2004 chevrolet trailblazer (v6). vehicle suddenly shifts itself into 4 wheel drive low gear without warning and without any action by the driver. vehicle was brought to authorized repair center and dismissed as driver error. shifting any vehicle into 4 wd low requires a definitive action by the driver of the vehicle. an action that the driver would know they performed. this is the 3rd such incident with gm vehicles my company has had. all dismissed as driver error. investigative action needs to be taken at some level. our local dealers and repair centers don't seem to be concerned. *nm

Dt: the caller said that when she would be at a light the vehicle would stall. she would hit the gas pedal and the vehicle would hesitate before taking off. engine service light came on/off. on july 25, 2005 dealer checked and reprogrammed automatic transmission control module( pcm). on july 29, 2005 dealer checked and replaced the pcm again , and on august 1, 2005 dealer replaced a 02 sensor. dealer said they could keep and drive vehicle to see if that fixed the problem . dealer would not give her a temporary vehicle to drive while she waited for her vehicle to be worked on. dealer said the 02 sensor was the problem. would not offer an extended warranty. dealer will not give her enough money for it as a trade in. *ak

The vehicle switches from 2wd to awd on its own. this causes the vehicle to klunk and buck. it almost feels like someone is hitting the vehicle fom behind. this happened several times before we figured out what the problem was. vehicle was repaired at the dealership. this was only one of twenty-one failures i have experienced with this vehicle since i purchased it in may of 2004- not to mention my severe back pain that is caused from the driver's seat. i have owned 9 vehicles, and have never witnessed such poor quality in a automobile. i am seeking a buy-back from gm.*ak

Purchased new trailblazer in may 04. when vehicle had approximately 3,000 miles on it, i started getting a rattle or loud buzz when accelerating at approximately 25 per hours just before the vehicle shifts. occasionally, the shift if jerky. the vehicle has to be warm and the rattle or buzz first manifested itself after i turned right and accelerated from a stop. when warm, this sound is repeated almost every time i turn right and accelerate. when warm is also occurs when i just accelerate from a full stop. occasionally, it will also occur after a tight left turn. i reported it to the dealer and they told me the computer did not show anything wrong. on the second trip to the dealer i reported it again. still no fix. the noise is very annoying, but i cannot tell that it is doing damage. i certainly would not have bought this vehicle if it made this noise on the road test. i am estimating the rattle or buzz sound has occurred at least 75 time to date. *nm

When attempting to shift gears the gear shift box locked. as a result, vehicle rolled down the driveway. crashing into a mail box. *ak

The check engine light and the reduced engine power light came on the first time and the truck had no acceleration. there was a code recorded when service was performed and pcm was reprogrammed. the next 3 times the check engine light came on and the truck would only accelerate if the rpm's reved up to 2, then the truck would move very slowly. the problem they found this time was a faulty ingition switch (2 times) a program upgrade of the motherboard of the truck, and the tork converter clutch module. windshield wiper blades stopped working during a snow/rain storm.*ak

When accelerating from a stop drive train hesitates and engine comes to a near stall, and then accelerates. this does not occur on every start, randomly. took vehicle into dealer who stated that it was normal for the type of drive train . then the dealer reprogrammed the vehicle. after one day of driving the problem has begun again. this hesitation is very dangerous crossing traffic and in intersections.*ak

The vehicle operated normally until part failure. transmission pressure cooling line connector not in place properly, caused automatic transmission fluid to spray on hot exhuast manifold, starting a major engine fire.the vehicle was inspected by general motors adjuster, and considered a total loss.no repairs were attempted. *ak

Car has a vibration when the speed is held constant. been to the dealer twice, they found that all for tires were out of balance. problem still there, gave one tech ride because they could not replicate, he said it was unusal but he was front end guy, second tech and service manager said it was normal, not sure if they were able to replicate. was told to bring it back when problem got worse or broke. *ak

On 4 separate occasions vehicle stalled. when this occurred consumer tried to restart vehicle, but it wouldn't restart. also, keys were stuck in the ignition. as a result, battery was drained. dealership has replaced automatic transmission shift lock control, battery fuses , programmed the calibration for the engine control module, the starter, and its relay switch. *ak
