Dashboard is cracking around the airbag and on top of the odometer/ speed and is a safety issue if passenger side airbag goes off. potential for it to shoot plastic shrapnel into cabin and it's occupants. i have children and i feel unsecured riding my truck.
Have two area on my,dash board where. cracks are located, running from the steering to the passage side. never use any cleaning products, just a damp towel.
Dash has cracked in multiple places. first crack is on right side of dash, top left of the air bag panel. second crack is on left side of dash over the instrument panel. most people don't think about a cracked dash being dangerous. however, if the airbags are deployed, fragments could become projectiles that can harm passengers. chevrolet/gm needs to make this right.

Cracking dashboard. this has happened over time and cannot be attributed to the speed, direction, or orientation of the vehicle. i feel this can be a safety issue inhibiting the safe deployment of the airbags.

The front dash board is cracked, it happened in 2014, there was a crack across from top to bottom on the driver side, i did not contacted the company because it was out of warranty already but just a few months ago another crack appeared in the passenger side across from where the air bags deploy, this got me concerned for safety reasons, i started reading more and found out that this is a common issue with most chevrolet trucks/suv's. action needs to be taken from gmc to correct this issue and replace cracked dashboards.
A crack started to form on the dashboard above the upper left corner of the passenger airbag. the crack has spread and has caused pressure and strain on other parts of the dashboard leading to major cracks in the plastic all the way from the passenger airbag to the drivers side dash 'hump' above the steering wheel. this has been identified as a very common problem/defect with the chevy tahoe model from 2007-2011. the cracks are a safety concern since they are starting from and are surrounding the airbags. any deployment of the airbags are at risk of malfunction as well as possibly causing damage to passengers due to the cracked pieces potential of breaking off and being hurled at passengers upon impact/deployment. gm should recall these models and fix the safety issue.
Dash has cracked to the point if the air bags came out it would be very harmful with all the plastic pieces flying everywhere! didn't get the recall notice. this needs to be fixed since it is the manufacturer using inferior materials.

We own two chevy tahoe's and both of them (2008 & 2012) have cracking dashboards. i am concerned with the safety of the airbags. there are many complaints online regarding this issue and is a hazards to drivers and passengers.

Dashboard has cracked adjacent to corner of passenger side airbag panel and along top of driver side instrument cluster panel. cracked dash continues to expand. the cracked dashboard is a safety concern in that shards of the plastic may break off during an accident and/or during deployment of the airbags, impaling the passengers. the sad part of this is that i had to replace all the exterior door handles also because they all broke off from the cheap plastic clip that holds the handle in place - no recall on that either. this is inexcusable when you look at the cost of the ltz vehicles. both of these defects are safety issues - mishandling of aibags when deployed and someone able to enter your vehicle through a broken handle!!!!!!!
My dash developed one crack, than two, then three, with no impact or obvious reason. i eventually took it to a dealership. i was told by the advisor that this was not uncommon. they split the repair cost with me, but i have since discovered this was far more wide spread than originally thought. it is obviously a faulty part.
Dashboard is cracked in multiple locations. notably around the airbag. dashboard was replaced once at my expense and cracked again 2 years later.
The dash has multiple cracks, exposing the air bag compartment. the plastic/foil outer coating on the door handles are cracked and peeling and have cut people's hands.
While driving 65mph on the interstate in very good driving conditions, i heard a loud pop and realized that my dash had cracked. the crack originally stretched 6-7 inches from the edge of the dash close to the windshield above the gauge cluster toward the driver. the crack continues to lengthen and my concern is this presents a safety hazard that increases as the crack gets longer. another crack is forming where the airbag is located which will present a considerable hazard in the event of an airbag deployment as any shards of plastic could become potential projectiles that may cause serious harm to myself or a passenger. i have been a lifelong loyal gm customer and i disappointed with the performance of this component. i brought this concern to the attention of the local dealership and they will not address the obvious failure of the dashboard.

Dashboard is severely cracking above and around airbags putting passengers in harms way. this is a manufacturer defect as tens of thousands of owners have reported but gm has failed to recognize as of yet. please please get someone to look into this as it is a major concern. i'd love to continue to buy american products but my faith in their quality is waning!
Dash has 2 large cracks above the instrument panel and another one at the passenger airbag. during operation, stabilitrak light comes on, all gauges go to zero, doors begin locking/unlocking, vehicle loses power, radio goes out and clock resets, lights flash, and battery dies as soon as ignition is turned off. numerous calls to gm and visits to dealership. no fix as of yet. this has been going on for years. now odometer has reset to zero.

The dash of my tahoe has numerous cracks around the airbag, vents, and the instrument panel. also the tire pressure sensor has been replaced numerous times and still causes the indicator to light up becuase the sensor failed.

Is this car a total loss vehicle? carfax says it is, and it happened in 2011. there was a total loss reported by an insurance company?
latches/locks/linkages complaint. three of the four door locks cannot be automatically opened or closed either from the inside or outside of the suv . could pose a safety problem if trapped inside of the car. estimated cost to repair $180.00 per door.
Door locks failed to work with key remote as well as buttons on the doors. ended up paying $560.00 to have locks and latches replaced.
My dashboard started cracking when my tahoe had approximately 40,000 miles, went to the dealership in monterey park ca, and they did not want to do anything. at 60,000 miles another crack appeared and i sent an email to gm, they said it was not a safety issue, they offer to pay only part of the repair. why pay to have it replaced if it is more than obvious that they made a big design error or perhaps materials used are super low quality. i know i'm not the only customer with this issue, and the cracks keep appearing and growing.
My dashboard is cracking and it's a big problem in gmc vehicles and this has been reported by numerous people nationwide. this is a manufacturer problem and they should fix it. they say they are not responsible for it and that is not right. my vehicle started cracking like right after a year and that is ridiculous. the cracks are all over my dashboard.
I purchased vehicle in 2009 from ross downing chevrolet dash board was cracked in three places.was told nothing could be done except to replace it at a cost of about 800 dollars.two of the cracks is around passenger side air bags.
