We have classified the 5 complaints from 2003 Chevrolet TrailBlazer about FUEL SYSTEM, OTHER into the following categories.
Speedometer stopped working. after vehicle was turned off it started working again. researched internet and i found the this is a known problem with this vehicle. after talking to someone about it and they have a 2003 tahoe they have the same problem. if chevorlet is aware of this problem something should be done about it. we spend alot of money on vehicles and this should not happen. i don't feel this is a wear and tear issue. *kb
2003 trailblazer lt. check engine light came on and stayed on for about a 3 weeks. brought vehicle to service at dealership, was told that i needed to replace my fuel tank because there was a leak in my fuel tank and it should be replaced. cost would be about $1100.00. i have also replaced my kick panel at least 6 times. everytime i have to come out of pocket for something that is poorly made by the manufacture. i know others are experiencing this same problem. please look into this situation for us, we need your help. i drive my vehicle everyday and only have about 63,000 miles, my vehicle is like new and i am the only driver. *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2003 chevrolet trailblazer. while driving approximately 10 to 15 mph, the driver traveled over a railroad track and the engine stalled unexpectedly. there were no warning light indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. the contact made several unsuccessful attempts to restart the engine and observed that the "empty fuel" indicator was displayed on the fuel gauge. when the engine restarted, the fuel gauge displayed the accurate reading. the vehicle was able to resume normal operation. the contact has concerns of the significant safety risk. the vin was rejected from the system. the failure mileage was 71,200. the current mileage was 71,220.
2003 chevrolet trailblazer. fuel sensor has gone out. the failure was not caused by anything done by the consumer. my fuel gauge constantly reads empty and is no accurate. i talked with the dealership, and even though other vehicles with the same equipment have had recalls issued, they have not issued one for the trailblazer. i know several people who have the exact same problems with their trailblazers (2003 - 2006 models) and it costs approximately $800 to get it fixed at the dealership. *tr
I have a 2003 trailblazer, where the fill spout is on the gas tank, is broke, by talking and checking on the web, there are a lot of people with the same problem, chevrolet said,"i hate it for you that i don't live in a high corrosion area", but they have sent a special bulletin for the defect they will not fix it because of where i live. this is dangerous for alot of reasons, fuel leaks for 1 the only remedy is 1,500.00. *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2003 chevrolet trailblazer. while driving 25 mph, the fuel gauge needle moved to full. upon filling the vehicle with fuel, the gauge remained full for the rest of that day. the following day, when the vehicle was started, the needle went around in a circle (counter clockwise) beyond the full mark. the failure has continued for the past six months. the contact read that the failure was due to a sensor in the gas tank, but has not taken the vehicle to the dealer or a mechanic. the manufacturer has not been notified. the current mileage was 90,300 and failure mileage was 85,000.
Fuel gauge on 2003 chevy trailblazer does not work. this is a safety hazard. vehicles running out of fuel can be a safety hazard with people walking on highways to get gas and people getting stranded. *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2003 chevrolet trailblazer. while driving 25 mph, the contact noticed that the fuel gauge was not registering the correct amount of fuel. occasionally, the gauge would indicate that no fuel was present in the vehicle at all. the vehicle was not inspected and no repairs were made at that time. one year later, the temperature gauge, actuator on the air conditioning/heating system, and the speedometer failed. the vehicle was taken to the dealer and they confirmed that the actuator failed. the vehicle was repaired at the cost of $720. the manufacturer stated that no compensation would be provided because the failure was not under recall. the failure mileage was 30,000 and current mileage was 44,000. updated 4/23/09 *cn updated 04/28/09. *jb

Chevrolet 2003 trailblazer: noticed a large puddle in driveway, which was gasoline. started suv up and the gas just poured out of the vehicle. i was afraid to drive it, but knew i had to do something. i drove it to the nearest repair station, wherein, after inspection it was found to be rotted supply and return lines on fuel pump module. the repair station removed the remaining fuel from the fuel tank; replaced fuel pump module; reinstalled fuel tank; reinstalled fuel. at a total cost of $778.14 used. i am a gm retiree after 33 years of service, and would like to be reimbursed for said amount of money. thank you for your consideration in this expensive matter. *ak
When fueling my 2003 chevy trail blazer, gas has overflowed a minimum of (4) times since november of 2003 (when i purchased the vehicle). two of those times gas sprayed back onto my hand. i had the vehicle into the dealer in late november 2003. they said that chevrolet knows about the problem, is working on it, and will issue a recall when they have a solution. *ak
Owned 03 trailblazer for 4 months and has given me electrical & mechanical problems. i had one problem since i first bought this vehicle and now i have 13 things that are a danger to me and my family. ac turns on by itself whether car is off or on. ac has turned on while i was driving frightening the hell out of me causing me to almost lose control of the wheel. ac ,engine lacks horse power, hand brake, hazard lights, lights turn off, mirrors move by themselves, car boggs as if it wants to turn off, while driving steering wheel moves by itself, gas gauge has read low fuel when gas is full. i am terrified the car will give out with my child and i in it.i have tried to have vehicle repaired numerous times and still dealer can't seem to duplicate the problem. the vehicle is a hazard to me and my family and to all those who own one. need the problem to be fixed before any tragedies occur. *ak
