We have classified the 183 complaints from 2007 Chevrolet TrailBlazer about ELECTRICAL SYSTEM into the following categories.
The speedometer keeps malfunctioning. the speedometer needle sticks at a higher speed after decelerating or stopping, making it impossible to know what speed you are driving. this happens mostly when the weather warms up, spring/summer/fall. making a hard braking stop, like at an intersection, will sometimes cause the needle to drop back 5-10 mph, as will turning the car off and back on. most specifically, yesterday, may 31, 2019, the speedometer needle wouldn't go back down at all, and my speedometer was "pegged" past the top end of 110mph. i have researched online, and this seems to be a common and chronic issue with this model.
When driving the vehicle the headlights will just randomly go out.or at times they will go out come on and go out again..."while driving " especially at night" causing me to having to pull over..unable seeing where im pullin off the road to.after several tries of turning switch on and off..the lights return.but only for a few and then it does it all over again.this happens randomly..reported it to yhe dealership whr i purchased it...i was told they was unable..to see it.but had change the fuses..
All of sudden my tail gate will not open unless the vehicle is running and i hit the unlock button 5 or more times and then at times that doesn't work also my airbag light starting blinking and now it won't go off. i called about a recall and was told there wasn't one for this problem but on line it showed it was. my case number is 4864379595 i am going threw cancer treatments and need my vehicle please let me know if this is under recall as i can't pay right now to get it fixed.

Trouble with my ignition. sometimes will not shut off and unable to remove key. happens every time i use it.

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 chevrolet trailblazer. without warning, the low beam headlights failed to function properly. months later, the manufacturer sent an extended warranty campaign letter. the contact called the manufacturer and was informed that the vehicle exceeded the mileage limitation and they refused to repair the vehicle. a dealer had not inspected and diagnosed the vehicle. the contact was not provided with a solution from the manufacturer and was uncertain of when the vehicle would be repaired. the failure mileage was not available.
The driver side door electrical panel malfunctions and the door does not open and the window does not go down and the window lock unlocks after being locked. the rack and pinion had to be replaced twice. the car turned off while driving. the light in the back will not work no matter how many times the bulb and rack has been replaced.
With no warning, both headlights went out and no longer work. turn signals, fog lights still work.
My power window on the driver side recently quit working and i am driving around in freezing weather with the window open. i understand there was a recall #13v248000 on this issue. *tr
My low bean head lights stopped working. 2006/2007 trailblazers had a recall for the head light module. the dealership charged me for the repair. however, i'm told my car doesn't qualify for the recall. its the same make model and year.
My head lights and day time running lights will not turn on.
Driving as normal, when stopped at a stop light, rough idle to completly shutting off and throwing enine codes. this has happened multiple times and found out today that the fuse block is trashed.
Vehicle was parked for a few hours when went to start up to leave both low beam headlights/daytime running lights suddenly went out and have not come back on. fuses are good and bright lights work also low beam bulbs are good.
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 chevrolet trailblazer. the contact stated that there was an electrical short and the front passenger side low beam light failed to illuminate. the contact replaced the bulb, but the failure recurred. the second time, the front passenger and driver side low beam lights failed to illuminate. the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 15v599000 (visibility). the manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided no remedy. the approximate failure mileage was 110,000.
Recall number 14v755000 recall date 11/26/2014 component exterior lighting:headlights summary general motors llc (gm) is recalling certain model year 2006-2009 buick lacrosse, 2006-2007 buick rainier, chevrolet trailblazer, gmc envoy, 2006 chevrolet trailblazer ext, gmc envoy xl, 2006-2008 isuzu ascender, and saab 9-7x vehicles. in the affected vehicles the headlamp driver module (hdm) may overheat and fail, causing the headlamps and daytime running lights to then fail and not illuminate. 2007 trailblazer is being recalled for lighting issues. my 2007 trailblazer is experiencing same issues but i was told by gmail that mine was not one recalled
Was driving at night and another vechile beside me told me i had no lights.the low beams aren't working, the high beams are fine.i was in motion at the time.but stopped at a red light.i was on a city street, going straight.
While driving on the highway the loe beam lights flickered on and off and shut off for a couple of seconds. the driver door window switch continually malfunctions while driving and stationary windows won't roll up or down and the fuel level gauge works sometimes and other times it won't
Bad blower motor resistor. the a/c completely shuts off when switched to position "5" on fan speed. i just replaced this part about a month ago. it has been working fine since i replaced it. the same thing is happening again now. the fan shuts completely off when in position "5". this needs to be recalled. there is something wrong with the design of the electrical system. i am worried that this will eventually cause a fire from malfunctioning. yet another problem with this vehicle.
About 3 weeks ago i lost power and all dash lights were flashing. pulled to side and restarted without problem. yesterday, i had suv in for new tires and when they went to back out of the bay smoke came from the steering column. when they tried again, the ignition switch is dead, no dashboard lights. disconnected battery to prevent a fire and am towing to chevrolet dealer.
At a red light and attempted to close the driver's side electric window. when i pressed the buttom to raise the window the window stopped raising to a closed position and heard a loud noise similar to glass crumbling inside driver door. is the regulator covered under a recall. i previously had the driver's door master power window switch module replaced due to a recall. i have always had problems with the driver's side window mechanism always slowing down and stopping midway during cold temperatures.
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 chevrolet trailblazer. the contact stated that the ignition switch malfunctioned and caused all of the instrument panel lights to illuminate. in addition, the brake bell sounded without warning. the vehicle was repaired, but the issue recurred. the manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. the failure mileage was 72,000.
My truck was involved in a accident and my air bags did not deploy and my charging system goes in and out my 4wd comes on by itself and i have to turn it off while driving
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 chevrolet trailblazer. the contact stated that after the vehicle had been parked for several hours, smoked started to emit from the vehicle. the contact was able to extinguish the fire. a fire report was not filed and no injuries were reported. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that an electrical failure within the driver side door caused the vehicle to catch on fire. the vehicle was not repaired. the contact also stated that the vehicle was previously repaired under nhtsa campaign number: 15v599000 (visibility). the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and offered to buy back the vehicle. the failure mileage was 162,000.
There is time the key will keep turn engine over even when you let go of key , #2 headlamp and daytime driving lite sometimes won't won't work properly. and the last thing is my driver side master doesn't work properly when it rain.
My 2007 chevrolet trailblazer had low beam headlights not working when i turn them on. i have to drive at night with high beam lights (they work fine) and i am very annoying to other drivers. i had vehicle checked out and fuses and light bulbs appear fine. i understand this is a common occurrence. i need it fixed.
Solid state relay module for low beam - high beam headlights. when driving at night, both low beam headlights went out at the same time. was able to switch to high beams to continue home, but not without blinding other vehicles. replaced the solid state relay at a local autozone store. this relay is a single point failure, which an un-experienced driver could have had a possible accident if the person did not know what to do quickly in a calm manner.
All interior and exterior lights flash every second when engine rpm at 2000 and above. radio occasionally has noise that changes with engine rpm, also stepping on brake pedal causes clicking noise over speakers when radio is playing. service charging system warning on driver's console when temperature 80 degrees and above. flashing started after chevy dealer replaced the underhood bussed electric center (ubec) which was suppose to resolve the service charging system warning and transmission interlock solenoid failing to let truck out of park.
I parked my 2007 chevrolet trailblazer in my driveway sunday 6/21/2015. i received a call an hour later from my neighbor that my lights was still on. i always have my lights set that when you get out of the vehicle they go off automatically. tried to turn off the lights with no luck. i smelled electrical burning coming from the engine area. found the fuse box in the engine bay and noticed that the hdm module #45 was completely melted. when i took the car to the auto shop, not only did they find that the hdm module #45 was melted, it had ruined the main fuse circuit board from the heat. luckily this happened during the daylight and not at night, because i wouldn't have had headlights very long with this module being melted. also this could have easily started a fire in the engine bay with the amount of heat that was coming off of the melted hdm module. this i believe is a safety problem in the trailblazers and should be recalled.
Fuel gauge read full tank when in fact the tank was empty. i ran out of gas in my driveway. when this occurred my on dash computer went crazy lighting up then turning off, when i put gas in the car and restarted several times the computer seemed to correct itself. filling the tank the gauge read empty and remained that way for several days. the gauge operates intermittently. i recently had the fuel pump replaced after failure. the pump was replaced prior to this incident. i have scheduled the gauge repair with my dealer.
Burned to ground, fire started from under hood. *tr
I was driving my truck heading home and noticed the road looked dark. i pulled over into a parking lot and realized i had no low beams. my blinkers, fog lights and high beams all worked properly. i had to drive home with my high beams on, blinding other drivers. my headlights and daytime running lights have intermittently went out off and on (approximately 4 times) over the past year. i had the dealership look into it the last time i was there and they couldn't find a problem. when researching what could cause both lights to fail at the same time, i came across the latest recall info. i called chevy and gave them my vin and was told my vehicle is not affected by this recall. strange, since i have all the exact same problems listed in the recall and my vehicle has been affected by all of the other recalls on it so far. *tr
Vehicle would not start after a new battery was installed ( 2 months ago). driver side window slow to roll down and up. now the temperature is starting to go past the 200 mark on thermostat. *tr
Low beam headlights went out while driving at night. this is the 3rd time this has happened and it almost killed me because i was on a winding road with no street lamps. it was pitch dark. i threw on the high beams and saw that i was about to crash into the center divider. i was able to maneuver the vehicle and get it back on the road without an incident. i called gm customer assistance center and spoke with [xxx] ext [xxx] and he told me that the recall that is out for this issue does not include my vin number. i explained to him that i was experiencing the same problem that the other trailblazers are having and he told me that i would have to pay for this issue myself if i wanted it to be fixed. i need gm to know that my vehicle is having this same issue and it needs to be recalled for this issue. he also told me that your agency notifies them of when a recall needs to be addressed, not the other way around and that he would do nothing to help me. i have a wife and a son. our life is in their hands. please help me get this recall through so other families don't experience the near dead experience that we did. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr updated 4/14/16 *js
2007 chevy trailblazer the switch on the arm rest gets hot and at times does not respond when unlocking or locking. *mw
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 chevrolet trailblazer. while driving at a low speed, both outside mirrors moved independently and the seat heater stopped working. the vehicle was taken to a dealer. the technician diagnosed that the front driver side door module needed to be reset. the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. the vehicle was taken back to the dealer who diagnosed that the mirror actuators and the heated seat elements needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 92,363.
The left turn signal starter failing intermittently sometime last year. three months ago it started not working most of the time, and now it has failed working at all. i am unable to signal a left hand turn at all. quite dangerous in a large city with lots of traffic!! *tr
Inaccurate fuel level reading. in november, my fuel gauge and driver information center began to spontaneously read erratically and would not accurately show me how much gas i had. condition has rapidly progressed to where the fuel gauge almost constantly reads empty, low fuel light is illuminated and fuel level low is displayed in the dic. in researching this issue, i found service bulletin no. 10054b which states it is a premature wearing of the fuel sensor and i should have received a mailed notice from gm regarding this known issue. i have not received any such notice. there are no recalls associated with my vin and my warranty has now expired so there will not be "vehicle eligibility" for the dealer to confirm through the "applicable warranties section in the global warranty management system." this issue is bigger than publicly acknowledged by gm and needs to be a full recall, not a 50/50 shared responsibility with the customer when gm acknowledges the issue is due to a faulty part that prematurely wears and causes the malfunction. also, the entire fuel pump including the sending unit and fuel level sensor needs to be replaced, not just the fuel level sensor. *tr
My master window switch caught fire on 9/27/14. i woke up that morning to find that my window did not work while driving my daughter to school. then all of sudden there was a smell of something burning on my side of the car. i immediately stopped the car and noticed smoke coming out of the door panel. i took out the switch and it was burned. it also burned some of the material inside of the door. then all of sudden while i was sitting on the side of the road. the window started going up and down randomly with the smoke coming out of it. i took it my fathers house where he disconnected the module. the window was half down. it was 45 degrees that morning . i paid someone to put the window back up with a price of $150 due to extremely cold weather and having a 2 year old. i went to crew cheverolet to have this repaired when they said that all 2005-2007 master door switch was on recall due to electrical issues that may cause the switch to catch fire. when they looked up my vin they told me that my truck was not covered. my vehicle is a 2007 and im not sure why my vehicle is not covered. if this is a known issue, then i believe i should get a new part due to a manufacturing error. they told me i had to pay $405 for the part and programming but could not guarantee that my motor for my window was not damaged as well. i contacted gm myself and they said there is a recall on 2005-2007 chevy trailblazer but my vin was not included. i was told there was a recall for chevy trailblazer in my state just not my vehicle even though it is a 2007. my daughter and i could have been seriously injured. *tr
Headlights will not work but high beams do. driverside door control does not work either. *tr
Letter from senator cardin on behalf of constituent re gm recall. *smd 2007 chevrolet trailblazer. the consumer stated her chevrolet trailblazer, cut off in the middle of the road. she was informed, her vehicle was not included in the ignition switch recall. *jb.. updated 10/01/14 *bf
Driver window was down approximately 2 inches and would not go back up. none of the electrical parts on the driver side will work. i called the dealership that sent the recall notice to schedule an appointment. he said they would not have the recall parts to repair the problem until the fall. said they would charge 100.00 to run the diagnostics. called another chevrolet dealership and they will have to order the parts, if indeed the recall is the problem. the window went all the way down by itself, with no key in the ignition, today. there is also a very strong electrical burning smell in the car. i will have to leave the car outside, because the recall says do not park in the garage because of a fire, with the window down all night. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 chevrolet trailblazer. the contact stated that the vehicle stalled. the vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the ignition switch needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 118,000.
Re reference to recall subject : driver's master power window switch may short this also can cause the entire drivers door panel to become unusable (dead) causing the drivers door to become unlockable from the inside you have to use a key from the outside to unlock the door or climb over the console to exit the passenger side. this could be a real hazard in and accident. *tr
I had the recall for the door window master control taken care of about 9 months- 1 year ago. today, the window or door lock did not work on the driver's side. when i attempted to try the power mirror adjust, the window went down and smoke came from the door panel. i contacted gm and they told me it was pretty much tough luck because they already took care of the recall. i was told that i could take it to a gm dealer to have it fixed but i would have to pay for it. really? i'm guessing the module was bad and corroded when i took it in for the recall. the recall states that if the window works, seal the problem area and send them on their way. at the time of the recall, the window and other components did work but now the original problem is showing up. i was not allowed to watch recall work being done but obviously this problem resulted from liquid leaking in at one time and causing damage. it just took for today to show up and cause a problem. my interior stinks of burnt plastic. my window is partially down and can not be adjusted. i've read online forums consisting of the same symptoms that i experienced today with my trailblazer. if this was just a random problem or something caused from my use or negligence, i would man up and take care of this on my own... but it's not. gm used a band aid to take care of this problem and somebody will end up getting hurt or burned yet. i have a prosthetic leg and what if the door locks were locked shut and the thing started on fire? gm listened as i [xxx] about it but didn't have much to offer for a solution. i will take it to a local chevrolet dealer for their "diagnosis" on a faulty switch and workmanship. it will be interesting to hear what they have to say. i'm very disappointed in what happened today and the stench in my vehicle. i don't want anybody to get hurt but that seems to be the way anything gets solved. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr
Some times fuel gauge reads empty and some times reads full and still it may a third empty or 16 gallons full. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 chevrolet trailblazer. while driving approximately 45-50 mph, the contact adjusted the front driver seat and lost all electricity to the vehicle, including the lights, power locks, and power windows. the contact could not exit the vehicle. someone had to open the door from the outside. when the vehicle was restarted, all the electricity returned except the led lights on the steering wheel. the contact believed the failures were similar to those listed in nhtsa campaign number: 14v404000 (visibility). the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 140,000.
Vehicle stalls and shuts down everyday. sometimes just stalls then accelerates, sometimes shuts off and i can switch to neutral and restart while coasting. other times i get shutdown warning light and engine will not restart. i have to coast to the shoulder and wait. engine will then struggle to restart and engine shakes violently. i wait a few minutes and it will start and run fine, sometime with check engine light on, sometimes not. rpm gauge works sometimes, sometimes not. at time there has been no response when turning key to start. on going issue!! crankshaft position sensor has been replaced 3 times, and issue still persist. major safety issue!! *tr
It was raining and we were on our way home driving down the highway and hit a water puddle and hydroplaned of the side of the road the truck cut off and spent around hit a tree head on and the airbags didn't deploy. i was hospitalized with multiple injuries and im still suffering. *tr
I filled the vehicle up to full with gasoline. the bell chimed shortly thereafter and low fuel light, and warning came on showing low fuel. a few days later the check engine light came on. i received a notice from gm in 2013 about a possible problem with early wear of the fuel sensor causing this problem. they covered the expense of repair up to 120,000 miles. we now have 134,000 miles on this vehicle and the problem just came up, so will not be covered by gm. i have read many complaints about this problem with the trailblazer online, so i know the problem has been identified by gm. i cannot afford the repair at this time and believe gm is not recalling this fuel sensor problem as they should be doing. *tr
