even though it was off. was unable to shut off completely for a few minutes, after about 10 minutes car restarted, check engine light remained on. dealer said to continue to drive. engine light went off over the weekend. sunday: driving at approximately 25 miles per hour car suddenly stalled and we were able to coast to side of road. car indicated it was still on and running even though it was off. was able to put car in park and eventually shut it off. car would not restart. car would not change gears, so unable to put it in neutral when tow arrived. towed to dealer and they held it until friday. said that the pins in the power distribution center were loose and that was the problem. friday: picked car up from dealer, wife drove it less than 1 mile and it stalled and shut off again in an intersection. after approximately 10 minutes the car restarted. is now back at the dealer.
As i was driving on the bypass my sunroof exploded shattering glass all over the interior.
Had a recall on transmission was on my way to get my child and it just shut down had it towed to dealer they had my car a month i finally got it back and is now shutdown again but worse this time... i feel something needs done... i shouldn't have to stress and worry over driving my car especially with my child and driving a good distance monthly to receive treatments i have to have. it's locked up you can't start the car it just stays in run but won't start can't move the shifter transmission light is on and it even says something about transmission safety on the screen
I put the car into drive, nothing happened. i returned it to to park and then drive again..............still nothing! i press the gas while in drive. ...............nothing for a little while ,and then suddenly a loud noise and i suddenly dart of my drive way!!! since day one with this vehicle i noticed jerking in the transmission, slow reaction when pressing gas and vehicle excels while i'm not pressing the gas! this car is dangerous! i'm concerned for my family's safety!
Chrysler 200c awd. while sitting at a red light suddenly my dash lit up with the red "service transmission" message then "shift to p then desired gear" and "service park brake". i wasn't able to shift at all, the selector would stay in "p" or the light on the selector would go from "p" to "s" directly bypassing "n" and "d" with just one twist but the car would stay in park. i tried restarting the car a few times with no success. after calling chrysler roadside assistance and starting to wait an unknown amount of time for a tow i decided to try a electronic "reboot" by disconnecting the negative terminal in the battery. after leaving it off for a couple of minutes then reconnecting i was able to restart and shift the transmission into "d" and get moving again. my check engine light is now illuminated and i am really concerned it will happen again.
The engine slips into neutral state while driving. first the "service park brake" indicator came on followed by "service transmission". then the shift indicator lights all turned on (p, n, d, s ). it was then necessary to coast to the shoulder. once while on the expressway. turned engine off and on and still all shift indicator lights remained illuminated. it stayed in this condition so the car could not be re-started. roadside assistance pulled the lead off the battery to reset. my vehicle is now in the shop for the 3rd time for the same problem. prior to the vehicle stalling completely there were 2 or 3 instances where i was able to shift to neutral and then to drive without having to pull over, i thought it was something i was doing until i realized i had bigger problems.

I was made aware of a recall effecting certain vin#s in the model year 2015 chrysler 200 line. this recall was for "contaminated, dislodged or broken parking pawl or park rod (nhtsa recall id 15v-090): ". when i search by my vin# i do not see that mine is included but i can tell you from shortly after purchasing the vehicle until now, on a weekly basis i will pull into a parking spot/driveway and put my car in park and it will continue to roll forward or backward 1-3 feet before it actually stops moving. it seems to me that either the dealership failed to inspect this car properly before we purchased it or that that there are more vin#s that should be evaluated for the issue. i would be happy to take my car to the dealership so that they can experience what this car does.
I was at a stop sign with my spouse and i was taking a right hand turn. the car didn't move at all then all of a sudden it lunged forward causing us to jerk back and forth. i still have lower back pain because of this and my spouse neck was hurting for a couple of weeks. other than that i have several issues that had yet to be resolved. there is a rattling sound coming from the engine compartment. they told me it was a knock and i have tried different brands of gas and it 's still there. the car still lunges forward from a stop even though it has had an update on its system multiple times. when you put the car in park it rolls forward quite a bit. 2 times it jumped out of park and into reverse. i have had an airbag issue 5 times and today it is at the dealership to be repaired again. it is the right side airbag. connectors were changed and wiring 4 times. car hesitates a lot especially from a stand still. i have almost gotten into accidents due to the fact that when i was taking a left on a major road from a complete stop the car rolled a little and didn't go. it hesitated jerked hard and went really slow. a grinding noise came from the tranny. another issue i have is that my car vibrates. i don't have no ac nor radio on and it just vibrates. the tech told me that chryslers star will not do anything for my vehicle just updates. i'm paying for a car that spends about a week in the shop once a month since april. no one can figure it but they can hear the rattling and feel the sound. i even had one tech told me that i should deal with it that i am not the only one complaining but star isn't going to do anything about it. yet again it is at the shop today getting an update and the airbag being repaired.
Driving down highway car just shuts off and are stuck in middle of road, car wont restart and have to wait 15min then it will restart. you can not push car off road. have contacted chrysler after 4 times to dealer ship for same problem and have been told can't duplicate or don't know what is wrong with it. chrysler has opened up 2 cases and still no resolution. they declined to buyout the vehicle or replacement. i get same story, bring it in for service and we are sorry. no you will be sorry when my wife and kids are injured in this defective car. there has been numerous time of broken down on road and having dump truck or 18 wheelers dodging my car to avoid accidents. they have replaced computer, transmission parts and sensors. i truly believe it will never be fixed. need to get the word out and chrysler needs to be held responsible. i urge everyone to avoid these cars, unsafe and accident waiting to happen and dealership and chrysler does not care!!!
Car's engine stalls at main road for no reason. it would not start up and check engine light came up, dealer tested the car and found nothing wrong, did the same thing again today with the exemption that it was in my driveway going in reverse the transmission would not go back in parking and the engine stalled after 2 minutes the car started up but the transmission indicator shift between p ans s mode. called chrysler after that happened and the customer service operator said the it was not possible to remote diagnosed because the car had no engine check light or warning message that if it happen again take the vehicle to the dealer or a mechanic for code scanning. took the car to advance auto part store and it show code "p0975 power transmission solenoid b control circuit range /performance" dangerous situation when this happens in the highway or road at higher speed because the engine shuts off and transmission does not response making the car uncontrollable.
While driving on saturday morning on march 5, 2015 about 7:30am i had just gotten off i 285 and campbellton rd. at the corner of campbellton rd. and barge rd. and was turning onto barge rd. when the car just cut off and stopped. i as well as my passenger (ex-ga. state rep. ms. roberta abdul-salaam) was on our way to pick up someone else to go to a conference for the day. we almost both went out of the wind shield and the car didn't move another two feet. while in the middle of the intersection we decided to get out and wait on a bench for the tow truck i called through uconnect. [xxx] got picked up and i waited for the tow truck. after truck arrived we towed the vehicle to landmark. after securing a loan-a-vehicle for the dealership i left around 2pm. the service department said that they found that it had no power at wiring from coil f343 asd ckt. traced back to blown f16 fuse in ipm. there also was a recall on the car. i picked up the vehicle on 3/12/2015 and put it in the parking lot of the dealer (landmark). information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr
This car been major problems with transmission jerking.car has shut off while driving several times.visbilty is 0 at times due to climate controls not being fixed properly,has been in shop for 36 days for climate control,matter still existed and said to be fix , but still major issues.rattling in door on passenger side.car has stop rinning at all, said to be due to low oil, but not the case, has done it again and oil was done 1,000 miles prior to be done.chrysler can not duplicate the jerking tho they claim. has failed to answer lawyers back or 2 letters sent due to it being a lemon and no repsonse from manufacturer
Financed this car brand new off the lot in august 2015. since then it has been in the repair shop 4 times and the car is still jerking. the 3rd time i took it in the shop they claimed they put a new transmission in. after driving for a few minutes the car was doing the same exact thing. i then took it to a well known mechanic and they told me it was a transmission problem and that i needed a new one. i felt lied to and knew they sold me a lemon. they still have my car and i'm still paying for this car i don't even have, plus spending money on a loaner car. i feel so humiliated and sick to my stomach. i had to miss holidays because the car was not safe to drive anywhere in that condition. please help me.
This car from the time i bought it haves issues when taking off it stalls doesn't want to take offor it will take off fast without really hitting gas it can cause an accident i've called they did a recall on it that causes that problem but it's still a problem or shuts off
Since we have had it, our vehicle has given off a funny smell from the air conditioner. in the beginning, we assumed that it was because it was a new car. then later, we assumed that it would eventually go away. however, it still has not gone away. not every time, but definitely frequently, we experience a foul smell coming from the air conditioning system, something like mildew or something.
When i first got the car it was scary to drive for me.it is slow to pick up when i give it gas and is jerky while driving like a standard. it progressively got worse. while driving and then slowing down it would speedup quickly instead of slowing down.i had to keep pumping the brake then it would slow down. then while driving the engine icon came on. made an appointment with the service center at the dealership. they checked it out and told me it was only number that accidentally came on when someone moved the gearshift button while i was driving. i drive alone 99 percent of the time and this didn't happen. they told me the icon was out and would never come on again. less than a mile down the road while leaving it came on again. so i turned around and took it back. they put it on the machine again and said it was the transmission. they would have to order the part and fix it when it came in. i asked if i should be driving it until then and they said yes it would not hurt anything. a week later they called and had it a week. saying it was the o-rings and seals in the transmission. i picked it up today and it still worries me to drive it. it sounds louder and makes noise when i turn it off and on. it sounds and feels like it is in fast gear and not idling down when you turn it off and on. i don't feel safe while driving this car and i bounce up and down while driving on the highway which didn't bounce before. the tires feel like they hit each bump hard. chrysler recalled the programming about 2 months ago, i am not sure what it was but they said it was fixed but it has gotten worse that is when the trouble started.
