Out of no where after i took my car to the dealership i bought my car from and they said that there was an electrical issue that popped up... then after they ran scan a day or two later my check engine light comes on and then my car won't start ... took it to a chrysler dealership and they said all the problems i was having was because my battery but before that even happened my car was on 14 vollatages... had to pay for a new battery and only had the car a year
Driver noticed smoke coming from front of vehicle and pulled over.
Purchased 2015 chrysler 200 at 4:35 pm. got on hwy 25 miles west going home i-70 west to bonner springs, the car started hesitating, i nearly got thrown off highway by 3 semis- adnd 2 trucks and cars behind me, let off horrible burning odor, and nearly threw my body out of the car, but i handled well. i got off i-70 to state avenue- runs parallel directions. then, when i came to a number of lights- the engine revved up, like it was jerking motions. i paid it some attention, but was at a loss for words. i thought i was on a race track engines revved up, but i was not going to a race track. so, i came home- settled now down to2:445 in the morning very shaken up. so, i notified the televisions news stations and the kansas city star newspaper as we speak. i decided to read the "chrysler 200 reviews, and i am sure you can pull them too. i just searched for chrysler 200 reviews- and i read so many "exact" stories- i don't know what to say. i cannot sleep. this is the worst feeling i have ever had. read the reviews. help people live, and get rid of these cars. just think, it has great leg room- i had plans for my nieces- to go to texas, we cannot die at once. i am not ready to be buried- at least let me teach a few more months and years. had it been snowing, i would be dead. my life has been turned up side down, since 4pm. it is not just me. don;t let these people kill kids,my nieces could have died this weekend. i thought i was going to pick them up, but i am so shaken,i am ice cold all over. i pray to god- you will cease these vehicles at once. please don;t let any more people drive these cars- and please show these on face the nation on channel 5 cbs stations. thank-god- my nieces are alive. i am so glad to be home. i plan to get a police escort to the dealership 9/12/2017. i have had so much trouble finding honesty. god bless us.
The car is shutting of while driving in traffic; no warning signs are on and care gives no warning. i purchased the vehicle used on january 2015 from russ darrow in milwaukee, wi and they are not being any help this is truly a safety issue for myself and other vehicles on the road with me. this happened to me 4 times now within the past 48hors and once while i was on the freeway.i looked online at other makes and models in different the same state and different states by customers driving the same vehicle and the exact same issue as my vehicle this is scary and dangerous because this could the cause of a deadly accident. the vehicle gives no warning its bout to shut off i feel like this matter should be taking seriously and look into these vehicles she be done. this is scary and especially when your using the vehicle to transport your young children. please look at this complaint and others driven this vehicle because chrysler seems to not care about the safety of there consumers
Car cuts off while i was driving on the interstate also stalls while driving and won't pick up speed.
While in fwd motion on a city street, car turned off and stopped. display showed service trans stop safely, shut off engine, to engage park also said service park brake. after many attempts to restart, it finally did, but was towed to chrysler dealership to be diagnosed
Takata recall had the car since april of this year. cut off over 20 times and consumes oil a lot. i mean i'm adding oil every 700 miles almost. car has left me in the middle of intersections with my family in danger
The transaxle wire harness has a recall on it and i have been waiting almost 2 years for the new part to come in and still it has not. this is causing a delay when taking off from a stop. has almost caused several wrecks. it haooens daily.
When driving the vehicle the vehicle stops. this has happened 10 times all together and this is while driving this issue is dangerous. we do not have another vehicle at this time and we have contacted chrysler via twitter, the dealership and no help has been given. we think it's an update issue but no one a=wants to complete updates due to it's free and the company is not getting any money
Takata recall when you press the brake it makes a spring sound. when you drive the gear switches by itself and the car accelerates by itself.
Tamara inflators: i was driving my car when i notice that it didn't want to go no more then 20 miles per hour so i was able to go to a friends house then i try to turn the car back on and it wouldn't turn on like if my battery was dead took the battery to get it check and it was charged so it wasn't my battery my check engine light would come on my car sometimes it jerk sometime it would take off fast and i would press on the gas and it wouldn't go ... right now i have the car at the dealer ship cause it lost power... note: i was driving at the time my car would only go 20 miles per hour i was on a busy street i had to pull my car to the side and drive it to the closes place to stop and check it out...i had car behind me honking it was a nightmare
I went to leave in my car and it wouldnt start, the car put its self in neutral and would not move. the emergency break light came on and the engine light came on. car still wouldn't start. after 3 hours the car startes and was back in park. the engine and parking light was and still is on. there has been recalls on 2015 chrysler 200's for this issue. but not mine!!!!
I have a engine light on that is regarded to a active grill shutter. i have had the dealer look at it and they say the motor has gone bad and needs to be replace. car has 47k miles on it!!!!!! nope not covered under warranty. today i get in my car and my air bag light comes on and says to service air bag system. while driving the light will come on and go off about every 2 miles.

This chrysler 200 my2015 suddenly fails transmission indicating awd not available and fails to accelerate. works back sometime for few minutes after stop and start engine again. majority of the times fails to accelerate with the indication of a collision in the dashboard. attached a picture on how it looks. incident happened in many occasions like while driving on a freeway as well as city street , stopping in a signal light.
This car is a death trap i purchased it april 19, 2017 27k miles haven't made my first payment yet and the car is about to kill me. engine stalling while on the highway right in front of an 18 wheeler i lost acceleration and car cut off. car jerks back and forth very hard then tells me to put it in park and restart numerous times. sometimes doing so doesn't start the car until after a few tries. this car will cut off lose speed and nearly break your neck driving rather you are at a low or high speed going up or down hill. took it to chrysler they don't seem to know what's wrong with it they kept my car still to say they don't know what's going on with it. there's no lights that are popping on and no warning before it happens please do not buy this car. i've been losing acceleration on the highway and just driving through the city.
The passenger airbag alarm stays on and interrupts the info on the dash. the radio has turned up on its own and would not turn off even when the car was turned off and door opened. the engine constantly stalls especially when making a hard or fast turn or when braking hard. sometimes jt cuts off when idling. it is always hard to get restarted, and requires several minutes of trying. the radio problems happen when stationary. the airbag light us constant during stationary and movement. the engine stalls happen mostly when deceleration or hard turns or braking. sometimes a red light with lightenjng bolt appears on dash and the car will ride very rough until turned off and turned back on
When the vehicle is down shifting to make a stop it skips 2nd gear completely. it goes from 3rd to 1st with a lurch forward that almost feels like you have been rear ended. and has almost caused a collision with the vehicle in front of me numerous times. i took the vehicle to the dealership who performed a update and was told that the vehicle is functioning properly and that it needs to learn my driving habits. but the problem seems to be progressively getting worse and feels more and more unsafe everyday. this has been a ongoing issue and complaint since the vehicle was purchased in july of 2016. with numerous complaints and visits to the local dealership. the most recent being in may of 2017
On five separate occasions the vehicle has stalled while applying the brake or driving a speeds between 25-30 mph on neighborhood streets. it has happened in temperatures range from 30-75 degrees, typically after sitting all day or overnight. after stalling, it becomes difficult to restart, taking several attempts to engage the engine. it has had repeated software updates to resolve the issue without positive results.
Vehicle shut down at random after 1 month of driving when purchased april 2017 and has been stalling and randomly shutting down since. there has been two to three maintenance checks at two auto services including chysler. this problem has not ben fixed. i was deiving everytime it shutdown and the vehicle stalls while driving and sometimes when stationary.
I was stopped at a red light on clear day with no traffic in front of me when my moonroof exploded, raining glass down on me. i was stationary and there was no other traffic, so i know nothing hit the moonroof to cause the explosion.
Airbag service light on dashboard for fourth time dealer claimed to fix and never did. when i had warranty they claim no issue now they find the problem since car out of warranty saying short in airbag. first time car stalled ligh on dashboard was electrical throttle then airbag light again
Turned onto destination street and upon paring, engine light started flashing, then smoke started, got out of vehicle, fire started and attempted to put out fire with extinguisher, called 911.
Transmission is shifting hard take out of gear while i am moving
My car seems like it wants to die (and does die when i use the fob to start it) when it is started and when it is running....last sunday (2-26-17) my car began to sputter and vibrate. my car barely had any acceleration and it was hesitating as if it was trying to shift gears. i took it to a mechanic shop the next day and they replace 4 sparkplugs. another test was redone, the engine light stayed off and all seemed well. after about 30 miles began to sputter yet the vibrating was not as bad; still hesitation and not wanting to accelerate. wednesday, my fob would not start my car. sometimes it will start the car but the car shuts itself off before i can get in. my engine light is back on and i am not sure what is wrong. the mechanic wants to start replacing one coil at a time. he also said this type of problem should not be happening with a 2015. (my car flooded in august 2016 and i purchased this chrysler on september 17, 2016)
While driving the car on a city street ~ 30 mph, it dies. tells me to shift to park and restart. did this 3 times in a row. each time i try to restart it sputters and acts like it won't restart. was able to get to a parking lot less than a block away.
The service airbag light keeps coming on
There is an intermittent problem with the navigation system in my 2015 chrysler 200c. from time-to-time, it shows that the vehicle is someplace other than where i know it to be. when that happens, the time of day also displays incorrectly. this leads me to guess that the unit is somehow processing the gps signal incorrectly. the attached photo was taken in the parking lot of a known location of a business called preferred care at wall in wall, nj. it's location is shown in the google maps screenshot1 attached. in the photo, you can see the blue awning over the entryway and the three flag poles, just as shown in the google maps street view. but the nav screen shows the vehicle to be on orchard crest blvd east of route 34 in manasquan, nj, about 2-1/2 miles east of the vehicle's known position. you can see the relationship between the two locations in screenshot2 attached. in addition, the nav system is displaying the time of day as 7:03. the actual time of day at the time the picture was taken was 7:39 as shown on the watch on the dash. that watch is connected to a smartphone and displays the time of day according to verizon wireless. the chrysler dealer says they cannot do anything unless i can duplicate the problem in the presence of a technician, which is impossible because the problem is intermittent. an unreliable navigation system is dangerous for a driver who must navigate through unfamiliar areas or make a detour from a known route. because it is intermittent, it is also dangerous because is presents an unpredictable distraction to the driver.

My chry 200, 2015 was involved in a front end collision and the air bags did not deploy. when my car collided with the side of a school bus the whole front and driver side of the chrysler was smashed in and tore off. the vehicle was in motion on impact, on a city street while turning left.
First, there is the hvac/windshield defrost. my concern with that condition is that my vehicle is my main source of travel and to have the hvac to work properly in the summer is vital as well, as having a clear windshield. a breakdown at night, an accident, hitting a pole hole, something or someone would be far worse than a mere inconvenience. incidentally, my intended use of the vehicle was made quite clear to the sales staff when i bought it. second, and the matter of far greater concern to me is the transmission. car making clucking noise, vibrating, jerking while shifting gears and launching while driving as if someone hit me from the back. third, vehicle is only 2 years old and has had to have the drive shaft replaced. which in return i've been without vehicle for more then 14 days and occur extra expenses of car rentals, tires and wheel alignment due to irregular wear. fourth, hesitation on attempt to accelerate. i was informed that issue would be resolved with replacement of drive shaft. defective drive shaft was the reason for delay and jerking. fifth, excessive gas burning. i was informed that exist because of drive shaft. once drive shaft was replaced it didn't resolve issue. i was giving a formula to calculate gas mileage, which was given to dealer. car averaging 16mpg. per car sticker fuel economy: highway 29/ city 18. car is driven mostly on highway without a lot of stop and go traffic. our state's lemon law dictates that a vehicle carries a presumption that it is a lemon if a condition exists 'that is likely to cause death or serious bodily injury if the vehicle is driven and the nonconformity has been subject to repair two or more times by the manufacturer or its agents, and the buyer or lessee has at least once directly notified the manufacturer of the need for the repair of the nonconformity.'
Pulled into a parking lot and upon parking i put the vehicle in park. i hadn't turned the car off but let my foot off the brake and the car began to roll backwards. i had to shift out of park and then back to get it to stay in park.
Car burns entire supply of oil in less than 1500 miles. engine oil depletes without warning then the car cuts off in the middle of the road. oil life reads improperly on the dash.
I brought the car march 9 2016 on july 10 2016 the car stopped in the middle of the highway and it read "transmission pull over to prevent rolling " the car wouldn't go in reverse drive or park i took it in to get service and they assured me the problem was fixed. they said it was a faulty wire. november 4 2016 same situation the car stops on me. i call corporate and that's when they want to tell me "did you know there is a recall on your transmission " why didn't someone tell me before. why is it that i have to call to complain to get someone to tell me there is a recall on my car. now i'm driving a car that is unsafe to drive
The car stalls on my wife every day. she sitting at light or sitting in traffic. you can be driving on the freeway and without warning it cuts off. i am now the only chrysler owner that is having this issue. this is going to cause a really bad accident, or maybe someone dieing dealing with this issue. i have been calling so see if there is a recall. i saw something on google and said there is a recall but when i call the dealer ship they say there is no recall. what is it going to take for us to get a recall on the 2015 chrysler 200's engine stalling problem. this started happen back in october 2016.
I was driving my car and it went into nuetral on its on. a car almost hit me. i then tried to put it in park and it shows its in park but it was still rolling. i called the dealership and spoke to cynthia she states that they are understaff since their techs are training this week, stated that i don't have an extended warranty (just got the car march 2016) and that the recalls i found they cannot repair at this point since they don't know and don't have the parts. i then towed the car myself to golden state auto in citrus heights, ca they tried to assist. they stayed the tcm is not responding and is stuck in nuetral. they also called the dealership and was told they don't know how to fix this.
Vehicle has hard shifts and lurches when driving, complete loss of propulsion, then the gas kicks back in and it uncomfortably lurches forward when shifting. vehicle loses propulsion and shuts the engine off while driving various speeds and while turning, stalls, dash says shift to p to start, shows only battery symbol, shift knob d symbol blinking, loss of power steering. i shift the vehicle into park, shut the vehicle off, try to restart the vehicle and it makes a horrible dead battery starting sound, sometimes starts first try, sometimes i have to wait a few minutes. vehicle does this every time its driven.
The vehicle is consuming the oil and then shuts off with no warning has left us in 2 intersections had the car looked at both times the dealership is monitoring oil after cryselr done a reset but it is still consuming oil i have spoke with crysler but nothing has been done to ensure my families safty.

On december 2015, i bought the 2015 chrysler 200 limited from gilroy chrysler dealer. (malfunction #1) on sunday april 17, 2015, @ approximately 9:45 i drove my chrysler less than a mile from my home when i made a right turn & my car turned off and the steering wheel locked up. i started my vehicle and was able to drive it. (malfunction #2) the vehicle has also had problems making a clicking noise when going in reverse like metal on metal contact. (malfunction #3) when i put the vehicle in drive it is delayed and changes hard. on april 23, 2015 my vehicle was serviced for an oil change & tire rotation @ (stevens creek jeep dodge) 4100 stevens creek blvd, ca 95129 and the service advisor was advised. he advised they were booked up for 3 weeks in order to conduct a diagnostic check under the vehicle's warranty. the vehicle was serviced and it is scheduled for the first week of may. the dealer would not give a for a temporary vehicle until the vehicle is safe to drive. i am a single mother two children.
I was about to turn right onto the street, when i felt loss of power. the car etc, mil, and etc indicator lights came on. transmission goes into stall mode, does not go over 30 mph, speeding up and slowing down and shaking excessively. i've only had this car for 10 months. now if this was to have occurred on a weekday i would have been on the freeway and this would have caused a major accident.
I were in little but really scared accident with my almost new chrysler. in very slow traffic (5-7 miles/hour) when i tried to come home after work meeting from kirkland suddenly i realized that my brakes don't wanna stop the car with light tapping as it was ok previously, then tapped on brake harder and then panic and realized the brake. i end up with hang on the tail (the little thing attached to the rear end of the car) of big track. i tried to say something about brakes problem to my insurance, but collision repair company did not confirm my concerns and i paid $1000 deductible as the driver in fault (in the future it will affect my monthly pay for insurance). i tried to find the solution but only my family can support me without laughing at my problem with the car safety. one of my friends told me, that i need to involve some of an independent professional and stop trying talk to the wall. chrysler already took an advantage of my not fair purchase and then my trade-in with them (my dealership refused to replace my previous chrysler 200 for safety reason again!!! and sold to me my current chrysler for $43,000 and it's not safe still!!!). in additional, i scared with the noise producing by the car while i'm driving: there are two types of noise from the engine when it's going down of the hill and windows or something like windows shaking noise. frankly saying, i have very upsetting experience with the dealership and start looking for the second opinion with treating me as the fair and professional business. please let me know what is in the options to keep my life safe since i have a strong feeling, that i'm not safe to drive my chrysler. thank you! *tr

Took my perfectly driving 200 in for an oil service and tire rotation. the dealer also stated there was a software update (no detailed explanation so i assumed it was the radio security) nov 21th, 2015. i waited for the service to be completed and upon driving home noticed the car acting weird, the transmission was not down shifting correctly and lunging forward terribly. i immediately contacted the dealership and they advised the software flash would take 1,000 miles-what? sounds like bull s**t to me but i drove it over 1500 miles for christmas in in with everyone riding along asking what the heck is wrong with my car! i contacted the dealer upon my return and after some excuses and a service manger with an attitude it now goes back in jan 9th, 2016 but they are already trying to blow it off.....drove perfect till my dealer and fca screwed it up! if they even attempt to tell me it needs to reflash or its my driving style i will immediately request a test drive in a new one and video it. update from dec 31, 2015 fca tells me my car had the tcm and pcm updated when the problem started. update from feb 8, 2016 well after two more visits......this car still does not down shift correctly without a lurch forward between 2nd and 1st. some nice pieces of crap you have built in detroit chrysler! feb 25,2016-chrysler informed me they are aware of the lunging forward while trying to stop but no known repair is available. keep driving it! its a safety hazard and injury waiting to happen.

The safety recall letter said to contact if the dealer could remedy the defect in a reasonable time frame. the soonest they can fit my car in is january 2016. they said they are overloaded with all of the recalls and they can't do it sooner. i'm 33 weeks pregnant and i have a 3 year old. i really don't need the added stress that my car, which i bought new in february 2015, could potentially stall and crash without warning. that is a lawsuit waiting to happen if something does go wrong.
Takata recall i started to notice that the vehicle would jerk when switching gears and would almost feel like it ran into a wall soon after i purchased it. here recently it has happened a lot more frequently. i have taken the car to the dealer 3 separate times to see what the problem is. i was told they were unable to see the problem while they drove the vehicle so was unable to fix it. if i was able to make the problem happen i would as it happens sporadically!
My airbag light was going on and off throughout the day. i brought it to the dealer and they didn't find any codes but the light was off. i went down the road and it turned back on so i went back. they found the same code that's been giving me issues regarding the passenger seat. 7 times for the same issue. i had brought my car back and forth since march 2015 for the tranny issue. it jerks, hesitates, and rattles. on a serious note my neck hurts cause it causes me to jerk forward. all chrysler keeps doing is reprogramming my computer on the tranny but it doesn't work. i have over 17 work orders, over 30 days of staying in the shop, and all they do is reprogram it per chrysler star orders. recently i went to reverse the vehicle and it shot forward then knocked into reverse. the buyback program is a lie. please do not purchase the chrysler 200. it's just a headache and a waste of money.
