The dashboard of the vehicle cracks in multiple locations to include around the airbag. should he airbag deploy it will be punctured by sharp pieces from the dashboard. this makes the vehicle unsafe and ithe airbags ineffective should the deploy. the manufacturer shoud issue a recall.
Takata recall: my truck has a 8" crack on driver's dashboard. worry that it damage all the electronic inside of it. moves and cracks as the truck is moving. another 3" crack located on the airbag opening. very concern that it can affect the ability of the airbag. 2nd owner of the truck and bought it jan 2016

I was driving and the engine light the traction light and the tire monitor system light lit up then the sign said engine power reduce and then the car engine started shaking really bad.
I've been a proud chevy owner for years. but very disappointed that the cracked dash issue is not being resolved. i have a crack above my steering wheel and above my passenger side air bag. i don't think this many complaints are just a concidence. i don't see how it's not a safety issue considering it's cracking by airbags. plus i thought chevrolet had a higher standard for their vehicles. also more concerned on making the consumer happy and proud to own a chevrolet. i hope they change their minds.
Cracked dash.
This dash crack on 2007 chevy tahoe seems to be common in this years suv's and trucks. as seen on forums/youtube concerning this dash crack, it could be possible that in a collision, the cracked plastic dash can act as shrapnel when airbags deploy. please run some tests on this as i have little ones and wouldn't want them in harms way.
My dashboard cracks around the passenger side airbag. i have had 2 dashboards replaced already.
Door handles are peeling and caused my child to get a cut and bleed, lights on inside of the truck keep turning on and off seem spoke electrical shortage
The chrome on the interior door handle is peeling, is very sharp and caused cuts on fingers when the door was opened. the cuts led to continued bleeding.
While cleaning the dashboard i heard a loud noise and noticed it had cracked in two places. one over the drivers side "hump" and the other at the air bag. it now has three cracks.

Passenger side of the dashboard is cracked around the airbag. there is also a large crack in the dashboard directly behind the instrument cluster. i am concerned that if the airbag was to deploy, there would be projectiles from the dashboard.
The dashboard has started cracking in multiple locations. i take extremely good care of my vehicle and have never experienced this with any other vehicle before ( level a 2003 yukon we had for 14 years).
There is a crack running on dash on passenger side starting at the airbag seem on top of dash board.
I have had my tahoe since 2009 and since that time i have had 3 cracks in the dashboard. i am concerned that this problem will affect the airbags in they get worse. i also think that it is a manufacturing defect as my husband's 2008 silverado has the same problem. they are both kept in a garage.

I am very disappointed in gm for not taking the measure to fix the cracked dashboard! not only is my air bag recalled and says it can cause serious injury my dash is cracked as well right next to a potential deadly air bag. i believe this issue needs to be fixed by gm immediately, i can guarantee if it were their family's vehicle it would be fixed!

I have a 2007 tahoe that has developed several cracks in the dash. one above the steering wheel and another at the passenger side air bag. i am concerned that should the passenger airbag deploy, the dash pieces will become shrapnel, causing avoidable injuries. i have researched this and found it to be disturbingly common for these vehicles. this vehicle is garage kept and meticulously cared for. will gm be made to stand behind the safety of their vehicles?
The dashboard is cracking. an internet search of the problem reveals it is a defect that is affecting many other owners of the same vehicle.
All of sudden my dash on passager side, over air bag show a crack, and as the time went by is cracking even more . i just went to chevrolet yesterday,to see what could be done , and the first thing i heard was that was very commom ,but since i'm out of warranty, that should cost around $ 1300 to be replaced. since is common ,and i was looking on line , they should replace at their cost not ours.

2007 tahoe with 100k miles. dashboard has been cracked since before 100k and chrome peeling from door handles causing occasional cuts to hands when opening doors. dealer has refused to do anything and both are expensive repairs. don't plan to buy another gm product - they don't stand behind their products.
The dashboard on my 2007 chevrolet tahoe has fractures over the passenger front airbag as well as above the instrument cluster. the fractures are emitting a loud rattle from within the dashboard preventing adequate concentration while driving. the fear of a collision resulting in the deployment of the front passenger side airbag is one thing but i also fear that the fractures in the dashboard shows the structural integrity of the dashboard has failed and presents a strong and valid possibly of said fractures splintering off and becoming shrapnel in a collision causing serious injury. from my understanding this is a widely known and documented issue with the chevrolet tahoe. i am requesting a formal investigation into the failed integrity of the dashboard on the chevrolet tahoe, years 2007-2013
Dashboard has 2 cracks. one along the airbag which i'm afraid of my safety. the other is a long one across the steering wheel/speedometer.

Takata recall i own a 2007 chevrolet tahoe the dashboard is severely cracked. i am concern that a piece might break and cause damage to the airbag. i have attempted to get this corrected through gm with no resolve. i have checked and found this is a common occurrence on this year model.

The dash is cracking all over and it started at 70,000 miles. the deep concern that we have is in an accident that pieces of plastic will fly as the airbags are deployed. that can permanently injur eyes or cut body parts . this is a manufacturer defect and they should recall before someone is permanently injured. look on facebook their is a group of over 3,000 people with same problem. 07-13 gm cracked dash safety hazard for all trucks.

1. lift gate failed and hurt my arm on or about jan 1 2014. i need repaired asap! 2. dashboard cracked above steering column and cracked by air bag passenger side. i need repaired asap. gm refused to acknowledge thousands of consumers having the same effects to their dashboard. 3. timing chain went off time and bent a cylinder which caused serious damage 9/2014 cost of damages at approximate 4500.00 gm refused to acknowledge deficiencies. i paid out of pocket the 4500.00 with no assistance. i also paid 250.00 for estimates at the gm dealer in kingston mass. they refused to help and give assistance on any of these 3 major safety problems after submitting the dealer bona fide report.
Dashboard is cracked all over with a large crack next to the passenger side airbag. there is now a recall on the airbags which is another example of the cheap material chevrolet put into there vehicle. if airbags do deploy, portions of those cheap plastic dashboards can be deadly. general motors, you are on notice. you have lost a loyal customer for life.
