Since purchasing my vehicle in 2016 i have had multiple issues. i have always noticed a drip of oil in my garage that wasn't consistent and when telling my dealership about it they stated they would look into it and found nothing. i was driving down the road and the side door black fascia flew off, the dealership replaced 3 stating it was still under the 34k warranty. i had requested they replace/secure the 4th and was told it was fine and didn't need replacing. i returned for an oil change about 6 months later and reported the one that was not replaced is now loose and was told by the dealership i was out of my warranty period and would be charged an hour labor as well as parts, costing roughly $120.00. i then had my ac go out in summer of 2019 and had that replaced supposedly a recall. when i took my car to the dealership for an oil change in fall 2019 i mentioned my car was not stopping properly while braking and they informed me there was a current recall that would fix the issue and that was performed. i was still noticing the braking issues. in nov.2019 i started to experience misfiring with the transmission and not shifting correctly. i made an appointment with the dealership and on the way to the dealership it worsened and i had to get it towed. i was informed i would not get a loaner car as all of theirs were out to people with parts required without an eta from gm. i was called 4 days later as i had not heard back and was told my car needed a replacement transmission as well as a new vacuum pump as this had failed and is the reason for the hard braking. the transmission was replaced and i was told to pick up my vehicle because the vacuum pump is on back-order without an eta and "i still have my abs that will assist with stopping".
My vehicle randomly shuts off while driving, backing up, snd parking. when this happens all power is lost and unable to have caution lights on and turn back on for at least an hour. dealership is unable to duplicate but when i drive the vehicle home it shuts off.
Alarm will go out sometimes
Onstar antenna, gps, microphone failure
Air conditioner stopped working. it is only blowing hot air.
The a/c compressor failed from a melted clutch. i took my tahoe in for a alignment and the a/c was working fine 2 days later i had to take the tahoe back to the dealer because the alignment felt off. the dealership checked the alignment and didn't find anything wrong with it. i picked up the car and noticed the a/c was no longer working. i took the tahoe to another dealership to have it looked at because the previous dealership assured me they didn't cause the issue even though it happened right after i picked up the tahoe, and the a/c was working when i brought the tahoe into the first dealer ship to have the alignment checked again. our tahoe only has 50k miles and this issues should not be happening. i have read online and there has been many a/c issues with these model year tahoe and gm even issues and extended warranty on certain issues with a/c, but there have been many complaints similar to mine and gm has yet to address them
First off, my dome lights. they flicker on and off every time i hit my breaks or every time i turn my left blinker on. secondly, my air conditioner! i live in a very hot and humid state. i have already fixed the a/c in my tahoe once at the beginning of the summer. now i am having the exact same issue as i was then.
The ac condensor went out. i've researched and found hundreds of other 2015 tahoe owners with the same problem. gm knows they have a faulty condensor but refuses to do anything about it.
I initially noticed difficulty with braking while backing out of a parking space at a very low rate of speed. the brake pedal became hard and the vehicle continued to roll backward, with full weight on the brake pedal. approximately one month later i was in bumper-to-bumper, stop-and-go traffic and the brake pedal again hard and the vehicle continued to roll forward. this issue did not occur during normal driving conditions, only at low rates of speed and with frequent, repetive stopping. i took the vehicle to a local chevrolet service department and they were unable to replicate the issue or identify the problem with diagnostic equipment. i was told by the service manager the problem was likely due to 'over use' of the brakes and the brake is designed to be 'pumped' rather than compressed for more than a few seconds. i took the vehehicle to a second chevrolet dealership. the service department replaced the brake booster vacuum pump and this seems have resolved the issue. i was unable to drive my vehicle for approximately 2 months due to fear the brakes would fail. the vehicle has 54,000 miles and was purchased new from a dealership.
Having issues with braking. occasionally at high speeds, but more often during lower speeds. the brake pedal becomes very hard to depress and meanwhile the vehicle is still moving, not allowing you to stop. happens also going in reverse. had a collision, hit the rear end of another vehicle yesterday morning during rush hour, 3/18/2019. i was slowing down to 15 mph, due to a red light, but brake pedal would not brake, becoming very stiff, making it impossible to brake, and stopped due to the collision. luckily no one was hurt. front body severe damage to my tahoe. police report has been filed. we bought this tahoe in fall of 2017, and february 2017, took into the dealership due to the braking issues, nothing was found or done to the brake system. tahoe is back at dealership as of today, and nothing has been found, according to chevy techs
My ac condenser is cracked and leaking freon and is not blowing cool air. i've read multiple thousands of complaints about the same problem on this model tahoe and am wondering why there isn't a recall when so many are having the same problems with the condenser. now i'm having to fork out $1200 to fix it on a newer model tahoe with low miles and it's rediculous when so many people are reporting the same thing! please give it a recall!
While driving 10mph or less the vehicle will not stop the brakes are very are and stuff will not allow you to stop nor while reversing! i've almost hit someone walking and someone car! i ran into our industrial fan in our garage because i couldn't stop. we almost lost our lives twice while my 7 year old daughter was in there becywe couldn't break. i've called dealerships and gm bout problems and they stated that they've had several complaints about it but it's not recall and that can not reimburse me especially if i ket a third party fix it. i'm unemployed and pay a note on this vehicle. i've had problems since i purchased it brand new! also the rear camera never work it barely work it's a very small one the dealership said they will install the regular one in that every tahoe has because mine has a defect and it's not the touchscreen that all tables have and no parts for this one but gm wouldn't agree with it they've done everything to the back up camera and it keep going in and out and has to have updated my link radio. that's dangerous. as well as the brake cable keep slipping and causing major sqeaking when going over bumps speed bumps and etc. and the motor mounts still not fixed i've taking it several times about the major shake and vibration from it while at lights or still and they've changed them out shaved them down still no help so they were still waiting on gm to come out with a part to fix it. my warranty has expired now this all needs to be fixed and replaced i have a daughter and we are scared that something will happen. the brake issue had been going on for a year and eventually it gotten worse and couldn't stop at all. brake pump and vacuum pump. what does it take for us to loose our lives for it to be fixed. i've had someone to fix the brake issues and it cost a lot and gm will not reimburse me please help i have proof and receipts of everything.
At low speeds my brake pedal would get extremely hard to push down causing the car to be difficult to stop. after turning off the vehicle and turning it back on it seemed fine. a few weeks went by with no issues and then it returned when backing out of my driveway. turned the vehicle off and on and it seemed to be working fine. another 3 days passes and then brake pedal gets hard and can barely stop the car causing a close collision. the service brake assist light comes on and the brakes are extremely difficult to push to make the car stop. drove the vehicle home carefully due to needing to step on the brakes extremely hard. replaced the brake booster and still not working. replaced the vacuum pump and line to fix the issue. this caused many close calls as the first time i was backing into a parking spot and almost hit the wall. the other times i was driving through a drive through almost hit the car in front of me and driving through a neighborhood towing and almost hit the car in front of me at the stop sign.
2015 chevrolet tahoe was parked on moderately sloped driveway. engine was not running. vehicle transmission shifter was in "park" position. vehicle spontaneously rolled back several feet, and crashed into another parked vehicle. other vehicle also owned by me. substantial damage to both vehicles. not influenced by driver. after some research it is my belief the apparent problem with the transmission/software. i did find where there was a recall #14192 for this issue.
Failure of a/c system with less than 60,000 mi. i didn't use the warranty because it happened during winter. i thought it just needed a recharge but it still doesn't work. seems like a compressor. pretty unsafe in the summer and i have read of lots of failures and repairs with the same defective parts.
While driving on the interstate, the air conditioner stopped cooling and started blowing hot air. the interior lights started flashing like a strobe light. i have scheduled an appointment with the service department where the vehicle was purchased. the current mileage is 44,790
The air conditioning condenser needs replaced on a 3 year old vehicle. it will cost me $1,000 and this is a known gm problem. i just had to replace the struts on it and that was over $1,300.
I have a 2015 chevrolet tahoe, i took to the dealership for a recall, ask if there was anymore, i was told no! now my a/c is blowing hot air. i went to dealership to get freon, i was then told my a/c condenser was cracked. when i ask about recall i was told "no it is a special coverage that you have to ask for?? now my tahoe has 60,195 and i was informed it was to late to get help with.. how does that work, i have not been notified my tahoe has anything wrong with it but i have to bring it to your attention first?? please help me understand this. i spent 52 thousand dollars on this vehicle and i have to tell you what is wrong you can't tell me?? i live in mississippi where it is very hot and humid and this tahoe is unsafe to drive in these conditions. i will never purchase another one and i have purchased 5 prior to now. please explain this to me
Suspension seized (became violently unstable when going over the slightest of bumps) first year, took car back to dealer three times until finally diagnosed and fixed, power lock on rear driver side door does not lock/unlock every time since first year purchased and at 40,000 ac stopped cooling. this vehicle has been trouble from the beginning!
Air conditioner stopped working at 45,000 miles on 2015 chevrolet tahoe. the dealership recharged the a/c unit and refilled the freon. i paid $200 and after 3 days the air conditioner stopped working again. i have to take it back for a second repair. this should be a recall the hvac should not stop working after 45,000 miles
I have purchased this car with certified warranty. while driving the vehicle, the rudder became rigid; the crane took him to the dealer, there they changed a computer, that was march 20. then march 27 return with air conditioning problems, today he continues in the workshop.
Took my vehicle to the dealership because the onstar light would switch between green and red, and my compass no longer works. was told at the dealership that my high-frequency antenna was out due to outside water intrusion (ex. rain, snow, carwashes...) when you go online there are pages and pages of people with the same problem. with this problem your onstar, navigation, compass, and xm radio may have problems. my safety concern with this is the fact that people pay for onstar services and with the gm defect which was acknowledged with certain vin numbers but not all having the same issue is that if i am in an accident or an area where cell service is not available i will not be able to receive the help i need for services i am paying for due to an issue in manufacturing. gm issued a customer satisfaction program where they fixed this issues in vins they found to be affected; i believe they should be repairing all vehicles that are having the same exact issue. as of now, onstar cannot locate my vehicle and if i were in danger they would not able to respond to me nor my family.
I been having my truck for 2 years and brakes keep going out and the air condition keeps going out. i have two friends the same vehicle with the same problems. this is ridiculous i see no recalls on that. and i've seen on the reviews of this vehicle and its not just me there's people out there with the same problem that i am having. this could cause a really bad accident the brakes keep going out i am not the only one with this problem. please take in consideration that everyone has families. and accidents could cause us to lose our family just for a simple brakes that have not been recalled. and also, we just cannot keep affording to fix the air conditioning this truck is not even old enough to be giving us these problem. thank you
Seal around fin antenna leaks. comes down by visor down side panel into driver seat. vehicle was sitting still at the time. we had a rain event.
I own a 2015 chevy tahoe lt 2wd. i noticed the ac was not blowing as cool as it normally does, then i started to notice a loud hissing noise in the cabin whenever the ac was turned on. took the suv to the dealership and was told the condenser had a pin hole leak and it couldn't be repaired, the whole condenser had to be replaced. i was quoted over 1k for the repair because of the difficulty in accessing the part in the engine bay. i was told the whole front bumper and the front side body panel had to be removed in order to replace the condenser. i looked the oem part up online and it had a price of $140-$210. the suv just passed 50,000 miles, no accidents or other previous issues.
A/c condensor: crack in condenser that caused refrigerant to leak out. a/c stopped cooling and was making a hissing sound when on. had to have entire condenser replaced because leak was in a location that could not be repaired. i know this is a common problem and has been recalled on some vin's for the very same make, model, etc., but my particular vin has not received the recall notice.
Wind buffering inside cabin at speeds between 30-45mph. this is accruing with all 4 windows up. feels like a booming sensation this is causing major health issues, ear pressure, dizziness, nasusa.
My wife's 2015 tahoe hydroplaned slid backwards into the median, hit a guard rail and rolled 3 times. all side curtain airbags deployed but not the front airbags. this was on 8/4/2017. then 2 weeks later we received a recall letter for the sdm software which controls the frontal airbags and seatbelt pretensioners.
My a/c condenser went out on july 21, 2017 while i was driving it. my 2015 tahoe ltz only has 21,000 miles on it. it's covered under warranty, but i've been given no estimate on the part delivery. driving a courtesy vehicle, chevy malibu, for the foreseeable future. this should be a recall. i was told by gm that this is not a widespread issue. i've read otherwise.
There is a known problem with the a/c condenser in the chevrolet tahoe 2015. the ac will just stop working and blow hot air. they have had this problem with a leaking condenser for quite some time but have not issued a recall. the wait to get the part is 8-12 weeks which makes the cars unusable in the summer months. the cost for repair is $1200. they know this is a problem yet they continue to sell their used tahoes with these faulty condensers. i believe is this is fraudulent. i am still waiting to get mine fixed. they redesigned the part to fix the problem but the backlog is so long and they are using them to manufacturer their new cars versus servicing their existing client base. if you google it, you will find crazy stories of people trying to get this problem fixed for months and dealing with no ac in states with high temperatures such as texas and nevada. i believe they use these in their 2015 silverados and 2015 suburbans. calls to corporate chevy did nothing to help. he just told me he handles these calls all day long for ac issues. i would happily join a class action law suit to push them to do the right thing.
My a/c condenser stopped working on 07/03/2017. i took my truck in to the dealer where i leased the truck, auto nation of pembroke pines, fl. i was promised the part will be in 3-7 days, it is now 3 weeks, i have spoken to upper level management and i called the manufacture gm. i must say, customer service has been pissed poor. i never received a call from senior management at gm. i was told by my senior advisor at the dealer that the condenser was shipped but it is only available to law enforcement officers. this is a truck i only had for two years. i just found out the 2015 tahoe is the worse model year with complaints. i am very disappointed with gm.
2015 chevy tahoe ltz: condenser and compressor went out stopping any cool or cold air flow in middle of a june. must order parts directly from gmc. parts estimate $3,500+ labor estimate $780. what's wrong with this picture? it's a leased vehicle. chevrolet won't cover. same 2015 chevy tahoe- at 111k, 4,5,and 6 gear failed. transmission failed going up hill with my 2 year old in the vehicle! chevy only covered a portion leaving me a $2k bill in april 2017. june 2016- i had taken my tahoe (leased) only to one dealership when needing any maintenance. my records show i started complaining about sunroof bellows at 20k miles and the appliqus on both driver and passenger side doors. june @68k miles i had to replace sunroof, dvd player, bellows, and internal wiring. also, drivers side strut. i spent over 2k on my tahoe, only to notice the dvd player is not working.... again.
Re:ac condenser. im waiting now 5 weeks and still no part due to a national back order of this faulty condenser. ac stopped working on a road trip with my kids and dog last month and i need to get home. it's unsafe to drive in 120 degree weather. the dealer told me a few weeks ago 50k people were waiting for a replacement. the specific part is faulty and gm needs to be held accountable.
Ac condenser has a hole in it....stopped blowing cool air when i went out to lunch..no warning that anything was wrong.....no condensers to be had by dealership and our regular mechanic can't get one either because gm is purchasing all of them as fast as they are put on the shelf. back order problem and a nation wide known issue by gm.....and we were told it was not a recall or a warranty covered item. not cool......we live in texas.....90 plus degress right now. part can be welded but don't know if that fix will last....this should have been a recall issue if a nation wide problem and known problem.
Stabilitrak comes on and locks the steering while driving. it has happened approx. 4 times and the dealership doesn't know why, nor have they resolved the problem. water keeps getting in the vehicle and the dealership can't figure out where it's coming from either. they have tried 6 times
A/c condenser. the a/c in my 2015 chevy tahoe has gone out twice is the past two-and-a-half weeks. the first time they found that the freon was gone. they checked and could not locate any leaks. the recharged the system and replaced freon, adding dye to the system to identify future leaks. two-and-a-half weeks later, my freon was completely gone again and the dye revealed that the leak was due to a faulty a/c condenser. the internet is full of thousands of complaints regarding this same issue on this same year, make and model of vehicle, but gm\chevrolet refuses to issue a recall to rectify the problem. the part is on a nationwide backorder, and even my local chevy dealership cannot get the part. they can't even give me an estimate on when the part will be available. others are reporting wait times in excess of 60 days to secure a replacement a/c condenser. i cannot drive my vehicle until my a/c functions, given the extreme high temperatures in my area. when so many people are having this problem that you can't even get a part to fix it, this seems like an issue widespread enough to justify a manufacturer recall. my dealer has looked for oem, after-market, used, and rebuilt a/c condensers nationwide, and can't locate a single one to repair my vehicle. others online are reporting the same. force chevy to issue a recall and fix this situation!
I own a 2015 tahoe and live in the pacific nw (ac used three months out the year, maybe). eight months ago (end of last year warm season) the ac stopped working, of course it is out of warranty paid over $850 at local chevy dealer to put in new condenser. go to use ac for first time this season and it stops working, same thing. take it to same dealer and i am told that now the compressor is leaking at a tune of $960!! this is absolutely craziness, the ac is a new vehicle should not be going bad. no accidents or any reason this is happening. i bought chevy believing i was buying quality. i have kids in sports and drive a lot so it is important to be safe and comfortable. i am a single mom and i have never had trouble like this with a new car. checking with three different dealers/automotive ac repair companies i was told by all three that this should not be occurring in my very new and expensive vehicle and that it is likely the condenser was not bad in the first place and was the compressor all along and once refilled with freon it worked for a bit but now leaked out again and i am asked to pay the labor all over again. very very unhappy customer and feeling like chevy is not a good product, never any issues like this with honda or toyota i have owned- normal stuff and if accident or mechanical stuff, brakes, yes all that happens, but ac in a newer vehicle-2 xs in less than 1 year, no! #takenforaridebychevy #faultyproduct #chevydisspointing
Air conditioner has been messing up for a long time now. i bought it new and it's been a recurring issue. it finally stopped working completely. of course i'm right past my warranty. it's been in the shop for five days now. they called today and said it's fixed. we got in and boom, still not working.
I was informed that the air condenser is a faulty part and is not working on my vehicle. also, gm has knowledge of this issue, for it is a known issue with chevrolet tahoe. the part to fix this problem is on back order, and there are no parts in production, for they have not come up with a remedy to replace the faulty part. therefore, i do not have air conditioning within my vehicle. thus, causing a safety issue, for it is 90 degrees where i live, and i have infant twins that are transported with my vehicle.
Ac went out in mid-may. dealership states it's a condenser issue. national back order because so many have had same issues. bad weld on part and oem is now out of business. been waiting for almost 2 months for part to come in. vehicle out of warranty, gm recognizes issue with part but will not issue recall. i drive a ton for work (in a suit) and have my 3 year old son riding at all other times. gm will not offer courtesy vehicle and wants to stick me with $1200 bill. they know there's a problem and will do nothing about it.
A/c condenser failed on a 2 year old chevrolet tahoe. part is on national backorder as so many people are having the issue. i was told 1-2 weeks for them to get the part but it has now been 2 months with no eta available. heat index has now reached 105-110 multiple days in houston and is dangerous to drive the vehicle with no a/c in this condition. chevrolet customer care has been contacted multiple times and will not provide rental car, compensation, or any solution to the issue and stated that i am not the only one with the problem.

A/c rear went out. $1100 to replace. decided to disconnect rear a/c (cost $498) until a recall could be established and attend to common problem with 2015-2016 tahoes. chicago (nbc channel 5) news ran an investigatory news story on a nation-wide problem with a/c on gm 2015-2016 tahoes. gm was contacted and agreed to look into "complaint" no recall yet....?!
The ac condenser has a leak and there is no option for a replacement condenser as they are on national backorder with no eta and could take up to 120 days to get a replacement part. so gm expects my family of 5 which includes 3 kids under the age of 8 to drive a vehicle for an entire summer in south carolina with no ac.
In start of summer 2015 at ac quit working put freon now in hot days it takes 15 to 20 min before it blows cold air
Purchased 2015 chevy tahoe ltz new, 3 years ago. air conditioning not working and told it needs a condenser. part is on back order with no delivery date available due to the high number of 2015 tahoes that are waiting for this part. went online to see if anyone else is having this problem with the same make/model/year and the number is astonishing. this was a brand new model and first year offered from chevy so there is obviously a manufacturing issue. car warranty is expired and was told part would be over $2000!
Our tahoes automatic liftgate stopped working. took it to dealership and had it checked. their records showed there had been a recall and that they had already repaired the strut. they did a diagnostic and said it wasn't the strut/ actuator . he said it was the module and that it needed replaced with an estimate of $750. we ordered the module and put it in and it didn't fix it. after replacing that the technician said it was the motor/lock not showing any power, so we ordered that and it didn't fix the problem either. last we replaced the strut/actuator and it fixed the problem. the dealer won't admit any wrongdoing but we don't feel that a recalled problem should have cost us anything.
Air conditioning does not work with only 37000 miles and interior lights flash every time i touch the brake pedal or turn signal.
The sunroof exploded for no known reason. no impact of anything.
I purchased my vehicle used on oct 14 2016. i drove it for about 3 weeks in local traffic with speeds 60mph and below with no issues. i then went on a road trip on nov 7 2016 where i used major interstates that required speeds between 70-75 mph. as soon as i hit the major interstates i noticed something was not right. when the vehicle was set to cruise between 70-75mph and the vehicle reduced from v8 mode to v4 mode the interior of the vehicle began to vigorously shake. the handling and wheel to pavement contact felt stable so i continued my 600 mile trip. at times the shaking conditions made me feel dizzy and somewhat nauseous. i immediately upon arrival at my destination scheduled an appointment at a certified chevy dealer and was seen nov 14 2016. they test drove the vehicle for about 22 miles and were able to duplicate my problem, however through troubleshooting and inspection could not find anything wrong. i called the number in the warranty manual and started a claim and their resolution was the vehicle was operating as designed, but the gm advisor did say there was a known issue? however they could not tell me why the design made the vehicle do this . to me it sounds like it is a flaw in the design and gm does not know why yet. through further research i found multiple post and discussions with the same complaint as well as a fox news report where gm spokesman tom wilkinson stated gm knows there is a problem and gm would work with customers case by case to resolve the problem. in my case the resolution was to tell me thats what it was designed to shake. i certainly dont believe what they are telling me . after serving this country in two different combat zones to protect our freedoms its disappointing to know that gm wont stand behind their product as i have stood at the front for this country.l can provide video and dealer service documents upon request.
