On average, the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 starts to “feel” problems with the UNKNOWN OR OTHER and its various aspects after 55 418 miles.

Recently reported UNKNOWN OR OTHER problems on 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Takata recall condenser needs replacing.

The driver's side rear back glass shattered as the truck was parked in my driveway. the glass has rear defrost heat wires in it and apparently there is a defect in this glass. other reports say there is a spall in the glass and it is happening quite frequently.

Chevy is awarded about issue with the airconditioing, and expects a costumer to pay 500 to get it fix

Constant vibration threw out the cabin of the truck at speeds of 65+. i have had 5 sets of tires and the problem has not been fixed even with tires they say will fix the issue, michelin tires. it is said the its a frame issue and that i have to continue to bring it into the dealership to get the tires balanced every time it starts up again. even then it still happens on a monthly basis. why do i have to pay for gm mistakes on the build of tithe trucks? please help, this is not right of gm passing the buck onto the customer.

The ac went out on my 2014 chevy silverado 1500. gm will not do anything about it even though they said the are trying to determain which vin numbers they should recall. looking online there are thousands upon thousands of ac going out in these units do to faulty manufacturing. gm should be held responsible for it. not everyone has $1200-$2000 to fix this issue out of pocket for a 3 year old vehicle in which we already paid 40k for.

Vehicle vibration at 45 to 65 mpg

While driving my 2014 chevrolet silverado the ac unit began blowing warm air. i am now forced to drive myself and my infant son while being exposed to potentially lethal temperatures inside the car. every time i remove my son from his car seat he is sweating. in addition, if it is raining outside my windows become almost impossible to see out of since the defroster is linked to a properly working ac unit. gm knows about this systemic issue in all similar vehicles and has refused to rectify the hazard or mitigate the heat exposure to my child.

While making a left turn into my driveway on a city street going approximately 10 mph, my steering wheel suddenly jerked to the left out of my hand, and the entire vehicle went dead (lost all power, lights, etc.). because the steering wheel locked, i was unable to turn fully into my driveway. as a result, the bed of the truck was sticking out into a major road and i was almost hit by cars coming around the curve by my driveway. it was dark and rainy. i called someone for help and we pushed the truck out of the roadway as best as possible, considering that the steering wheel was still locked. the truck would not restart. all power was gone. the only way i could think to move the truck was to jump start it with another vehicle. after jumpstarting the truck, the dash info system displayed, "action required: open then close driver window." this is the 2nd time this happened after chevy dealership performed recall 17276 "temporary loss of electrical power steering (eps) service (during low speed steering maneuvers). there is a tsb out alluding to this issue: #pit5405c: steering jerks or kicks back / reduced power steering assist / engine stall, etc. (jan 27, 2017) . why is there no recall??? this is a major safety issue and could have been deadly!

The mylink and radio keeps going out eean after being replaced. the dashboard funcions act erratically with blinking and then resets the statistics. when the horn is konked the mylink and radio go dead. the dangerous part id the dash functions acting erratically. hope it does not stall on my on the highway infront of a semit truck or something.

At 41,000 miles the air conditioner compressor and hoses had to be replaced. and when headlamps are on and i hit the brakes or turn signals the dome light flashes.

Ac unit has gone out twice now within 70k miles and i drive a lot in texas heat dressed professionally and have 3 children. i have owned silverados since i was 18 and am now 46 and have never once had an ac problem. after reading a lot of complaints on multiple forums i over last few years i would think this would have been resolved as a recall issue already

Truck shakes/vibrates at highway speeds above 65 mph very badly slight vibration at lower speeds also know as the chevy shake

There is a defect in the a/c condenser. coolant was leaking from a hole in the condenser and the a/c no longer worked. the truck was very hot to drive in. the repair was very expensive $800. this leak was not a result of any body damage or crash.

Brake is not working properly

The ac started blowing out hot air when i was driving back home. took it to dealership and it came back that i had a broken condenser hose and it leaked out all the coolant. according to gm there well aware with the 2014 models doing this. that there's a defect in the hose, don't see why owners of these veichles should have to pay out of pocket.

My air conditioner quit working and i was told it was a leak due to condenser. i did some research and found this was a highly common issue in similar gm vehicles

Today i purchased a new set of truck tires at dave stern tire located in paterson ,new jersey.near completion the service manager informed me that one of my lug nuts split/cracked on one side ,the caster cover on the lug nut came off.i observed that like has happened to my 2006 chrysler 300 the same thing and problem-there is a safety hazard that the lug nuts can crack and come off while driving . all of those lug nuts sheered off and or rounded and costed me money to replace all of them. on my chrysler ,like now my chevy silverado i have to go to a certified dealer to purchase all new ones, these lug nuts cannot be purchased in a automotive store due to the certain tappered end to fit securely to keep the wheel on ,in closeing this is a dealer defect and new lug nuts- are need to replace the casted covered/and lug nuts that was original equipment when this truck was purchased from dealer originally.this is a safety hazard waiting to happen.

I have a 2014 silverado and the ac condenser just went out. i brought it to a shop and it appears they bracket has a leak and the entire condenser has to be changed. the mechanic stated that this is a known issue and after reading all the other complaints on your site it appears he was right. gm knows of this issue and has not placed a recall for this part.

The ac condensor failed, and the ac quit working. cost from dealer is going to be 1200.00 the car is only 3 years old

Doors will not lock using the lock button. locks and unlock manually only if you are able to catch lock and manually pull it up to open or push it down to lock. this occurs when car is stationary or in motion which makes it hard to enter vehicle urgently or exit in the same manner (urgently).

Ac system failure. no cold air as well as non effective windshield defroster.

At 52,000 a/c system failure.

Purchase $52,000 truck 2/14. nine recalls on nebulous matters. at 46,000 miles and 3 1/2 years, a c began blowing hot air. condenser is leaking. g m condenser not available - national back order. dealer offered after market condenser for $863. have learned the national back order involved 18,000 condensers. this many g m 2014 silverado owners have the same problems. chevrolet should be required to give owners some relief on this faulty truck part. there are complaints all over the country about this. i realize this is not a safety issue, but don't know where else to report this matter. leaking so much coolant might be an environmental issue.

Ac is blowing warm air. brought to dealer 7/17/2017 and was told the condenser was leaking after charging me $200 to diagnose they told me my warranty would cover the repair but i had to wait for the part to be redesigned and made available. two and a half months later 10/02/2017 they had the part but now told me that my warranty will not cover the $1100 cost to repair. i did not have the $1100 since i was told the repair would be covered. i also do not believe that the customers should have to pay for a part/repair on a known bad design.

Ac condenser leaking. condensers are being redesigned and are on back order. i was told not to ask for a timeline to fix and they will not give me a loaner vehicle. i live in florida and not having ac is a problem.

A/c failed at 93,000 miles. leak at a bad condenser. dealer wants $1500 to repair. apparently a common problem with this year of truck.

Purchased a new 2014 off the lot with 7 miles and we have had nothing but trouble with this truck. from air bag sensors going out and the dealer refusing to cover this to the seat being replaced. the rear went out and had to be replaced. the ac has been replaced twice. both times called chevy asking for help and was denied assistance. seatbelt issues. computer screen issues. tire senor issues rattling in the dashboard. i will never own another chevrolet product again. this is the primary vehicle my husband drives to work and back home. this truck is only 3 years old and we have actually think we have a defective product and chevy doesn't seem to wanna help us. i hate to write the monthly note out each month paying for something that's always breaking down. i will never own another chevrolet product.

The air conditioning condensers are known to be defective by gm and several local dealerships as well as local mechanics who are constantly replacing these on vehicles equipped with the 5.3l v8. this applies to all gm vehicles with this motor. owners are unable to get this fixed as oem parts are on national back-order with no eta. the back-order is due to gm having to re-manufacture the entire inventory while overwhelming demand for these replacement condensers grows. this is a $1,100 repair including parts and labor that should not be the burden of the consumer as gm has acknowledged this is due to a manufacturer defect. in the meanwhile we have to drive with our windows down which exposes us to exhaust fumes of other vehicles and debris being free to enter the vehicle. nothing provoked this failed condenser as i was simply driving down the freeway at a normal speed and my air conditioner quickly became warmer as the refrigerant leaked out.

Known gm issue with a/c condenser. national back ordered part...nearly every 2014 silverado has has this issue, or is going to. also known issue with radiator cracking issue....nearly all 2014's will have this issue if not already. both my condenser and radiator has to be replaced. gm must fix these known issues

Per dealership the upper ac hose that hooks to the condenser will crack due to needing a bracket that was not installed at all. the cost for me to repair is 1200 to 1500 bit why when there is a known issue will chevrolet not fix it. please respond the a.c. worked fine one day and then absolutely nothing the next day. does not cool at all. can't afford to fix a chevrolet error and prefer not to take it further. i would just like my a.c. to be fixed! please

I have 38,000 miles on my truck and the ac is now blowing warm air. apparently, this is a well known problem with this model, yet no recall!!!!

My air conditioniong started to blow hot air. i took to dealership and was diagnosed with needing a new ac condenser. part is on national backorder with no estimated time. it is summer time and too hot to drive without ac.

A/c condenser developed a crack and has failed / all freon has leaked out, have tried to work with gm and nothing but just telling us 2 to 3 months out for the part / it's 99 degrees with 70% today in south carolina plus this is the 9th week i have nothing. the local dealership tried to step in and help because gm would not and they will not even answer the dealerships calls. i'm one pissed off consumer with no other place to turn

Ac condenser leaking. stuck in 4x4. driver seat base moves

The air conditioner quit working so i took it to the dealer. they ran the diagnosis on it and said that the a/c condenser has a leak at one of the welds on it. i asked if this was a common problem and they said they have seen several of the trucks with this problem. i believe there is a bigger problem because you can not get the part anywhere in the country and nobody knows when they will be available. is there a recall in the works for this problem?

Ac no longer blows cold air. while driving, the ac stopped blowing cold air and will not blow any more.

My 2014 silverado was just out of warranty and my a/c condenser went out. i've contacted gm and they have done nothing but say they'll pay $200 out of the $1300 estimate the dealership gave me. this part is nationally backordered, which means it is in high demand, because gm put a bad condenser in these trucks. they are doing absolutely nothing to help the customers but pay a measly portion of the bill most working class americans cant just jump up and pay. i will never buy a gm after this experience. in kentucky the summers are miserable, and without ac it makes them that much more miserable. bottom line, gm caused this problem, gm should fix this problem.

Truck started blowing warm air 2 months ago. truck was just out of warranty at 38,598 miles. took to firestone repair center on 5/06/2017 to have ac checked out. they noted there was a leak in the condenser. contacted chevrolet customer care who opened a case and they mentioned that i now had to take the truck to an authorized chevrolet dealer. i did that and they confirmed the firestone diagnosis and also mentioned that the condenser is on a nationwide back-order. the temperature in the california east bay is nearing 100 degrees and expected to stay that way for some time. no work form chevrolet regarding when the part will be available.

A/c condenser failed at 60,000 miles, leaking

I purchased the truck may 2015. the ac condenser went out april 2017. it has been at the dealership and the part has some type of hold on it. reading forums chevrolet knows this is an issue, but is in no hurry to fix the problem. also read that this issue is more likely to occur again. there is no reason a 2 year old truck should be having ac issues. it is very common in the specific year. gm needs to stand behind their product and make it right.

Ac is broke, gm has said this is a design flaw. i and many others are now waiting for a nation wide back ordered parts. i was told it may take up to two months for the parts. please advise. thank you

Air conditioning line rubs and breaks, tech. bulletin has dealership install bracket at your cost of course. problem is it breaks again, and you get to spend another 400 bucks so you can use the air-conditioning. this is a manufacturer design flaw. that comes at the consumers' expense.

The truck turned off on me on the freeway and i lost control for a few seconds. had to pay to get it towed to my house because it was at night couldn't take it to the dealer. took it to the dealer after and they said it was my battery . i'm just getting tired of all the issues that gm has. i'm getting frustrated of taking my truck in for recalls every other month! can some one help i'm trying to get my money back .

Air conditioning condensening coil went bad.defective. gm cant sell me one neither can after market aoto parts.none available because all have been pulled from market because they are defective. should be a recall.gm knows this is wide spread and wont acknowledge. dealerships have wave of these bad.

Compressor for airconditioner froze up at 44,600 we did not have an extended warranty on said vehicle also the screen on dash board to back up it doesn't always work. we where driving when it froze up and camera is when we are backing up

Ac condenser - been having trouble with the ac working, not working, working, not working but never staying off completely. this has been going on many miles before my truck reached 36,000 mile warranty end date and nothing could be found, or i was told since it would be working just find when i could get an appointment. now i have no a/c whatsoever. was told that the ac condensers have been on backorder for over 4 months now. they are happy to place an order for parts needed but i was told that even though gm knows about this problem and that it is happening to all 2013-2015 models at this time. gm most likely will not do a recall and most likely will not pay for parts or repairs.

I was never notified by chevrolet about a recall that was released on september 2015 and i bought my vehicle in april 2015. i only had vehicle serviced by my local chevy dealer "three way chevrolet/automotive. they never notified me about the recall when it was still covered and now that the warranty is expired, they notified me saying that he would have to be covered out of pocket. i have previously taken my vehicle to have other recalls done while it was still under warranty and after a 4x4 issued recall was released. when i notified the service person about why it wasn't brought to my attention before, he stated their wasn't anything he could do.

2014 chevy silverado manufacturer defect paint problems. took to dealer at 36700 miles and 6 months out of warranty. response: sorry its out of warranty. this is obviously a manufacturers defect. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ovybv0ln-bw&feature=youtu.be

The condenser unit has cracked and come away for the structural housing causing the unit to leak freon meaning that the a/c does not work. this is a design fault for the 2014 chevrolet silverado models through gm/chevrolet and currently there is a national back order on the part (nr. 84211191). this shows that there are a large number of people experiencing this problem and as things stand chevrolet cannot even give me an estimate as to when the part will become available again. i feel as though this should be grounds enough for some sort of reimbursement / recall.

Austin, tx while driving home with infant child, truck ac would not cool cabin in an unseasonably warm november afternoon. took truck to dealership and diagnosed as crack in high side refrigerant discharge hose. had it repaired & bracket installed. while having truck in shop became aware that this was an emerging issue and gm has not acted on resolving the design flaw.
