Radio going crazy, horn honk for no reason when you get out of it,low battery blink then go off, check engine light go on , then go off after few minutes, speedometer act like its sticking when acceleration or deceleration, traction control light come on then go off, cruise control on and it reduce speed, tachometer go up as if your speeding up when its sitting still, car is not shifting smooth like it use to, burnt plastic smell, weird gear oil smell, but no signs of leak, and locks unlocking hours after you lock it and alarm is on, it just takes turns doing different things, started couple of weeks ago, so far, they have not figured out what's going on yet, been in shop since tuesday and it still has warranty for pre certified cars, all these problems happened while driving it on the highway, it start with occasional incident and now its daily, i am concerned the next time instead of slowing the car down that it will just shut off like some of the others have done
Service stabilitrack/ traction control off display on dashboard while car is in motion. car will jerk while accelerating and cruise control doesn't work. it will reset and work properly after turning car off for 1-3 min and restarting. it happens periodically on several occasions at various times and on trips of various lengths. there seems to be no pattern or precursor for the malfunction.
Last week when my car was parked, it died. when i got back in, i realized it had died, and tried to start it. when i started it, all of these errors started popping up: "engine power reduced", "traction control is off", "service stabilitrak". the power was definitely reduced, and i could barely creep along. the car even shook like it was about to die. then when i was trying to stop the abs breaks came on and off several times. i parked and turned it off then turned it back on after a minute. it was back to normal except the service engine light was on. so i took it to the dealership and had them check it out. they couldn't find anything to fix and said to call again if anything happened again (they did charge the battery). i went and picked it up and drove it 10 miles. i parked and shut it off. when i came back out to start it about 30 minutes later, this time there was an error about the guidelines on the camera system not working and the same stabilitrak error. so i shut it off and started it back up. it seemed to be functional after restarting it. it was okay for a few days until the major errors happened again this morning. i was trying to pull into a parking spot and it did the same thing with the same errors that i first had. it actually went to a total stop and would not move forward at all. i was thankful that i was in a parking lot and not on the highway my children in the car with me. it was so sudden, that if we had been on the highway, i am sure i would have been in an accident. i turned it off and back on and the same thing happened again with the same errors. so i turned it off again and let it sit for a minute and turned it back on. the errors were gone but the service light was on. it seemed functional again. there are tons of similar situations reported online. the dealership is supposed to check it again.
Loses power on high way. bought car brand new in 2014. been happening since 2014 and 20 thousand miles. big safety consern when power is lost lose about 20 mph and the
Car starts braking and warning on dash traction control off, stabil track keep flashing and car keeps braking and releasing back to speed ,keeps going till you turn it off and it resets itself . it happens at any speed and any weather city street and highway that realy is scary becuse you can get rear ended.by the car behind you.hope you can help.ithas hapened at least 5 times in the last 6 months
On major highway, then on city street both times engine light and traction control light flash along with the vehicle hesitating, not wanting to accelerate/shaking
On more that one occasion but most recently on 03/16/2018 i have driving my vehicle and i get the first message of, "service stabilitract". the next message is, "traction control off". it is then following by, "engine power is reduced" and my check engine light comes on. the vehicle then decelerates to 10-20 mph. this has occurred to me twice while on the highway travelling in excess of 60 mph.(not while accelerating). this has occurred while accelerating from 0 mph, 30+ mph, 60+ pmh and decelerating from 60+mph, 30+mph and from 0 to 30 mph. it has occurred while turning a corner, driving in a straight line. the dealership said to bring the vehicle in after an incident without turning off the vehicle. i have not been able to drive the vehicle without ever having to stop and turn off the vehicle. the power steering is almost non-existent after reduced engine power occurs. it feels like it is running on three of the six cylinders and has almost caused me to have an accident. i almost hit a school bus once. the vehicle is at the dealership again for it's second week of diagnostics.
While driving the reduce engine speed, traction control, stabili-trac, and the check engine light flashes. the engine speed was reduced to a crawl. this has happened three times now and the speed doesn't seem to make a difference 30mph - 65mph. while we have been able to turn the car off and get it to drive home after 5 mins, it is dangerous because it happens while driving at higher speeds in the middle of traffic.
The vehicle stalled while in motion, driving in thick traffic. engine just died, stabilitrak warning on dash. unable to start car.
While driving on the highway the traction control, stabilitrak warning indicator comes on and then immediately reduces power to the vehicle. this is extremely dangerous. you could be driving normal highway speeds of 70 mph and then all of a sudden the vehicle goes into this traction control, stabilitrak mode and basically shuts the car down. this has happened several times to me and will only clear this mode if the vehicle is turn off and sits for a while and then restarted.
Been having issues with my vehicle with stabilitak and sensors. my car starts shaking engine power is reduced to 10-15 mph. taken it to dealeship 6 different times and have been told that there is nothing wrong with it that they can figure out. almost got hit on the highway when my car abruptly went down to 15mph without any warning. car behind me had to swerve to the side to avoid impact. it doesn't matter whether i'm driving or slowing down for a red light it happens at all different times.
My vehicle only has 45,000 miles. the past few months, i have been experiencing problems with the motor as it suddenly loses potency as the vehicle is in motion. the check engine light is always on. when the motor loses potency, it puts "track control on" and "track control off" right away, as well as a sign to service "stabilitrack". i have taken the car to the mechanic and they did a computerized scan where it shows there are problems with the oxygen sensor, low air entrance, problems with the injectors, low voltage problem, brake system off, etc. in conclusion, a series of problems with the car which are not real. i have searched online and there are thousands to claims due to this same problem i am having. to this date, i have not found any recall of the manufacturer to fix this.
Today 1/08/2018 around 08:30 i was driving in the middle of the highway 287 when the car started checking, reducing power up to a complete stop. when i look up, the stabilitytrak/ service traccion control off was showing in the dashboard. i tried to turn on the car, but it won't until up to 1 hour by chance when it started again with engine reduced power. this issue have been there even though i went to the mechanic twice, where they cleaned the throtle body which apparently fixed the issue before.
Stability/traccion control errors. this error make the engine to lose power and even to put the car at complete stop. it is dangerous becvause it can happen any time even in the highway.
Vehicle has 67,000 miles and is 3 years old. while driving in residential area the car lost its traction control and reduced speed to 20mph. if this would have happened on the freeway, it would have been very dangerous including being rear ended.
While driving my 2014 chevy traverse my stability track light and engine light came on loss of power the car jerks cannot control it can cause an accident happened more than once this is november 1, 2017 that happened or five times already call today to complain to chevy my car is now the dealership trying to figure out what is wrong with it
On october 13, 2017 i was driving on the highway going 50 mph. when suddenly the car de-accelerated its velocity at 15 to 20 mph. then notice the instrument panel displaying traction control on and cycling to off. it also displayed stabilizer control service with a flashing check engine light. it was very frightened when vehicles behind me had to come to a reduce speed almost resulting in an accident with the risk of getting hit on the back or tail of the vehicle. had to pull over changing from one of the two middle lanes at slow velocity which was a dangerous maneuver to make it to the shoulder. i've read this same issue on line with other owners on this type of vehicle. therefore a recall or an investigation with this issue should be done.
Service stabilitrak, reduced engine power, traction control off warnings all came on with no warning or reason. vehicle lost all power and wouldn't move. this is a known issue with many chevy models and years.
Engine power reduced, service stabiltrak, traction control off messages appear after driving car over 30 min. engine light comes on and stays on along with stabilik track light. no codes being rpeorted when taken to dealer 2x. happened 5x in a 20 minute drive, doing 55-60mph and drops to 20 mph with hardly any steering ability. battery gauge drops below average, car idols like it is going to stall. pull over, turn key off, rest starts up again with engine light still on. very dangerous situation. cleaned throttle from any build up (hardly any) checked fuses, however did not check wiring to fuse box (may be the issue) problem has been going on since june 2017. dealer depending to much on diagnostic code reader, which it is not recording. only one was p1682 and they said it was fine
Takata recall, driving on the highwau my traction controll and check engine light came on. the powere of my engine reduced and my speed would not go faster 25mph. this is the second time this has happen but when i taken the vehicle to the dealership the first time the problem does not occur and nothing is fix.
Car randomly stalls due to stabalink and traction control in motion on highway almost having me crash into guard rail i couldn't steer the truck
When traveling to any destination utilizing city street or a highway, whether traffic is heavy or moving fast or slow, my vehicle is always being cut in front of , cut off with intent. causing me to apply brakes whether i am traveling at 35 mph , 45, 55, 60, 70, even in a school zone at 15 mph. also, i have concerns about the driver seat,
Car goes into engine power reduced mode. almost was hit twice on interstate because had no place to pull off hughway. i was in motion
Radio stays on after car is off and computer keeps saying tighten fuel cap and taction driver shuts off all sudden then check engine light comes on then resets and goes bacck to normal on its own
Purchased the vehicle in jan/2017 certified pre-owned. after about 2-3 months i would notice a lack of power when trying to accelerate. it seemed as though the vehice was trying to keep up on a 25mph street. the vehicle would also "jerk" when accelerating. and just today i got a flashing check engine light and a warning that the traction control was off, has a loss of engine power, and after about 30 seconds the warnings went away and the car began to gain acceleration.
Was driving on the intestate when car started to put and not wanna move stabilitrake and traction control lights came on check engine light flashed and would not accelerate at all with my child in car is very unsafe and keeps happening and dealership can not find anythibg wrong this is clearly a problem and needs fixed
Tl* the contact owns a 2014 chevrolet traverse. while driving 55 mph on the freeway, the vehicle started to veer to the left and right independently. the contact heard a ding noise and the vehicle felt like it would stall. in addition, the instrument panel indicators flickered and the electronic stability sensor and traction control indicator remained illuminated. the contact notified the dealer (mountain view chevrolet 1079 w foothill blvd, upland, ca 91786 909-985-2866) and was informed to bring the vehicle in for diagnostic testing. the manufacturer stated that they would notify the dealer and would call the contact back within 24 hours. the failure mileage was 80,000.
Car lost throttle control. engine remained running, but car just lost power with no throttle response. has happened several times now at different speeds. dealership cleaned throttle body and reset cpu, but it happened again the next day, turning vehicle off letting it sit for a minute does remedy the problem temporarily, but eventually happens again with no warning which could be very dangerous on the highway. date below was the last time it happened, i would have to look for the first time which was over a year ago after we had the break booster replaced under warranty. the traction control light comes on when this happens.
I bought my 2014 traverse used in february 2015 with appox 25,000 miles. had no problems until december 2016 with appox 58,000 miles. the same problem has happened 4 times between 12/28/16 and 2/9/17. each time it happened i was driving on city streets and it was a few days after it rained. i only bring up the rain because the first time i took to dealer, the service adviser immediately looked to see if i had a sunroof because he said the description of my problem was similar to a traverse sunroof problem where water was getting in the vehicle. when at a stop or reduced speed the vehicle vibrates, loss of traction control message flashes, loss of stability flashes, engine power reduce flashes and the check engine light goes on. the first 3 times this happened, my first instinct was to pull over and turn vehicle off. each time i did this it started up with no problem but the check engine light remained on. i took it to a dealer each time who could not duplicate the problem. after the 3rd time, i called gm and a case number was opened. i was advised to purchase onstar (not an acceptable solution) and told that if it happened again to drive directly to a gm dealer without shutting the vehicle off. it happened again on 2/9/17 while driving appox 25 mph in morning traffic. i drove straight to a gm dealer at a speed of 20 mph in a 50 mph zone. i felt very unsafe. on 2/14 a diagnosis was made - replace the engine computer (covered under warranty) and the under hood fuse block (not covered under warranty and a $725 repair). as of 3/1/17, i was told by my dealer's service adviser that the under hood fuse block is on a national back order and he is unsure when the part will arrive. i left a voicemail for a gm california rep that has been in contact with me since a case was opened up. i left a message after business hours but it's now 1 pm and he has not returned my call.
Service air bag warning. traction stabilitrak service and abs light are on cutting engine power to wheels. in motion highway speed.
Engine power reduced, stability track loss lights came on and my vehicles engine power came to a stop with my children in the car with my wife on the hwy. could not move the vehicle. dealership can not figure out the issue, only found multiple codes from the past and still could not solve the issue. gm needs to stand by their product and replace these vehicles asap or fix this issue. lawsuits will be filed.
Car lost power on highway due to service stabilizer message. then the dealership informed me that my power steering was leaking and needs a 2400 repair which i see is covered by service bulletin sb-10052379-9767 but they say my vin number isn't covered. *tr
This report is related to a known and widespread computer glitch in late model gm cars. the glitch seems to be triggered by other system faults when the car is in motion causing multiple failures rendering the car unable to maintain speed over 20 mph or so and also affecting the braking system. please watch this video https://youtu.be/hbvaoiixnxy and then read the comments. this has been going on for years across a variety of gm models including the 2017 traverse. it is a major safety issue as the cars become seriously incapacitated when the glitch occurs. there is no clear failure occurring and there are no faults recorded in the car's modules making it very difficult to diagnose and repair. if we didn't have the video i took to prove it was happening the dealership would have sent us away again. please watch the video, everything you need to know is in there. people continue to comment on our video because it is still happening! there is a report for a 2017 traverse in the comments section! thank you!
During a long drive thru heavy traffic the tc turned off unable or very hard to steer the wheel, the car turned off engine light came on, fortunately i was passing an exit and was able to safetly pull over. had to turn off the car for about 10 min so the engine light stays off. first time happened also in a heavy traffic same tc turned off very hard to steer engine light on, i was able to safetly park on side road whited about 10 min until finally the engine light turnered off
I was sitting at a light and heard chimes. the vehicle display showed service traction control, service stabilitrak and traction control turned off. when the light changed the vehicle would not move. there was some kind of engine loss but it did not stall out. the radio and the air were on and working fine. i tried many attempts multiple times to get the car to move but it would not move. this included putting it in park and also turning it on and off. the warnings continued to flash. then after one attempt i felt it start to move at an extremely low rate of speed. as i was turning into a parking lot i felt something catch and the vehicle started moving at a normal speed. i turned the vehicle on and off again once i was in the parking lot. the engine light appeared but the service stabilitrak and service traction control did not display again. i know for a fact the engine light was not on when i was unable to move the vehicle. i took the vehicle to the dealer and they were unable to duplicate the problem. there was nothing done to the vehicle and i was told that they have to duplicate it. i was also told this will occur again, the problem will not go away but get progressively worse over time and hopefully the next time the vehicle will not be able to start. i checked nhtsa website and there seems to be a number of complaints made for the exact same thing with many makes and models. this is a lease vehicle and i did contact gm and have a case number. i understand cars breakdown but what i don't understand is that a serious safety issues needs to be duplicated before a part can be replaced. i find it hard to believe there is not a recommended fix for this.
Tl* the contact owns a 2014 chevrolet traverse. while driving approximately 55 mph, the stabilitrac warning light suddenly flashed off and on. the vehicle suddenly shut off, causing the power steering and power brakes to stop functioning. after the incident, the vehicle could not be restarted. the vehicle was towed to the dealer, but the cause of the failure was not yet determined. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 29,000.
Our vehicle only has 15000 miles on it. i was driving ot normally in a 35 zone on a city street and my car started to shake and not accelerate. all the warning lights and bells and whistles started going off. i immediately took it into my chevy dealer to see what was wrong. after having it less than 24 hours they gave it back to me saying they saw the warning on the computer and they did nothing cause the car isn't doing it anymore. after doing research on the internet, i see it has been a problem with the traverse since 2011 models. the chevy dealership does nothing to fix this. i am terrified to drive this car with my family and have us get in an accident. i have owned this car for 1.5 years and bought it brand new. please investigate this.. someone could get hurt or killed while driving one.
Takata.
Traveling at 65+ mph the vehicle looses power, little shaking, engine light blinks and after 1/2 mile + the vehicle goes back to normal. very dangerous on the highway and we almost got rear ended. been at the dealership 2 times with no repair of the issue. filed a complaint with gm.
Was driving down the freeway all of sudden the car message center said reduce engine speed stabilink off and traction control off and the check engine light came on also..so i was doing 65 and all off sudden ithe car went to 40..almost got rear ended a and into a crash
1.- during the last quarter of 2015, the vehicle started failing, shutting down itself on road or pulled over (random fail) 2.- after several days of 'analysis', they determined that a 'module' was damaged and had to be exchanged zero cost, since the vehicle is still under warranty. 3.- after several days of the car on the workshop, the finally provide us the car again, stating that everything was properly fixed and resolved. 4.- on january 2016, vehicle shutdown surprisingly on a road at high speed. vehicle was sold in mexico and dealership has not provided satisfactory service
While driving at a speed around 25-30 mph the vehicle had multiple issues arise at once: 1.) the vehicle started shaking violently and accelerating independently with engine rpm's reaching as high as 6000. the vehicle continued this and would jump from around 2000 rpm to 6000 rpm and continue to accelerate on its own; 2.) error message, failure, and complete loss of the traction control system; 3.) error message, failure, and complete loss of the stabilitrack system; and 4.) error message and failure of the park assist system. the vehicle was pulled to the side of the road and shut off for a few minutes. when restarted the problems reoccurred and the vehicle required towing to the nearest chevrolet dealership. this is not a unique problem to one traverse. this has been a reoccurring issue with multiple documented complaints over the years and no recalls or service bulletins have been issued to address it. this is a highly dangerous problem and could cause a major accident with serious injuries or death.
I was doing about 70 on xway and car started to slow down and jerking and engine light came on and said something about traction control off and also stability control. it lasted for about 30 seconds and then was ok. i took it in and they could not find anything. now this happened again yesterday as i was getting onto the xway at about 55 mph. now 29700 miles as i take again tomorrow and see if they can find anything this time. *tr
While accelerating to 40 mph, the vehicle suddenly started vibrating followed by stability control and traction error messages, the check engine light on, a burning smell due to random braking as part of the control and an engine down power. this incident is similar to many others reported over a period of years and is unacceptable from a safety stand point when my entire family is within the vehicle. i will not accept a ridiculous explanation from the dealer. honestly, i want another vehicle. i knew chevy would be trouble. The service stabilitrac; traction control is off, park assist is off, and check engine light along with ebs warning lights all come on along with loss of power; the car won't go over 25. this has happened several times; the first time it was wet, along with happening several other times when it was wet; then it happened last week when it was completely dry as i got off the interstate in heavy traffic; with the accelerator to the floor it would only go aprox 15-20 mph, along with all the lights once again coming on. the dealer did not document the first time we took it in for this problem, the just told us they had no idea what it could be unless they could see it happening. unfortunately it resets itself usually after being turned off for a while and it does not happen on a predictable way there is no warning it just happens. the 2nd time we took it in they only documented that it was a forward & reverse problem; the only part of that that's true is that the 1st time it happened it was after i stopped then it would only go in reverse for about 20mins then it was fine the check engine light stayed on until they shut it off. the last time it happen the dealer wanted me to pay them a $95 diagnostic fee before they would even look at it. this is a safety hazard; if this problem would get fixed i love my car; but as it stands i'm afraid i'm gonna end up in an accident; i am seriously considering trading it in on a safer vehicle, even though i haven't had it quite 2 yrs yet. i have contacted chevy via the internet to express my concerns; they just took my info and the problem and said the would research what was going on; i still haven't heard from them & that was over a week ago.
Driving normally at 55 mph. car slowed to 35 mph and engine light came on, and dash read stabilitrac service needed engine power slowed. i could not go over 35 mph on freeway and very difficult to brake. *tr
